    I had a relaxing stay.

    It was a cozy accommodation, not luxurious but very relaxing. The room had a terrace, and spending time there was very comfortable. The meals were also extremely delicious. I would love to stay here again.

    Highlights: - The spacious Room bath is a Japanese-style space crafted with stone and wood, filled with Onsen water. There are even candles for a dimly lit, relaxing atmosphere—absolutely perfect! - Comfortable samue loungewear and pajamas are provided in the Room. - The reclining bath in the large public Onsen was magical and incredibly relaxing. - Breakfast! A rich buffet menu featuring freshly cooked rice from a traditional pot—simply unbeatable! - Thank you to all the staff for your thoughtful care and excellent hospitality.

    It was a very lovely accommodation.

    We stayed in a top-floor Room with an open-air bath. It was our first time staying here, and we are grateful for the staff's warm and attentive service. The food was excellent in both quality and quantity; we were so impressed by the sashimi that we even ordered extra sea bream and sea urchin. We also enjoyed local sake, though we were so focused on the meal that we couldn't drink much. The Room was spacious with beautiful interior design. Overlooking the canal from above and enjoying views like those seen on TV right from the Room was truly amazing. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Otaru!

    Luxury Stay with Pet-Friendly Rooms and Relaxation by the Otaru Canal

    This year, I traveled to Hokkaido with my beloved dog and stayed mainly in Otaru. I had a wonderful time enjoying the historic streets. Although the exterior had the charm of a traditional Ryokan, I was honestly a bit worried about what kind of Room it would be since it was pet-friendly. However, I was deeply impressed by the thoughtful hospitality of the staff who welcomed us and by the spacious and lovely Room we were guided to. I would love to stay here again if I have another opportunity.

    Otaru's Top Pick: Relaxing Accommodation Right in Front of the Canal

    We stayed at this accommodation before boarding Asuka II. Located in a prime spot along the canal, the room offered a special experience with views of Otaru Port's cruise terminal and the Asuka II we were set to board the next day, enhancing our travel excitement. The entire accommodation reflects meticulous attention to detail, from the room design and ambiance of the facility to its fragrance and lighting, creating a comfortable space. The staff were very friendly, leaving a warm impression with their hospitality. The bath was exceptionally clean and pleasant. We were particularly impressed by the innovative feature of enjoying audio while relaxing—a perfect way to unwind with music after a day of travel. This has become one of our must-visit accommodations. Highly recommended for anyone planning a stay in Otaru!

    Accommodation with a Canal View

    A perfect accommodation with a view of the canal. During check-in, there were some minor questions regarding parking guidance and facility explanations upon arrival at the hotel. The room was a twin on the canal side, and the tatami space was much appreciated. We enjoyed the Onsen on both the 1st and 2nd floors; both were excellent, but the one on the 2nd floor was particularly unique. Meals included a set menu for dinner and a buffet for breakfast. Both were satisfying (I might have eaten too much at breakfast).

    The breakfast was delicious!

    We stayed as a family with small children. The guidance from the accommodation staff and the experience of staying in the room were excellent, but the breakfast was especially delicious. Due to our circumstances, we had dinner outside, but in hindsight, it might have been better to dine at the accommodation.

    The meals were delicious, and the view of the canal from the room was great. The service was attentive, and the Onsen was also excellent.

    Used for accommodation during a university club's commemorative event.

    I stayed here for the 65th-anniversary event of the Otaru University of Commerce Swimming Club. During the Obon period, I chose this single room, which I had used before, as it was affordable, convenient, and offered good facilities and meals. Although it was on the city side with no view, the bed was large, the room spacious, and the toilet and sink were clean and easy to use. The room also had a sofa and table, making it very comfortable. I enjoyed using the Onsen large bathhouse to relieve my fatigue. Even though I returned to the hotel late at night after a banquet and gatherings, the night staff were kind, and handling of my room key was smooth and helpful. The breakfast buffet allowed me to relax while enjoying my meal and recharge myself for the day ahead. I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    It was a Room with a full view of Otaru Canal.

    I stayed in a special room with a private onsen and panoramic view. From the large window in the room, I had a perfect view of Otaru Canal. Whether it was during check-in at sunset, when the lights illuminated the canal at night, sunrise in the morning, or later in the day, I enjoyed seeing its many beautiful faces and was thoroughly satisfied with my stay. The room also had its own bath, which was convenient for late-night use, but the public bath was equally relaxing and enjoyable. The amenities and facilities were thoughtfully prepared to meet every need, showcasing exceptional hospitality throughout this wonderful accommodation. The staff were always friendly and welcoming. The kaiseki dinner was beautifully crafted with delicious dishes full of Hokkaido flavors, while breakfast offered an extensive buffet selection that was equally tasty (choosing a meal-inclusive plan turned out to be an excellent decision!). I would love to stay here again on my next trip to Hokkaido! If I may make one suggestion—it would be great if items like decorative pieces (Otaru glassware?) or tableware displayed in the room could be available for purchase as souvenirs!

    One-night stay in Otaru during the Tide Festival

    The staff provided exceptional service, making the stay very pleasant. Upon entering the room, there were welcome treats such as manju and a set of rice crackers in a stylish drawstring bag, which added a warm touch of hospitality. The Onsen alternates between men and women from evening to morning, allowing guests to enjoy both sides. It also features steam baths and open-air baths, offering a very relaxing experience. The Facility has an old-fashioned charm with a sense of history. The room only had a sink without any bath or shower facilities. Breakfast was buffet-style with standard options but offered plenty of variety and was very delicious. It's quite a walk from Otaru Station.

    It was my first stay...

    It was my first stay, and it was a wonderful accommodation. I checked in after 11 PM following a dinner meeting, and the staff welcomed me warmly without any hesitation. They even offered whiskey as a service. The breakfast was meticulously prepared, showcasing great attention to detail. Although the room did not have a bath, I enjoyed the morning bath with well-maintained facilities such as an open-air bath and steam bath, which allowed me to relax fully. The checkout time at 12 PM also let me depart leisurely.

    The staff provided excellent and attentive service. The adorable mascot dog, Kanaru-kun, was a delightful addition. The quality of the breakfast was outstanding. The Room was spacious, and having access to YouTube and other streaming services was a great touch. The Onsen in the bathroom was romantic and absolutely amazing! I will definitely stay here again if I visit Otaru!

    Everything is of the highest quality!

    I have stayed here multiple times. I enjoy using the onsen and steam sauna during my solo trips, but this was my first stay in the newly renovated single room. The size of the room remains unchanged, but it now features a desk and chair for one person, and the wallpaper, curtains, and bed covers have been updated with a unified design. The toilet has also been upgraded to a modern style. Additionally, the door has been changed to an auto-lock system. Although the shower and bathtub have been removed, I found it more convenient than before. However, since the room is still the same size as before, opening a suitcase makes it feel cramped; nonetheless, having space to eat or drink alone was very much appreciated. Of course, my main purpose—the onsen and Gardia sauna—was enjoyable as always without feeling crowded. Breakfast is very delicious; however, I would appreciate some changes in menu options from time to time. The staff's smiles are wonderful as well! This is truly an accommodation I would love to stay at again.

    After completing the Reservation, I was surprised to find that the room had been renovated without a bathtub, but the large public bath was not crowded and I was able to enjoy a comfortable stay. However, due to the room layout, it might be challenging to open a large suitcase if brought in. For dinner, despite limitations on ingredient variety, the menu was thoughtfully designed each time so that even during a Multiple Night Stay it did not feel repetitive.

    I stayed for 2 night...

    I stayed for 2 nights with my husband and two pets. The accommodation was pet-friendly, the room was spacious, and it was very comfortable to stay. The onsen was excellent, and the changing area was kept very clean. I wish I could have stayed longer if I had more time. The meals were also delicious. It was an accommodation I would love to stay at again when visiting Otaru. Lastly, I got to take a photo of the mascot dog, Kanaru-kun. Thank you very much!

    It was the best acco...

    It was the best accommodation! Everything I could think of wanting was provided, the front desk staff remembered me right after check-in, and the resident dog was adorable. The room was comfortable. I didn’t have dinner, but breakfast, though not abundant in variety, was delicious. The person who served rice and miso soup during breakfast was wonderful. I plan to visit again next Golden Week!

    It was a warm and welcoming accommodation.

    The accommodation provided boots for parents and children not accustomed to the cold, shared stories about skiing, and offered small thoughtful services like Yakult after a bath. My son was very satisfied with the stay. Although we only had breakfast, it was abundant in variety and elegant while enjoying the view of the canal. Thank you very much.

    The steam bath and hanging chair were excellent.

    During my trip to Sapporo, my back pain worsened due to the cold, so I made a last-minute reservation at this hotel with an onsen. It turned out to be perfect! The steam bath warmed me up from the core, and the short distance from the room to the bath made moving around easy and comfortable. I couldn’t sit on regular hard chairs because of my back pain, but the hanging chair on the balcony was incredibly comfortable. After bathing, I relaxed while gently swaying in the hanging chair and enjoyed a peaceful view of Otaru Canal. The sunrise was also beautiful. The staff were very friendly, and it’s a shame I could only stay for one night. I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    Perfect for sightseeing!

    It was easy to find after a short walk from Otaru Station to the canal. Major tourist spots are within walking distance, and with the checkout time at 12:00, I was able to enjoy a leisurely morning stroll around the canal after breakfast, visit one of the Nitori Art Museums, relax in the room for a bit, and then head home. Although the weather wasn't great and I couldn't take an evening walk along the canal, I enjoyed the view from my room. The food was as delicious as expected, and I especially loved the scones at breakfast. I stayed here for the first time after finding a special plan due to ongoing construction work. Since I'd never stayed overnight in Otaru before, it was nice not having to worry about time and fully enjoying my trip. The only disappointment was that I couldn't meet their resident dog.

    Simply the best!

    It is indeed a wonderful accommodation. We were informed in advance about the ongoing construction, and we truly appreciated this thoughtful gesture. We stayed for two nights and had a very relaxing time. When we mentioned our thoughts about dinner in the survey, we received a prompt response, so next time we would like to request dinner as well.     The room was spacious and had a sense of openness. The atmosphere was retro, but it was very clean and well-maintained. I enjoyed the onsen in the private room bath, while my family, who prefers large public baths, seemed very satisfied with those facilities. The meals made full use of Hokkaido's local ingredients, with each dish being carefully prepared and delicious. The staff's courteous service left a positive impression as well.     A family-friendly Onsen Ryokan

    It was a long time since our last stay at Otaru Furukawa. Previously, we stayed as two adults and were satisfied with the service and all the arrangements. This time, we stayed with our 3-year-old child, and although we were quite anxious about staying with a small child, we were treated with great kindness and were very satisfied. When our child spilled juice during dinner, thank you for your prompt and courteous response. We were amazed by the updated services, such as the provision of Otaru wine and Yakult for guests. The detailed explanations for spending time in the room and the consideration for temperature adjustments in the onsen were impressive. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.
