    I wanted to see this resort developed by Hideo Morita.

    It was a Facility where Lotte's philosophy towards their business could be observed, for better or worse. I would like to visit again during the ski season to see how it is then.

    The Chronicle of the Six Blank Days

    I stayed at the accommodation six days ago with a No Meals Included plan, but this time I chose a plan with two meals. To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations for the meals, but they turned out to be surprisingly good. During breakfast, there was one ingredient that left a strong impression on me—it was even tastier than what you’d find at other restaurants. Even though it’s off-season and the price is undeniably affordable for this level of facility, I felt that the potential of this accommodation wasn’t fully utilized, leaving a somewhat somber atmosphere. However, revisiting allowed me to sense some changes in the ambiance, and being able to confirm that was a positive experience.

    Highly recommended.

    This was my fourth stay. This time, I visited on the way back from a trip to Nagano with friends, based on my recommendation. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The Onsen provided great warmth and relaxation. Meals had a wide variety of options and were delicious. The staff were friendly and, above all, very kind. Despite all this, it was reasonably priced! My friends were also delighted with the experience. It seems like more guests are visiting year by year. However... one small downside (though understandable given the price) is that you now need to bring your own towels to the Onsen area. The face towel provided is too fluffy for washing your body effectively. Next time, I'll bring my own bath towel from home! Looking forward to staying again soon—thank you so much!

    Off-season

    I stayed on an off-season weekday Thursday and had a wonderful day in a well-maintained and immaculate environment.

    It was a stay for a ...

    It was a stay for a group of 4. This was our second time using the Deluxe Quadruple in the lodge building, and we were able to relax and enjoy our time again. The breakfast offered a variety of dishes, with local ingredients and cuisine thoughtfully prepared, which made us very satisfied. We would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    Accommodation on the way back from visiting your family home in Hokuriku by car.

    The most affordable Plan (with breakfast) for one night, but the Room was spacious and clean, and the staff's service was excellent, making it a pleasant stay.

    Looks like an overseas castle.

    At first, the weather was bad, and my mood was a bit down, but the Hotel's scenery was beautiful. The mist at night created a magical and fantastic atmosphere. I couldn't help but exclaim, "It's like a castle overseas!" The Room was spacious and clean. The bath was great. The food was delicious. It turned out to be a wonderful trip. Next time, I hope to visit on a clear day to enjoy the starry Onsen. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    A premium space

    A quiet and serene Hotel. The spacious courtyard is perfect for a stroll. The Mountain View Room offered a stunning view of snow-capped mountains, which was very refreshing. At the breakfast buffet, we enjoyed comparing different types of rice. As expected from Niigata, known for its rice, every bite was delightful. The starlit Onsen was clean with perfectly warm water.

    I keep coming back.

    The convenient location keeps bringing me back. When I visited for the first time in six months, I noticed that towels for the Onsen are now to be brought from the Room. I think this is great from a sustainability perspective, but it would be nice to have one more towel specifically for Onsen use!

    With my wife, just the two of us.

    This was my first stay after visiting Naoetsu. The place was clean and I had a relaxing time. The breakfast was simple, and the vegetables were very delicious. I knew it was a large resort, but the layout of the Facility felt complex. It would be helpful to have an improved overall map and signage. I would love to visit again in autumn!

    The property was clean and well-maintained. However, the room towels were insufficient as there were no hand towels, and we had to bring the room towels to the Onsen, which was not enough. For dinner, the steak on the first night was excellent. However, on the second night at a Vietnamese restaurant included in our plan, all dishes from appetizers to noodle soup and dessert were served at once upon ordering. This made it difficult to enjoy properly; we had to rush through eating the noodles before leaving. Breakfast at Asahi-san was delightful with great menu options and excellent service—much appreciated!

    I had a pleasant stay.

    The smart and attentive service unique to a Resort Hotel made for a pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The open-air bath was relaxing, and while the weather didn’t allow us to enjoy the view or stargazing, it was still satisfying. Surprisingly, even after getting out of the bath, my body stayed warm for a long time. Meals were served buffet-style; though not an extensive variety, each dish was carefully prepared with high-quality ingredients, which left me very satisfied. Our main purpose was to see the cherry blossoms at Takada Castle Site Park, but they had only just started blooming due to delayed flowering. It also began raining midway through our visit; however, the shuttle service close to the venue was greatly appreciated. Overall, I am very satisfied and would love to stay again if given another opportunity!

    It was a luxurious and exquisite experience.

    I went for skiing. Everything, including the building, meals, Onsen, and ski resort, was excellent. It's great that the resort is less than 3 hours from Tokyo Station. I would love to visit again during the green season.

    We enjoyed a spring ski trip with our children.

    I was a bit worried after reading reviews mentioning staff shortages and many foreign guests, but it didn’t bother me at all. Perhaps because the high season had ended or the timing was just right, I didn’t have to wait for check-in or check-out. The front desk staff answered my questions politely and were very kind. The room was ready, and I was allowed to check in early, which was very helpful. There were foreign guests, of course, but it didn’t feel overwhelming. Dinner was a Western-style buffet. Since we were a group of seven people, we could only reserve at 5 PM or 8 PM; however, they arranged for us to sit at the same table without any waiting time. The food was delicious! My child enjoyed eating lots of donuts. The additional charge for alcohol felt a bit expensive (beer: ¥1,100), so I couldn’t drink much but instead enjoyed plenty of delicious rice. Breakfast was also the same Western-style buffet with no waiting in line to enter in the morning either. The tortillas were tasty! It would be nice if there were more types of bread available though. While Japanese dishes were also offered during breakfast, having raw eggs would make it even better! My child wanted donuts again. The onsen wasn’t crowded at all so I could relax with my child there as well; however bringing towels from our room felt slightly inconvenient. Our room itself had ample space along with great ambiance overall—though upon entering initially noticed some toilet-like odor lingering around which improved after placing an air purifier centrally within & ventilating properly afterward. Being such large-scale hotel premises meant moving around took effort yet compensated by offering extensive facilities throughout making stay worthwhile despite limited duration spent overnight here alone leaving desire returning next time extending reservations spanning two-three nights instead!

    The property consists of multiple buildings, and the routes between them are complex and difficult to navigate. Inquiries at the front desk were not handled politely, causing delays in reaching the dining area. Although an email was sent in advance requesting a meal reservation, follow-up questions went unanswered. The prices of vending machines within the facility are unusually high. There are many stairs and steps, making it unfriendly for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues. Overall, the staff (front desk) were not accommodating, and the quality of service did not match the accommodation cost.

    The facilities are in excellent condition.

    The majority of guests are international, likely due to the ski season. The Hotel has several minor issues that stand out. Amenities like toiletries and hairdryers are not very well-equipped. There were no bags provided for going to the Onsen, which is uncommon for Japanese-style accommodations. The Onsen water does not flow directly from the source but seems to be still water. It might be circulated? However, since there are few visitors, the Onsen is usually empty. Additionally, upon arrival, we had to stand in line at the front desk for 30 minutes and our Room was not ready by the designated check-in time. The overall operation feels a bit unorganized. The buffet also caters more towards international tastes—for better or worse. That said, the Facility itself and its direct access to the slopes are very convenient.

    The Onsen and restaurant were excellent.

    It was my first stay. The onsen, massage, and restaurant were excellent. Everything was very clean, spacious, and of high quality. However, I felt that the overall operation was not well-organized. For example, during check-in and check-out, there were long lines despite only one staff member handling each process. Another staff member managed the waiting list while another handled luggage. It seemed like there was a lack of organization in terms of staffing and space management. Many questions were being asked simultaneously, which made it seem challenging for the staff to manage everything smoothly. Many guests appeared quite confused as well. As for outside restaurants, I found them by chance since there wasn’t much guidance provided—this felt like a missed opportunity. Additionally, although I was told that massage reservations were fully booked, many slots seemed to be available. While the resort itself is beautiful, I felt that its pricing as a luxury resort did not match the experience provided. Unfortunately, it gave off an impression of cost-cutting measures being evident during my stay. To clarify—there is no fault with the hardworking staff members who all did their best—but I believe operations and management could be improved further to enhance the overall experience.

    Resort Skiing

    The staff were all very pleasant, and the facilities were well-equipped, making for a comfortable stay. The convenient access is also a great attraction. However, there seemed to be a general shortage of staff both within the hotel and at the ski rental area. Despite having many inbound guests, some staff members appeared to be managing multiple responsibilities on their own. While this may be common across accommodations nowadays, perhaps measures such as increasing staff numbers, including hiring foreign workers during the busy snow season, could be considered.

    It was a magnificent winter wonderland.

    - Room & Amenities The room was just the right size. The view of the slopes from the window was beautiful, and the night illumination created a magical atmosphere. The room felt comfortable and well-maintained without showing signs of aging. - Hospitality & Service The staff at the accommodation building were friendly and approachable, which was great. However, the staff at the activity "reception" seemed young, lacked smiles, and had a very indifferent attitude, which created a noticeable contrast. - Onsen & Bath Despite being fully booked, the large public bath was relatively empty and provided a very relaxing experience. The snow-view bath was a rare and memorable experience as well. - Facility While there weren’t any particularly outstanding facilities within the hotel itself, the slopes were fantastic and made for an enjoyable resort stay overall. The game corner and shop felt small considering the size of the hotel. - Dining Since it wasn’t included in our plan, we separately reserved seats at one of the hotel's restaurants to enjoy their buffet meal. Although there weren’t many options available and restocking took some time when items ran out, everything tasted delicious. - Overall Satisfaction Living in an area with no connection to snow made it difficult to visit ski resorts before now; however, I truly appreciated having shuttle service from the station that finally allowed me to make this trip possible! Experiencing such an incredible snowy wonderland was amazing! There seemed to be many foreign guests—about half by my estimation—and while food prices felt quite high initially, it made sense given how popular this destination is among international visitors!

    I had a very relaxing time.

    Upon arrival, there was only one staff member at the front desk, so I waited briefly, but the service was quick and very helpful. The staff at the breakfast buffet restaurant were extremely pleasant, making my stay very enjoyable. I would love to visit again in a different season.

    Thank you very much.

    I traveled with friends and had a very enjoyable and pleasant stay. The bathroom, guest room, and even the restrooms outside the rooms were kept very clean. We also dined at the Hanoi restaurant, where the staff was incredibly kind, and we had a delicious and delightful time. It became a wonderful memory. Thank you!

    Healing Room

    I chose this hotel because it was a 30-minute shuttle service from the Shinkansen station. Although I was a bit anxious about the journey as it headed towards the countryside, once I arrived at the hotel, the atmosphere from the lobby to the guest room was very pleasant and calming. The lodge building seemed most suitable for seniors, so I chose the lodge building. The view from the room was great, and I felt relaxed without having to go anywhere. On the first day, I took a bath in the room's bathroom, which allowed me to relax and unwind. The large bathtub was excellent. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and although I usually can't sleep in unfamiliar places, I was able to sleep soundly here. The building materials of the room must have suited me, thanks to the plaster and wood. I was able to relax and unwind so much that I would like to visit again.

    The Facility was clean, and the activities were plentiful, making for a very satisfying stay. The breakfast venue was crowded with many children, so the staff seemed to be having a hard time. It's better to use it early or at a slightly off-peak time.

    I used it during the busy timing of the three-day weekend. The facility was cleaner and more comfortable than I imagined. Even in the Arai building, it was a relaxing space, and since the onsen was nearby, I could go many times, which was great. The grounds are vast, allowing for a leisurely stay. For activities during the busy season, if you plan to use them the next day, it is recommended to make a reservation the day before. Morning reception on the day is crowded. The breakfast buffet is crowded during the busy season, but you can leave your name and leave the venue once to wait. I chose Japanese food, but there was nothing to my liking. I should have opted for Western food in the Arai building.
