    We had a great time.

    As we did last year, we stayed again this year for our cousins’ trip. Unfortunately, the weather was bad last year, but this year it was sunny, so we decided to definitely use Choraku’s pool. At check-in, we enjoyed delicious tea and sweets in the lounge, then rested a bit in our Room before heading to Choraku. We went into the pool (there were lots of children, but we still enjoyed it), and then used Choraku’s open-air bath. After returning, it was time for dinner. The meal was delicious again this time. The main dish at dinner was venison, which had no gamey smell and tasted great. There were also various drinks that paired well with the food, and this time we ordered the wine pairing. The price was very reasonable. After dinner we took a short break, then went back to Choraku to enjoy a mini concert. After returning, we had a nightcap in the lounge, took another bath, and went to bed. In the morning we woke up slowly, took another bath, and then had breakfast. This time we could choose between Japanese-style or Western-style breakfast; since the bread served here is incredibly good, we chose Western-style and asked for all types of bread so the three of us could share a little of each. We had tea in the lounge again, returned to our Room to pack up our belongings—and then it was already time to check out. The staff were pleasant, the Room was clean and comfortable—an easy Hotel to relax in—and since you can also enjoy Choraku’s Facilities and events as well, there’s plenty to do. We had another wonderful stay this time too. We’re planning our cousins’ trip here again next year as well—thank you in advance.

    Absolutely flawless!

    I stayed for one night starting on Saturday after work. It was a truly satisfying stay in every way—hospitality, service, meals, Onsen, and baths—all of which helped me forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Since Arima Onsen is close to Kobe, I often visit for day trips, but this reminded me that if you have an Accommodation like this with nothing to complain about, staying overnight is definitely the better choice. The only drawback was that there were quite a few stairs, which I assume can’t be helped due to the location. Still, it’s an Accommodation I would absolutely like to return to.

    It’s not bad, but…

    Thank you for the Diamond Member sparkling wine benefit. We enjoyed it very much. This time, I stayed with my wife and her mother (three of us). For my mother-in-law, who has difficulty walking, the stairs down to the Accommodation entrance were tough. When I checked the website carefully, it did mention the stairs. For guests with mobility issues, I cannot really recommend this Accommodation. I requested a stool in the Room for changing shoes for my mother-in-law, but it was never brought until the end of our stay. I also called in advance about amenities, but this was not corrected and amenities for two men were prepared. The Room was clean, but it felt smaller than in the photos. It was cramped for three people. The food was delicious. The main dish was venison (game meat), but since tastes vary with game meat, it would be better if guests could choose from about two main options. The large public bath at Shisui is small. We were told we could use Choraku in the main building, but there was a restriction that we could only use it once. There is also no connecting corridor to Choraku, so on rainy days you have to go with an umbrella. It would be helpful if these points could be improved in the future.

    Thank you for the wonderful memories.

    Thank you for taking care of us on our first family trip in a long time. We made our Reservation because we were drawn by the meals, and they exceeded our expectations—everyone in the family truly enjoyed them. A trainee assisted us at dinner and provided attentive service. They seemed nervous and didn’t smile much, but we hope they keep up the good work. Breakfast was also delicious. In the morning, a veteran staff member assisted us, and it really showed. The guest Room was comfortable, and we were able to relax. The indoor bath for men was very small and not very appealing, though the semi-open-air bath felt wonderful. It seems the women’s baths—both indoor and outdoor—were very good. Since we needed to bring towels from the Room, they could end up wet or dirty, which may be an area many guests would like to see improved—especially given your otherwise high-quality services. I also wondered why there was no hairbrush provided. When we arrived by car, a staff member from Choraku kindly guided us while running in the heat in a kimono. When we left, everyone at Choraku warmly saw us off with smiles, which made for a pleasant journey home. Of course, we are also grateful to all the Shisui staff for their courteous service. Thank you for helping create such precious family time with smiles and wonderful food.

    A relaxing place to unwind.

    This was about my fifth stay. Each time, I’m comforted by the warm hospitality of the Accommodation staff and the truly delicious meals. This time, my daughter is pregnant, so we requested meals without raw foods, and we were very satisfied with what was provided. Thank you as well for preparing a lap blanket and cushions. Thanks to your care, my daughter was able to eat well, and it seems she was able to spend some relaxing time for the first time in a while. We would love to visit again!

    I found a partially ...

    I found a partially consumed bottle of water in the refrigerator, the skincare lotion from the amenity set in the Room was missing, and some fixtures were dusty, which made me concerned about inadequate cleaning and hygiene. Also, voices from the hallway were quite audible in the Room and door opening/closing noises echoed, so people who are sensitive to noise may find it difficult to rest. The hallway conversations were so clear that my companion even mistook them for me speaking. Regarding the baths: Choraku’s bath, which can be used only once during your stay, has several open-air baths and is spacious, so I could relax even when others were there. However, Shisui’s open-air bath is not large, so it felt cramped when strangers came in and I couldn’t soak comfortably. There are also not many washing stations, so it felt inconvenient when crowded. Dinner had many dishes with thoughtful touches, and everything was very delicious. Breakfast was a healthy menu and tasted good as well. The service was also good—everyone was kind, including those providing Shuttle Service as well as the staff who assisted with check-in/check-out and served our meals. While the staff service and meals were great, there were multiple negative issues with the Room that prevented me from relaxing during my stay, so I have given this rating.

    We offer warm hospitality at our Accommodation.

    Thank you very much for your help the other day. When I told a staff member about a month in advance that my knee had been bothering me and I couldn’t manage stairs, they kindly found a Room that didn’t require using stairs and changed it to one close to the elevator, which I truly appreciated. Dinner was beautifully presented, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed the Western-style breakfast. It was wonderful to be able to fully enjoy Arima Onsen again after such a long time. All of the staff were lovely, and I would like to stay again.

    The hot water was excellent.

    Our close group of three stayed here on this trip. We usually travel for sightseeing, but this time we came to enjoy Onsen for the first time. The Hotel was clean and well stocked with amenities, and above all, we were able to relax and enjoy both Kinsen and Ginsen, making it a wonderful trip. The Shuttle Service was available whenever needed, and they even came just to pick up our luggage, which was a big help. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, and the colorful tableware was also a delight to the eyes. We also enjoyed nightcap time in the lounge, where time passed quietly. If I had to mention one thing, as expected there were a few stairs, which was a bit tough for someone with knee pain. The water was so good that I immediately recommended it to friends. If I have the chance, I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The Onsen was amazing! The breakfast bread was excellent!

    I’ve stayed here several times. Above all, the Onsen is exceptional—my skin feels wonderfully smooth afterward. In the Kansai area, Arima truly deserves its reputation as a premium Onsen destination. Also, breakfast includes an all-you-can-eat selection of many kinds of bread. The portions are small, so you can try a variety, which is great. Finally, I was touched by the staff’s warm smiles and service—especially since it was my birthday month. Thank you very much. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

    Welcome drinks and fruit were provided, and light snacks were also served in the evening. It felt like relaxing in a club lounge. By chance, our Room was located near the main building Onsen exit, so we could clearly hear voices in the hallway until late at night, which was disappointing. However, the service was courteous and we were satisfied.

    This is a wonderful accommodation.

    We stayed here for a trip as a Mother’s Day gift, and it was a truly satisfying experience for both mother and daughter. The Accommodation and Room were clean, and the food was excellent in taste, quality, and portion size—we enjoyed every dish. Above all, the staff were wonderful; everyone welcomed us with genuine smiles and treated us warmly and courteously throughout our stay, making it comfortable from start to finish. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much for your outstanding hospitality.

    An Accommodation You’ll Want to Return To

    Since we were only staying for a short time, we booked at a lower rate than our usual Accommodation, expecting the Room to feel quite small for a family of four. However, it didn’t feel cramped at all. The interior was new and comfortable, and the toilet and wash area were clean and spacious. We also appreciated the samue loungewear. Drinks in the in-room refrigerator were free as well. The large public bath isn’t very big, but considering the size of the Accommodation, it was decent. We especially liked the lemon mint water after bathing and ended up having several cups with our daughters. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, though I feel we were more impressed when we stayed a few years ago. For breakfast bread, among the various options, the olive bread and Naruto Kintoki sweet potato bread were tasty, but the croissant was hard and difficult to eat. The Japanese miso soup had plenty of ingredients and great flavor, and the rice was glossy—refills were free. Perhaps because our Room was near the stairs, we were woken up several times at night by other guests talking as they walked down the hallway. Next time I’d like to make a Reservation for a different Room. All staff members were kind and pleasant; in particular, the male staff member who assisted us at reception both morning and evening was truly wonderful. This is an Accommodation I recommend for a comfortable stay.

    The hot spring water quality was excellent.

    The service was excellent, the Onsen was great, and considering the price range, the meals were very good. The quality of the Onsen water was especially wonderful. Since I’d like to return again, this is a small request: I would appreciate it if you could place a broom or something similar in the open-air bath area to sweep the ground. It happened to be a very windy day, so it’s natural for leaves and such to fall, but since guests walk barefoot, they can end up sticking to the soles of your feet—I felt it would be helpful to have something to sweep with. That said, overall I am very satisfied. It was my first stay in Arima Onsen Accommodation, and all of the staff were very pleasant—I felt it is a wonderful Accommodation. I would love to visit again.

    February Redemption

    In February, our eldest son, who lives in the U.S., was scheduled to return to Japan on a business trip, so we made a Reservation for the four of us as a family for the first time in a while. However, his trip was postponed at the last minute, and we stayed without him. We were so impressed by how comfortable it was that we visited again this April when his trip was postponed once more. In February we enjoyed snowy scenery, but this time we had great weather and were able to experience Arima in a different way. The Hotel’s meals and service were excellent as always, and we were very satisfied. Last time when we visited Sora Cafe, we heard it is run by your brother and his wife. They kindly took a photo with us, and I felt very close to you—but of course you didn’t remember us... (laugh) ...It was a little embarrassing. But we will come again. The Shuttle Service driver is always smiling and kind—we truly appreciated it. I think this is a truly wonderful Hotel.

    An Accommodation with Delicious, Thoughtfully Prepared Dinners to Help You Unwind

    We visited as a family of three. Our Room was on the 4th floor, but the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor, so we walked up and down one flight of stairs. It felt like good exercise. The Facility was very clean. Since there is no bath in the Room, we used the large public baths in both the main building and the new building. The outdoor bath is “Kinyu,” and the indoor bath is “Ginyu.” Kinyu has a high salt content, so it can sting if you have any cuts. We felt that Ginyu was stronger in the main building. It seems there are private baths as well, but we forgot to Reserve one and didn’t use them this time, which was a shame. Bath towels are provided at the public bath, but you need to bring face towels from your Room. They lend you a mesh bag, which was convenient for carrying them. There are free massage chairs near the baths. For meals, staff guide you to your seat at the restaurant. There is a wide selection of alcoholic drinks as well as plenty of non-alcoholic options, which we enjoyed. Dinner was creative and delicious, and it was nice to be able to try many different dishes in small portions. For breakfast, you can choose Western or Japanese style. Bread can be delivered, and we thought it might be even better lightly toasted. They also provided drinking water in a pitcher in our Room, which was convenient and tasted great. The parking lot and restaurant staff were wonderful and very attentive. It’s not a very large Ryokan, but it’s a great place to go when you want to relax and recover from fatigue. We also recommend getting a massage.

    Excellent hot spring quality and a luxurious facade.

    This was my first time visiting Arima Onsen. It was a wonderful Onsen town, but overall it felt quite upscale, and choosing an Accommodation was difficult—ultimately, I chose Shisui. The quality of the hot spring water was excellent, and the meals were acceptable, but I didn’t feel it was worth the price. It felt like a “facade of luxury.” Right after dinner, I found myself craving a cup of instant noodles.

    A Thoughtful Accommodation

    This was my first visit to Arima Onsen, and I could really sense the owner’s thoughtful attention to detail. It was a very comfortable stay. 1) The staff were pleasant and kind. 2) Plenty of bath towels were available in the bath area. 3) We could enjoy both the gold and silver baths. 4) The amenities were excellent. 5) The Accommodation smelled wonderful with aromatherapy scents throughout. 5) There was also a fun variety of herbal teas. 6) The meals were delicious. 7) The one-time access to Choraku’s cypress bath was outstanding. 8) The hair dryer was a ReFa. If I had to mention anything: 1) It would have been even better if there were drinks like café au lait available in the morning. 2) If towels were provided, it might have been nice to use Choraku’s cypress open-air bath more than once. Overall, it was a lovely Accommodation that felt close to perfect. Our children liked it very much as well, and we’d love to visit Arima Onsen again.

    We were able to relax and unwind in a spacious Room. We were very satisfied with both the meals and the Onsen. Coffee and freshly baked bread at Sora Cafe, Hinohikari rice, Kinsen, Ginsen... We would definitely like to visit again. All the staff helped us many times with the Shuttle Service. Thank you very much.

    As we were a small group, it was quiet and relaxing.

    This was my first stay here with my mother. As this is the annex, there are fewer Rooms and it was fully booked, but neither the Onsen nor the dining areas ever felt crowded, so we were able to relax and take our time. The Onsen includes both Kinsen and Ginsen; they aren’t large, but we enjoyed them more than enough. You can also use the baths in the main building, which are more spacious than those in the annex. The service was attentive and excellent, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious with portions that were plenty for women (though some men might find them a bit small). There is a lounge where complimentary drinks and snacks are available as a late-night option, as well as a paid lounge. The bath in our Room was also wonderful—we absolutely loved it! It’s a mixed Kinsen-and-Ginsen spring bath with free-flowing water, so we could use it anytime. The temperature was just right, and we enjoyed a truly luxurious time. Thank you very much. There are many stairs, so it may be a bit challenging for guests with mobility issues; however, everything—the interior design, Onsen, and meals—was excellent, so we were very satisfied overall. We would love to stay again when visiting Arima Onsen. Thank you very much.

    Excellent Onsen, excellent dining, excellent service—an Accommodation that exceeds 100% overall.

    I have stayed at Choraku and Shiki in the main building before, but this was my first time here. First of all, when I called in advance with a request, the phone support was excellent, which raised my expectations even before the trip. As we spent our entire stay inside the Accommodation, every staff member we encountered greeted us warmly and was very attentive. The public areas, Room, and large public bath were compact yet clean and functional, with lovely design touches, thoughtful details, and beautiful flower arrangements. The private bath we used for my mother—who cannot bathe freely on her own—had a wonderful atmosphere surrounded by nature, and seeing her happier than I had imagined became an unforgettable memory. The next morning, I was also able to use my personal favorite open-air bath at the main building in Arima and enjoyed a relaxing soak. We truly loved both the quality of the meals and how they were served. The portions and balance were carefully planned so you can enjoy everything without getting tired of it; including the service, it felt on par with a luxury city Hotel. When I mentioned that we were celebrating my mother’s birthday, you prepared various thoughtful gestures for us, and we deeply appreciated how heartfelt they were. This time, my sister and I planned a trip to nearby Arima while our elderly mother is still able to get around. Large Accommodations can make someone with limited stamina feel anxious or confused when moving to big baths or dining venues, so we wanted somewhere more manageable—and we are delighted that we chose so well. From now on, if anyone asks me for recommendations in Arima, I will introduce this place. I also felt your pricing is very reasonable as I think about who to come with next time. Above all else, she enjoyed it far more than expected—so it was a great success. Thank you very much.

    I was able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen.

    I decided to visit Arima Onsen for the first time with my mother, and wanted to stay somewhere we could enjoy both the Onsen and the cuisine, so I made a Reservation at Spa Terrace Shisui. Everything was wonderful, starting with the sweet welcome treat at check-in. The food was delicious and very filling. We were also able to enjoy the Onsen at the neighboring Choraku, and my skin felt so smooth. The large public bath at Shisui was almost like having it all to ourselves, which was great, and the in-Room mixed gold and silver spring bath was also very relaxing—I truly got to unwind. Above all, everyone at the Ryokan was so kind and welcoming that we had a very comfortable stay. They also offer a Shuttle Service to Arima Onsen, and on our way back they even delivered our luggage to Arima Onsen after we called—this made sightseeing much easier. I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

    Everything was kept ...

    Everything was kept very clean. It was also nice to be able to enjoy a coffee while checking in. If you stay in a room with an open-air bath, you can also use the other lounge, which is a great perk. For rooms with an in-room bath, you have to step outside once to get to the bath. The bath is on the small side, but it is an open-air bath. The water temperature was just right. Dinner was delicious except for the kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) foil-baked dish. The sashimi was fresh as well. Breakfast had too few side dishes. It didn’t feel like the kind of breakfast you look forward to. Without something like warm dashimaki tamago and a few more items, overall satisfaction was low. I’d like to return, so I hope this feedback will be reflected.

    A wonderful accommodation.

    To Arima Onsen Shisui The food was truly delicious, and the Room was very clean. We were also able to use the baths at Ginsuiso Choraku and enjoy both Kinsen and Ginsen. My skin felt silky smooth, and it was incredibly relaxing. This is my favorite Accommodation where I can forget everyday life and feel refreshed.

    Perfect Accommodation for a Mother-Daughter Trip

    I stayed here with my mother, who is over 60. We really appreciated that you came to pick us up at the highway bus stop right away. We were able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen and the meals, and we were very satisfied. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again.

    On the day of our st...

    On the day of our stay, a severe cold wave hit, and even Kansai was under a heavy snow warning. We set off feeling anxious about whether we could make it to Arima Onsen by car. On the way, a staff member from Shisui called to explain the current situation: Arima was also experiencing heavy snowfall, Shuttle Service to the station had been temporarily suspended, and trains were running. Thanks to this, we were able to decide to park near Minatogawa Station and continue by train. We later received notice that Shuttle Service had resumed, and we arrived safely. We completed check-in while enjoying welcome sweets and coffee. The upgraded Room was clean and very comfortable. Before dinner, I went to Shisui’s Onsen while my husband went to Choraku’s Onsen. The women’s bath at Shisui was almost private, so I could relax and fully enjoy both Kinsen and Ginsen. Dinner was a course that blended Japanese cuisine with French and Italian touches; every dish was perfectly seasoned for my taste and delicious. We also enjoyed complimentary alcohol and snacks in the lounge, ending the day completely satisfied. The next morning, after another relaxing soak in the Onsen, we had a wonderful (very filling) breakfast and checked out. This Accommodation was outstanding in every way—hospitality, meals, and service. It is small-scale and ideal for adults looking to unwind in peace. Being able to enjoy the snowy scenery made this trip even more special. Thank you very much.

    It was good.

    Thank you for your hospitality. The meals, bath, and room were all pleasant, allowing me to relax and enjoy my stay. The meal portions were just right and delicious, and I personally preferred dining in the restaurant rather than having meals served in the room. The women's bath was cozy without being too large, included a sauna, and had individual makeup corners with partitions in the dressing area. The amenities provided were of good quality as well. In addition to yukata, there was also jinbei available as loungewear, which made my stay more comfortable. All staff members, including the shuttle service driver, treated us with great care and politeness. The only concern might be the steep slope from the road to the ryokan during snowy weather when traveling by car. I would love to visit again!

    Too disappointing.

    It was a disappointing ryokan, hard to believe it is part of the "Choraku" group. Starting with being rushed to choose breakfast preferences while filling out the accommodation form at check-in, the dinner service was at an unacceptable level. Even before finishing one dish, the next dish was brought out and explained without waiting. When we asked them to serve more slowly, they gave a strange excuse about serving meals according to another guest's pace (even though that guest hadn't finished eating either). To make matters worse, the dining area is located right near the ryokan entrance with no partition doors. Being seated near the entrance meant cold air came in directly from outside, making it very uncomfortable as our bodies cooled down after warming up in the onsen (especially our feet). As mentioned in other reviews, there was nothing good about this place except for being able to use Choraku's onsen facilities.

    You'll want to come back, won't you?

    Escape the ordinary in just about an hour by bus from Umeda. With professional hospitality, delicious meals, and everything else you could ask for, this is a wonderful Onsen Ryokan. Whenever I visit Arima, this is my go-to place. I absolutely love Shisui!

    First Time at Shisui

    At check-in, the 5:30 PM dining slot advertised on the official site was fully booked, and we were informed of a 7:00 PM dining time. It would be appreciated if meal time selection could be made during the reservation process. After making a request, we were eventually accommodated for the 5:30 PM dining time. Having stayed several times at your sister accommodation "Choraku," we noticed differences in service levels. The women's bath water was reportedly cold for bathing purposes. At 3:30 PM, long hair was found on the bed. However, both dinner and breakfast meals were satisfying along with their service quality. Including meal time options in reservation questions would be greatly appreciated.
