    It was a wonderful trip.

    On the first day, after arriving at the Accommodation and taking a short rest, we went to the large public bath at “Mori no Kaze,” which we had been told about. I was a little surprised that we had to walk to the building across the way, but the bath on the top floor of the Hotel was spacious and offered an amazing view. In the evening, we enjoyed a French dinner. The autumn menu that started that day featured many local ingredients (breakfast did as well), which I really appreciated. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious—very much in true French style. We chose this Accommodation because it offered French cuisine, and it met our expectations perfectly. The next day, check-out was at 11:00, so we had a later breakfast and were able to leave at a relaxed pace. The coffee in our Room was excellent.

    We thoroughly enjoyed the exquisite meals.

    I made a Reservation at this Accommodation to relax in the Room and enjoy great food. From the entrance, the Facility raised my expectations, and the Room was compact yet very satisfying. The meals were also excellent—I was impressed that even the salad could taste so different. The staff were very kind, and I had a wonderful time. However, I was disappointed with the bath and the noise from upstairs. The bath is essentially private-use, but it rarely became available so I had to wait, and the water temperature was low. The in-room bath is nice as well, but it also felt lukewarm. I think this could be resolved by using the bath at the affiliated Hotel next door. The most disappointing issue was noise, which I also saw mentioned in other Review(s). Noise from neighboring rooms wasn’t a problem, but footsteps from the second floor were quite noticeable. It would be helpful if you could post a notice or provide guidance about this.

    The worst Accommodation ever

    This was the worst Accommodation I have ever booked through IKYU. I reserved a detached suite, but despite the free-flowing hot spring, there was no hot water. Even after calling staff, it took two attempts to fix it. Also, meals took far too long to be served. The Diamond member benefit—fruit—was promised but forgotten. The fruit that was eventually provided was inedible and looked like trash. I cannot recommend this Accommodation to anyone.

    The meals and the bath were excellent.

    We stayed for one night and two days. The meals at this Accommodation were outstanding—excellent in both quality and quantity, beautifully presented, and truly delicious. It was French cuisine, yet it didn’t feel heavy at all. Breakfast was Western-style and satisfying, though it was a shame the bread was a little cold. The Onsen was attached to the Room, and I loved the temperature and how soft the water felt. It was a very relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

    Completely satisfied with the excellent cuisine every year.

    I’m so impressed by the French dinner here that I’ve been coming back almost every year, and it’s truly delicious every time—I’m completely satisfied. The only thing I’d like to mention is that, depending on the Room, the drainage in the washing area of the in-room Onsen is poor and the foam doesn’t clear easily, so I hope this can be improved.

    All staff members are very kind.

    In Nasu-Shiobara, taxis are limited and it can be difficult to secure one, but a staff member kindly drove us despite being busy. There were plenty of towels, and the separate pajama set was comfortable. The meals made with local ingredients were also delicious.

    It was wonderful.

    From the warm welcome by the staff to their guidance at mealtimes, everyone was very kind. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious—we were completely satisfied. Also, the Onsen water in our Room was wonderfully soft and felt great for the body, so we ended up soaking many times. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    Used the Pet Plan.

    Used the Pet Plan. The in-room Onsen bath and the meals were satisfying. However, the Room was disappointing—perhaps because it was on the first floor, it smelled musty and was dark, so I couldn’t relax. My family stayed on a non-pet Plan in a second-floor Room, which had no musty smell and was bright and comfortable. The difference was huge.

    Accommodation in Nasu

    We decided to visit an Onsen and made a last-minute Reservation. It’s convenient to have an Accommodation that can be booked even at short notice. The Room has a private Onsen, and the water quality is excellent. There is a terrace that makes you want to enjoy a coffee while looking out over the satoyama countryside, but unfortunately the Onsen equipment is extremely loud. Although the meals are tasty, these disappointments reduce overall satisfaction. Overall, I didn’t feel it was good enough to make me want to return.

    This was our first trip together as sisters in 40 years. The property was very clean, and the Room had a modern design. The creative French cuisine was delicious, and we were very satisfied. Next time, we would like to visit with our family.

    Meals

    The meals were extremely disappointing. I booked a Japanese-style Plan in a different building called Mori no Kaze, but it felt like a large banquet hall at a budget Ryokan—far below expectations. If you charge double the room rate, you shouldn’t be offering the same dinner Plan as Mori no Kaze... I was also uncomfortable with the service clearing dishes one after another while we were still eating. There was no chance to relax at all; it felt more like they wanted us to leave quickly than to provide hospitality. Overall, it was profoundly disappointing.

    The Onsen in the Room was excellent!

    We stayed in “Kinbai.” It was probably one of the higher-grade Rooms at this Accommodation, but overall the stay felt somewhat underwhelming. Still, first, what was excellent. The in-Room bath included both an indoor bath and an open-air bath. The indoor bath was small but comfortable, with a hinoki tub and gentle Onsen water. The open-air bath, while located in a courtyard enclosed by walls, had a good amount of space, and the tub itself was large enough to enjoy comfortably on your own—I really liked it. The Room layout also offered plenty of space across all three areas, and it worked well for our family of three (two parents and one child) to relax. Now for a few points that fell short. Although the guest Room was spacious, the living room sofa was honestly far from relaxing and very uncomfortable to use (the wooden frame was hard, and the leather seat and backrest were cold and slippery). Despite the overall spacious feel of the Room, the vanity/changing area felt cramped. Also, there were no individual skincare/toiletry items provided in the Room—only what appeared to be exactly the same amenities as those available at the adjacent Hotel’s large public bath lined up at the sink. I was very surprised. According to photos on the Hotel’s official website, it seems individual toiletries do exist—so why were they not provided for “Kinbai” this time? Was it because we booked at a discounted rate? Or is this now standard service? Either way, it was disappointing. And then there were meals—the part I had been looking forward to most. Overall I felt moderately satisfied with dinner (a full French course), but although our accommodation Plan stated that ingredients would be upgraded in quality, there was no explanation at all about which ingredients were upgraded. If pricing reflects that upgrade, I think it should be explained without guests having to ask. Dinner tasted good overall; however, even though we stay at Accommodations in a similar price range 4–5 times a year—and despite this being such a recent stay—this is the only place where I can hardly remember which dishes stood out as especially good. Neither flavor nor presentation left much of an impression. One factor that decisively lowered our satisfaction was breakfast: an omelet and sausages—something no different from breakfast at an affordable Hotel? We also stayed as a trial visit to see whether we could use this Accommodation for hosting people who have helped us in the future—but unfortunately it wasn’t at that level, which is very disappointing.

    Thank you very much. This trip also celebrated my mother’s 88th birthday. The attentive service from all the staff, the delicious meals, and even a surprise for my mother made her truly happy. It was wonderful.

    The in-room bath was very pleasant. It was disappointing that noise from the floor above echoed loudly until late at night, making it hard to sleep.

    A Relaxing Getaway

    The food is delicious. It seems something was spilled on the floor before, leaving stains, and it felt sticky. The footsteps from upstairs were loud at night. All the staff were polite and helpful. The stay allows plenty of time, so you can relax. I would consider staying again if I have the chance.

    New Dog-Friendly Room

    We stayed in the Doggie Room, newly opened last October, and at first we were worried it might be an issue, but it was actually quieter than the Rooms near the parking lot. Our two dogs, who usually bark when they sense people nearby, didn’t bark at all, and since it’s an indoor corridor we were able to stay warm and comfortable. The meal was the highly rated crab kaiseki course, and it was very delicious. The quality of the hot spring water here works very well for my wife’s chapped hands. We look forward to staying again.

    I stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and the service, Room, and Onsen were all excellent. It’s a Hotel I would love to visit again.

    The Japanese-modern Room and various types of baths, especially the in-room hinoki bath, were wonderful. Despite the busy year-end and New Year period, the meals were also delicious. However, a couple of concerns include being informed at check-in that dinner would start 10 minutes earlier but many guests still had to wait about 10 minutes in front of the dining area, as well as difficulty connecting to the front desk via internal phone. Overall, this stay was highly satisfying. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The location was a bit inconvenient for those using public transportation. There is a shuttle service from Nasu-Shiobara Station, but despite the Diamond benefit allowing a 12:00 checkout, the last shuttle was at 11:10, which was disappointing. The facility was quiet, and the Onsen was very relaxing. The meals were satisfying in both taste and portion size. However, even though we informed them in advance about an apple allergy, the welcome drink turned out to be apple juice, which surprised us. That said, the juice was so delicious that I ended up enjoying both servings myself. The Onsen is free-flowing with excellent water quality and temperature—one of my favorites! I’ve never spent so much time in an onsen bath in my room before—it truly helped me relax.

    I had a relaxing time.

    We visited to enjoy the autumn leaves and Onsen. The autumn foliage in Nasu-Shiobara was at its peak and absolutely beautiful. The meals at the accommodation were very delicious, and we relaxed by soaking in the Onsen multiple times.

    The meals are excellent.

    We stayed here for a couple's trip to Nasu and were extremely satisfied. The highlight was the creative French cuisine for dinner, which used homegrown vegetables, fruits, and plenty of local Nasu ingredients. Everything was delicious, focusing on quality over quantity, and we finished every dish together. The room's hinoki bath wasn't open-air but allowed us to enjoy Onsen at any time as much as we liked, making it a relaxing experience with multiple baths. The bath in the courtyard had charm; however, its size felt a bit awkward when sharing with other guests, making it less comfortable. It might be better suited as a private bath given its size. While the accommodation fee isn't particularly cheap, this place offers satisfaction that exceeds its cost. If there's another opportunity, we'd love to stay longer with a multiple night stay next time!

    I felt completely refreshed.

    This time, during the autumn foliage season, we stayed at your accommodation for the first time and felt completely relaxed both physically and mentally. We also enjoyed a leisurely trip as a couple. We are grateful for the hospitality of all the staff at Shikikan. We would like to visit again during the fresh green season in the future.     I visited for a birthday trip. The weather was great, and the autumn leaves were beautiful! We checked in early and enjoyed the Onsen at the Hotel. The view from the panoramic bath was amazing. Dinner was a delicious and beautifully presented French meal, perfect for celebrating a birthday. The staff surprised us with a birthday plate and a song as a gift—thank you so much!     I had a relaxing time!

    We visited to enjoy a relaxing Onsen experience as a couple. We were very satisfied with the variety of baths, including the Onsen in our room, the open-air bath in the courtyard, and the large public bath surrounded by forest breezes. The French cuisine featuring an autumn menu was delightful from appetizers to desserts—beautifully presented and delicious, making every moment exciting.     This time, I stayed in a Japanese-style room and was very satisfied with both the room and the onsen. The onsen, including the open-air bath and the private bath in the room, featured wooden bathtubs, which were excellent. The meals were also delicious and highly satisfying. Both breakfast and dinner were served in a private dining room, providing a calm atmosphere. The dinner (French cuisine) was especially exquisite, and breakfast was also delightful.
