    I’ve been staying here every year for the past few years, and I’m always extremely satisfied no matter when I visit!     Inuyama Stroll

    We arrived at the Accommodation after a stroll through the castle town from Inuyama Station. With an outstanding location overlooking Inuyama Castle and the Kiso River, we were very satisfied with the Onsen, the food, and the service. We found a great Accommodation, so we’d like to visit again in a different season. It was a little disappointing that we woke up several times during the night due to the air conditioner noise, but everything else was excellent.

    We had a wonderful time.

    It was a wonderful Accommodation. We stayed to celebrate with our family, and time flew by in such a cozy space. The private bath was spacious and well equipped, which was very relaxing, but we especially enjoyed soaking in the bath in our Room while looking out at Inuyama Castle. We loved how the view changed from evening to night to morning. The meals were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. We were also comforted by the clean, refined atmosphere and the friendly staff. The live harp performance after dinner was fantastic, and I would love to hear it again. (During the performance, one staff member was noisily restocking drinks in the lounge refrigerator, which made it hard to hear the music at times. I hope this can be handled more considerately.) Overall, it was an excellent Accommodation. We would love to visit again.

    Although a typhoon hit directly, the Accommodation was excellent.

    I visited on June 2, 2026. The weather was terrible due to a direct typhoon hit, but the Accommodation was outstanding. Because of the typhoon, I considered canceling the trip, but since the Tokaido Shinkansen rarely stops running, I decided to go ahead. As expected, the Tokaido Shinkansen and Meitetsu were operating normally, while the Tokaido Line and Kintetsu services were suspended. Wakayama and Mie suffered damage, but Gifu was not affected as severely. Due to worsening weather, I gave up visiting Inuyama Castle. The meals, Onsen, Facility amenities, and service were all excellent. The riverside Room was especially wonderful. The Onsen bath in particular was a semi-open-air bath that really helped during the storm. It has a roof and becomes an open-air bath when you open the storm shutters; even while the typhoon passed through, I could still bathe by closing them—something that wouldn’t have been possible with a standard open-air bath. Next time, I’d like to return on a day with better weather. After my stay date, this Accommodation was featured on “Tabi Salad.”

    Communication

    Following our conversation with the manager, we also enjoyed a lively chat with the staff member who served us during our meal, and since it was his day off the next day, he even kindly left us a handwritten note. It felt like an adult kind of relaxation—distinct from the polite but scripted service that’s so common at luxury Accommodations. We also had a good laugh when the head chef couldn’t quite remember the name of the corn, and we were happy to be able to choose from Kenzo Estate wines. Inuyama Castle, which was our main destination, was just a short walk away, and we were lucky to enter without any lines at all. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    A Welcoming Accommodation

    After checking out, I left my luggage and was exploring Inuyama when I started feeling unwell from the heat. When I asked if I could return to the Accommodation to rest for a while, they kindly gave me a cold towel and chilled water despite it being after checkout, showed genuine concern, and told me to use the lounge. When we got into a taxi at the end, they bowed deeply and saw us off—I received wonderful hospitality right to the very last moment. Each Room was spacious, and every Room had its own bath. I loved how everything could be completed within the Room. I also saw guests using wheelchairs, and I felt it would be a comfortable place to stay with peace of mind. The meals were excellent as well; however, at breakfast, in Rooms closer to the kitchen we could hear staff voices a bit busily in the background. Personally, I also felt breakfast could have had one more creative touch. Still, everything was perfect overall. We made great memories. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

    Excellent hospitality

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. After visiting the Tokugawa Art Museum, we were looking for an Onsen area near Nagoya and chose your Ryokan because of its excellent reviews. Just as everyone said, we were completely satisfied with everything—your service, meals, the cleanliness of the Facility, and the location. All of your staff were wonderful. In particular, the person who served us at breakfast (I wish I could have seen their name tag) kindly offered to store our luggage even after checkout and arrange a ride to the station. I saw them at the entrance when we went out to stroll around Inuyama Castle, and again in the hallway when we left our Room at checkout—they saw us off with a warm smile. At dinner, the head chef came to greet us and even checked whether the seasoning was too strong (as we are from Kyoto). At checkout, the proprietress (?) not only greeted us at the entrance but also took photos of us with the castle in the background and bowed deeply until we were out of sight. I felt your attentiveness in hospitality was truly outstanding. The food was also excellent—rare ingredients such as flathead fish, delicious ayu sweetfish, meat grilled slowly at a low temperature over a long time, sakura shrimp, and more. If I had to mention one thing (it may simply be personal preference), I felt the mixed rice was a little too soft—I prefer it firm enough to get some crispy rice on the bottom. I also regret that we left behind our complimentary sparkling wine. Staying at such a wonderful Ryokan for my wife’s birthday became a great memory for us. Thank you very much.

    The first thing that...

    The first thing that took my breath away upon arrival was the magnificent view of the Kiso River from the lobby. The building was fully renovated nine years ago, and with a significantly reduced number of guest rooms, it offers a luxurious layout. The rooms are lined up in a straight line from the lobby, making it very easy to navigate. From the maisonette-style room we stayed in, we could enjoy views of both the Kiso River and Inuyama Castle, thanks to thoughtful design. The Onsen was also wonderful. The water is not diluted, and it felt incredibly soothing—you can truly appreciate the quality of the spring. The private bath in particular was a luxurious space where you can admire Inuyama Castle’s main keep up close. The meals were more than satisfying in both quality and quantity. Above all, the hospitality shown by the young staff member who served us at dinner left a strong impression; their attentive care and warm service made our dining time even more enjoyable and memorable. With its beautiful Facility design, excellent Onsen, delicious meals, and outstanding hospitality from the staff, it was an extremely satisfying stay. I would definitely love to return if I have another opportunity.

    An Accommodation where you can savor the luxury of doing nothing

    I was impressed by the smooth and pleasant welcome. The Facilities are well maintained—quiet, refined, and with spacious Rooms—an Accommodation where you can enjoy the luxury of doing nothing. The staff’s smiles were wonderful, and I truly appreciate your thoughtful care and consideration for my elderly mother. However, a few things were disappointing this time: The flowers in the Room looked wilted from the moment we arrived. Dinner was served in a window-side dining area, but our seat had a constant view of a crane (I was told it was due to the cormorant fishing season, but I felt some effort to preserve the atmosphere would have been appreciated). Breakfast service felt rushed, and this was the only time I sensed a gap from what I expect of a high-quality Accommodation. That said, your signature Japanese breakfast was delicious—I could tell each dish had been carefully prepared! At 11:00 checkout time, housekeeping staff were already moving back and forth from the lobby to guest Rooms. Even if it was after checkout time, I would have liked to leave after savoring those last moments a little longer. This was my second stay. I’ve mentioned several points, but with convenient access from Nagoya as well as its strong reputation for hospitality in Aichi, I hope you will continue striving to improve. Thank you very much.

    I was satisfied.

    A bath with a view of Inuyama Castle, and cuisine that is as beautiful as it is delicious. The cheerful staff and professional service made this the most satisfying Ryokan stay I have ever had.

    A Hotel filled with warm hospitality

    The Room showed significant wear compared with the photos, with noticeable peeling paint in various places, so I felt renovations should be done as soon as possible. As for the Facility, for a Room that costs JPY 150,000 per night, it is inconvenient to have to open and close the blinds manually. In Hotels in the same price range, they are usually motorized; if not, most use sliding doors or similar fittings that open and close smoothly. The TV was also outdated, and only Netflix was available for on-demand viewing, which feels unusual these days. In addition, the bed was not very comfortable. The amenities were underwhelming for the price. Perhaps due to recent eco trends, more Hotels are using bamboo toothbrushes and brushes—but those are not good. Especially the toothbrush: the bristles fall out and it hurts; I think this should be improved. On the other hand, there were three options for loungewear—samue, yukata, and pajamas—and all were very comfortable. I would have liked a bit more creativity in the lounge drink selection, especially at night. It would have been nice to have whiskey. The food was enjoyable; you could see thoughtful effort from the head chef in details like plating. It seemed like someone who has worked seriously in Kyoto. However—perhaps due to budget constraints—there wasn’t anything particularly standout. Breakfast was similar. Everything tasted very good; I just found myself thinking there might not be much budget behind it. All of the staff were crisp, quick to respond, and professional—I felt it was a team of true professionals. When staying at a Ryokan costing over JPY 100,000 per night outside major cities, you sometimes encounter laid-back local staff that can be frustratingly slow; here everything was smooth and I never needed to call out or ask for anything. There is a new Hotel next door by Yurakuen nearby where there seem to be many guests from certain countries who come into the tea room barefoot; here it was almost entirely Japanese guests. There were some younger guests as well but no one was noisy—I could relax quietly in a calm atmosphere. Overall I think this is a good Accommodation. I believe it’s probably the best around Inuyama area area,, so I'd like I'd stay again again..

    Retirement Celebration

    After dinner, we were surprised with a “Retirement Celebration” dessert. Thank you for the thoughtful hospitality from all the staff. Every dish was delicious. We were moved by the view of Inuyama Castle from the open-air bath. We have visited many Onsen, but the water quality at “Inuyama Onsen” is outstanding. We were also very happy to receive a message card when we checked out. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    This is a wonderful Accommodation, ideal for longer stays.

    This Accommodation is located in the quiet town of Inuyama, about 30 minutes from Nagoya. We received a very warm welcome from the moment we arrived, and the staff created a wonderful atmosphere by chatting with us to make our stay enjoyable. The Room was spacious for two people, and I think no matter which Room you stay in, you can enjoy beautiful views of Inuyama Castle and the Kiso River. We also enjoyed the night view over the Kiso River. The hammock Room was especially fun and relaxing as we gently swayed. At checkout, we were happy to receive a message mentioning that our stay was inspired by a Meiji Mura event. The photo shows the Western-style breakfast, but the Japanese breakfast was also delicious. We would definitely like to visit again.

    I stayed at the Accommodation with great anticipation. I was extremely satisfied with the wonderful Room and the beautifully presented, delicious meals! I was especially moved by the illuminated Inuyama Castle view from the bath in my Room. I would love to visit Touya Geihanro again when I have the chance. Thank you very much!

    Favorite Accommodation

    An Accommodation you’ll want to return to again and again. This time, the view of Inuyama Castle from the bath feels even closer from our Room. Recommended for castle lovers. The meal featuring rice with sakura shrimp was especially delicious. As always, we were completely satisfied with the dishes that exceeded our expectations!

    Excellent dining

    Upon arrival, I was captivated by the calm, refined interior and the view of the Kiso River from the lobby. In my Room, I felt the warmth of wood and enjoyed views of Inuyama Castle from both the balcony and the semi-open-air bath. Going up to the second floor of the unique maisonette, I relaxed while gazing at the wide flow of the Kiso River. The meals were outstanding—not only in flavor but also in presentation and tableware—and I could sense the chef’s artistic touch. Even the tea cups in the Room showed great attention to detail. It had been a while since I truly enjoyed such satisfying Japanese cuisine, and thanks to the warm hospitality of a young staff member who served dinner, I was able to enjoy my solo meal as well. The freshly cooked sakura shrimp rice at dinner was wonderfully fragrant and delicious, and the freshly made dashimaki omelet at breakfast was also excellent. I didn’t know much about Inuyama Onsen, but it is a wonderfully soothing hot spring that left my skin feeling moisturized. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity.

    A top-tier Onsen Accommodation in Aichi Prefecture

    There are only a handful of Ryokan in Aichi Prefecture with guest rooms featuring open-air Onsen baths, and among them, Geihanro clearly stands out. What I especially liked was the service, the Onsen, and the location (a 7-minute walk to Inuyama Castle). Overall, you can really feel their genuine commitment to hospitality. In my opinion, Aichi Prefecture generally has a lower standard for Onsen Ryokan, but this place can compete at the level of The whole country.

    Perfect location

    A single-story Accommodation at the foot of Inuyama Castle, a National Treasure standing atop a small cliff on the left bank of the Kiso River. The Room faces the castle, and you can gaze up at Inuyama Castle both from the Room and while soaking in the semi-open-air bath. Climb up to the attic and step out onto the terrace to look down over the serene Kiso River, where spot-billed ducks play and fish leap. (From the private semi-open-air bath, you can enjoy both views at once.) The water is a clear, gently alkaline Onsen that feels wonderful—I ended up soaking five times in just one night.

    Everything is wonderful.

    The Onsen was silky and wonderfully relaxing, and the Room overlooking the river was also very comfortable. From the observation lounge, we had a clear view of the castle. It looked beautiful both illuminated at night and in the morning sun. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, and we felt the drinks were reasonably priced as well. Everyone who took care of us was full of hospitality, making our stay truly pleasant. We stayed to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday, and it became a wonderful memory.\nWe would definitely like to stay again.

    I treated myself and splurged on this stay. Thanks to your heartfelt hospitality, I was able to relax and spend a comfortable time even on my own. Above all, I believe it was because of the kind words and smiles from all the staff, and the perfect sense of distance. The service was wonderful, and I could go to the lounge anytime for drinks and snacks whenever I liked. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent—pleasant conversations with the lovely staff, delicious food, beautiful spring-inspired presentation, and generous portions that left me completely satisfied. I also enjoyed the tableware. The in-Room Onsen felt so good that I ended up soaking six times. I felt the shower water pressure was a bit weak. I felt the same in the private bath as well. The water quality was outstanding—my skin became silky smooth—and I was very happy and fully satisfied. The changing room also felt clean and well maintained. I visited the lounge many times too—reading magazines, enjoying tea, and at night listening to a saxophone performance for a truly wonderful time. My favorite spot was the tatami area on the second floor of the maisonette. With Yogiboos and the scent of aroma oil, I could soak in the Onsen, cool down afterward, doze off a little, and fully relax. Everything was excellent, and I would love to stay again as a reward for working hard at my job. Staying solo is wonderfully luxurious, but next time I'd like to bring my mother as well while sightseeing at Inuyama Castle.     We came for our seco...

    We came for our second visit, looking forward to the delicious meals and the open-air bath in our Room. (My mother’s third.) This time, there was a live harp performance, and we were soothed by its elegant tones. My mother has some difficulty walking, so sightseeing that involves a lot of walking is hard for her, but this Accommodation is perfect for a relaxing stay-in trip. We’ll be back again.     My first 5-star rating

    It’s rare to be fully satisfied with both the Room/Facility and the meals, but here we were delighted with both. It felt well worth the price—perhaps even a great value. Each dish was beautifully presented, full of seasonal flair, and a pleasure to look at. The taste was also top-class. The room was clean and new, and the open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water had a distinctive, silky-smooth quality. I’d love to visit again if I have the chance.
