    You'll want to come back, won't you?

    Escape the ordinary in just about an hour by bus from Umeda. With professional hospitality, delicious meals, and everything else you could ask for, this is a wonderful Onsen Ryokan. Whenever I visit Arima, this is my go-to place. I absolutely love Shisui!

    First Time at Shisui

    At check-in, the 5:30 PM dining slot advertised on the official site was fully booked, and we were informed of a 7:00 PM dining time. It would be appreciated if meal time selection could be made during the reservation process. After making a request, we were eventually accommodated for the 5:30 PM dining time. Having stayed several times at your sister accommodation "Choraku," we noticed differences in service levels. The women's bath water was reportedly cold for bathing purposes. At 3:30 PM, long hair was found on the bed. However, both dinner and breakfast meals were satisfying along with their service quality. Including meal time options in reservation questions would be greatly appreciated.

    It was the best accommodation.

    It was our first visit to Arima Onsen as a couple, and it became a wonderful memory. From the shuttle service between the station and the accommodation, the warm welcome at the entrance, complimentary welcome drinks and desserts during check-in, guidance to our room, to the meals served at the restaurant—every detail was filled with heartfelt hospitality, allowing us to have an incredibly pleasant stay. The building and facilities were new and clean, with a calm atmosphere that exceeded our expectations for an accommodation. We regret planning an early departure time as it felt like we missed out on fully enjoying our stay; next time we would love to visit at a more leisurely pace. Thank you very much!

    A Relaxing Moment Nearby

    This is my third visit. The highlight is being able to enjoy both the Kinsen and Ginsen hot springs at Chouraku—truly exceptional quality. Additionally, I love the meals at Shisui; they are incredibly delicious. Dinner features seasonal delicacies with beautifully presented dishes and thoughtful touches. For breakfast, SoraCafe offers a variety of breads that leave me completely satisfied. I look forward to visiting again in a different season. Thank you for always providing such wonderful hospitality!

    It was a pleasant holiday.

    From the initial communication and shuttle service to the station on the day of arrival, to the warm hospitality after reaching the accommodation, everything was excellent. The renovated interior was calm and pleasant. The bath is indeed small, but since you can use the large bath in the main building, it was sufficient to use that on arrival day and this one in the morning! The meals were visually appealing, delicious, and very satisfying. The room was spacious with a nice Japanese-modern style. Additionally, although we only had water, beer and juice in the refrigerator were complimentary. We didn’t use the lounge at night, but it seems great for those who enjoy drinks! It’s true that there are many stairs up to the entrance and inside the building; for those with mobility issues, perhaps staying in the main building would be better. However, this place had a more charming atmosphere overall.

    Excellent Accommodation

    This was my first time staying here. The accommodation was very clean, and I could feel the thoughtful touches everywhere. The food was delicious and filling, the onsen was relaxing, and the room was spotless. At checkout, I was kindly offered to have my luggage stored and delivered to the station after sightseeing, which allowed me to explore freely without any burden. This service saved me from having to search for a coin locker near the station. My friend and I agreed that we definitely want to come back here again and would recommend this accommodation for anyone visiting Arima Onsen. The autumn leaves were beautiful, making it a truly pleasant holiday experience. Thank you for your hospitality!

    The golden Onsen is exceptional.

    Arima Onsen has been famous for a long time, so I was very excited about my stay, and the Onsen exceeded my expectations. The private Onsen had both Kinsen and Ginsen in the same room, allowing me to enjoy both, which was wonderful. The coffee, tea, and snacks service upon arrival, as well as the evening alcohol and snack service, made my stay very enjoyable. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious; I particularly recommend the Western-style breakfast. However, since the room floor did not have underfloor heating and there were no slippers provided initially, I had to request them from the front desk. It would have been better if they were available in the room from the start. Other than that small issue, everything was excellent! I would love to visit again.

    The customer service is exceptional.

    At check-in, we were assisted by a foreign staff member who spoke fluently and explained everything clearly. Noticing that my elderly mother was using a cane, they kindly guided us to the 3rd-floor entrance with fewer stairs. When we requested half portions of rice during our meal due to the generous servings, the staff asked if we would like dessert brought to our room and thoughtfully prepared it for us there. Upon departure, when using the shuttle service, they carried our luggage to the main building where the bus departs and waited with us until it left, seeing us off warmly. The large communal bath seemed not very big at first glance; however, since there were hardly any other guests present at that time, I thought it might be quiet today. Surprisingly though, the dining area was fully booked! Despite this number of guests staying at the property, I could enjoy what felt like a private experience in the bath. Additionally, being able to enjoy Onsen facilities in both buildings was delightful. I visited the open-air bath in the main building after dinner and had another relaxing private-like experience there as well. I truly appreciated everyone's bright smiles and greetings throughout my stay—it’s impossible to list all their wonderful hospitality here! Thank you so much for such an amazing experience. I look forward to visiting again!

    Used for an anniversary trip.

    First time at Arima Onsen. Although the accommodation is located slightly away from the onsen town, it’s just 30 minutes from Kobe Sannomiya and offers a pick-up service to the station, so there was no inconvenience. The meals were creative Japanese cuisine, served with great care one by one. Everything was delicious, and it paired perfectly with drinks. We were pleasantly surprised to enjoy more drinks in the lounge after dinner. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff provided excellent service with great attention to detail. The onsen offered both Kinsen (golden hot spring) and Ginsen (silver hot spring), which were very relaxing and warming. The men's bath seemed a bit small, but during our stay, we had a chance to use Chōraku's onsen once as well, allowing us to enjoy both types of hot springs—this was a nice touch (it would be even better if it were free). It turned out to be a wonderful trip for our wedding anniversary!

    Family Wedding Celebration

    We stayed for one night as a family of four women. Upon informing the staff that we were celebrating my sister's wedding, they kindly prepared a small gift, individual portions of red rice for each of us, and a dessert plate service. Thanks to their thoughtful gestures, we had an incredibly wonderful time. Both dinner and breakfast were made with carefully selected ingredients and were absolutely delicious.

    It was excellent.

    The shuttle service driver was very kind, which made my stay very pleasant from the start. I wanted to share this and decided to write a review for the first time. Each dish was incredibly delicious, and it paired perfectly with drinks. This time, I chose a plan without a bath in the room, but I was still very satisfied.     This is my second visit, as I stayed here last year as well. It’s a wonderful Hotel, very clean, and the staff are all courteous, making my stay very pleasant. However, this time the meals were served quite quickly, which made me feel rushed to eat. I wish the service could be paced a bit more leisurely.

We were warmly welcomed at the Hotel parking lot, offered a welcome drink during check-in, and given an explanation of how to use the Room. The Shuttle Service to Arima Onsen town was convenient, and the beautifully presented and delicious meals were exceptional. The attentive care from the staff left us deeply impressed. The atmosphere inside the Hotel was lovely, and the private open-air bath in our Room was absolutely amazing. It became a truly memorable trip for us. Thank you so much! We hope to visit again.

    I was very satisfied.

    We stayed as a group of two friends. Since we were traveling by private car, we informed you in advance over the phone that we might be late for check-in due to traffic conditions. However, we arrived much earlier than expected. As there was still time before check-in, you kindly offered Shuttle Service so that we could explore the town. The snacks at check-in, drinks in the Room's refrigerator, meals, bath, lounge alcohol and snacks—all exceeded our expectations and left us extremely satisfied. After returning home and sharing my experience with colleagues at work, they looked up your place saying they'd love to stay there if they ever visit Arima! (laughs) I also hope to visit again next time with my family. Thank you very much!

    The bath is excellent.

    During the Check Reservation process, we contacted you several times before the stay. Regarding the Shuttle Service, we were informed that "it’s about 5 minutes from the station, so please take care," which led us to believe there was no Shuttle Service and decided to walk. However, the path to the building involved a steep slope and was not suitable for walking, so clearer guidance would have been appreciated. Although there was some inconvenience due to ongoing construction, it did not particularly bother us. The meals were all elaborate and delicious; however, as we arrived after visiting Expo, lighter options might have been preferable. The Room was spacious and very satisfying.

    First Time at Arima Onsen

    The road next to the traffic signal was easy to find thanks to checking it on Street View beforehand. The dining area offered a great view from its elevated location. Although it is a bit far from the center of Arima Onsen, I found the quiet atmosphere very pleasant. The dinner portions were quite generous, and as an older couple, we were so full that we couldn't enjoy the lounge or bar afterward, which was unfortunate. However, dinner itself was excellent with creative use of ingredients and cooking methods from appetizers to dessert—it perfectly suited my taste. Breakfast had three options; I chose Eggs Benedict, which was plentiful enough that I didn’t need lunch later. The Room's Onsen featured Kinsen (possibly mixed?), which added a special touch and felt luxurious. However, due to its high salt content causing dehydration, long baths weren’t possible—this was slightly disappointing. Since it made me thirsty, having more tea or water stocked in the fridge would have been appreciated. One concern was the weak water pressure in both the shower and sink area. Overall though, this accommodation provided a highly satisfying stay! I look forward to returning in the future—thank you!

    It was excellent.

    My first visit to Arima Onsen, and it was a truly wonderful accommodation. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were very delicious.     Stayed at the accommodation for a sisterhood gathering.

    We stayed at the accommodation as I had business in Osaka, along with my younger sister and a cousin who grew up like a sister to us and lives in Osaka. My cousin was delighted since she rarely gets the chance to stay at an Onsen despite living nearby. I chose this place because when I previously stayed here with my husband, the meals were delicious, and we had a great experience. The room seemed to have been renovated since then, as everything was sparkling clean. Initially, we struggled with adjusting the lighting but found it very convenient once we figured it out. We brought swimsuits enthusiastically as we heard that guests could use Chōraku's outdoor pool; however, unfortunately, it rained so we couldn't use it. Despite that, we enjoyed the lounge area, Chōraku's baths, and even attended a mini-concert held there at night—it turned out to be quite eventful! Both dinner and breakfast were perfectly portioned and absolutely delicious. The variety of drinks available during dinner was impressive and reasonably priced. The on-site baths featured both golden (Kinsen) and silver (Ginsen) Onsen waters. Additionally, the massage chairs in the post-bath relaxation salon were incredibly soothing. It was such a fulfilling stay that all three of us left extremely satisfied!

    Disappointing Accommodation

    I was very disappointed despite this being a Ryokan under the Chouraku Group. Is this considered a casual-rank accommodation? The staff's service was extremely poor. They walked ahead during guidance without looking back. They didn’t listen to guests (to the point where it felt like being ignored). They asked the same questions multiple times. Guests were made to yield in hallways, only for the staff to block them afterward. There was no sense of attentiveness or care at this accommodation. When I used Chouraku’s Onsen, I experienced warm and attentive service with kind words from the staff. I am surprised by how different it is within the same group. Although it is stated that there are sweets & tea and nightcaps available in the lounge, it was very cramped and crowded, with no replenishment at all; even after making us wait for so long, nothing was said by the staff. It didn’t feel appropriate to call it a lounge. The facility itself was well-cleaned, and the food was delicious—this was my only solace during my stay. I sincerely hope improvements will be made.

    For my first trip to Arima Onsen, I was unsure which accommodation to choose, but I decided on this one because of its excellent reviews. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The wood-grain design of the walls and furniture added a sense of luxury and calmness to the room. The onsen facilities were available in both the main building and annex, making it a great value. The main building's onsen was particularly impressive with its spacious layout and open-air bath, providing a highly satisfying experience. For dinner, we were informed that choosing an earlier dining time would come with a complimentary drink. We opted for an earlier time and enjoyed dining during a quieter period. It felt peaceful and like an extra treat. The meal itself exceeded expectations in presentation and taste; the timing of each dish being served was perfect, accompanied by detailed explanations from attentive staff who provided excellent service. It was Japanese-French cuisine that could be enjoyed with chopsticks, allowing us to dine comfortably without any formality. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations! We will definitely return again!

    It was excellent.

    Despite being located in the tourist destination of Arima Onsen, the Hotel was quiet, charming, and wonderful. I had the chance to experience Chōraku's baths and thoroughly enjoyed the Gold and Silver Onsen. The staff were all kind with warm smiles, and the food was delicious, making for an exceptional stay.     A one-night, two-day visit to Arima Onsen turned out to be an amazing experience.

    I stayed for one night and two days, and it was a very satisfying experience. There was Shuttle Service to the Onsen town and luggage transportation service, and at check-in, I was offered a welcome drink and light snacks. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the Onsen was incredibly relaxing. Above all, the hospitality and thoughtfulness of both Chouraku's staff and Shisui's staff were truly heartwarming, allowing me to have a relaxing time. Thank you very much!

    Simply the best.

    From the ambiance of the building to the welcome drink and cake upon arrival... and the cleanliness of the room! Everything was absolutely wonderful! Since I stayed during weekdays, it was less crowded, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing time. I was able to forget my busy daily life and feel completely refreshed! I would love to visit again!

    Perfect for solo female travelers

    The tea space offers tea and snacks, and the room is compact but comfortable. Breakfast can be chosen from three options. The bath is small, but there are tickets available to enjoy the larger baths at Chōraku. It’s great for solo travelers, but there are limited days when solo accommodation is available. It would be nice if more days were offered for solo stays.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    It was a girls' trip with an average age of 77, and we were able to enjoy our stay with peace of mind thanks to the attentive service. The detailed care regarding the Shuttle Service provided during the prior phone call was truly touching. Thanks to this, our long-awaited reunion trip turned out to be wonderful.     This was my first visit, and I was delighted to find a private bath in the room. The hot water was perfect, allowing me to enjoy multiple relaxing baths. The meals were delicious and very satisfying! The facility had a quiet and calming atmosphere. One minor downside was the presence of stairs within the building and at the entrance, which made it less accessible for those requiring barrier-free access. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I would love to return for another relaxing stay!

    You can enjoy a quiet and relaxing stay.

    We stayed here to celebrate a 60th birthday. Since we wanted to enjoy the Onsen and meals without sightseeing, we chose this accommodation. Located away from the bustling area of Arima Onsen, it was quiet with beautiful mountain views and a lovely Ryokan atmosphere. The staff were always attentive and considerate, ensuring there were no delays or confusion during our stay. While the Shisui bath is sufficient, you can also use the Chojyuraku bath, which is larger and more elaborate—highly recommended! I used Chojyuraku first after checking in at 3 PM when it was almost like having a private bath. Later around 9 PM, as many guests seemed to be in the lounge after dinner, I enjoyed Shisui in a similarly quiet setting. The meals were absolutely delicious with excellent quality and quantity. The presentation was delightful, service timing impeccable, and we even received celebratory red rice for the occasion. Aside from drinks during dinner, beverages and snacks in the lounge as well as drinks in your room are complimentary. We were pleasantly surprised by offerings such as cakes during tea time, alcohol during bar time, and beer stocked in the fridge! Even at checkout time, you can relax with tea before leaving—it’s truly an accommodation where you can unwind completely at your own pace. Having stayed at several accommodations in Arima Onsen before, this one has been our favorite so far—we definitely plan to return!
