    The Ultimate Bathing Experience

We were very satisfied with the spacious large public bath and the many open-air baths. We had Italian cuisine for dinner and were surprised by how much there was—more than we could finish. Next time, we would like to bring our children and grandchildren. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing stay.

We stayed as a family of three adults. The staff were very courteous. We chose Italian for dinner. It was fairly standard, but the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the Room felt a bit smaller than it looked on the website. It would be perfect if more effort were put into the garden so guests could take a walk around it.

    Enjoy a highland resort getaway.

A clean Facility in a scenic location surrounded by greenery. The meals were like creative Japanese cuisine. Staff were at the Facility entrance and provided support. Although it was peak season, I felt there was a system in place to prevent crowding.

    Highly satisfied

I stayed here for one night with my daughter. The Room had tatami beds, and the lower eye level compared to a Western-style room made it a relaxing space. It was perfect for spending time unwinding in the Room, and there was a great selection of tea and coffee. The bath Facility was excellent, and I could relax in the open-air bath while enjoying the view. I’d love to stay again.

Enjoy a close-up view of the majestic Nasu Mountain Range.

I stayed for two nights starting July 22. This time, my Room faced the Nasu mountain range, so the view was wonderful. The meals were delicious again. Since this was my second stay in July, you kindly changed the menu for me. Next time, I’ll visit with my children and their family.

We highly recommend the meals and the sauna.

My wife and I stayed here recently. The large public bath on the top floor offered spectacular views. The sauna was spacious, and the cold bath was around 15°C, which felt great. There were five chairs outside, but a reclining chair would be preferable since a table isn’t necessary. I also wondered why there were no washable sauna mats to sit on, which are commonly provided elsewhere. Despite that, the towel mats were not replaced during the three hours we were there. It didn’t feel hygienic or comfortable. The grape juice and ice bars after bathing were an excellent service. We truly enjoyed the special Japanese kaiseki meal—it was delicious and very satisfying. Overall, while there are some improvements needed regarding the sauna facilities, this is an Accommodation I would recommend and would like to visit again.

    The meals were absolutely delicious.

We stayed on a weekday Multiple Night Stay. Dinner was Italian on the first night and Japanese on the second, and each dish was carefully prepared and truly delicious. The open-air bath is on the rooftop, spacious, and offers a magnificent view of the Nasu mountains up close. Free drinks and ice cream were available, which felt like a great bonus. The service was excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay.

    Plenty of baths.

On the 7th floor, you’ll find a wide variety of baths to enjoy, including an indoor bath, an open-air bath, a sauna, a reclining bath, and a silky bath. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great on the day of our visit so we couldn’t see the Nasu mountain range, but on a clear day the view must be spectacular!

    Excellent value for money

We chose the full-course creative Italian dinner and a Western-style breakfast, and enjoyed them by the refreshing window view—everything was very satisfying. The bath, including the spacious open-air bath, was also excellent. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    It was very good.

We stayed for the first time with two families on a weekend in May 2026. The parking lot was fairly spacious and easy to use, but we almost mistakenly turned into the second parking lot on the left before reaching the Hotel. If possible, I would like the guidance signs to be larger and easier to understand. As soon as we parked, a staff member came over and helped carry our luggage. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but their Japanese was very good and we had no problems. The Room had tatami space as well as beds, which made it easy to relax. The view from the Room window covered a wide area, with beautiful greenery—very impressive. Both dinner and breakfast were a Western course meal. Dinner was described as “Spring Creative Italian,” and all hot dishes were served properly hot, so everything was delicious. The Onsen on the top floor has both an indoor bath and an outdoor bath. Both are spacious, so you can relax comfortably. There are four types of open-air baths; around sunset in the evening, the glowing sky setting behind Mt. Chausu was truly breathtaking. Thank you very much!

    The meals were disappointing.

We stayed for two nights. The Japanese meal was not good—the sashimi was not fresh, and the beef hot pot was only average for a Ryokan. The Italian meal: the spaghetti was good, the pizza was average, but the other dishes were poor—especially the final beef dish, which was unacceptable.

    マルタ島カラバッジョ

    Questionable value for money

With its high Review ratings and top-tier pricing as a pet-friendly Hotel, I was looking forward to my stay—but in a word, it was disappointing. The Room was a Superior type with two connected tatami rooms, one of which had twin beds. The front tatami room was extremely cramped, and since it’s on the second floor, the first-floor roof gets in the way and the view is poor. The pet amenities were the kind you find anywhere. Hot water at the sink only trickled out; it happened to be fine on a hot day, but in winter it would be complaint-worthy. Dinner was Italian, but overall it fell short. The highly rated pizza from Reviews has a thin crust, but there are no toppings near the edges, making it hard to eat the outer part. Sorry to say this, but family restaurants or delivery pizza—or any of the many Italian restaurants in Nasu—are better. The pasta was overly salty, and the main dish was a single thin slice of beef wrapped around mushrooms. The dog run is not on-site; you have to go down about 30 meters via stairs made from old logs. It’s overgrown with grass so badly that thrown balls disappear from sight. Around the dog run is an open area with hammocks and benches sitting in tall grass. If you push through that tall grass there’s a boardwalk—so when people call this a “walking course,” do they mean this? The stairs hardly qualify as a walking course. The only thing that deserves top marks at this Hotel is the Onsen: the view is spectacular, and everything—the water quality and open-air bath—seems far superior to other Hotels. Still, unfortunately I won’t be returning next time.

The Facility and amenities are clean, but the service is below average.

The Facility and amenities are kept clean, so you can stay with peace of mind. The meals are average for both breakfast and dinner. However, there were many issues with the service. When I asked for water during the meal, they replied “Understood,” but both times it was ignored. At the front desk as well, I requested help with a Wi-Fi issue, but it ultimately remained unresolved. Since networks require specialized knowledge, that part is understandable, but it felt off that they assumed it was a problem with my device without properly checking the situation.

We were able to relax and unwind comfortably.

As it was the year my brother turned 60 and my parents turned 88, we stayed to celebrate, taking the opportunity of an off-season visit to our family grave. Perhaps because it was the quiet period before Golden Week, it wasn’t crowded and we were able to relax at ease. Since I had mentioned the celebration when booking, the Hotel kindly prepared a congratulatory dessert plate at dinner and even took photos for us. It became a wonderful memory, and we are truly grateful. One slightly disappointing point was that I had assumed late-night soba is generally served free of charge (and there was no indication that it would be paid), but when checking out at the self-service payment machine, we were charged JPY 1,100 for two servings as a late-night soba fee. If there is a charge, I would have appreciated clearer notice. That said, we had a very pleasant stay overall. Thank you very much.

    Lots of artwork

I enjoyed the artwork throughout the property—Cassignol paintings covering an entire wall in the restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast, and lovely oil-painted landscapes along the corridors. It was a real treat for the eyes. In the morning, soaking in the open-air bath while looking out over the Nasu mountains and listening to birdsong felt truly luxurious. I chose a Japanese-style room, but with a dog it required quite a bit of extra care. The toilet pad provided was small and raised, so if I have another chance to stay, I plan to bring our own pad from home. That said, there were plenty of pet sheets available, which was very helpful. Both dinner and breakfast were Western-style set meals rather than a buffet, so we could take our time. Everything tasted great. I was concerned about an accident that happened at another table. Since it wasn’t intentional, I hope it can be handled with understanding when offering guidance.

    We visited on the st...

We visited on the strawberry-picking Plan. It is a fairly expensive Hotel, but there was no guidance to our Room, and the woman at the front desk was not very friendly, which made us a little uneasy. The Room was clean, spacious, and nice. Perhaps because it is well sealed, it was hot at night and uncomfortable to sleep. The samue loungewear is polyester and uncomfortable enough to cause static electricity, so I think cotton would be better, or yukata would be fine. The Onsen was clean, spacious, and wonderful. The only disappointment was that the hair dryer felt old and had weak airflow. We chose Japanese cuisine for dinner. Overall the seasoning was on the sweet side and gave me heartburn, but that is a matter of preference, and I felt each dish was prepared very carefully. In terms of service: even after ordering drinks they took a long time to arrive (we waited about 15 minutes; since there is no aperitif included we couldn’t start eating), when they did arrive they were different from what we ordered, explanations were too fast to understand clearly, staff came over asking “Did you call?” even when we hadn’t—overall it felt like many of the staff were beginners as hotel professionals. I hope they can improve. For the late-night soba service as well, it wasn’t clear where to order it from, so various services felt uncertain. The soba itself tasted good. Our child enjoyed playing with the shooting game. Was the cotton candy machine not available? Breakfast was Western-style. We had a Reservation for 7:10, but please note that you can only enter the restaurant exactly at your time slot. Here too many staff seemed inexperienced—to the point where we felt we had to be considerate…. One woman (Vietnamese?) was the only one who truly seemed like a professional hotelier. The food here was lightly seasoned and lacked saltiness…. The vegetables seemed fresh. For strawberry picking, an older male staff member was very kind and gentle. The strawberries were small and some were damaged in places, but we chose good-looking ones and ate plenty—we were very satisfied. We used the Shuttle Service bus; however, since it runs according to check-in/check-out times—and in Nasu there are few public transportation options so you can’t really get around without a car—I would be very happy if there were Shuttle Service buses available across a wider range of timeslots.

    Moderate

The bath was very nice. However, my husband said that someone took the bath towel he had placed in the locker while he was bathing. It wasn't the hotel's fault, but it was unfortunate. As for meal service, perhaps because the staff were inexperienced, it felt a bit awkward and lacked some attentiveness in serving. Considering it was during a busy season, this might have been unavoidable. It seems like this accommodation would be more satisfying if not during such a busy period.

    Wonderful Onsen and delicious meals.

The rooftop open-air bath offers a great view during the day and is very relaxing. We had Japanese cuisine this time, and the portions were just right with a satisfying variety of dishes (though it might feel a bit light for men). The taste was refined and delicious. We stayed in a room that allows pets, and while the room itself wasn't very spacious, it was clean with no noticeable odors. I would love to stay here again when traveling with my dog. *Some minor points: Positive Points & Negative Points* 〇 Positive Points: - A trash bin for used pet sheets that prevents odors from escaping; having the cage next to the bed was very convenient. - Towels were pre-set in both the room and bathroom, plus two sets of bath towels per person were provided. - The towel rack in the room could hold many items at once. - There was a sliding door between the bedroom and entrance area, which added a sense of security. - The lockers in the bathing area had small lockable boxes inside for valuables—this type of setup is rare among accommodations I've visited but highly appreciated. × Negative Points: - It would be nice to have small shelves inside the bathing area to place items like pouches brought along. - A microwave specifically for preparing pet meals would be helpful. - While I could sense effort from staff serving meals, their explanations about dishes felt unpolished, which slightly detracted from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.

    Family Accommodation

The staff were exceptionally hospitable, making my stay very pleasant. The service at the front desk and restaurant was excellent, and the campfire event, despite the cold weather, was well-prepared and became a wonderful memory. I would love to stay here again.

Stayed at the accommodation for a family trip.

We stayed at the accommodation for a small family trip. It was impressive to see high reviews about the large public bath on every site. After making the reservation, I realized that this hotel is part of the same group as Hotel Higashi Nihon Utsunomiya. Hotel Higashi Nihon Utsunomiya is a prestigious and long-established hotel frequently used for local corporate dinners and medical study meetings. Perhaps because of this, the service, meals, and bath facilities at this hotel were overall very satisfying as well. We traveled with a toddler, and even the kids' dinner was luxurious, which made our 3-year-old very happy. There was a shooting game in the lobby, and the staff were incredibly kind to us. Although there seemed to be guests with dogs staying as well, we didn’t notice it at all—no smells or noises whatsoever. It was an enjoyable weekend trip, and we would love to stay again!

    Standard.

This accommodation was chosen for its pet-friendly policy, allowing pets to stay together with their owners. While it is not particularly "pet-friendly" in terms of special services, the necessary supplies for pets were provided, so there were no inconveniences. The guest rooms, amenities, service, facility quality, and meals are at an average level overall. However, the onsen and water quality were exceptional. The onsen initially feels lukewarm but leaves you sweating long after bathing—proof that it warms you to your core. This truly captures the essence of an onsen experience. Additionally, having a "cooling area" after bathing enhances the enjoyment of the onsen and deserves high praise. The view of Nasu Highlands from the open-air bath was breathtakingly beautiful. For dinner, I chose Italian cuisine; however, it felt more like a casual Italian restaurant in terms of quality. As for breakfast—the lukewarm soup and omelet were disappointing and did not seem freshly prepared at all. It likely involved reheated frozen food; however, proper temperature management would have made a significant difference here. A buffet might have been preferable in this case. In summary: while the onsen was outstanding, other aspects remained average overall.

    Extremely comfortable accommodation! A must-stay.

We booked this accommodation after reading reviews, aiming to enjoy the autumn leaves, Nasu Highland Park, and Nasu Safari Park. (Both are about a 10-minute drive away.) The result? Absolutely amazing! First of all, the staff's service was excellent. From reception to the restaurant and souvenir shop, every staff member was incredibly kind to children. They maintained a comfortable distance while providing heartfelt and attentive service. Next, the cleanliness of the room and bath was outstanding. I’ve stayed at more expensive hotels where rooms were nice but found hair scattered around the large public bath area near hairdryers—very disappointing! However, I used this facility’s bath three times during my stay, and it was spotless each time with no trash anywhere! Additionally, there were so many thoughtful touches everywhere that made things convenient for guests. While the room wasn’t particularly spacious or meals extraordinarily gourmet (though they were delicious with no complaints), guest satisfaction here is exceptionally high with fantastic cost performance for an accommodation like this. I definitely want to come back again with friends or parents!

    I had a relaxing time.

I stayed with my dog. The room's facilities were excellent. There was a notice asking to keep dogs in a cage inside the facility, which I understand since not everyone is traveling with pets, but it felt a bit inconvenient. Both dinner and breakfast used local ingredients and were delicious. The bath was spacious and very relaxing. Overall, it’s a nice hotel where you can unwind comfortably.

The best accommodation for staying with pets

This is my second stay following last year. The room was clean with no pet odors, the meals were delicious, and above all, the Onsen was amazing. Pet supplies were well-stocked, and the bed was very comfortable. I would love to visit again next year.

    Completely satisfied!!!

We visited as a group of four, including my in-laws. First of all, it is a very beautiful Hotel. Everything you need is provided, from the Room to the bath area, including yukata, shampoo, hair ties, and even a humidifier. The bath on the 7th floor was truly impressive. Although it was unfortunately cloudy that day, bathing while enjoying the magnificent view was incredibly relaxing. According to my father-in-law, the morning bath offered an amazing view of the sunrise. The bath area also had various shampoos and conditioners to choose from and treats like ice pops and fruit vinegar outside—everything was perfectly arranged for comfort. Dinner was absolutely delicious! Even though my parents usually prefer Western cuisine over Japanese food, they were completely satisfied. The meal was so good that we all had second servings of chestnut rice! Since it happened to be my birthday that day, we received a commemorative photo as well—it became a wonderful memory of our trip. We are deeply grateful to all the staff at the Hotel for their hospitality. Thank you very much!

Completely Satisfied with Multiple Night Stay and Japanese Cuisine

Staying multiple nights at this luxury ryokan offers a different culinary experience each day. This time, we enjoyed an exquisite autumn-themed meal featuring matsutake mushrooms, chestnuts, walnuts, sweet potatoes, Pacific saury, and more. The aromas, flavors, textures, and vibrant presentation of the dishes were truly delightful and satisfying. The rooftop open-air bath provided a refreshing experience with the crisp autumn breeze against the skin and a dynamic view of clouds swirling from the midsection to the peak of the Nasu mountain range.

    Experience Autumn

Traditional Japanese cuisine at Miyabi features carefully prepared seasonal ingredients such as chestnuts and matsutake mushrooms, beautifully presented to evoke the essence of autumn in both taste and appearance. On the rooftop open-air bath, you can enjoy the refreshing autumn breeze while occasionally spotting white-tailed eagles soaring above. The facility offers three barrel baths with varying temperatures—mild, medium, and hot—to suit your preference. Additionally, there are rock baths and cypress baths; it would be delightful if one of them featured milder temperatures or special options like yuzu or herbal-infused water for a unique experience.
