    Rooms with a private Onsen are the best!

    This time, I found a great Plan on the Koyu website and made a Reservation right away. It was my first time staying in a Room with an Onsen, and being able to soak whenever I wanted while looking out at the ocean was amazing! The location is excellent—Shirarahama Beach is just a short walk away. (The way back is uphill, though...) We enjoyed both the beach and the pool.

    About the bathroom, etc.

    Because many guests come for swimming in the sea, there was a lot of sand in the changing room and it felt gritty underfoot. It spoiled what would otherwise have been a great bath, so I would like to see more frequent cleaning. Also, the overall operation felt somewhat half-hearted for a Marriott; I would prefer you raise prices if needed to attract a better clientele.

    The lobby was unbear...

    The lobby was unbearably hot. Actually, the taxi and even the airport were so hot that I was sweating nonstop—it was uncomfortable enough that I wouldn’t want to visit in summer. Is there some kind of energy-saving policy in the city? Taxis also didn’t come easily, and whenever we had to wait—especially in the lobby—it was just extremely hot. Even standing around felt exhausting. At the very least, I wanted the Hotel to be a place where we could relax. The private family bath was also far too hot—like a sauna. There was no way we could stay for 50 minutes; we left after about 15. We used the breakfast buffet. It was generally tasty, but the selection was limited. I wish there had been more seafood options. Paying about 10,000 yen for two felt a bit much for what it offered. The breads like croissants weren’t good either, which was disappointing.

    The view is amazing.

    The Room was spacious, and the views of the ocean and Shirarahama Beach were wonderful. My companion especially liked the large public bath. One concern was that there were a few stink bugs in the private bath the next morning, which was unsettling. Because it is on a hill with great scenery, the uphill walk back after dinner felt a bit tough—especially after having some drinks.

    The view was great.

    A typhoon was approaching and the weather looked rainy, but it didn’t rain much, and we were able to see a wonderful sunset from the restaurant. The view from the large public bath was also amazing. The meals, made with ingredients from Wakayama, were all delicious. It was disappointing that we couldn’t watch Netflix or Amazon Prime in the room (the internet didn’t seem to connect) and that the shuttle bus service has been discontinued, but everything else was great. I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    I was looking for an...

    I was looking for an Accommodation with Onsen and an ocean view for a solo trip, and what caught my attention was that you can see the sea from the in-Room Onsen, so I decided to stay. The weather was a bit uncertain, but the location was excellent, and the large public bath was wonderful as well. I didn’t add dinner, but when I ordered champagne and a hamburger steak, only the champagne arrived first. The chief noticed and kindly brought some snacks, which really impressed me. So I ended up ordering red wine afterward. Everything was great overall, but one small disappointment: I mentioned in my IKYU comments that I chose this Accommodation for my birthday, but there was no acknowledgment. Since birthdays come only once a year—and even on flights you sometimes receive a congratulatory card—I may have expected something similar based on other Hotels I’ve stayed at.

    The Room was spaciou...

    The Room was spacious—almost too large for one person—and the view from the window was wonderful. There was a slight musty smell, possibly from the plumbing or humidity, but since the sea is nearby, it was within an acceptable range. What disappointed me was having to give up using the open-air bath due to a large outbreak of stink bugs. I understand it’s difficult for the Hotel as it’s nature-related, but I hope some measures can be taken in the future. Other than that, there were no issues and I had a comfortable stay.

    A Warm Stay

    The entrance lobby was impressively spacious and filled with a lovely fragrance, which made us excited from the start. We were also happy to find champagne prepared in our Room. Perhaps due to limited staffing, we were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the large public bath changing area, the worn towels, and the amenities. On the other hand, we took the limited amenities as a positive sign of environmental consideration. The private family bath was very spacious, which was especially appreciated for traveling with a baby. The female spa therapist also had wonderfully strong hands, and our family members who used it said they felt truly relaxed. The restaurant staff were very polite and kind at both dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed dinner at a wonderful table with a view of the sunset, taking our time over a delicious meal. The Onsen in our Room was free-flowing, clean, and at just the right temperature—it felt great. The constant sound of running water was soothing. It had been a while since we last visited, so we enjoyed Shirarahama’s beautiful white beach again, as well as the limited-time Sky Bus, Energy Land, and Safari World. Thank you very much.

    The views are great, and I’m satisfied with the high-quality Onsen. The meals aren’t very good, so I eat at nearby restaurants. However, the Hotel itself is good. The service is also good.

    Our first family trip since our son was born.

    Our whole family was truly very satisfied with our stay. Thank you for preparing everything in the Room for our young child, including the safety gate. We would love to stay again and will make another Reservation. The private family bath and the meals were both delicious, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much. We will be back, and we look forward to seeing you again then.

    Satisfied!

    Because our Room had a private Onsen, I soaked in it many times and my skin felt so smooth—it was incredibly relaxing. Of course, I also used the large public bath, but it was a luxury to enjoy the Onsen anytime while staying in the Room. The Room was spacious and comfortable. I really liked that the bathroom and toilet were separate, and since the toilet was located beyond the vanity area, I could use it without worrying about noise. The body soap and other amenities also had a natural scent—great. A clean Room with a refined feel in every detail. The only thing that bothered me was the smell of the yukata; around the chest area it smelled like shrimp, and although I tried it on once, I wanted to take it off right away. It was neatly folded and seemed freshly laundered, but still... Other than that, everything was perfect. Breakfast was also excellent—every item on the menu was delicious. As expected from Marriott! This is a Hotel I’d love to visit again!

    A one-of-a-kind Onsen Accommodation

    I have stayed here several times, and each visit leaves me impressed by the depth of hospitality at this Accommodation. What I find especially wonderful is that the staff treat children as equal guests, with genuine respect. They don’t see them merely as accompanying adults; they meet them at eye level and speak to them thoughtfully. As a parent, nothing makes me happier. The hot spring water is excellent, of course, but it’s truly the outstanding character and professionalism of the staff that keeps us coming back to this Accommodation. Thank you again for a perfect holiday. We will definitely return.

    Looking forward to enjoying the Onsen

    I stayed at the accommodation during the same period as last year. The onsen in the room was very relaxing, and dinner was served buffet-style, with a corner featuring Kishu specialties that were delicious. There were also non-caffeinated drinks available, which allowed me to enjoy my time leisurely. However, it was disappointing that the grout on the tiles at eye level in the bathroom of the room's bath area was quite blackened and unpleasant. I was happy to see THANN shampoo products in the large public bath.

    Fully Charged!

    I have stayed here several times, and it’s always relaxing and rejuvenating. The scenery is beautiful, and the food is delicious. The staff are kind and greeted me with warm smiles. On a windy day during check-in, they helped with my luggage, which was very helpful. Although the panda is no longer there, the scenery and Onsen remain as wonderful as ever. I’ll be back again to relax!

    The location, the view from the Onsen in the room, the dinner course, and the breakfast buffet were all very satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing birthday celebration. This was my second visit this year. I definitely want to come again next year!

    Relax and unwind.

    I have visited several times and it is always relaxing. The food, made with local ingredients and creatively using oranges, was very delicious. Breakfast offered a variety of options and was consistently tasty. The Room was clean, and I appreciate the hard work of the cleaning staff. I would love to stay here again.

    This was my third st...

    This was my third stay. I decided on it thanks to the great deals from IKYU.com. The entire accommodation, including the room, was thoroughly cleaned and very comfortable to stay in. As always, the view of the sunset over the sea and sunrise from the large Onsen on the 11th floor was incredibly soothing. However, I found breakfast a bit disappointing. While I appreciated being able to order freshly made omelets at my table and enjoy warm croissants, it felt like there were very few dishes prepared by a chef. Additionally, the text on the bath amenities was too small and difficult to read.

    The air vent in the ...

    The air vent in the Room was extremely dirty, which made me feel uneasy. I considered asking for cleaning, but I was worried it might spread more dust, so I endured it. The Room had an Onsen, but as someone mentioned, having a shower with hot water would have made it even more comfortable. The view from the window was spectacular. The breakfast buffet was delightful with delicious omelets and freshly baked croissants.

    It exceeded expectations.

    On the first day, I completed the Reservation for the fireworks terrace. The free drinks and impressive fireworks made it a great experience. On the night of the third day, we chose Japanese cuisine, which was incredibly delicious and exceeded our expectations. We were also very satisfied with the recommended Nagisa Beer.

    Family Summer Trip to Shirahama

    We had a wonderful trip. Thank you very much. The pool, family bath, and Shirahama beach brought countless smiles to our children—definitely a 5-star experience. Highly recommended as an accommodation choice. Here are the reasons for giving 4 stars: For dinner, we would have liked natto and crispy seaweed to be included in the menu. It would have been great if there was a water dispenser or similar facility in the family bath area. Having water bottles or pet drinks readily available would enhance satisfaction as well. Our child mentioned feeling hot during the stay. The staff's language and demeanor were truly elegant and impressive. From entering to leaving the entrance, we completely lost track of time. We look forward to staying again in the future! Thank you very much!

    We visited for a beach trip. The location was excellent, the Room was clean, and the meals were delicious. Above all, what impressed us the most was the staff.     Kept waiting

    Check-in took too long and was exhausting. The front desk staff were not Japanese and were extremely slow. It would be nice to have some improvements, such as providing seating while waiting or using a numbered ticket system to avoid standing in line. I like this Hotel after several stays, but the check-in process needs improvement.

    Every summer vacation, we stay at this accommodation as a family. No matter how many times we visit, we always want to come back next year. The signature Marriott fragrance upon entering the hotel is wonderful, and this year I even purchased the fragrance. The presence of many international guests adds to the extraordinary experience. The hotel's service, facilities, pool, proximity to the beach, resort atmosphere, luxury feel, and the view from the large public bath are all exceptional. The room is impeccably cleaned and feels very hygienic. While the dinner buffet was not child-friendly and we opted for Hotel Seymour's buffet instead for dinner, the breakfast buffet was delightful—the omelets were delicious and I loved being able to take café au lait back to my room. This year there were many guests from China whose manners left something to be desired; it was disappointing given how much I enjoy coming here in good spirits. Although the view from the large public bath is stunning every year, I find that during summer months especially, the water temperature is too hot—it would be greatly appreciated if it could be slightly lowered during this season as it's difficult to enter with sunburned feet after a day at sea. Other guests have mentioned feeling similarly. Despite these two points of concern, this remains an outstanding hotel that makes me want to return again and again. My favorite spot is undoubtedly on the top floor where you can enjoy breathtaking views from the large public bath—especially early in the morning when Shirarahama Beach looks absolutely stunning from there. Hoping I'll get another chance to visit next year!

    What is that smell...?

    The moment I entered the Room, there was an unpleasant smell, almost like sweat. Was it from the previous guest? I'm not sure, but it was uncomfortable. For a moment, I considered asking to change Rooms. I tried using the mint spray provided in the Room, but it didn’t help. It’s unfortunate because the view and overall atmosphere of the Room were lovely. As for the toilet, there was a sewage-like odor as soon as I stepped in. If there's any way to improve this issue, please consider doing so. The Plan included a welcome drink that could be enjoyed on either the first or third floor. After taking a bath, we went to get it at the restaurant entrance on the third floor only to be told that it's limited to those dining there and that we should collect it at the lounge on the first floor instead... This was not explained during check-in and left us feeling disappointed. Perhaps due to understaffing or an oversight in communication? During check-in, guests who arrived after us were attended to first... We ended up waiting quite a while despite having children with us and carrying lots of luggage—it felt especially exhausting. The bath and breakfast were excellent; however, these issues made our stay disappointing overall. Every time we returned to our Room, we couldn’t help but notice that smell again—perhaps requesting a different Room would have been better after all? It’s hard to say if this issue was specific only to our Room or not—but these points stood out during our stay.

    The Room was clean and pleasant, but I chose a type with an Onsen in the guest Room, and it was very inconvenient as there was no shower or washing area in the private Onsen. Additionally, when I used the restaurant for dinner, perhaps due to many overseas staff, there were no explanations about the dishes, and rice was placed on top of the menu, which made the service less satisfactory. That said, it was nice that it’s close to tourist spots like Adventure World and Senjojiki, and I could use a private Onsen thanks to IKYU member benefits.

    Conveniently located...

    Conveniently located near the airport, Adventure World, and within walking distance to Shirarahama Beach. We chose a room with an Onsen, but the Onsen area was filled with humidity and odor, requiring ventilation by opening the windows for a while before use. Unfortunately, despite having a sea-facing room, the view was obstructed by frosted glass. It would have been more enjoyable if there were regular seating like a sofa and table facing the sea for better views and relaxation. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and the open-air bath was very pleasant. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options.
