    A Wonderful Summer Vacation

    The Hotel we chose for our first trip to Ishigaki Island Everyone was surprised by how spacious the Room was—it’s a space that makes you think, “Is this what an ideal villa stay feels like?” Since our goal for this trip was simply to relax, choosing UBUFURU was absolutely the right decision. Because they don’t accommodate many guests, we were able to spend quiet, fulfilling time there. Breakfast didn’t have a huge number of items, but that actually let us savor each one carefully. Having a washing machine in the Room made it easy to do laundry at our own pace, and we realized it quietly adds a lot of comfort to the trip. If I had to mention an area for improvement: I would have liked the sauna temperature to be a bit higher. The cold plunge temperature and the outdoor relaxation setup were excellent, so improving this point would make guests even happier! Thank you as well for preparing a BBQ dinner on short notice on our second day. Being able to eat at our own pace with family while looking out at the ocean became a wonderful memory. As mentioned in other Reviews, be careful if you do it in the Room—smells will linger no matter what—so I recommend doing it on the balcony instead. All of the staff maintained just the right distance without being intrusive, while still responding properly whenever we needed something. Thank you very much!

    Relax and unwind....

    We stayed here again this year. We were able to relax and take it easy, which was wonderful. The Room is stylish, clean, and lovely—comfortable enough for a long-term stay. It’s great for families or for a trip as a couple. It’s a place that makes us want to come back again.

    Downgrade

    After arriving and completing check-in, we were told the air conditioner was broken. Even though we had reserved a second-floor Room, we were moved to the first floor because no other Rooms were available. We received only a ¥5,000 refund, and there was no advance notice. I chose a second-floor Room because I can’t handle insects, but I couldn’t sleep at all. Someone unlocked the gate to the private garden area for our Room, came in without permission, sat on a chair, and even looked into the Room. Our eyes met while I had just gotten out of the bath—I was shocked and froze. It also made me feel unsafe from a security standpoint. When I reported it to the front desk, they said, “No one is there right now.” Dinner shabu-shabu was mostly fatty meat with very few vegetables, and the rice arrived at the Room without even being wrapped. The bed cushioning was poor and worn out, and the Room felt very humid. I chose this Hotel based on Reviews, but I couldn’t understand even one reason why it is rated so highly. Whether it was the downgrade or an unknown person entering our space, staff only responded by following their manual; no manager or person in charge spoke to us at all. It felt like nothing more than a rental room that just happens to be spacious. There was also no greeting at the entrance when we arrived. I felt it was a waste of time and money. Maybe it’s fine if you think of it as a training camp facility—but if you go with high expectations before your stay, you’ll likely be disappointed. This was my first time experiencing such a Hotel. That said, one staff member who assisted us personally was kind.

    I visited with high expectations based on the strong reviews, but…

    I stayed for three nights on a Plan with breakfast included. The building feels a bit old, but it seems to be kept reasonably clean. There were also a few items missing, such as towels... What concerned me most during my stay was breakfast. You choose one plate from four menu options, and there is a small buffet selection such as salad and drinks. On the first day, more than 70% of the buffet items—including drinks—were not replenished for quite some time, and it seemed they would not be refilled unless we asked. I also think the pool could be cleaned more thoroughly.

    This is a Hotel I’d like to stay at again.

    We arrived a little early (before check-in), but we were able to wait in the lounge using our Diamond benefit credit. I was happy to find my favorite Blue Seal ice cream there. The Room was spacious and very relaxing. Having two sinks and a washing machine was really convenient. Breakfast was great—the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The breakfast staff greeted us with warm smiles, so we could enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. On the second day of our stay, the rainy season in Okinawa ended right on time, and the ocean view from the window was beautiful. In the evening, we took a short walk around the Hotel. The sea was very close, and the sunset was stunning. After dark, we also got to see a huge full moon—it made for an unforgettable trip to Ishigaki. The calm atmosphere of this Hotel suited us perfectly, and we were able to spend truly relaxing time here. We would love to stay again next year.

    It was wonderful!

    We’re aiming for a two-base lifestyle, and we chose this condominium because we wanted to experience what it would feel like to actually live here. Being able to park right in front of the Room was great, and having direct access from the garden to the pool was also a big plus. The Room was clean, spacious, and wonderful. The bathroom was large as well, and the walk-in closet was very roomy. We also liked the shelves that made it easy for my husband’s clothes and mine to be kept separately. There was a Panasonic drum-type washer/dryer, which made it convenient to wash swimsuits right away and dry them too. There were no seasonings in the Room, so when I asked about it, I was told they could be loaned out—and we borrowed some. We asked local people on Ishigaki Island for recommendations, bought items at a local supermarket and roadside station (michi-no-eki), did a little cooking in the Room, and enjoyed our meal there at a relaxed pace. That was another great point. Because you can enter the Room directly without going through the front desk, it was nice not having to worry even when wearing swimwear. We chose a Plan that allowed us to enjoy drinks and snacks between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. There were many options—Blue Seal ice cream, snacks with drinks, draft beer, awamori (Okinawan spirit), coffee, and more—so we really enjoyed it. It was a bit disappointing that the hours were short, but it seemed this area becomes the dinner venue later on, so that’s understandable. My husband and I talked about how we’d love to stay longer. If we visit Ishigaki Island again, we’d definitely like to stay here again.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    The Room and pool were wonderful, and the in-Room meal was delicious, so we were able to relax. However, when we entered the Hotel, even though two female staff members were at the counter, they did not look at us or greet us, and they would not assist with check-in until we spoke up. This Hotel allows you to drive directly to the parking space in front of your Room, so you don’t need help unloading luggage like at a Hotel with doormen. I expected to be welcomed with a smile, so this was disappointing from the start. A few days before our stay, we received an email asking us to choose our dinner menu. It said, “If there is anything you would like to let us know in advance regarding your stay—such as an anniversary, birthday, or family trip—please feel free to tell us.” Since it mentioned that, I told them it was an anniversary trip, but there was no message card or acknowledgment at all—it felt like it was just a survey. During lounge time there were no staff present; there weren’t enough beer glasses; the sparkling wine ran out and wasn’t refilled. Since it’s self-service I tried to tidy up, but used glasses and plates were piled up with nowhere even to put them. Overall we were satisfied—if you can enjoy being left alone it may be comfortable in its own way—but it’s still a bit of a mysterious Hotel.

    While the location, property, and hospitality are all excellent, there were a few slightly disappointing points.

    First, regarding the location: it sits between the downtown area with the airport and ferry terminal, and it is right by the coast, so the ocean view is excellent. The Room was also as advertised—spacious at 130 m², with a balcony and a very functional bathroom—making it truly elegant and comfortable to relax in. Thank you very much. The service also felt sincere and genuine, including from the international staff, which left a good impression. (I only wished the housekeeping staff greeted guests a bit more.) I chose the American breakfast and it was delicious. Since I expected more of a condo-style stay, I planned from the start to go out for lunch and dinner; downtown isn’t far by car, so I had dinner Reservations outside. One disappointment was that while in-room amenities list coffee and hibiscus tea, there was only one coffee packet and one tea bag—and no additional tea bags—which felt stingy considering how nice the Room is. By coincidence, at Haimurubushi where I stayed the previous night, only tea bags were listed but they provided four drip coffee packs as well, so I supplemented with what I brought from Tokyo. Also, there was no shoe-shine cloth like even a Business Hotel typically provides. So while the Room itself deserves full marks, I deducted points for amenities. Cold drinks can be bought at a convenience store to bring back easily, but hot drinks are not as simple. As for Facilities/amenities: I chose access with lounge privileges, but the opening hours are short. Perhaps because of that as well, some guests were taking food and beer back to their Rooms (when I asked staff they said takeout is not allowed). It would be appreciated if either lounge hours could be extended or warm soft drinks in the Rooms could be improved. I ended with some criticism as well; however, I assume there are still areas being refined through trial and error. I look forward to further improvements. Thank you very much.

    It exceeded my expectations!

    The building itself felt a bit old, but the room was very clean and luxuriously appointed. We stayed for two nights, but wished we could have stayed for about a week. We also really appreciated the complimentary jasmine tea and the 2-liter bottles of mineral water. If possible, it would be helpful to have two or three extra towels available for drying hands after washing up in the kitchen.

    A resort-style Hotel with a relaxing atmosphere.

    It was a wonderful Hotel that felt like being overseas. The Room, which was larger than our home, was very comfortable and we lacked for nothing. All the items we had requested in advance were properly prepared, and it was an experience unlike any Hotel we have stayed at before—having an entryway, being able to park right in front of the Room, and accessing the pool directly from the terrace. When a typhoon approaching caused our rental car to be canceled and left us with nowhere to go, we arrived 1.5 hours early; we truly appreciated that you opened the lounge early for us and prepared our Room ahead of time. One disappointing point was that breakfast had the same selection every day, so it would have been nice if items like soup or bread changed daily (since we stayed three nights). Also, partway through our stay a group checked in, and even though it was a weekday there were suddenly many children around and it became quite lively; I would have liked to use the pool and lounge more quietly, so that was a bit disappointing. When it was time to leave, I felt sad to go, and next time I would love to return with my daughter and grandchildren. To all the staff members, thank you very much for taking such great care of us over these four days.

    If possible, I’d love to stay forever.

    Last year we stayed for 5 nights and it was wonderful, so this time we chose 9 nights to relax even more. This time we were able to use the lounge and enjoyed a variety of drinks and snacks every evening; the Hotel’s homemade pineapple cake was especially delicious. Each time we passed the front desk on our way to the lounge, the staff greeted us with bright smiles, which made us feel at ease. Since our Plan did not include meals, we enjoyed island seasonal ingredients (pineapple, passion fruit, tuna, Ishigaki beef, bread, jam) for breakfast and dinner using the in-Room kitchen. It was also very helpful that the Hotel provided seasonings. We were impressed by how well everything was taken care of—daily replenished bottled water and sanpin tea in the refrigerator, plus coral-roasted coffee. The bathroom was spacious, with a large bathtub and even a TV, so it was very relaxing and helped us unwind after each day. However, please be careful as the tiles become very slippery when wet. We felt last year’s amenities were better. As this was a long stay, the drum-type washing machine was useful every day. One of our favorite points is that the parking area is right by the entrance and covered, so the car does not heat up inside. There were also three dehumidifiers available, and with such a spacious Room we stayed comfortably throughout our visit. Thank you for arranging a scale before check-out so we could confirm our checked baggage weight for our flight. We would love to stay again for an extended period next time.

    "Ishigaki Residential Resort"

    The condominium-style Room is over 100 m², luxurious, and makes you want to stay longer. Despite the open layout, the security system was excellent. After the rebranding, it feels even more like a condominium. Next time, I’d like to stay longer so I can relax in the Room.

    Ishigaki Island Trip

    Thank you for the complimentary Room upgrade. The Room was so spacious that even though two of us stayed, we ended up spending most of our time apart except at meals (lol). The view was also great. There was a lounge with a good selection of drinks beyond just beer, which I appreciated. Being able to park near the Room is also a big plus. We were able to relax and recover from our fatigue. Thank you for taking care of us.

    We had a wonderful time!

    My first trip to Ishigaki Island as a senior man traveling solo! Even when I had trouble with the rental car on the first day, everything was handled smoothly with a smile. I was happy with both tea time and breakfast! I was especially satisfied with the Room! If I had to mention one thing, I was disappointed with the seasonings provided!

    The Room was spaciou...

    The Room was spacious, and we had a comfortable stay. The lounge and breakfast were both excellent, and we were very satisfied. The staff’s hospitality was also outstanding. We also enjoyed the in-room dinner at a relaxed pace, and it was delicious, but having meat-based dishes for two days in a row felt a bit heavy. We look forward to new menu options. Overall, everything was wonderful.

    It was amazing!

    The four of us stayed for two nights in a 2LDK Room. The Room was very spacious, highly functional, and thoroughly cleaned. We ate out for all meals except breakfast on the second day, but the kitchen had everything we seemed to need, including plates and knives. The refrigerator was stocked with tea, water, and ice. Towels, sleepwear, and amenities were all provided—everything we needed was available. We booked a Plan with lounge access, and we were extremely satisfied with the lounge drinks, snacks, and desserts. On the morning of the second day, our plans changed and we requested breakfast at short notice; they kindly accommodated us and it was excellent! Because the price was so reasonable, we were a little worried there might be a gap between the photos and reality—but those concerns proved unfounded, and it turned into a very satisfying trip. All staff members were friendly and incredibly helpful. If we ever visit Ishigaki Island again, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you very much.

    Perfect for enjoying mangrove kayaking, but…

    For your honeymoon

    Thank you for taking care of us for one night and two days. It was my first time on Ishigaki Island, and since it was near the end of my trip, I chose this Hotel after hearing that all the Rooms are spacious and clean. Just as I had researched in advance, the view was beautiful, and the Room was large—I was very satisfied! I also appreciated the celebratory message. The only downside was that perhaps because of the celebration, you upgraded our Room, but it did not have an ocean view. Since I had made a Reservation for an ocean-view Room, I was a little disappointed. However, when I mentioned this later, you promptly prepared another Room of the same grade. I was truly impressed by your excellent service and efficiency. If I have the chance in the future, I would love to stay again! Thank you very much.

    Spacious and Luxurious

    The Room was incredibly spacious, and the Facility was refined—making it a truly special stay that felt like visiting a celebrity’s home. The kitchen is also very well equipped, and it’s the kind of space that makes you think, “It would be amazing to enjoy a Multiple Night Stay here and live as if at home.” In fact, there is also a front-loading washer-dryer (detergent provided), so it felt well suited for longer stays. There aren’t many restaurants nearby, but with a car you can quickly reach the city area, so we didn’t feel inconvenienced. We also used the outdoor pool, and they offer rentals of swim rings and life jackets, which made it great for families with children to enjoy safely.

    Wonderful

    It was a wonderful Hotel, just as I had imagined. The lounge, where you can enjoy beer and various alcoholic drinks as well as ice cream and snacks, was always kept clean and was excellent. I didn’t know they had recently added a sauna and cold plunge bath next to the pool, so that was a lucky surprise. The pool also has a jacuzzi—an endless loop of pool, sauna, cold plunge bath, and jacuzzi. The Room had an impressive kitchen, and we enjoyed cooking with local island ingredients. If you’re staying on Ishigaki Island, this is the only Facility I’d recommend. Please improve just one thing: the shower water temperature in the Room was too low.

    This was my favorite Accommodation I’ve stayed at recently.

    The Room is unbelievably spacious! It’s also very clean and charming. The pool is well maintained—refreshingly cool, pleasant, and spotless. We had lunch, and the portions were generous and absolutely delicious! The salad, soup, and drinks were also incredibly good. For dinner we had shabu-shabu and yakiniku; both the vegetables and meat were delicious, and there was so much food… We were completely satisfied. The exterior and outdoor stairs are lovely, and the interior design is wonderful too. Whenever I come to Ishigaki Island, I definitely want to stay here. The staff were also kind, welcoming, easy to talk to, and attentive in every detail. I love traveling and beautiful Hotels, but this was my favorite Accommodation of all—because of the staff’s character as well as the Room, meals, and on-site pool. This is an Accommodation I would highly recommend when visiting Okinawa with friends or family.

    Birthday Trip

    We stayed here for a birthday trip for both me (26) and my girlfriend. They kindly helped arrange a surprise flower gift, and the service was excellent, making our stay very comfortable.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    My parents and our family of five stayed here together. First of all, the Room was very spacious, with plenty of space to relax, so everyone could spend time comfortably in their own way. There were two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two toilets. There were also five TVs, including one in the bathroom. Because there was no partition between the main bedroom and the vanity area with a toilet, bathroom, and washing machine, light and noise from bathing or doing laundry at night go directly into the bedroom—so it may be best to be mindful of the time. We stayed in early April on a cloudy day, and my daughter said the pool felt a bit cold; once she got into the jacuzzi, she couldn’t go back to the pool. As for small details: I found the coffee instructions confusing. Since it said “Coral Coffee,” I assumed it was coffee and poured hot water into it—but my teacup turned bright red, which surprised me. The taste and aroma weren’t like coffee either; after checking more carefully, it seemed that hibiscus tea was placed in front and coffee behind it. Also, we were able to use the microwave function via the oven settings. The furniture, fittings, and Facility were wonderful. We enjoyed walking around inside and looking out at the ocean—it was a very comfortable stay. We also appreciated being able to use both the kitchen and washing machine. Overall, both the building itself and on-site maintenance were excellent, allowing us to relax in comfort. The sunset view from our Room was especially beautiful. This time we stayed for one night before our flight home, but if we have another chance we would love to come back for a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    Spacious and easy to use, with a wonderful resort feel—I was truly impressed. It felt like a condominium in Maui or on the Big Island of Hawaii. If I had to mention one thing, the window screens were old and had some holes, so it would be nice if they could be replaced. You can also access the sea from the terrace, but the beach had small pieces of wood and some debris washed up (probably because it was after rain). Without that, it would feel like a private beach—perfect, though I know that’s asking a lot. We could park right in front as well, which was very convenient. It’s a Hotel I’d love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

    The owner was having a meeting at the restaurant.

    I used the restaurant three times, and each time staff were having loud discussions with vendors about the Hotel’s Facilities and events. They were so loud that I could hear them even from across the spacious restaurant. It ruined what should have been a relaxing view of the beautiful pool. I mentioned it to staff all three times, but no specific action was taken. Also, I chose the same Room category for my second stay because my first Room had well-maintained landscaping and was in great condition, but the second one was completely different and disappointing. At night there was noise, so I asked to change Rooms. The new Room had a hole in the window screen, and the terrace table was dirty.

    Very good.

    I visit Ishigaki Island three or four times a year. I stay at various Hotels, but this time was especially great. Eating out every day can be tiring, so having a kitchen where I could cook for myself was really nice. I went to a nearby supermarket, bought local island vegetables, and enjoyed cooking with them. From next time on, this will probably be my only choice!

    Enjoy a relaxing stay

    I decided to stay here based on Reviews and photos. It is located midway between the airport and downtown, so access was very convenient. The Hotel staff were polite, and there were no unnecessary services, so I could relax without feeling pressured. The Room is very spacious and feels open. It comes with a kitchen and a full set of cooking utensils, so you can cook for yourself. I was able to prepare and eat vegetables and fruit bought at the market. I visit Okinawa often, and there are many local foods you can only enjoy there, which is something I always look forward to. The bathroom was also large and clean, so I could soak and unwind. One minor downside was that my balcony view made it hard to see the ocean, and unfortunately my stay coincided with a period of construction starting in the morning. Other than that, I was very satisfied and truly enjoyed my stay.

    The Room is good.

    What I liked The Room was spacious and well equipped, with a refrigerator, washing machine, and kitchen. The bath had a reheating function; it wasn’t an Onsen, but it was very convenient and helped me relax. The shower water pressure was also good. You can park right in front of the Room, which made loading and unloading easy. What I didn’t like I made a Reservation with dinner included. Dinner was only available as an in-room BBQ Plan: after check-in, the ingredients were in the refrigerator, and a hot plate and tableware were provided. That means grilling yakiniku yourself at the dining table with no ventilation fan. You just grill the meat and vegetables, but the smell fills the Room and doesn’t go away even if you air it out. Also, cooked rice had been placed in an ohitsu container and stored in the refrigerator. It didn’t feel like something planned by culinary professionals—putting freshly cooked rice into a refrigerator should never be done. The meat tasted good, though. It would be fine if dinner were served at a restaurant or delivered to the Room as prepared dishes, but this is yakiniku only. And since this Hotel is far from town—surrounded by jungle—it’s not somewhere you can easily go out for meals. There are no convenience stores nearby. Even though it’s a Resort Hotel stay where you want to relax while looking at the ocean, it was disappointing that you can’t enjoy full-service dining at the Hotel. What I’d like improved Lounge access is only until 18:00. Because there is a lounge, I didn’t bring much alcohol—but since it closes at 18:00, you can’t enjoy drinks with dinner. I assumed we could relax in the lounge after dinner as well, so this was surprising. There are far too few towels in the Room: only one bath towel and one face towel per person. For an upscale Hotel, two of each wouldn’t be unusual—and there isn’t even a hand towel. There’s also no towel hanger in the bathroom area, so there’s nothing to dry your hands with after washing them (and nowhere to hang towels). There are no bathrobes either. There are no power outlets by the bed side(s). You can’t charge your phone or tablet while sleeping. How to stay comfortably here? I’d like more towels provided—but realistically you need to bring your own towels or it will be difficult. As mentioned above regarding meals: because BBQ makes your Room smell strongly of grilled meat all night long (and it won’t clear), your options are either going out to eat in town (far away), tolerating eating BBQ inside despite the smell lingering everywhere afterward—or buying prepared foods/ingredients at a supermarket instead… but on a resort trip you want to take it easy. To stay comfortably here, stock up on plenty of food and drinks at Kanehide before you go. One important note: You cannot see the ocean from first-floor Rooms.

    It was very comfortable!

    The Room was spacious, and although it was on the first floor, the view was great. It was very comfortable with two toilets, two bathrooms, two refrigerators, and two sinks. Water, sanpin tea, and ice were provided in the refrigerator and replenished daily when we ran low, which was excellent. All of the staff (both Japanese and non-Japanese) were very pleasant as well. One thing: I would really like to see improvements to the lounge, as its hours are short (only until 6:00 PM) and the food menu is limited. If it stayed open until around 8:00 PM and offered some hot food, I think satisfaction would be even higher. I will definitely stay again!
