    Fully satisfied with the Kin-sen and Gin-sen hot springs

    Dinner included some Western-style dishes as well, and everything was delicious. The lobby’s complimentary drinks offered a great variety, and we enjoyed plenty without hesitation. We thoroughly enjoyed the Room’s Onsen (gold and silver springs), sauna, and pool many times. Thank you very much. We look forward to visiting again in a different season to enjoy the meals and Onsen!

    Feel refreshed!

    Third stay. A Room with a pool, Kin-sen and Gin-sen hot springs, and a sauna—an endless loop from the bath to the pool to the sauna, then back to the pool and bath! You’ll feel completely refreshed. Dinner, as always, is exquisite cuisine rooted in Japanese flavors with refined Western touches. In the end, what truly stands out is the superb dashi. It’s not cheap, but I highly recommend choosing a Room with a sauna. The sauna Rooms also feature Tempur-Pedic beds for incredibly comfortable sleep—like sleeping on clouds. You can enjoy a relaxing day with your special partner.

    I was really looking forward to it, but…

    There was no greeting at the entrance, so the first impression was not very good. The service itself was not bad, but compared with the Hotels and Ryokans I regularly stay at, both the Room and the food felt a step below in quality. It was disappointing. The food was not particularly delicious, and I was also personally disappointed that it had an Italian-style menu. In addition, the pace of serving dishes was slow, and there were times when staff did not notice even when our drinks were empty, which made the service feel lacking. On the other hand, the Onsen was excellent, and I could relax and enjoy it. Overall, it is not a bad Accommodation, but considering the price, it did not exceed my expectations in terms of satisfaction, and I do not think I will return.

    It was wonderful.

    This time, our goal was simply to relax during our stay, and Hoshine was perfect. After arriving, we enjoyed cake and fruit in the lobby, soaked in the Onsen in our Room, and then relaxed on the outdoor chairs until dinner. Dinner was even better than we expected—especially the grilled sea bream with crispy scales, which was outstanding. We did use the pool, but it was still a bit early (cold). It had been a while since I last swam, and it was good to realize I couldn’t swim as well as I thought. In any case, we were able to truly unwind and both of us had a great time. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    A Luxurious Time at Hoshine—Made Even More Special by the Rain

    We visited Amanohashidate Rikyu Hoshine in the rain. We arrived after 2:00 p.m., and even before check-in we were able to relax in the lobby while enjoying sweets and sparkling wine. The Room was spacious and calmly appointed. The view over Miyazu Bay beyond a pine grove veiled in rain was truly magical, making us forget the bad weather. Far from thinking “What a shame it’s raining,” we felt “I’m glad it rained”—the time spent in the Room felt wonderfully luxurious. The Room featured an open-air Onsen bath with Kinsen water and an indoor Onsen bath with Ginsen water, and soaking again and again left us refreshed in both body and mind. Dinner exceeded our expectations as well. Each dish, showcasing local ingredients, was carefully prepared, and the timing of service was impeccable. The staff’s explanations of the dishes and their casual conversation were pleasant, turning the meal itself into a lasting memory. In particular, the Kuroge Wagyu steak was astonishingly tender with exceptional flavor. We could feel their heartfelt hospitality all the way through to dessert. Breakfast also surpassed our expectations, and we fully enjoyed both the Onsen and our time at this Accommodation right up until check-out. This time we intentionally didn’t spend much time sightseeing, choosing instead a trip to unwind at the Accommodation—and it was absolutely the right choice. Hoshine is an Accommodation where “staying” becomes the destination itself. We would love to visit again.

    It was a wonderful girls’ trip.

    We made a one-night Reservation for two women. When we contacted the property on the morning of our stay to add one more friend, they called us back to confirm the meal arrangements and kindly accommodated the change. There were so many treats to enjoy—welcome sweets, a variety of drinks, and after-dinner alcohol with prosciutto and cheese. The bath was excellent as well. The pool in June felt too cold for us in our 50s and 60s, so we didn’t use it (haha). Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. We arrived without researching the dining menu or amenity services at all, which made everything an even happier surprise! We will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

    Disappointed, especially since I had high expectations.

    I had high expectations for Hoshine, as my parents stayed here before and said it was wonderful, but there were many disappointing points. 1) I informed you in advance about ingredients I cannot eat, and this was also confirmed at check-in, yet they were still served at both breakfast and dinner. 2) The menu for the grilled eggplant soup and the steamed abalone stated that caviar was included, but there was no caviar. When I mentioned it, only the caviar was brought out afterward. Bringing just the caviar wasn’t helpful—I wanted to enjoy it as part of the dish pairing with the soup, so this was disappointing. 3) Overall, the service staff seemed inexperienced: explanations of the dishes were hesitant; fingers were inside plates while carrying them; and after our large sashimi platter was cleared away, the table was left soaked with melting ice and not wiped down. 4) We dined in a private room, but it was obvious that staff outside kept taking turns peeking in (presumably to check our pace), which made us uncomfortable. 5) The sliding door in the Room seemed poorly fitted—it rattled badly and would not close without using considerable force. I have stayed at other Accommodations in this price range, but this is the first time I have experienced so many disappointments at one place. It’s a shame because both the view from the Room and the Onsen were excellent.

    We were extremely satisfied!

    During my pregnancy, I stayed here for our last maternity trip as a couple. At the time of Reservation and again before our stay, you carefully confirmed details about my meals, including cooking methods and ingredients to avoid, so I was able to enjoy dining with peace of mind even while pregnant. All the staff were wonderful, and their warm hospitality with genuine smiles truly comforted me. I enjoyed the Onsen and delicious meals, and we had fun taking self-shot maternity photos in our Room while spending a very fulfilling time. When our child is older, we would love to visit again as a couple. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

    Overpriced

    Overall, the Hotel felt clean, and the staff were professional. I had no particular complaints. However, considering the Accommodation Fee, it felt overpriced. At this price point, I expected at least one standout feature—such as the Room, meals, or Onsen—but everything felt fairly standard. It is by no means a bad Hotel, but in terms of value for money, it left me quite unsatisfied.

    It was wonderful—exactly as expected!

    Based on the positive Reviews, I made a Reservation. At check-in, I received a complimentary amenity with a wonderful fragrance, which really lifted my spirits. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and it was fun having two baths in the Room. From the lounge offerings and more, it felt like one delightful service after another. Above all, the meals were beautifully presented, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely delicious. All of the staff were pleasant as well, and I would love to visit again.

    It was a meaningful time.

    I planned a trip to Amanohashidate and Ine, and while searching for an Accommodation I looked for a place with an in-room Onsen and appealing dinner, ideally with a full view of Amanohashidate and nearby—but I couldn’t find anything that met those expectations. In reality, the Amanohashidate area was crowded and noisy during Golden Week, so it’s best treated as a sightseeing spot rather than somewhere to stay—and I’m glad we didn’t stay there. Compared with properties that raise prices significantly during Golden Week or peak seasons, I appreciated the reasonable pricing here. Also, “Hoshine” is located roughly midway between Amanohashidate and Ine, which made getting around and planning our trip easy. The seven detached Rooms each have both gold and silver Onsen baths, which was a great plus. The lounge offerings change by time of day, and it was very convenient—there were plenty of snacks, sweets, and drinks. Dinner was excellent: every dish showed care in both presentation and flavor, with seasoning (and portion sizes) that paired perfectly for those who enjoy drinking alcohol. The only disappointment was that although we stayed in May, the date on the dinner menu said “a day in April.” Breakfast was the most satisfying I’ve had at any Accommodation so far—both in variety (local ingredients) and quantity. There are cheaper Accommodations nearby, but considering the price and overall quality, this place is well worth staying at. Personally, I’d like to return again—thank you in advance when we do.

    It was comfortable.

    We stayed here with my elderly parents. My mother has been saying her legs have been hurting lately, so we looked for an Accommodation with an in-room bath and made a Reservation because this place caught our eye. From the entrance, everything was spotless and felt very clean. The daytime sweets and drinks, as well as the evening savory offerings, were all very appealing. We also appreciated being able to choose women’s amenities. The Room was well maintained and thoroughly cleaned, and we were able to fully enjoy both the silver spring and gold spring baths. When we mentioned that my parent had leg pain, a female staff member kindly prepared a bath chair for us—thank you for your thoughtful care. Dinner was excellent, with a menu that clearly took various considerations into account. Breakfast was just as good—plentiful and delicious—and the service left a great impression as well. As we were leaving, we were told that crab season is also recommended, so we said we’d like to consider it on our way home.

    A Wonderful Experience

    I had watched videos on YouTube before my stay, but the actual Room was even more wonderful. With the all-inclusive plan, an open-air bath, and high-quality amenities, it was an extremely comfortable stay. Soaking in the Onsen while it was still light out and feeling the calm sea was incredibly healing. Since I had informed you in advance that I don’t drink alcohol, the refrigerator was well stocked with a wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages. Together with the sweets available in the lobby, I enjoyed them with excitement. The meals were also high quality and beautifully presented, offering a sense of satisfaction beyond simply feeling full. All staff members were very polite and worked hard to assist us, making for a pleasant trip. It’s far from Kyushu and not easy to visit often, but I’m glad we chose this Accommodation. The only thing I hope you will consider for the future is offering lounge wear with pants-style options as well.

    Excellent.

    The Facility, amenities, meals, and service were all perfect. The Onsen was especially wonderful. If it were closer, I’d visit often—truly an outstanding Accommodation. It was quiet and relaxing, and I was very satisfied. The staff were also kind.

    I was truly impressed by the excellent Onsen in our Room. I was able to relax and soak slowly with the sound of the waves as background music. The restaurant staff were also wonderful, and we were able to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. Thank you very much. Thank you for decorating the living Room with a vivid red rose wall; I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness. On the other hand, it may not be so much a matter of preference, but rather that it clashes with the lovely furniture and objects, so perhaps a more subtle use of roses might be better. Also, I was disappointed because it said that sparkling wine or champagne could be enjoyed on the terrace after a morning bath, but we were told it was not available. I refrained from pressing further so as not to cause any inconvenience. I usually bring my own, but without confirming in advance with the Hotel, I asked my companion to go and get it for me—something I regret.

    A comfortable Accommodation.

    This was our third visit, always during crab season. The Room design and furnishings somehow make you feel relaxed and cozy, and we find it a very comfortable Accommodation. In particular, the two different Onsens were both wonderful, and my wife and I loved them so much that we enjoyed them many times. That said, this time—perhaps due to the nature of the Onsen—the bottom of the gold Onsen bath had sand and small stones settled on it, which felt unpleasant underfoot and was a bit disappointing. The crab cuisine is the classic “full-course crab meal,” but each dish is thoughtfully crafted—such as a hot pot where you quickly dip the crab meat in a broth made with crab miso and sea urchin, or steamed crab finished with the aroma of roasted green tea. The cooking was perfectly judged throughout, allowing us to fully enjoy the natural sweetness of the crab. Since it’s one whole crab per person, I initially wondered if it might be a little small in quantity, but every part was used without waste; even the final rice porridge was delicious to the very last bite, leaving us completely satisfied. Next time, we’d like to visit in a warmer season and try dishes other than crab as well.

    It was truly wonderful!

    Breakfast

    I have used this accommodation several times, but during breakfast, the menu mentioned "ozoni" soup. However, it was never served from the beginning to the end of breakfast. I informed a staff member after finishing my meal, but their apology was brief and no further apology or follow-up was made afterward. I had been using this place as a luxury accommodation, but I believe such mistakes are unacceptable for a high-end establishment. While I understand that forgetting can happen, this level of service makes me think I will not use this accommodation again in the future. It may seem like a small issue, but proper apologies afterward would have made a difference. The quality of staff has significantly declined compared to when I first stayed here 4-5 years ago.

    This is my first review. First of all, thank you for your kind words and concern when I arrived as a pregnant guest. The welcome service cake was very delicious! I wanted to eat more but restrained myself for dinner. The meals were incredibly tasty, and unlike other accommodations where there’s usually at least one dish that makes me go "hmm?", this accommodation had none of that. I forgot to mention that I don’t like sea urchin, but it was arranged so deliciously that I finished it completely. The room's atmosphere was wonderful, and the onsen was amazing. It warmed me up so much that even though the room felt cool initially, I ended up lowering the temperature because it got too warm! I also loved the hairdryer being a Repronizer—it made my hair silky smooth for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was luxurious and made for an indulgent dining experience—everything tasted fantastic! However, one thing caught my attention: awareness about prohibited foods for pregnant women seemed a bit lacking. While it's my responsibility to communicate these things clearly, I had mentioned wanting meat thoroughly cooked but still found roast beef served at breakfast—it surprised me since pregnant women are particularly cautious about meat dishes. Also, despite mentioning no cheese allowed, there were dishes with cheese on top. It might be difficult for some guests to convey all their dietary restrictions due to pregnancy or other reasons; having something like a checklist or guide would be helpful in ensuring careful preparation of meals. Additionally, offering non-caffeinated tea options would have been even better. That said, overall it was an extremely satisfying stay with excellent service and accommodation! The balance between attentive yet unobtrusive hospitality suited me perfectly—I truly enjoyed it. Choosing Amanohashidate Rikyuu Hoshine as our last trip before giving birth turned out to be such a great decision! Next time we visit will hopefully be when I can enjoy some drinks again!     Relaxing Summer Vacation

    Summer vacation in Kyoto by the Sea. After consulting Chat GPT, I decided on this accommodation, and it exceeded my expectations. The room had two types of onsen and a pool. I was able to relax and enjoy a sense of escape from the ordinary. Each dish was exceptional. While it may not be inexpensive, the relaxation it provided was well worth it.

    The Kaiseki cuisine was beautifully presented and delicious. The room was clean, with a stunning view of the sea. The Onsen, featuring "Golden Water" and "Silver Water," was spacious, and stepping out onto the terrace from the bath was amazing! The hotel staff provided excellent service right from the shuttle service. Thank you very much!

    It was my second visit, and it was comfortable again.

    Attentive service and thoughtful room decor. The onsen was also very comfortable. Although it took some courage to enter the room's pool as the weather suddenly turned cool despite the earlier heat, once in, it was truly refreshing. That private space is irreplaceable. The slightly chilled body was gently warmed by the soothing golden onsen water, providing a pleasant and cozy experience. The meals were exceptionally delicious as always, leaving no room for complaints. While I found the portions a bit large for myself, my family member finished everything and was thoroughly satisfied with the evening meal. This is an accommodation that makes you want to return again and again. Dinner offers seasonal delights to enjoy each time, but breakfast also exceeded expectations in every way. I've uploaded some photos here. P.S.: Thank you for promptly arranging a shuttle service when I forgot my bag with swimwear at the station—it allowed me to fully enjoy the pool!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I used this for the first time for a birthday celebration trip. The calm atmosphere of the room and the excellent Onsen made it very relaxing. The kaiseki meal was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Breakfast was also luxurious, with colorful Japanese side dishes neatly arranged on a tray. I was extremely satisfied, and it became a wonderful memory. I would love to use this place again.

    The Onsen and pool were excellent.

    The staff contacted us prior to our stay to ask about any food preferences or allergies, which was very helpful. They also prepared a machine for inflating pool floats in advance, which we appreciated. The staff's hospitality was excellent. When we left the room for meals, they were already waiting at the main building, making us feel warmly welcomed. Snacks and drinks provided at different times of the day added enjoyment throughout our stay. Having snacks available in the room after meals was a nice touch. The complimentary drinks in the room made it convenient to stay without needing to bring anything extra. Both the Onsen and pool were highly satisfying. As an Onsen lover, I especially enjoyed warming up after cooling down in the pool. The meal portions were generous, and I personally found breakfast exceptionally delicious. Being close to the sea meant that seafood dishes were particularly fresh and enjoyable. While there was mention of high-end furniture in the room, it didn’t feel especially luxurious; additionally, due to having a pool nearby, some wear on flooring leading to balconies from water droplets was noticeable—perhaps adding mats could help address this issue. Overall, we had a satisfying experience. Thank you very much!

    It was an accommodation I would like to visit again.

    I recently stayed at "Hoshine" in Miyazu. Everything was absolutely wonderful... The meals were carefully prepared and delicious, with beautiful presentation that truly warmed my heart. I was especially impressed by the variety and beauty of the breakfast dishes! The view from the open-air bath was stunning, allowing me to fully enjoy a luxurious and relaxing time. The hospitality was excellent, and the smiles of all the staff were very comforting. I would love to visit again during crab season next time. This is a lovely accommodation I want to revisit with someone special!

    Private Space

    The Room was spacious, clean, and furnished with designer furniture and high-end appliances, making it truly comfortable. The indoor bath with silver hot spring water and the open-air bath with golden hot spring water were larger than expected and incredibly relaxing; I used them multiple times. The pool was impressively large, which was a pleasant surprise. Adults can fully enjoy themselves without worrying about being seen by others. Every dish served was delicious, with excellent serving speed, leaving me completely satisfied. Additionally, the sweets and drinks available in the lobby were free to enjoy, changing to snacks and alcohol depending on the time—a fantastic service. The staff's hospitality was exceptional, making me want to stay here again for sure!

    We stayed here for our honeymoon.

    We chose to indulge for our honeymoon and stayed here. We decided on a room with an onsen, and the view from the bathtub was stunning, making it a truly enjoyable experience. For dinner, we had a course meal that was beautifully presented and delicious. The celebration from the ryokan staff made us very happy as well. After dinner, we were touched by the lounge service offering drinks and snacks. In the morning, we took a walk along the seaside near the ryokan and enjoyed breathtaking views. This was our first time staying at such a luxurious accommodation, and every moment was filled with awe-inspiring experiences that became unforgettable memories for us. Thank you so much!

    It was an extremely satisfying stay. Although some time has passed since my stay, I wanted to share my experience... The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were absolutely delicious. The breakfast, in particular, was among the best I've ever had at any Ryokan or Hotel. I would love to return just to enjoy that breakfast again. The Room and Onsen were very comfortable, allowing me to fully relax. The hospitality in the lobby and throughout the stay made it feel truly luxurious and indulgent.
