    I found a wonderful accommodation.

    I enjoyed a trip within Shikoku as I couldn't take a long break from work. There seem to be many more wonderful places to visit and accommodations to discover. This time, I stayed in a room with an open-air bath and had meals in a private room with an irori hearth. The meals were served at the perfect pace, so there was no waiting, and everything from the salt-grilled sweetfish to teppanyaki and Koshihikari rice was absolutely delicious. The staff left a great impression; they seemed relatively young but were all very pleasant. The large public bath was relaxing, and I could enjoy the autumn leaves while soaking in the warm water. Thank you for providing complimentary amenities like the espresso machine, tea, and juice in the room. My husband and I are already talking about coming back again during another season!

    About the Dog Run

    We stayed at this accommodation with our family and beloved dog at the end of summer vacation. Located in a serene, mountainous area with the sound of a flowing river and fresh air, it was an absolutely fantastic location. The food was also delicious! Being surrounded by nature, it’s understandable that there were many insects, but we were surprised to find a large centipede indoors. While insect-repellent items are provided, we felt it’s essential to take individual precautions as well. There is one more point I must mention for awareness: Our dog is a slightly smaller Shiba Inu with a height under 45cm (not a miniature Shiba). This accommodation has a design where the dog run is located below the shared wooden deck area accessible via stairs. The height difference serves as fencing on one side, and there is no enclosure on the wooden deck itself; instead, there’s a gate at the top of the stairs leading down to prevent dogs from getting out. As first-time visitors here, we made the mistake of letting our dog roam freely on the wooden deck—only for him to easily jump over its height and escape outside. He ran around in the garden of the facility before crossing over to parking areas and heading toward main roads across bridges. We were terrified he might get hit by cars or that we wouldn’t be able to bring him back home safely again. Fortunately, another guest arriving at that moment noticed what was happening and stood near where vehicles exit onto main roads from parking lots—blocking off potential danger zones effectively until capture efforts succeeded nearby within said lot itself!     I enjoyed a relaxing and extraordinary time.

    I used this facility for the first time to host a friend from another prefecture. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with tea and sweets, and the beautifully designed lobby lifted our spirits. The Room was a hut-type with a balcony offering an amazing view, but there were quite a few stink bugs. The meals were served in beautiful dishes, but I felt the taste could be improved slightly. I would prefer quality over quantity when it comes to the dishes. Since dinner was Japanese kaiseki cuisine, I thought having bread options for breakfast might be nice as well. Overall, it exceeded my expectations, and I would love to visit again with my female friends!

    I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen.

    Stayed in a twin room with a private open-air bath. The view from the room was not as impressive as expected. The meal was the "Seasonal Special Course," but overall, it felt more like an average course (the seasoned rice was delicious though). With many international guests, the price seemed on the higher side. Despite being busy, the staff provided polite and attentive service. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The best Hotel ever!

    I have stayed at various reasonably priced dog-friendly Hotels before, but this was the best. The food, service, and bath were all excellent. The Room for guests with dogs was also great. If I had to mention one thing, the slope was a bit tough... I would love to stay longer next time.

    Travel for a 60th Birthday Celebration

    My husband decided two weeks ago to celebrate his 60th birthday with a trip, so we made a last-minute reservation at this hotel. It was our first time here, but we chose it because we wanted to stay in a room with an open-air onsen. The cost was more than double what we usually spend on trips, but since it was our first trip alone together since our honeymoon after raising children, we decided to splurge. The hotel is surrounded by greenery. We stayed in a TYPEA room. From the bath, you could see lush green leaves that were just starting to turn red; I imagined how beautiful it must be during peak autumn foliage while soaking in the onsen. There’s also a footbath near the hotel entrance where you can relax and enjoy the breeze—it felt so comforting and pleasant. Meanwhile, my husband enjoyed some quiet time at the smoking area near the lobby while sipping canned coffee and admiring the greenery. The large public bath was also wonderful. I had hoped to stargaze from the rooftop terrace under a sky full of stars, but unfortunately, it was cloudy that night so I couldn’t see them—definitely something I want to come back for next time. The meals were delicious and very satisfying! However, I did feel that drinks were priced quite high. Back in our room, lying down on that bed felt amazing! In fact, when morning came around, I wished I could have stayed lounging there for another 2–3 hours—it was hard leaving such a comfortable bed after such restful sleep. All of the staff members were friendly and provided excellent service throughout our stay. If we had mentioned it being my husband’s birthday beforehand, perhaps there might have been some special service offered—but even without any extras like that—we thoroughly enjoyed these two fulfilling days. Although today meant returning back to work life again—I found myself wishing I could go back tonight just for another soak in their wonderful onsen followed by sleeping once more in that heavenly bed! Thank you very much for such an unforgettable experience!

    The room and Onsen were satisfactory, but it felt strange that a foreign staff member explained the meals, as we expected a traditional Japanese Ryokan experience. We hope the Ryokan maintains its traditional Japanese atmosphere.

    I was able to relax in the mountains.

    The accommodation nestled in the mountains was surrounded by nature, providing a very refreshing experience. The room's open-air bath was spacious and comfortably surrounded by greenery. Amenities were well-prepared, and the complimentary drinks in the room's refrigerator were much appreciated. The meals had a refined taste and were just the right portion for us with smaller appetites. The staff serving during meals showed heartfelt hospitality, which we truly felt. It turned out to be a highly satisfying trip. We will visit again—thank you very much!

    I stayed at Satoyama...

    I stayed at Satoyama Hut during my trip to Kagawa. The Room felt just like home, fresh and clean, which made me very satisfied. I had heard that milk would be delivered in the morning, but when it didn’t arrive, I asked the staff and was told it might have been placed in the refrigerator as a free drink. Since I expected it to be delivered in the morning, I found this a bit puzzling. However, overall, the staff were extremely polite. There were also international staff members who conveyed their dedication through their service—kudos to them! Working in hospitality in a foreign country must be incredibly challenging. The hot water was soothing and left my skin feeling smooth. I’d love to visit again!

    Rainy Days in Kagawa

    I stayed for one night with two meals during the Obon holiday. The Ryokan was impeccably clean, giving a very pleasant impression. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and the service during meals was flawless. The food itself was absolutely delicious. Personally, I loved the Onsen very much. Especially lying in the 35°C neyu (bathing area) while listening to the sound of a stream made my body feel truly relaxed. The only disappointment was that before dinner, when I wanted to relax at the entrance area, most of the seats were occupied with used towels and teacups after service, leaving almost no place to sit. Despite this minor issue, I would love to revisit this Ryokan again for their thoughtful gestures like carrying my luggage carefully in the rain and their warm greetings. Next time, I hope to enjoy stargazing on a clear day! Thank you very much!

    Konpira Funefune

    My wife and I visited Chichibugahama Beach, Marugame Castle, Zentsuji Temple, and Kotohira Shrine before arriving at Awan Kotonami. The welcome drink was chilled dokudami tea, which was very soothing for our slightly tired bodies. Our room was Type D with a terrace featuring a daybed. The view and the sound of insects were so pleasant that we ended up taking a refreshing nap for about an hour. For dinner, we enjoyed a tasting of three types of meat: olive pork, beef, and chicken; grilled sweetfish; sashimi; and more. The portions were abundant yet thoughtfully prepared with excellent flavors that left us very satisfied. The private open-air onsen bath was incredibly relaxing—the moment we soaked in it, our bodies warmed up instantly. Just like the terrace view, the bath offered lush greenery during the day and breathtaking starry skies at night—a delightful experience for us coming from Osaka. The staff were all friendly yet professional in their service, making our stay even more enjoyable. The souvenir shop had many unique items not commonly found elsewhere, making shopping there quite fun. As an aside: when confirming our reservation over the phone regarding food allergies, they mentioned having records of my allergies despite this being my first reservation here. It turned out to be part of their meticulous service as they shared data from another accommodation in their group—The Shiroyama Terrace Tsuyama Villa—where I had stayed previously. This attention to detail impressed me greatly. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Exceptional Hospitality

    We visited to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It felt like staying at a private villa, and we were very relaxed. The meals, the bath, and the staff—everything was perfect. Thank you for an incredibly fulfilling day. We would love to visit again!

    Some areas show signs of aging.

    As always, I had a satisfying stay at the accommodation. The reception staff and the "bodybuilder" who served our meals were truly wonderful, and the food was delicious, making for a very enjoyable experience. This time, I stayed in Room 310 and noticed a few minor concerns. These are not due to facility malfunctions or cleaning issues but rather natural wear over time. The entrance door lock was slightly difficult to close, the paint on the ceiling-mounted air conditioner is peeling off, dust has accumulated in its filter, the two round tables appear aged, and while understandable due to its nature, the area where water flows into the open-air bath looks quite worn out. Since this accommodation opened in 2017—making it eight years old—it might be too early for a full renovation; however, small touch-ups like repainting could make a significant difference. The greenery around the open-air bath has grown beautifully over time and creates a pleasant atmosphere. Most notably, compared to when it first opened, the quality of meals has improved dramatically. This makes it an appealing option for repeat visits. I hope these suggestions will be considered moving forward!

    The Facility design, dinner and breakfast were all highly satisfying. The large public bath and the open-air bath in the indoor bath were especially excellent. I was deeply impressed by the delicious grilled salted sweetfish. I will definitely use this place again.

    An accommodation that values guest feedback.

    I stay at this accommodation every year during my trip back home. June was a particularly beautiful time with lush greenery. Last time, I wrote feedback about the room, and they replaced the tatami mats with new ones. Their responsiveness to customer feedback has increased my trust in them, and I plan to continue staying here in the future. It also seems like there are more staff members now, and their service manners have improved. In particular, the parking staff and dining staff were efficient and provided pleasant service, which made me happy. The meals at this accommodation use local ingredients and offer unique menus that I look forward to every time. One area for improvement would be if they could respond more flexibly to guest requests—it would make the experience even better. This is a highly satisfying accommodation where you can enjoy affordable prices along with great rooms, meals, and baths.

    A Relaxing Retreat

    Good Accommodation

    The private open-air bath, Room, and meals were all excellent. Many Asian staff members worked hard to explain the dishes. However, when we were shown to the Room, there was a strong musty smell as soon as we entered. Could it be due to the location or high humidity? Other than that, everything was perfect. The private open-air bath was especially outstanding.

    The food was delicious.

    Enjoy the bounty of the mountains and seas of Sanuki and Awa, paired with fresh local vegetables. True to its name, the course features Olive Beef, Olive Pork, seafood, and most impressively, the flavors of seasonal vegetables. The unique preparation methods were truly delightful while maximizing the freshness and quality of each ingredient. I look forward to returning in a different season!

    Comfortable

    The atmosphere of the inn was wonderful, with a spacious public bath, beautifully designed open-air baths, and excellent Onsen! The highlight was definitely the dinner—both the presentation and taste were outstanding! The rice cooked in an earthen pot at the end of the meal was incredibly delicious. It made me realize just how amazing plain white rice can be! However, there were some downsides. The karaoke room had a musty smell, possibly due to humidity or infrequent use. Also, while breakfast was good, it would have been even better if freshly cooked rice in an earthen pot like at dinner was served. I hope to visit again around autumn and would be delighted if these issues are improved by then.

    We stayed at this accommodation in April. There are various room types available, so it is important to carefully research and choose the right room. Before making the reservation, the staff kindly confirmed our meal preferences, which made us feel very comfortable and reassured. The overall impression of our stay was excellent. What stood out the most was definitely the open-air baths. With a wide variety to choose from, we were able to enjoy several different ones. The access from Takamatsu Airport is convenient, making transportation easy as well. Overall, it offers great value for money, and we would love to stay here again.

    Had a relaxing time.

    A hotel located in the quiet mountains of Kagawa. Although I was a bit anxious about the hut until I arrived, it was very comfortable with a terrace surrounded by trees where I could enjoy coffee while listening to birdsong, a warm room with floor heating, and excellent amenities including the bed and bath. The entire accommodation was clean and well-maintained, making it a lovely place to stay. The cost performance, including meals, was excellent, and it turned out to be a very satisfying one-night trip. However, what felt disappointing was that most of the staff lacked smiles. Only about two staff members left an impression with their smiles; others maintained serious expressions during interactions at the front desk, room guidance, or meal service. While their language was polite enough not to cause discomfort, just adding some smiles would make this wonderful hotel even better. Additionally, during meals both rice bowls and soup bowls were placed incorrectly for both of us. Considering that many middle-aged or older guests may stay here often, addressing such basic details could elevate this accommodation into an even more outstanding hotel in the future!

    The bath and the view are truly satisfying.

    This was our first trip with our beloved dog. We chose this accommodation because a friend who stayed here before recommended it as a wonderful place. It is a quiet and beautiful accommodation surrounded by nature. The meals were delicious kaiseki dishes featuring various seasonal vegetables. The bath was absolutely amazing—listening to the sound of the river while enjoying views of the waterfall made it incredibly relaxing. Towels were provided in the bath area, so we could go there without carrying anything! The only downside was that the sink area in our room felt a bit small, so I deducted one star for that. During meals, our dog stayed in the room, but there was a clean cage, toilet sheets, and food bowls provided, which gave us peace of mind. The staff were kind and helpful; even though we only stayed for one night, my whole family had an incredibly satisfying time here. Thank you very much!

    Snow in March

    The snowfall in March was the first in seven years. I was unexpectedly soothed by the snowy view from the open-air bath. Both the cuisine and Onsen were highly satisfying. The young staff provided lively and attentive service. They even cleared the snow off my car. This has become one of the accommodations I would love to visit again.

    Stayed for one night. The location is wonderful, providing a relaxing space with nothing unnecessary. The quality of the Onsen water was excellent, and the view from the Room bath was also good. Additionally, the large public bath had plenty of water and a spacious open-air bath, which was nice. The meals were wonderful; not extravagant but rich in flavor. The steamed dishes at breakfast were also delicious. It is an Onsen Property I would like to visit again.
