    We would love to visit again next year.

    For many years, I’ve visited Karuizawa every summer for 2 nights to about a week to enjoy the cool weather. Recently, driving in the fog has started to feel like a hassle, and since this was my first time taking the Shinkansen, I decided to try somewhere different instead of my usual Accommodation—so I made my first Reservation here. We stayed for two nights, and both the main dishes and several buffet items changed between the first and second day, which made dining even more enjoyable. There were also many breakfast main options—Japanese-style choices, noodles, egg dishes, and more. The chilled potage soup served with the egg dish was outstanding; I liked it so much that I almost wanted a second serving. The vegetables, bread, and jams at the buffet were delicious—perhaps locally sourced—and I was also happy that the smoothies and yogurt were served in bottles. At buffets where fruit like bananas or apples is pre-cut, I sometimes skip it if it has started to discolor; here, they cut it fresh upon request, which was another great touch. Thank you very much. As this was our first stay at this Accommodation there were still a few things we were figuring out along the way, but we really liked being able to relax in our Room while enjoying the lush green scenery. We would love to visit again next year.

    We had a wonderful time on our three-generation family trip.

    We traveled as three generations with my mother and my 90-year-old grandmother. The meals and the service were very reassuring—just what you’d expect from a Hotel that also hosts weddings. The bath had a sauna, but it would have been even better with a cold plunge pool. At night we went stargazing, and in the morning we took a walk to SAWAMURA. I think it’s a great Hotel that all ages can enjoy. Thank you very much.

    Exquisite Breakfast Salad

    The location is close to Old Karuizawa, making for a stay unique to this area. Kawakami-an and Sawamura are a 5-minute walk away! The breakfast salad, choice of main dish, and coffee were all delicious.

    Although the building itself is old, the location is excellent, and the Room was spacious, clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious.

    This Hotel is conveniently located with easy access.

    We arrived by private car, but were told that Shuttle Service to the station is available. This is a Hotel we would gladly return to when traveling by Shinkansen. If you don’t mind walking, you can also walk to Karuizawa Station, and Kyukaruizawa Ginza is close by as well. It’s a great location surrounded by nature and convenient for shopping. We had made a Reservation for a standard Room, but they kindly upgraded us to a spacious Room with a balcony, and my husband and I were able to enjoy an early summer holiday at a relaxed pace. The morning menu selection and variety were just right for us in middle age—and everything was delicious. We especially loved the tomato koji dressing on the salad; when we asked the staff, they said it was homemade. We wished we could have purchased it. We will definitely visit again.

    Satisfied!

    The location is convenient for sightseeing, close to Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza, and I had no complaints about the Facility amenities or service, making my stay very comfortable. If I have another opportunity, I would like to make time to relax at the Hotel, such as with a Multiple Night Stay.

    It was very comfortable.

    I stayed at this Hotel for the first time for three nights from the end of May. The Room was very spacious, and it was relaxing to enjoy the greenery through the window. Above all, I really appreciated being able to use the Shuttle Service between Karuizawa Station and the Hotel as many times as needed. The Hotel staff were also very pleasant and responded quickly. The only small concern was some dark staining in the bathroom. Since it is made of stone, I assume there is a limit to how much it can be cleaned, but that part was a little disappointing. I would definitely like to stay again if I have another opportunity.

    I felt refreshed by the greenery and birdsong from the balcony. The Room was also comfortable, and although I stayed for only one night, I was able to relax and take it easy.

    Relax and unwind amid beautiful greenery

    All the Hotel staff were very friendly, and I had a pleasant stay. The Room was spacious and the service was attentive, so I was able to relax in Karuizawa, which was relatively uncrowded.

    It is a wonderful Hotel.

    I really loved the interior atmosphere. Our Room was on the second floor, and the view of the fresh green courtyard from the terrace was wonderful—it was truly a lovely Room. Breakfast was also very delicious. All of the staff were kind, which made for a great stay. I would definitely like to visit again.

    The Shuttle Service to the station was very helpful.

    Although the property is close to the station, the Shuttle Service provided as many times as needed was a great help. Thanks to all the staff, we were able to enjoy a very comfortable stay. The bath amenities were nice, but the lettering on the bottles was small and seemed difficult for older guests to tell them apart.

    The Shuttle Service is excellent.

    I stayed for one night on a cold, rainy day. The Hotel provided Shuttle Service between the Hotel and the station as many times as needed, which was a huge help. The location is excellent—between Karuizawa Station and Old Karuizawa—so it’s convenient for getting anywhere. Sawamura Main Store was also just a short walk via the back streets. Although it rained unfortunately, the fresh greenery visible from the window was very soothing. I loved the APPELLES shampoo and conditioner amenities so much that I bought them!

    This is a wonderful Hotel that I truly love.

    When you wake up in the morning, you can hear the lovely chirping of little birds. I love the tomato juice at breakfast, but unfortunately it wasn’t available every morning. All the staff were very pleasant—thank you so much.

    My favorite, Karuizawa KIKYO Hilton. This season is full of greenery, and I was able to relax and unwind. I’m planning to visit again in November, I believe. Thank you in advance.

    Thank you very much.

    Overall, it was excellent. The restaurant in particular was outstanding, both the food and the service. One disappointment was that we could not reach you by phone at all, so we were not picked up. We asked to have our luggage shipped, but some staff said it could be charged to the Room while others said cash payment only; in the end we paid in cash. I think this should be standardized.

    The property was very clean, and the staff were exceptionally courteous and wonderful. Everything was well maintained and in excellent order, including the meals, amenities, and Facility management such as the large public bath, allowing me to enjoy a comfortable, stress-free stay for the first time in a while.

    The Shuttle Service ...

    The Shuttle Service to the station multiple times was a huge help for sightseeing. Dinner, made with ingredients from Nagano Prefecture, was delicious across the board and wonderfully showcased the natural flavors. The staff were kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. We would love to stay here again when we visit Karuizawa.

    A calm, long-established Hotel

    During a one-night stay in Nagano over a holiday weekend, there happened to be availability for just one night, so I stayed here. Because it was a holiday weekend, I was directed to the underground parking area, but I was able to get there without any concerns. The service was excellent, and while the Hotel has a long-established feel rather than being new, it was well maintained and comfortable. What left the strongest impression on me were the staff who served our meals; they were very friendly and made it an enjoyable time. It was a short stay, but thank you very much for your hospitality. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    It was great.

    The moment you step in, it smells wonderful. I thought it might be Maison Margiela, and the amenities were Maison Margiela as well. Check-in and check-out were quick and smooth, which was great. Dinner was the chef’s choice; the portions felt a bit small. I went with my daughter, so it was fine while enjoying wine, but my husband would probably say it wasn’t enough. The food tasted excellent. Sorry for my limited vocabulary, but each dish felt carefully prepared. And the wine was amazing—everything we ordered was delicious! It was also great that we could have breakfast served in our Room. The eggs were delicious, and the vegetables were delicious too—no matter what we ate, we kept saying “So good!” The Room was clean, we could see greenery from the window, and it was easy to walk to Ginza Street, which made our stay very enjoyable. The large public bath didn’t have an open-air bath. I’m not sure if there was a sauna. It wasn’t crowded; I was tired so I didn’t stay long, but an open-air bath would have been nice. The shampoo and hot water were good. It turned into a wonderful trip.

    The meals were excellent, but...

    The meals were excellent. However, at breakfast I saw a middle-aged male staff member in a different uniform come out from the back and reprimand a male staff member in a black uniform using harsh language, even though guests were right in front of them (near the entrance where many guests were gathered). It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. All of the staff were polite, kind, and smiling, and I was having a wonderful time, so it was very disappointing to witness that moment. I wish it had been handled out of sight. Also, we stayed in a Premium Twin Room, but aside from the size it felt underwhelming. The orange part of the table was very dirty—possibly wax drips from a candle—and the pajamas were not set as a top-and-bottom pair (both pieces provided were tops; isn’t this normally checked?). A spider also came down from the ceiling and we had to deal with it ourselves. The Room was also too dark, making it difficult to do makeup. It was far below my expectations. Since I thought this would be a good Room, I at least want proper cleaning. And if there is such a large stain in such an obvious spot on the table, I think it should be replaced.

    The Hotel and the staff are excellent!

    It was our first stay, and we had a very comfortable time. This was a birthday trip for three generations: four adults and three preschool children. Even though the children may have caused some trouble at the restaurant, the staff kindly helped us with warm smiles, which was very reassuring. The restaurant meals were also delicious—we were truly impressed. It became a wonderful trip and a cherished memory. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again, and we look forward to seeing you.

    Dinner was excellent.

    When making a Reservation, I wasn’t sure about the Room layout, so I called to confirm, and the staff explained everything politely, which left a great impression. The front desk staff member who assisted us first was also very pleasant. The person who brought the surprise cake my husband had arranged was cheerful and kind as well. The cake’s delicate decoration and exquisite flavor truly reflected professional skill and taste. People are an invaluable asset that supports a company’s growth. What stood out most during this stay was dinner at Sonorité. The handwritten menu and photos of the producers were very moving touches. The explanation from the staff member in charge of our table was easy to follow and left a great impression. With Shinshu’s wonderful ingredients enhanced by the chef’s outstanding technique and deep knowledge, each dish was beautifully finished and brought to our table—an overwhelming experience. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again for dining in another season.

    The Best Karuizawa Getaway

    Unfortunately, it rained during our stay in Karuizawa, but the meals featuring locally sourced ingredients were delicious, and the staff were wonderful, making for a lovely Hotel stay. We were very satisfied and would definitely like to stay again if we have the opportunity.

    It was a luxurious Hotel.

    I stayed in a Premium Twin Room, and it was wonderful—spacious with lovely interior design. The amenities and in-room items were also well stocked. We requested one extra bed, and the mattress was the same thickness as the regular beds with just the right firmness, so I slept very well. I’m not sure whether it was an IKYU perk or a Hotel service, but we also received complimentary desserts and drinks, which was a nice surprise. All of the staff were kind and provided excellent service. We only added breakfast, but it felt like a semi-buffet style, and we were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace in a luxurious setting. Everything was delicious. If I had to mention one thing, when choosing the Japanese main dish you get miso soup, but if you choose something else there’s no soup, which felt a bit disappointing—so I would be happy if there were soup available at the buffet corner. This was my first stay here, but I really liked it and would love to return when traveling to Karuizawa again. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

    We stayed for 2 nigh...

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. All of the staff were very courteous, and we had a comfortable stay throughout. The hot water volume on the Room coffee machine seemed off, but when we contacted the staff, they came right away and explained everything carefully. They also brought the same number of capsules and bottles of water as were originally set in the Room, which we really appreciated. We were also happy with the complimentary drinks and snacks prepared in the Room. We had breakfast at the Hotel both mornings. In addition to several types of salad dressing, there was even sherry vinegar, truffle oil, and truffle salt available, so it was hard to decide which combination to try. Some items on the menu changed between the first and second day, so we enjoyed it without getting bored. The location was also very convenient, with many lovely cafes and shops nearby. Next time, I’d like to choose a Room with a balcony so I can enjoy views of the beautiful garden.

    Thank you for a very comfortable stay. The hospitality was outstanding, and it is a Hotel I would love to visit again. It may not be easy to find the opportunity, but next time I hope to come when we are blessed with clear weather!
