    The hospitality was wonderful!

    Thank you for a very comfortable stay. The hospitality was outstanding, and it is a Hotel I would love to visit again. It may not be easy to find the opportunity, but next time I hope to come when we are blessed with clear weather!

    The staff were very courteous.

    My wife and her parents stayed here. They said the meals at Sonorité were delicious, with local ingredients expertly prepared, and they were moved by the carefully handwritten menu prepared for each guest. Although it is a small Hotel, they were surprised that the staff remembered their faces and even how many people were staying, and took great care of them. They were also very satisfied with the breakfast buffet. If we have another opportunity, we would love to stay again.

    Thank you for the warm smiles of all the staff.

    From the Shuttle Service from Karuizawa Station onward, we enjoyed a comfortable stay with thoughtful attention to detail throughout. The restaurant cuisine and the staff’s warm, gentle smiles made our stay even more special. We were very satisfied with the spa and amenities, but since four women shared one Room, having skincare kits for each guest might have allowed us to enjoy them without hesitation. We hope for an even more wonderful stay in the future.

    Surprisingly.

    The hospitality was excellent and I had no complaints, but the Facility felt a bit dated. Also, the Room sofa was firm, and the TV was old. The meals were generous in portion size, and breakfast was especially delicious.

    Second stay in four years

    I was very satisfied with my previous stay, so I chose this Accommodation again. The Shuttle Service is extremely helpful. At check-in, late check-out was included as a Diamond member benefit, but it was not mentioned unless I brought it up. The Room and the large public bath were clean and nice. It would have been even better if the TV had internet access. This is a Hotel known for good food, so I booked the breakfast-included Plan and was looking forward to it, but overall the flavors felt less distinct than before. Perhaps due to the economic downturn, there were also fewer items. I hope it improves again.

    We stayed one night ...

    We stayed one night in a Courtyard Suite Twin Room with three adults. The room had a large sofa, so even with an extra bed set up, we still had plenty of space to relax. Convenient location within walking distance for shopping. The staff were friendly. We would like to stay again.

    We stayed to celebrate a birthday. The female staff member who assisted us at check-in, the female staff member who carried our luggage to our Room, and the male staff member who carried our luggage from the car were all kind and courteous—thank you very much. Breakfast was also very delicious. We would love to stay again for another special occasion.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This was my first time staying here. They offer a Shuttle Service, and the location is convenient as it is close to Old Karuizawa. The Room had enough space to relax, and I enjoyed a leisurely time with tea. The large public bath was nice because it wasn’t crowded. It was a Hotel where I could spend my time quietly.

    This is my go-to accommodation.

    I often stay here when visiting Karuizawa. I really appreciate the Shuttle Service from Karuizawa Station to the Hotel. My Room was on the courtyard side, but this time it was a bit unusual—perhaps because it was next to the elevator, it felt quite small, and the bathroom and toilet were not separate, which was disappointing. Still, I enjoyed using the large public bath, and overall I’m satisfied and would stay again in the future.

    We had a wonderful escape from everyday life.

    It was very quiet and relaxing. There were only about two other people in the bath, so I could soak in the tub at ease and relieve my fatigue. At breakfast, the staff brewed coffee for me at just the right time and, with a smile, cleared the dishes while saying, “Please take your time and enjoy.” It made me feel truly happy from the morning. I was able to enjoy an escape from everyday life. Thank you very much.

    Elevated hospitality and service one level above.

    The service was outstanding. It was refined, attentive, and never pushy, which made the stay truly comfortable. In this price range, many hotels don’t even have bell staff and basically tell you to grab your own amenities and handle everything yourself. This Hotel, however, offers the kind of hospitality you’d expect from a luxury hotel—excellent in every way. They provide private Shuttle Service to the station and ski resort as many times as you want in a Mercedes-Benz wagon, which is far more comfortable than staying at a hotel near the station and being packed into an on-site shuttle bus. You can also enjoy Old Karuizawa on foot—there are no downsides. Breakfast is also very good for this price range. The restaurant is quite good as well. They offer room service too, making it a great option for families with small children. The Facility is a bit dated but very clean, and since it’s originally a beautifully built property that has been renovated in a Hilton style, it was easy to settle in for a Multiple Night Stay. As often seen in Hilton brands, the ample storage space was especially appreciated. There’s also a desk, so it was comfortable to fit in meetings or work between family activities.

    This was a last-minu...

    This was a last-minute one-night trip, and I couldn’t arrange a rental car, so what appealed to me most was that the Shuttle Service could be used as many times as needed—so I decided to stay here. At check-in, there were a few misunderstandings and some wording nuances that concerned me, but more than that, the Shuttle Service was fast and truly helpful. My 5-star service rating is my gratitude to the staff who handled it. Thank you very much. I only had breakfast, but the vegetables were especially fresh, and everything—including the smoothies—was delicious, which made me want to try dinner as well. I had also known in advance that afternoon tea at IKYU Restaurant is consistently highly rated, but I couldn’t make it due to other plans—and I do regret that... The Room was clean and very comfortable. Thank you very much.

    A Wonderful Stay

    It was close to Karuizawa Ginza, making it very convenient for exploring on foot! The Hotel was clean, and the dinner was delicious. Having rental bicycles available would be very helpful.

    The meals were terrible.

    Both breakfast and dinner were terrible. The ingredients were poor quality, the cooking was mediocre, and even hot dishes were served completely cold. It felt not just overpriced, but unacceptable to serve to guests—I felt miserable while eating. On the other hand, the Room was spacious, and the Facility was good, so I stayed comfortably. If you stay here, I strongly recommend No Meals Included.

    This was my first stay here. I was extremely satisfied with everything. The breakfast buffet was especially delicious—I’d happily eat it every day. Also, the APPELLES amenities, such as the hand soap, had a wonderful fragrance and were very pleasant to use.

    A Comfortable Hotel

    Unusually for an international Hotel, it had a small number of guest Rooms, so it was quiet and relaxing. The staff were polished and welcoming, with cheerful greetings and pleasant service. I think this is the most important thing. The Room was spacious and well laid out for two people to spend time comfortably. The in-room bath also looked easy to use, but since there was a large public bath and a sauna, we used those instead. They are underground with no windows, but that actually created a cozy, secluded feel and was very calming. The hair dryer in the Room is a high-end Panasonic model, while the one in the public bath is Dyson. The shampoo and conditioner were also high quality—important for women. However, I would appreciate it if you could reconsider the basic skincare amenities in the public bath. I also think the Accommodation rate offers good value for money. It’s a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. When we arrived by car, a staff member came out to the parking lot to greet us right away. The Room was spacious, and I was very happy that the welcome sweets, minibar drinks, and all snacks were complimentary. I used the large public bath around 7:00 p.m., and it was private for a while at first. It isn’t very large and there were only about three hair dryers, so during busy times I thought the bath in the Room might be more comfortable. However, it was nice that they provided leave-in hair treatment and body lotion. A non-woven spa bag was prepared in the Room, and I appreciated being able to go without carrying towels. Breakfast is semi-buffet style, but even just the buffet items were enough to fill me up. The stewed beef tendon and pudding were especially delicious. Overall I was extremely satisfied, and above all, having a 12:00 p.m. checkout time was great. After breakfast we enjoyed strolling along Old Karuizawa Ginza Street, then returned to the Room to rest a bit before checking out. Since it’s such a spacious and lovely Room, we could spend plenty of time there and had a wonderful trip. I would definitely like to stay again.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    Although the building is old and the service feels less professional compared to a luxury Hotel, I was satisfied overall! The Room was clean thanks to renovations, and I really appreciated being able to request Shuttle Service between the station and the Hotel whenever I wanted. Breakfast was delicious, and I was happy that the minibar was free. I’d like to stay again!

    The staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism, and no matter who we met—whether in the hallway, lobby, restaurant, or at the entrance—they greeted us with a warm smile and attentive service. We could truly feel that they fully understood guests are here to enjoy an escape from everyday life, which helped us relax completely. In addition, the complimentary drinks in the Room were thoughtfully arranged so that even those who do not drink alcohol could enjoy them, including caffeine-free options. The hair dryer provided had strong airflow, and the bath changing area was stocked with bath towels and body wash cloths—thoughtful touches that made everything stress-free. We also had breakfast, and it was delicious despite being low in salt and sweetness; as people who care about our health, we were truly grateful and had a wonderful time. We would love to stay again.

    A Hotel you’ll want to visit again

    Although the building is old, the Room feels spacious thanks to its large size and high ceilings. Breakfast featured many items made with quality ingredients; I especially liked the tomato juice and the free-range egg pudding. The main dish was freshly prepared and delicious as well. What stood out most at this Hotel was the Shuttle Service. Not only between the station and the Hotel, but they would also pick us up at the ski resort in a Mercedes as soon as we called, which was very convenient for a ski trip. The staff provided excellent service, making this a Hotel I would definitely like to visit again.

    Nothing to complain about. A stress-free Karuizawa getaway.

    What I’d especially recommend to future guests is: “This Hotel offers Shuttle Service as many times as you need during your stay!” We traveled mainly to shop at the Karuizawa outlet mall, so we went back and forth between the station and the Hotel many times, and everyone was so kind and helpful—it truly made a difference. The tatami Room we stayed in was spacious enough for a family of four, including two high school-aged children, and we were able to relax comfortably. We enjoyed dinner via room service while watching the WBC, and it was wonderful to gather around the table on the tatami together as a family. The food was delicious and we were very satisfied. We also received a celebratory cake, and our surprise was a great success. It became an unforgettable trip. We’d love to come again. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I have stayed at this Hotel many times. I usually visit in summer, so this was my first winter stay in a while. Since I wanted to sightsee around Karuizawa and Naka-Karuizawa, the staff kindly picked up my luggage from the station. Thanks to that, I was able to explore hands-free! After checking in, I relaxed in my Room until it was time for dinner. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The spa is always very clean, whether I use it in the morning or evening. Thank you as always. This is my favorite Hotel in Karuizawa!

    A Special “CURIO”

    After dinner at a soba restaurant in Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza, we stopped by the Hotel lounge for a drink. We ordered a local Karuizawa craft beer, and were truly impressed by the staff member’s expert pour. The glass of draft beer we ordered as well had a perfect “angel ring” of foam. The next morning, a staff member who remembered us kindly guided us to the courtyard with the chapel. It was a winter-bare courtyard with snow still lingering from two days before. Though it was a different season, it brought back memories of our son’s wedding held here eight years ago. KIKYO has more charms than I could possibly describe here, but what I love most is the refined yet warmly personal hospitality of the entire team. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughtful care. Thanks to you, another special “CURIO” has been added to our collection.

    This is my fourth stay.

    With convenient access from the station, the property is quiet and perfect for a relaxing stay. The large public bath and restaurant are rarely crowded, so I stay here every time I visit Karuizawa. I plan to return again!
