    All-inclusive Hotel in the Kanaya Hotel Group

    I stayed here with two friends a few years ago and had a wonderful time, so when we decided to visit an Onsen with two families, someone said they wanted a breakfast buffet, and I recommended Key Highland. We arrived more than 30 minutes before the check-in time, but the staff were very accommodating. Check-in was smooth, and we were able to enter our Room right away. My husband doesn’t usually like Accommodations with buffets, so he didn’t have high expectations. However, after trying the dinner dishes, he was satisfied with the high quality. The other family was also very pleased with both the food and the all-inclusive drinks as well as the forest spa, and they said they would like to come again. As everyone mentioned, both dinner and breakfast were delicious. In particular, just like last time, every small appetizer dish was excellent. The forest spa was very relaxing, and all of the staff were attentive as well—so I would love to stay here again.

    Exceeds expectations

    A wonderful Hotel with a casual, family-friendly atmosphere where two adults can also relax comfortably. The staff were very attentive. The dinner and breakfast buffets had creative menu options and were both fun and delicious. The wine selection at dinner was also excellent. I’d love to visit again someday.

    Very comfortable.

    The property was always clean, and all the staff were very kind and courteous. The meals were delicious. We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay, and we really appreciated that a freshly made lunch was prepared for us as soon as we returned from going out. Our child especially loved the complimentary marshmallows and the pool, and our whole family was very satisfied. If we have another opportunity, we would love to stay again. We had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

    Comfortable All-Inclusive

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. I was able to spend a comfortable and enjoyable time thanks to the following: ・All meals were freshly prepared and delicious ・The forest spa was soothing, with an open feel and an immersive natural setting ・The pool could be used from morning until night ・There was karaoke ・There were board games One personal disappointment—perhaps only in the men’s area—was that there was no soap (hand soap) at the sink area in the bath. Since there is also a toilet in the same space, please consider providing it. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I would definitely like to visit again.

    Suite Type A

    This has been our family’s favorite Facility, and we enjoyed staying here again for the third summer in a row with the same great value for money. One request: I believe there are five Suite A–type Rooms on the 3rd and 2nd floors, so I would like to be able to specify the Room when making a Reservation (at least choosing between the 3rd or 2nd floor). I think it would be fine to have a slight price difference depending on the view.

    A bit disappointing...

    We traveled with our grandchildren, a group of nine in total. Since it was advertised as a child-friendly Hotel, we reserved a Japanese-Western style Room months in advance and were all looking forward to it. We expected to fully enjoy ourselves—swimming in the pool and doing karaoke—but even though it wasn’t yet 7:00 p.m., we received a noise complaint from the guests in the Room below. A member of the Hotel staff came to warn us. After that, we couldn’t relax at all, constantly telling the children to be quiet. The food was fairly good and it was nice to have drinks, but it didn’t feel very welcoming for families with children.

    Perfect for three-generation trips!!

    Everything was simply outstanding. Our elementary school-aged child fully enjoyed the pool, loved the food so much, and even had a late-night snack! Grandma also enjoyed the infinity Onsen, the massage chairs, and yoga. The meals are truly delicious, so I highly recommend that everyone visit!

    We had a relaxing stay.

    The Room and the facilities were incredibly clean, and I was truly impressed by the excellent housekeeping!!! I just wish the view from the Room window felt a bit more like relaxing in the forest. If the hallway atmosphere had continued that same soothing feeling as the front desk, it would have been even nicer. The forest spa was amazing! It was really helpful that plenty of towels were available, rather than being limited to something like one per person during the stay. I was disappointed that I couldn’t get a Reservation for karaoke. I wish you could arrange it so more guests can use it and proactively let guests know when slots open up. As for the buffet, it felt like there was mostly meat and not much fish. The steak was delicious, but I’d be happy to see more seafood options like shrimp or scallops as well. All of the desserts were delicious. Overall, there weren’t many buffet items that stood out to me as especially tasty, so if you could put a bit more focus into the meals, I think this would become an outstanding Hotel. Since you can drink as much alcohol and other beverages as you like, it’s perfect for anyone who loves drinks! It’s a shame I didn’t use the pool—next time I visit, I definitely want to go in. Next time, I also want to make my karaoke Reservation earlier. Thank you very much for the wonderful birthday gift!!

    A Comprehensive All-Inclusive Experience

    Worried that you’ve become such a small eater that you can’t finish the meals at an Accommodation with dinner included? I visited with my mother in her 80s, looking for a place where we could enjoy small portions of whatever we wanted, as much as we liked. We really appreciated the generous system that allowed us to have alcohol at any time of day. The staff were also courteous and calm, making our stay very pleasant. If I had to make one request, it would be nice if the lounge in the evening had some arrangements to allow for a quieter atmosphere, but otherwise we were completely satisfied. Thank you for taking care of us.

    High-quality buffet featuring locally sourced ingredients.

    Given the area’s strong dairy farming, the dishes and desserts made with dairy products were delicious. It was also very appealing that they seem to make things by hand as much as possible rather than relying on pre-made items. There was a wide selection of alcohol; the sake was locally brewed in Tochigi, and while the wine was imported, it seemed thoughtfully chosen—overall a great impression. If I could mention one thing, I’d like to see better coffee… If there were an espresso machine in the dining area at the same level as the one set up in the corridor for takeaway, this buffet would be almost perfect. The same goes for breakfast.

    Mealtimes were very enjoyable, and the food was delicious.

    The forest spa felt wonderful in the fresh green season. Perhaps because there aren’t many guest rooms, nothing felt crowded anywhere, and our stay was very comfortable.

    Excellent value for money

    I think the value for money is excellent. With all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat options, it’s a great Hotel for big eaters. The “Forest Spa” is also a pleasant Facility, but since it operates on an alternating schedule for men and women, I was disappointed that I couldn’t fully enjoy it. I was able to soak in the Onsen, eat and drink without worrying, and truly relax. Watch out for weight gain!!!!

    A Blissful Moment

    It felt like a secluded Accommodation in the forests of Nasu Highlands, and we had a truly satisfying stay. Every dish was delicious, and the view from the open-air bath in the large public bath was nothing but trees with no man-made structures, making us forget the passage of time. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again someday.

    A wide variety of delicious meals.

    Not only was dinner wonderful, but the food presentation from the moment we arrived was also a lot of fun at this Accommodation. The variety of drinks was especially impressive. With so many drinks and syrups available, I think both drinkers and non-drinkers will be excited. Soft-serve ice cream is available at tea time, dinner, and breakfast, so it should be enjoyable for small children as well. Every meal was delicious. ----- Please do not publish the following; share it with the Accommodation only. The Room had a dusty smell, so I would appreciate it if you could check the air conditioning. (The cleaning was thorough, so I suspect it may be the air conditioning.)

    It was a stylish Hotel.

    Everything was wonderful overall! All the meals were delicious. I thought it would be even better if there were items like sashimi. The sauna and jacuzzi at the Forest Spa were excellent. The pool had a variety of temperature settings, so we really enjoyed it. The Room was clean, and the bed was soft and comfortable. It would be helpful to have hair ties available in the bath. On our way back, you kindly told us where to find sightseeing spots and gas stations. Thank you very much.

    As always, this Hote...

    As always, this Hotel remains very popular. The staff were attentive, and the facilities were clean and well maintained, which made for a truly pleasant stay. The meals were also very satisfying, and it was great that we could eat and drink until late—nothing to complain about. However, the elevator was out of order, which felt surprising for this Hotel. Also, the toilet door closer made a strange noise, and I was woken up every time someone used the toilet during the night, leaving me short on sleep. I understand that with staff shortages it must be difficult to keep everything maintained these days, but it is a wonderful Hotel—please keep up the good work. I will visit again.

    From the moment we arrived, we could enjoy drinks, relax in the Onsen, and have a delicious dinner. We had an amazing time!! The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was wonderful, and it was a truly happy stay. Personally, I especially loved the forest spa.

    Perfect.

    Thank you for a wonderful stay. I’ve stayed around the Nasu area about 10 times, but it’s rare to find a Hotel where the satisfaction exceeds the price—this one is perfect. I will definitely be coming back. The quality of the food, in particular, was outstanding. From evening onward, it felt like I was eating the whole time. (Laughs) I hope the quality hasn’t declined by my next visit.

    The food is truly delicious!!

    We stayed for one night as a family of three. From the Shuttle Service to check-in, everything was very smooth, and there was absolutely no stress from having to wait. I had braced myself for a long wait at check-in because it was crowded, so I was pleasantly surprised. The food was carefully prepared across the board, each dish was delicious, and I felt the buffet quality was excellent. The steak selection included three options—beef tongue, filet, and sirloin— and each cut was high-quality meat, carefully sliced and beautifully plated, making it very easy to eat. There was also a great variety of drinks, including many kinds of alcohol. We’ve only just returned home, but it’s such a wonderful Hotel that we already want to come back. That said, it was disappointing that the guest room door opened inward and there wasn’t much space, which made it difficult for three adults to go in and out. I found myself wishing it were a sliding door… every time we entered or left. The pool is open until 22:00, so I thought it would be nice if 20:00–22:00 were adults-only hours; then we could have used it without feeling hesitant around children. (Since there were many families with small children, as an adults-only group we felt a bit reluctant to go in.) Still, these are minor points overall, and it’s a Hotel we would definitely like to stay at again. All of the staff were polite and pleasant, and we were able to relax throughout our stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    We had a wonderful stay.

    I’d always hoped to stay here someday, and thanks to the waitlist on IKYU, we were finally able to book a room. We were driving a rental car and were also concerned about bears, so I contacted the Accommodation several times in advance. These days it can be hard to get through by phone anywhere, but here they answered promptly and kindly responded to my questions again and again. Thanks to that, we arrived with no worries. We stayed in Suite A. There were two adults and one child, and three beds had been set up side by side—it was impressive. Our child was thrilled. There was no worry about falling off, and we could use the space comfortably. Everything was extremely clean, and since it happened to snow at just the right time, the view was beautiful as well. The open-air bath attached to the Room felt wonderful. As for the Facility outside the Room, it was great that we could play in the pool and then go straight to the bath without getting cold. The spin dryer was also much appreciated. There are only a few loaner swim rings available, so if you have small children it’s probably best to bring your own. Our Room happened to be on the 3rd floor, which made it very easy to get to the restaurant—highly recommended (not sure if requests are possible). It was also convenient for quickly grabbing free drinks and bringing them back up. The meals were truly delicious, and there were plenty of staff members, so we enjoyed everything very much. We had noticed how strong—and tasty—the carbonation in drinks like beer and cola was; in the morning we saw staff carefully performing maintenance on it. If they do that every day, it makes perfect sense why everything tastes so good. Because we chose a late check-out Plan, our dinner time had been set for 7:30 p.m., which I hesitated over at check-in before deciding on that Plan anyway. Perhaps they remembered this—around 7:00 p.m., they called us so we could start dinner earlier. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration. It ended up being such a fun stay that my son kept insisting he didn’t want to leave after just one day—he wanted to stay longer. There are ranches and a safari park around the Hotel as well; when we thought “Let’s go there!”, everything was only about 10–15 minutes away by car, which was another plus! We would love to visit again in a different season—early summer next time.

    A Hotel you’ll never get tired of.

    Whenever we visit Nasu, this is the first Hotel we check for availability. We love it for its excellent food and the warm, welcoming staff. Surrounded by trees in a quiet villa area, the layout is simple and easy to navigate, with just the guest Rooms, restaurant, and bath area (indoor pool). The calm atmosphere feels especially relaxing at this size. The restaurant in particular works beautifully: it serves as a café where you can enjoy drinks right after check-in, and then as a bar until 11:00 p.m. after dinner. You can take your time without feeling rushed, making great use of the all-inclusive concept. We may even spend more time in the restaurant than in our Room. What used to be a slight downside—the small bath area—now feels resolved with the addition of a spa featuring an infinity bath (it faces forest rather than ocean). Every dish is delicious and highlights quality ingredients. Breakfast also stands out, with carefully selected items down to fresh vegetables and eggs, as well as specific breads and natto brands—it’s hard to choose what to eat. Preferences may vary, but for our family this Hotel feels so reliably satisfying that instead of going out to find a great restaurant somewhere else, we end up saying we should just stay here again.

    We had a satisfying stay.

    The meals were delicious, and we were very satisfied with the open-air bath in our Room—it was a wonderful stay. Thank you very much. However, there were also some disappointing points. Without going into details, there was a noticeable difference in the level of service among staff members. Also, the car charger was difficult to operate, and there were no instructions provided. If these two points are improved, I believe it will become an even better Hotel.

    The Onsen was clean and the meals were delicious. The Hotel also offers loaner bicycles, so you can explore the surrounding area. We were very satisfied.

    My spouse and I both love alcohol, Onsen, and great food, so we had a wonderful time. The meals were excellent—we especially enjoyed the steak dinner and the French toast at breakfast, and went back for seconds many times. We would love to visit again.

    First Trip with My Daughter

    We stayed here for our first domestic trip after our daughter was born. Since our daughter is 1 year old, we were concerned about the bed, so we chose a Japanese-Western style room, and it was the perfect choice! The Japanese-Western style room was spacious, and the tatami area allowed us to use futons, making it safe for our restless sleeper daughter. The meals were delicious and very satisfying. However, the breakfast hours from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM felt too short for us as a family who likes to wake up leisurely. Overall, it’s an excellent hotel, and we would love to stay here again when visiting Nasu!

    It became a memorable trip for our family.

    We stayed in Suite B with two adults and two preschool children. The room was spacious with two bedrooms, which made the kids very excited. There was also a kitchen not shown on the floor plan, featuring a stylish stainless steel design and elegant tableware. The large refrigerator with a freezer was incredibly convenient. The private open-air bath in the room was enclosed, so bugs were not an issue, and the water temperature was perfect for relaxation. The room's cleanliness was impeccable, and the staff were kind and attentive, making our stay warm and pleasant. It was helpful that both the pool and Onsen were accessible from the changing area, and having a spin dryer available there added to our convenience. The all-inclusive experience included activities like marshmallow roasting and soft-serve making for kids to enjoy, which we found delightful. We also made use of Netflix in our room. Every meal we had was delicious, with plenty of options suitable for children as well—making it easy to enjoy the buffet-style dining even more. While we usually choose accommodations with ocean views, this time we appreciated being surrounded by beautiful forests that offered a serene atmosphere. We were thrilled to have chosen this hotel for our celebratory trip—it exceeded expectations! We even talked about coming back here for future special occasions. This hotel is great not only for families but also couples or guests of various ages. Since many people dine together at the restaurant compared to other hotels we've visited before, we made sure to keep our kids entertained quietly while enjoying ourselves there. Although we couldn’t eat or drink as much as expected because we got full quickly, it gives us something exciting to look forward to next time! Be sure not to miss out on experiencing the Forest Spa—it’s an absolute must! There are so many wonderful things I could say about this place; overall it’s truly an excellent hotel!

    The Room and bath we...

    The Room and bath were wonderful, and the complimentary drinks service was excellent. However, the best part was the meals. Everything was delicious, with a wide variety to enjoy. The desserts were especially delightful. I would love to visit again.

    It was excellent.

    This was my first experience with an all-inclusive stay, as I usually take short trips around this time of year. The pool, which was the main attraction for me at the Hotel, was incredibly enjoyable and not as crowded as I expected, making it a comfortable place to relax. The forest spa afterward provided an amazing healing space that made me want to visit every day. The Room was simple yet luxurious with only the necessary amenities, making it very comfortable. However, having chairs on the balcony would have been a nice addition. As a smoker, I appreciated that there was a smoking area on the same floor as my Room, so it wasn’t inconvenient at all. If anything could be improved, perhaps updating the massage chairs in the smoking area would be great. The breakfast and dinner buffets were of such high quality that I couldn’t believe they were part of a buffet! Despite eating too much already, I even worked off some calories in the pool just so I could enjoy late-night ochazuke (rice in tea). The male staff member in charge of the kitchen hall had such great hospitality and left a positive impression. I also liked how minimal interaction with staff allowed me to feel like I was at home during my stay. It’s definitely a Hotel I'd love to visit again during another season—thank you!
