    Perfect for dining and having fun!

    I ordered the fried moray eel à la carte, and it was excellent. The portions were just right and satisfying, and the bath was clean (the water quality was average, though). It’s an easy trip from Osaka, and with the sea nearby we could take a relaxing walk and also enjoy a bit of swimming and fishing.

    This is an older Hotel.

    The Room seems to have been renovated quite a while ago, but all the Facilities are fairly old. The hallway has a distinctive musty smell. Meals are served in a private dining room. The food is average. Most of the staff are foreigners, and there is little sense of luxury. In short, it’s an old Hotel, and I felt the accommodation cost was quite high for what you get. Please note that the photos in the listing are taken to look much nicer than it actually is. My honest rating would be about 2.5 stars.

    A Satisfying Family Trip

    We stayed for one night even though we live very nearby, as a family trip that wouldn’t be too tiring for my elderly mother. Above all, the meals were truly delicious—made with great ingredients and thoughtful preparation—and we were very satisfied. My mother especially loved the bath in our Room. The open-air bath was also wonderfully relaxing. All of the staff were pleasant, and it felt good to see everyone supporting Mannami together. Just one thing—this may be difficult to address, but although the Facility is old, it has been well renovated; however, depending on the area (especially the lounge and elevator), there was an odor that bothered us. Because of that, I reduced my rating by one star. I’m sorry. Even so, our whole family was very satisfied and would like to visit again. It became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much.

    The view is amazing!

    Right by the sea with an amazing view! We were just as impressed by the wonderful hospitality of all the staff. The meals were also very satisfying, with seasonal vegetables and fresh meat and fish. We spend our days surrounded by air conditioning, so it was refreshing to enjoy the natural, pleasant breeze. Our family is already talking about coming back again next year. Thank you very much.

    The staff service and the food were excellent!

    - The staff were wonderful. Everyone—from the front desk, to the person who showed us to our Room, to the person who served our meals—was truly pleasant and welcoming. In particular, the staff member who brought our meals was very considerate toward our children (elementary and junior high school), which we really appreciated. - Unlike a large Hotel, it never felt crowded, so it was quiet and relaxing. - The food was excellent: seafood, mountain delicacies, seasonal pike conger eel (hamo), and a generous portion of Kumano beef—very satisfying! - The Room has been renovated and is very clean. - The lounge is free to use and very convenient. - Having five types of amenity bags and a wide selection of toothbrushes shows great attention to detail. - We also appreciated receiving bottled water. Just one thing: a 10:00 check-out feels too early— we would have loved to relax until at least 11:00. Thank you very much!

    The food was delicious.

    After completing the Reservation, I saw it featured on TV and was really looking forward to my stay. All the Accommodation staff were cheerful, creating a wonderful atmosphere. I appreciated the welcome drink and the complimentary drinks in the café lounge. The food was beautifully presented and tasted excellent. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Upgraded Dining Plan

    Because we upgraded our meal plan, the hospitality was so generous we could hardly finish everything. The Kumano beef steak and abalone are must-tries. The sea bream rice and the dessert pudding (with brown sugar syrup and Japanese pepper) were also delicious. For breakfast, the whitebait, spicy cod roe, and three kinds of grilled fish were all excellent. The Room key was an old-style type and hard to turn, so it was difficult to get in and out smoothly. I would like this improved.

    Blessed with great w...

    Blessed with great weather, I was completely refreshed in both body and mind by the relaxing Onsen, the warm hospitality of the Hotel staff, and above all the delicious meals, including conger eel. While enjoying the soothing view of Waka-no-ura below, it was a modest one-night trip, but it became a cherished memory.

    We were satisfied with the service and the Room.

    The Japanese-style cuisine was, above all, the best part. Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully focused on traditional Japanese dishes, which we really enjoyed. We hardly had to see other guests, and our meals were served in a separate room. The staff who brought the food were friendly with warm smiles, provided polite explanations, and everything felt perfect—we are truly grateful. One small negative point: recently my husband and I have been particular about Matsusaka beef. At home we sear both sides lightly before eating, so we were not satisfied with the doneness here, and it was disappointing that the meat felt tough. My husband has dental issues so he sliced it thinly and said it was tender, but to me it felt chewy like gum, which was unfortunate.

    Nice Facility

    We stayed for two nights. They changed the menu between the first and second day, so we really enjoyed the meals. They even put a flag with our child’s name on the children’s meal. The staff at reception and in the dining area were also very pleasant. The Room had a great view and even included a tea room, and the corner Room had an exciting layout. The in-room bath was stylish, spacious, and very nice. However, there were a few things that concerned us. It felt like the corners of the bathtub in the in-room bath had not been cleaned thoroughly. We couldn’t adjust the water temperature. Maybe it was possible, but there was no explanation. The futon was thin and felt like sleeping directly on tatami. When we mentioned this at reception, they laid two futons on top of each other on the second night. Amenities were not provided in the Room and had to be picked up from reception, and cute yukata were only available as paid rentals. After dinner, I asked a younger staff member whose armor it was, but they said they didn’t know. The person who assisted us at checkout was also young, but their explanations weren’t very clear. I think they should practice speaking a bit more before working with guests. The Facility was very clean, and we never had any unpleasant interpersonal experiences—I truly think it is a good Ryokan—but it didn’t feel worth the price. At this price range, other Ryokan offer better service.

    Warm Hospitality

    My elderly parents were able to relax and said it was a wonderful Accommodation. At the guest-only drink bar, they enjoyed the massage chairs to their heart’s content, and the open-air bath was spacious and excellent. Both dinner and breakfast clearly reflected thoughtful effort within a limited budget. This Accommodation conveyed the Hotel’s dedication in every detail.

    The meals are excellent.

    This was my first stay. The spectacular ocean-view panorama overlooking Wakaura was truly impressive. I could also enjoy the view from the open-air bath in the Room, so I was able to relax. As a thoughtful touch, I was happy they provided insoles for the indoor sandals. What impressed me most was, of course, the meals. The private dining room let me enjoy my meal at ease without worrying about others. For seafood, the Spanish mackerel shabu-shabu was a fun and unique dish. For meat, the ash-dried Kumano beef had a rich, concentrated flavor. Breakfast surprised me even more—the sheer volume was incredible. It was genuinely moving to be served piping-hot heaping portions of kama-age shirasu (boiled whitebait).

    Ideal for sightseeing in Wakayama City

    We stayed here on the second day of our trip around the Kii Peninsula. If you’re traveling by car, I think it’s an ideal location for sightseeing in Wakayama City. It’s convenient for visiting Wakayama Castle and touring the three shrines of Wakaura. The lobby and overall atmosphere inside the property are pleasant. The Room (standard Japanese-style) has a bit of a retro Showa-era feel, but the bathroom area has been renovated and was clean. If you’re looking for more of a resort vibe, I recommend choosing a Room other than the standard Japanese-style one. The steak at dinner was excellent—perfectly cooked and great flavor. However, the dishes other than the steak felt a little lacking. Prices are rising everywhere, but I would have liked to see a bit more creativity. Breakfast was satisfying because we could enjoy the kama-age shirasu while it was still piping hot.

    A Moment with the Sound of the Waves

    A relaxing evening soaking in the Onsen, enjoying delicious bamboo shoot rice, and sipping a cup of cocoa in the lounge. The next morning, after an early Onsen bath, we filled up on shirasu rice, miso soup made with fish bone broth, and great rice. A cup of coffee in the lounge was a perfect break. Watching a few black kites glide overhead and listening to the waves, I found myself zoning out for a while and felt truly at peace. There are no photos, but I’d love to come back to see both the sunset and sunrise.

    After visiting Kimii...

    After visiting Kimiidera Temple, we headed to Waka-no-ura. The stunning views made it a wonderful trip. From our Room, Waka-no-ura Bay opened up before us, with views of the opposite shore and even as far as Shikoku. Early in the morning, we could also watch what were likely fishing boats moving about in groups. The meals and Facility were excellent, and above all, the staff were kind and attentive, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing stay. In the surrounding area, a metamorphic rock known as Kishū Aoishi was beautifully displayed and used for garden stones, steps, and stone walls. Perhaps it was just timing, but we hardly saw any tourists. I personally prefer it quiet, but I would like to see this area promoted more. I believe this beautiful stone from Waka-no-ura is also mentioned in the Man’yōshū. In addition to the Waka-no-ura area, we also visited central Wakayama City, Dōjōji Temple, and downtown Yuasa.

    This Ryokan with an Onsen is making a dedicated effort to improve.

    Perhaps due to the recent labor shortage, there were a few noticeable rough edges, but overall I could tell the team is making a real effort. In particular, the male staff member who assisted us at the front desk had a wonderful smile and was very pleasant. There were some issues such as communication not going smoothly, the rice served at the end of dinner being of a quality that made me wonder if it had been microwaved, and the Room cleaning being slightly insufficient, but considering the price I was fully satisfied. The meat and fish were very delicious, so I felt that with some improvement to the rice dishes, this would become an even better Accommodation.

    Two university stude...

    Two university students stayed here. The Room, the view from the Room, and the bath in the Room were all absolutely wonderful. We also had both breakfast and dinner, and since we love Japanese cuisine, everything was delicious.

    Relax in the Onsen

    Although it was said to be renovated, the Accommodation itself felt old, but I think it was kept clean. The welcome drink menu (such as plum wine) felt half-hearted; simple tea would be fine. Dinner was a small portion but delicious. Breakfast was also the right amount and tasty. As I’ve gotten older, buffet-style dining feels unsettled, so I could relax and take my time, but it would have been nicer to have meals with a view outside (especially breakfast). The Manpa Room is divided into many small sections, and the entrance area is unnecessarily large.

    Although the buildin...

    Although the building feels a bit dated, it has been beautifully renovated, and both the guest room and dining area were comfortable and welcoming. The meals were especially delicious—both dinner and breakfast—and we were very satisfied. The staff’s service and smiles were also wonderful. The only thing that concerned us was that the air conditioner’s outdoor unit was very loud.

    I was very satisfied.

    This was my first stay, and all the staff were very courteous. As a guest, I felt comfortable throughout, and I truly appreciated it. The Room was also clean, and it was a nice touch to be able to see the ocean from the window. However, there are only a limited number of power outlets, and you can see an abandoned Hotel from the window, so some guests may find that bothersome. As for the meals, everything was made with local ingredients and was very delicious. I was genuinely happy to be able to enjoy freshly boiled kama-age shirasu at breakfast. The Onsen is simple, but it suited my skin well and I enjoyed it. That said, some people may find the water temperature a bit hot. If I have the chance to visit around Wakayama again, I would like to stay here again. Thank you very much for having me.

    A Thank-You Gift Trip

    Excellent location. The meals were absolutely delicious. We were able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. The female staff were always smiling, and the service was great. We could relax in the open-air bath while looking out at the sea. What was disappointing: A male staff member did not explain things well enough, and we were not told about the lounge. It would be easier to understand if it said “Lounge” in front of the door, I think. There was no explanation about the welcome drink, so we asked another guest. The tone of voice when answering questions felt a bit harsh. An outstanding Accommodation. I definitely want to come again. Thank you very much.

    Wonderful Accommodation

    This was my first stay. The front desk team, Shuttle Service staff, and all employees were kind, and their smiles were wonderful. The Room was a little small, but it was more than enough for two people. The view from the window was beautiful, the Room was clean, and the bath area was also very clean. One thing that concerned me: I was surprised to see someone filming with a camera in the changing area. I would like cameras to be prohibited in the bath area. The meals were also very delicious. Even though it was a standard Plan, the Kumano beef was excellent. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Cuisine: It was the ...

    Cuisine: It was the Standard Plan, but both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and I was very satisfied. Guest room: I would have preferred an automatic door lock. The floor creaks, so I hope it can be repaired. Other than that, the bedding was good. Bath: It was difficult to adjust the water temperature in the in-room bath, but it was relaxing and enjoyable. The public bath and private bath also had an ocean view and felt wonderful. The sauna was unavailable; I would like it to be usable. Other: Breakfast started late, but even though we had not finished eating yet, drinks in the shared area (buffet?) were being cleared away. It would be better to clean up after everyone has finished.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day. I was able to relax and unwind. The property has been beautifully renovated overall, with thoughtful touches such as darts, photo spots, and self-serve coffee. The food was also delicious. I was so full that I couldn’t have seconds, which was a shame. Amenities were available at the front desk, but when I went to pick them up later in the evening they had already been put away, so it would have been nice to have a few items like cotton pads available in the bathroom.
