    Last summer, my husb...

    Last summer, my husband and I stayed at this accommodation and had a wonderful experience, so this year we returned for a special 60th birthday trip with our children and grandchildren. The food was as delicious as ever, and the hospitality and service were excellent. Thank you for kindly inviting our grandchild to feed the koi fish; they looked very happy. Two days after check-out, I realized I had left something in the closet, and you kindly sent it back via cash-on-delivery—thank you for your effort. However, if possible, it would have been helpful to receive a phone call about it since we were searching in a hurry. Also, while I understand that baby shampoo may not be in high demand, many accommodations do provide it. It would have been nice if it was available here too; though we brought our own so there was no issue. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We hope to visit again someday!

    Warm and cozy

    The Room with an open-air bath was a bit pricey, but both the Facility and the meals were excellent. The staff's thoughtful gestures and warm smiles made it clear they enjoy their work, leaving us feeling truly heartened.

    The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and absolutely stunning.

    I made a reservation months in advance, predicting the cherry blossom season. Perhaps my wish came true, as the blossoms were in full bloom on May 5th. The garden visible from the onsen in our room also had cherry trees, and petals gracefully fell into the bath, creating a serene atmosphere. The spacious garden was well-maintained and enjoyable during other seasons too, but it was especially stunning during peak cherry blossom season. The cuisine was exceptional; we enjoyed a seasonal and thoughtfully prepared meal served leisurely in our room. All the staff were pleasant and made our stay comfortable from start to finish. Next time, I hope to stay for two nights!

    Accommodation Worth Revisiting

    I decided to visit Otaru this time and made a Reservation here because of the excellent reviews. The garden is spacious, and the lounge is well-equipped, but above all, the hospitality of the staff was outstanding. There were many young female staff members, and their attentiveness and care for guests were impeccable. I heard that the person in charge of our Room had just joined in April, but their dedication to work was evident. The bath was comfortable with an added sauna; however, since the hot spring wasn't my preferred sulfur type, I give it four stars. This Ryokan is definitely worth visiting again!

    It was the best accommodation.

    With exceptional hospitality and top-notch facilities, this was by far the best Ryokan I have ever stayed at. The bath and sauna were particularly impressive. I would love to stay here again.

    Sainokuni Couple

    A charming accommodation filled with homely hospitality. The garden is lovely, and the bath and meals are satisfying. The koi pond space was also very relaxing. Additionally, the attentiveness of the front desk staff was impressive. I would love to visit again.

    It is a good accommodation.

    I think it is a good accommodation, but the operation during the second night's dinner was poor. We had to wait for a long time, and the dessert ice cream was served melted. Being told, "Sorry, the ice cream is melted," felt out of place for a high-end ryokan. It seemed as though they prioritized making things easier for the kitchen at the expense of guest satisfaction, and I couldn't understand the meaning behind their apology. If they noticed it was melted, I feel they should have apologized for the delay and replaced it instead. Perhaps this reflects differences in how ryokans perceive customer service. It was disappointing because everything else was perfect.

    The service was pleasant.

    The cherry blossoms were a bit early, which was unfortunate, but this is something that varies every year and cannot be helped. However, the cherry blossoms near the large public bath were in bloom, so that made up for it. The staff provided excellent service with a comfortable sense of distance. Dinner was served in 3-4 courses, and compared to before, the presentation has become more refined with better use of tableware, making the meal even more enjoyable. This was impressive. The private open-air bath in our room allowed us to relax fully; we requested a slightly higher temperature by one degree, and it was perfect. Even during light rain, the provided woven hat allowed us to enjoy the bath comfortably.

    Thank you for your hospitality during the celebration of my elderly mother's birthday. The staff provided such warm and kind service. My mother was hesitant until the last moment, worrying she might cause trouble, but thanks to everyone's kindness, she had a truly enjoyable time. She said she was glad we decided to go. We are deeply grateful. Thank you very much!

    It was a very lovely accommodation.

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We brought along our two small children and had a comfortable stay. The meals were slightly underwhelming as we had high expectations; the meat was a bit tough. The sauna was our favorite part!

    The meals, ambiance of the facility, and staff's smiles were all excellent.

    Dinner offers a choice of one dish between abalone and steak, featuring local ingredients and beautifully prepared seafood dishes that provide high satisfaction. Breakfast includes delightful options such as soy-marinated salmon roe and grilled red salmon, pleasing both the eyes and palate. The staff's warm smiles leave a lasting impression. The lounge drink service, including sparkling wine and beer, is appreciated but could be improved by limiting to one glass per guest and offering alternatives to beer. Wi-Fi in the room tends to be slow or disconnects frequently; this could also use improvement. However, the exceptional quality of the cuisine makes this accommodation highly recommended. The retro atmosphere throughout the building is charming, especially the slightly winding hallway on the second floor—it's worth taking a stroll there!

    It exceeded our expectations!

    The Onsen and sauna are simply the best! You can feel the thoughtfulness everywhere, from towels and gowns to drinks and spaces. The Facility is clean throughout, with well-thought-out furnishings and relaxing spaces scattered around. The smiles and greetings from the staff were wonderful, making my stay truly comfortable. I will definitely visit again!

    It was a well-equipped Stays. Despite being a long-established Ryokan, it also has a modern sauna.

    Surprisingly, the sauna Facility was well-equipped, and we felt refreshed. We were surprised to hear that we were the only Japanese guests. It seems that the snowy scenery is popular. I thought it was crowded even on a weekday, and that was the reason. Thank you for offering us coffee even after check-out. We enjoyed the variety of drinks available in various places. I wanted to roast mochi over the bonfire, but I was too full from dinner. What a pity. The garden was also splendid, and the snowy scenery was beautiful. The futon was comfortable, and I slept well, so I am very satisfied. Thank you very much.

    The bath is excellent.

    From the warm welcome, we were treated with great care. Since it was a cold day, the welcome drink was honey yuzu tea, I believe, and it was delicious and comforting. The large public bath had one indoor bath and one open-air bath, which seemed a bit few, but perhaps because Kourakuen has many rooms with private open-air baths, we rarely overlapped with other guests and were able to enjoy the bath almost exclusively for our family, relaxing and taking our time. The temperature of the Onsen was just right, and it was truly a pleasant Onsen! The sauna also allowed for Loyly, and there were places to hydrate without having to go to the changing room, which showed thoughtful consideration. The meals were satisfying kaiseki cuisine served in beautiful dishes. The leftover rice was made into rice balls for us, which we enjoyed as a late-night snack. It was a very healing trip.

    I stayed at several onsen Stays in Kyushu and was very satisfied. Thank you for your kind attention to the children. The thoughtful touches like drinks in the bath were particularly nice.

    Wonderful Stays

    As per the review, it was a wonderful property. The staff's hospitality, drink service in the lounge and sauna, and the bonfire were all relaxing and enjoyable. Dinner was served in the room, allowing for a leisurely experience, and breakfast was luxurious and delicious. It has become a property I want to visit again.

    Making an effort

    We stayed for one night in a room with an open-air bath. The property is vast with a magnificent garden, giving the impression of being well-maintained and managed. Inside the building, there are several small spaces with ponds where koi and goldfish swim, providing a very soothing atmosphere. The water in the ponds is also clear, indicating thorough cleaning. The property is meticulously cleaned, reflecting the intention to provide a comfortable stay for guests. As for the room, it felt a bit cramped due to some dead space, possibly from renovations, but the spacious open-air bath allows for relaxation. Although I express my opinions in the review after staying, I felt that the efforts of the management and staff are what make this a relaxing property. I would like to visit again.

    I had an enjoyable stay.

    It was a trip with my sister and our elderly mother, and we were healed by the subtle yet warm hospitality of Otaru Korakuen, leaving us with very good memories. The room was beautifully arranged, and the open-air bath in the room was spacious enough for the three of us to relax together. The in-room dining allowed us to enjoy the seasonal colors and was very delicious. The large public baths were spacious, and both the open-air bath and the forest sauna provided a refreshing scent of the trees, allowing us to fully relax both body and mind. We would definitely like to visit again, perhaps during the cherry blossom season. My mother was also very pleased. We are sincerely grateful for the warm hospitality of all the staff. Thank you very much.

    The best experience in every genre.

    I used this accommodation for a trip with friends. First of all, the customer service is truly wonderful. As we approached the inn, a staff member came to take our luggage and carried it to the room while we checked in. I was impressed by the courteous service, including their language and the abundance of amenities. I will definitely use this place again when staying in Otaru.

    It was a wonderful inn.

    I used this place to celebrate my 60th birthday and wedding anniversary. I had heard rumors about Korakuen from acquaintances, so I had high expectations, but all the staff exceeded them with their smiles, and the food and bath were wonderful. The garden was also splendid, and I would like to visit again when the autumn leaves have started a bit more or during the cherry blossom season. One disappointing thing was that the lampshade in the room was cracked. I gave a small tip to the person who brought the food, but the next day I received it back from the front desk. I was surprised because I had never experienced such a thing at any hotel. I will definitely go back to be healed again.

    I had a very comfortable stay.

    Above all, the staff's hospitality at the ryokan was exceptionally good. The hot springs were clean and creatively designed with saunas, allowing us to enjoy both the first and second days. With this, I felt that a bath in the room wasn't necessary. The meals were well-portioned, creatively prepared, and delicious. We had a great time playing table tennis after a long time.

    A visit after a long time. The sauna has been renewed. First, the löyly captures the current trends, and the cold bath maintains a water temperature of around 16.5 to 18 degrees, possibly due to the chiller effect, which is good. There is a space to relax while viewing the Japanese garden. Moreover, they offer mini canned beer (SAKURA Cellar), providing every possible comfort. The customer service seems to have become more courteous than before. You can drink alcohol in the lounge. You could also feed the koi fish. One disappointment is the food; it is not served freshly made. Some dishes were dry, which is unfortunate because the food itself is delicious. Perhaps this is due to the large number of rooms, which is 38.

    It's surprising to find such a wonderful hot spring inn away from the tourist spots in Otaru. The spacious garden is very well-maintained, and dining while gazing at the garden, the open-air bath, and the nighttime bonfire were all very soothing. We booked a room with an open-air bath, which was also a delightful rock bath. The meals were elaborate and had a very gentle flavor, perfect for seniors. The "Nanatsuboshi" rice was delicious. Above all, I felt that the staff were very pleasant and well-trained. The Korean woman who attended to us had a lovely smile. We had a lively conversation and enjoyed a wonderful time. I think I visit hot spring inns quite often, and I would recommend this place to others.
