    A Hotel I’d love to stay at again. Next time, a Multiple Night Stay.

    It was a wonderful experience. Thank you to all the Hotel staff. I was worried about the weather, but we were able to enjoy stargazing as planned. You also adjusted the dinner time, so we could relax and fully enjoy everything at a leisurely pace—truly Aman quality. The Japanese-inspired meals were, of course, delicious. The excellent coffee is proof of your attention to detail. Above all, the hospitality of every staff member supported and elevated our stay. I stopped by the thermal springs around checkout time, but the sidewalk had become so hot in the sun that it was impossible to walk on. It’s better to go after late afternoon. Next time, I’ll enjoy a Multiple Night Stay. Personally, I love Hawaii, and having a beer alone on the balcony at dawn is pure bliss—but coffee while looking out over Ago Bay from my Room at Amanemu surpassed even that. I will be back.

    The Best Memories

    At the end of July, I stayed in a 2-Bedroom Mori Villa with my parents and two children, and our whole family was extremely satisfied. We have stayed at many luxury Hotels before, but even my mother—who rarely gives high ratings—said, “It was the most comfortable Hotel I’ve ever stayed at.” The private in-room Onsen was especially wonderful. In terms of size, use of space, comfort, and design, it felt truly distinct from traditional Onsen Ryokan. All of the staff were warm and kind, and their service was genuinely pleasant. The atmosphere throughout the Hotel was also excellent, and during our stay we repeatedly felt glad we had chosen this place. This is a truly outstanding Hotel that we would love to stay at again. It became an unforgettable memory for our family.

    A tranquil, extraordinary retreat

    I stayed at Amanemu, which I’d been curious about for a long time, as my Accommodation for an Ise pilgrimage. The hospitality started right from the Shuttle Service from Kashikojima Station, and it immediately got me excited. The Facility was just as wonderful as I’d imagined. For dinner, I had a set course in the dining room featuring local ingredients such as spiny lobster and Matsusaka beef—it was so delicious that I lost track of time and ended up staying longer than planned. On the second day, I enjoyed the thermal springs and the pool that I’d been looking forward to. Both offered different scenery and truly felt like heaven! Maybe it was just luck, but both were almost completely private. The pool butler was also very pleasant, and after I got out of the pool they took me by cart straight to the thermal springs. The only downside was that on the way back, one female staff member drove the cart a bit roughly, which made me nervous—so that’s why I’m deducting one star. Even so, it was an outstanding Hotel in terms of both Facility and hospitality. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    We stayed here for a...

    We stayed here for a very special occasion—my proposal. From the moment we arrived, we felt transported from everyday life: the view of Ago Bay from our Room, the tranquility that enveloped the entire property, and the soothing Onsen made our stay truly unforgettable. We had consulted with you in advance about a few things, and every staff member supported us with great care from preparation through the day itself. We are sincerely grateful for each thoughtful touch—the Room decorations and flowers, the message plate at dinner, help with taking photos, and even arranging delivery of the flowers after our stay. There were moments when our planning fell short and we made last-minute requests, but you still supported us warmly, allowing us to spend this important time with complete peace of mind. Thanks to you, I was able to propose successfully, creating a memory we will cherish for a lifetime. The Accommodation itself is wonderful, but what truly made this stay so special was your team’s attentive hospitality. We would love to return again for an anniversary or another celebration. Thank you very much.

    A cat!

    From the Shuttle Service at Kashikojima onward, the hospitality was wonderful. The Room has a high ceiling, and the semi-open-air bath was great—you can properly feel the outside breeze. Welcome sweets were served at the bar building, but I’d like to see improvement here: they won’t bring them unless you ask. Their Basque cheesecake was incredibly delicious, so it would have been a shame to miss it. We were able to use the thermal spring right after arriving while it was still bright out—perfect timing. It would be even more fun if there were activities using the thermal facilities. The carts for getting around the property came quickly, with no stress. For dinner we chose lighter options: a burger and pasta. The local beer “Ika Chuchu” had an interesting flavor. In the morning, I was moved by being able to enjoy Ago Bay shrouded in morning mist from my private balcony. Breakfast: The Japanese set had an excellent presentation. I enjoyed three kinds of grilled fish in small portions, and the texture of akoya shellfish was delightful. For Western breakfast we ordered à la carte—the nuts in the açaí were a great touch. I ordered Eggs Benedict with ham and initially thought, “Huh? That’s simple,” but it was truly delicious. And what made me happiest of all was that a kitten came to visit our Room. It seems two family groups of cats live on-site—wonderful presentation as well.

    An impeccable stay experience

    At Aman Group properties, I always enjoy a truly wonderful, completely stress-free experience. This time as well, from the Shuttle Service from Kashikojima Station to being dropped off back at Kashikojima Station at the end of my stay, everything was exceptional—the thermal springs (the highlight of this Facility), two meals, and the lounge. Thank you sincerely for your warm hospitality.\n\nI was a little disappointed that I couldn’t fully enjoy walking around within the property as I can at other places, perhaps because the grounds are so expansive—but it can’t be helped.\n\nAs I stopped by alone on this occasion while on a business trip, I hope to return next time with my family. I look forward to staying with you again.

    Not punctual

    Check-in was 40 minutes late with no prior notice, and we were kept waiting. Disappointing, especially since the property claims to offer top-tier service. The building and Facility are first-class; if the service had been as well, it would have been perfect.

    Experience relaxation in another world

    You can forget everyday life and truly relax in peace and quiet. The Room was comfortable, the Onsen was wonderfully warming, and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meals. The welcome fruit and rice crackers were also very tasty. The starry sky was amazing, but I think it’s better to visit in a warmer season.

    Keep striving to reach a world-class level.

    I was deeply impressed by the architecture that embodies Aman’s worldview, and by the refined aesthetic sensibility expressed throughout. As a Japanese guest, I also felt proud to see Japanese timber, architecture, and culture so highly regarded internationally in this way. On the other hand, there were a few service-related points of concern. Although it was the busy year-end and New Year period, multiple vehicles were kept waiting at the gate for over 15 minutes—something I have never experienced despite visiting luxury hotels around the world. I was also somewhat disappointed that there was no particular guidance about the Facility or any explanation regarding Diamond member benefits. As for dining, dinner did not feel commensurate with the price point. Having stayed at an excellent Japanese French restaurant Hotel the previous night, I felt a noticeable gap between expectations and reality. Breakfast, however, offered a wide variety of options and was very satisfying. Regarding facilities, I felt that if all villa Onsen baths were continuously flowing (kakenagashi), it would make them even more appealing. The shared Onsen and sauna in the spa area were outstanding, and while the gym is not large, it was well equipped. I hope my next stay will be even more comfortable and enjoyable.

    It brings a sense of calm.

    This was our first stay. Upon informing the staff that it was for our wedding anniversary, they kindly provided towel art and a half-bottle of champagne in the room. Regarding the 5,000 yen hotel credit for Diamond Members, there was no explanation at check-in, so we had to confirm it ourselves later. Soft drinks in the room's refrigerator were complimentary (alcoholic beverages were charged), and two types of rice crackers were provided and replenished during turndown service. Since the bathroom, washroom, and closet are integrated into one room, steam from filling the onsen can spread throughout and may cause concern about humidity affecting clothes in the closet. The bar lounge offers complimentary soft drinks and sweets only during afternoon tea time. If you ask a staff member, they will guide you by cart to "Sunset Beach" or "East Observation Deck," so be sure to make a reservation. In December, stable weather allows you to enjoy beautiful sunsets. At dinner in the restaurant, both Matsusaka beef sirloin steak and seafood rice were exquisite. For breakfast, we recommend the Japanese set meal; we also ordered an omelet, mentaiko (spicy cod roe), and large natto beans à la carte at no extra charge. Staying in a Mori Suite close to the restaurant allowed us to walk back under a star-filled night sky—a truly thrilling experience! A flashlight included as an amenity is essential for walking at night. All staff members responded promptly with smiles, making our stay very pleasant. The shop is limited to some items near the spa salon; therefore, on your way back from "East Observation Deck," stop by another shop within their sister property Nem Hotel—purchases can be charged directly to your room. Among luxury hotels surrounded by nature with serene ambiance facilities like this one provide peace of mind. We rarely encountered other guests except occasionally at places like bar lounges or restaurants—it felt very private overall! December is particularly quiet here; highly recommended! One visit isn’t enough—you’ll need multiple stays just fully appreciate everything this place has offer!

    The Best Hotel

    The room, amenities, meals, and service were all excellent. When I informed them in advance that we would be staying for our wedding anniversary, they kindly offered a cake suggestion and even provided complimentary drinks. The hotel staff's hospitality was truly outstanding. They addressed me by name instead of "guest," and even the garden maintenance staff bowed to us as we passed by. Indeed, the price is high, but the experience exceeded expectations. I would love to stay again next year.

    If possible, a Multiple Night Stay is recommended. This is the perfect place to feel the slow passage of time while reading a book. The veranda after a bath is pure bliss. I had an amazing time here.

    The World of Amanemu

    I was deeply impressed by how Aman created such a unique atmosphere in Ise-Shima. It is quite expensive, but considering it’s the Aman brand, it’s understandable. Other Amans around the world are even more expensive. If there’s one complaint, it would be that the carts for transportation take quite a while to arrive even when called. The meals were fairly ordinary. Compared to the hotel where last year’s G7 Summit was held, their meal quality and staff hospitality were far superior. The service provided by the male staff member at the pool was exceptional. As expected from architect Kerry Hill, he has crafted an extraordinary world overlooking Ago Bay.

    Comfortable Stay

    The hospitality of the staff was truly impressive. They seemed to have overheard our conversation and arranged something we hadn't even requested, which was an experience we've never had before. What's more, they provided this service free of charge, even though it seemed like it would typically come with a fee. The Room was so comfortable that we ended up staying until the very last moment before check-out. This is definitely a Hotel we would love to visit again.

    The deep disappointment felt at the special accommodation each year

    Every year, I have treated myself to this accommodation on my birthday, and each time I left feeling so satisfied that I thought, "I want to keep coming here for life." Although I'm not wealthy enough to visit frequently, this special and beloved place has been a source of motivation in my daily life. However, this time was a deeply disappointing stay. The surprise balloon decoration that my boyfriend had arranged in advance was completely overlooked. At check-in, the staff responded with an unprofessional "What?" which left me shocked and disheartened. They made no effort to understand the situation or apologize; instead, their attitude caused discomfort. While the manager later offered a sincere apology and handled the matter professionally, overall the staff's demeanor lacked warmth and smiles compared to before. Many interactions felt expressionless and mechanical rather than hospitable—something I used to associate with this accommodation. Additionally, the cleaning of our room's private bath was inadequate. Dinner served in our room arrived cold; particularly disappointing was the turban shell dish which had an unpleasant odor. Most upsetting of all was breakfast—the quality had significantly declined from what it used to be. Previously it left me so impressed that I'd go for seconds multiple times; however, this time I couldn't even finish one serving as both side dishes and rice were subpar enough for me to leave them untouched. The drastic change in taste shocked me so much that I wondered if there had been changes in management or chefs. Furthermore, another pre-arranged surprise—a bouquet—was forgotten entirely until we double-checked at checkout only for another dismissive "What?" response from staff members who seemed either inexperienced or poorly trained compared with previous visits' high standards of service quality. After checking out though we appreciated gestures like waiving cake fees along with complimentary access invitations toward private Onsen facilities—it felt bittersweet because what mattered most wasn’t monetary compensation but receiving expected services aligned fairly against paid costs upfront without needing such compensations afterward altogether! Of course immense gratitude goes towards responsible female managers alongside those preparing beautiful decorations/cakes yearly champagne letters consistently delivered heartfeltly too! Shuttle Service drivers’ warm hospitality embodied quintessential experiences reminiscent fondly cherished memories associated uniquely tied exclusively unto here alone previously unmatched elsewhere alike ever since first visiting long ago initially altogether! However ultimately given total expenses exceeding ¥200k+ per night expectations naturally higher unmet unfortunately leaving behind feelings loss emptiness returning home reflecting upon everything happened during recent trip overall experience fell short drastically compared prior occasions enjoyed thoroughly immensely always looked forward eagerly beforehand previously anticipated excitedly awaiting next opportunity revisit someday hopefully better improved future ahead eventually someday again perhaps?

    Excellent service

    I visited for a birthday trip. From the moment I arrived at Kashikojima Station, I experienced Aman-level service. Despite being in the middle of the Obon holiday, most guests were elegant families and international visitors. Although occupancy was high, it was a calm and relaxing Hotel stay. It was stress-free and comfortable. I look forward to visiting again on a sunny day.

    Looking for inspiration?

    We stayed in a villa for three nights as a family. Upon checking in, we found that two rice crackers in the room had bite marks, which made us uncomfortable and wonder if they hadn't been replaced after the previous guests. Dinner featured luxurious ingredients, but the Matsusaka beef sirloin steak was overly fatty. Other dishes were presented plainly without leaving much impression, and the dessert was not particularly delicious and could use improvement. The handmade cakes, local mochi, and iced coffee served at the lounge in the afternoon were delicious. The hairdryer in the room was a Repronizer, which was impressive. Renting an Alx 20-inch small-wheel bicycle made getting around convenient, and the BMW shuttle service from Kashikojima Station provided a comfortable ride. The staff's service was good overall; however, when we requested an extra key upon being shown to our room, it never arrived during our stay. Additionally, there was some misunderstanding regarding allergy accommodations that caused concern. Considering its distance from Tokyo and high price point, I believe both meals and services should be more impressive to match expectations beyond just facilities or amenities alone.

    This might be the only place for me.

    Our family can no longer be satisfied with an Ise trip unless we stay at Amanemu. Three months ago, we stayed at a promising accommodation, but it didn’t meet our expectations, so we found ourselves back in Ise again. Last time, we stayed in a villa. This time, we chose a different room. As expected, the size was noticeably smaller compared to the villa and felt cramped, so next time we plan to stay in a villa again. The views, meals, and staff—there are few accommodations as comfortable as this one. We were thrilled to spot tiny wild boar piglets while riding on the transport cart! Thank you all for your hospitality!

    A Dreamland for Adults

    As rumored, it was truly wonderful. Being situated in untouched nature, insects are inevitable. However, their understanding of guests' needs and desires, along with their smart responses, surpassed many other luxury hotels. What stood out the most was that there were no "NOs" or "We can't accommodate that." Their genuine care for the happiness of their guests was clearly evident. With this level of hospitality, I felt the price was justified. Additionally, the gentleman in charge at the poolside was absolutely amazing! He excelled at ensuring that guests using the pool had an enjoyable and comfortable experience. His kind smile and warm demeanor are unforgettable. Everyone here was truly kind-hearted. I had seen Amanemu on YouTube and read travel reviews to get an idea of what it would be like, but staying there revealed so many aspects of its charm that I hadn't known before. I wrote this review hoping those who read it will visit Amanemu and feel as happy as I did during my stay. Leaving Kashikojima felt like Cinderella's magic disappearing at midnight—it left me longing to return again someday!

    60th Birthday Trip

    I visited with my daughters and their spouses to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. It was my second time, but the first time staying in a villa. The Room was incredibly spacious and beautiful, and even with two families staying together, we didn’t notice any noise at all—it was excellent. We also had our grandchild with us, but there were no issues as the Hotel staff were very kind and accommodating, even towards children. This Plan was fantastic, so I would definitely consider it again next time.

    It was such a memorable and wonderful stay that I decided to write a review. This time, we visited the long-awaited Amanemu to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The facility, room, and meals were all very satisfying, and we especially loved the spa and the room's ambiance. For anniversaries, we always request amenities at various hotels, but the specially arranged cake and sparkling wine were exceptionally delicious and left us deeply impressed. We were moved by the beautiful space and time provided as well as by the outstanding service from the staff. The welcoming arrangements, having staff present in every area we visited, and their anticipatory service truly stood out. Despite it being our first visit, they addressed us by name wherever we went without us introducing ourselves each time. They even acknowledged our wedding anniversary celebration—this attention to detail amazed us! As someone who also works in customer service myself, I was deeply inspired. For the first time during a hotel stay, I felt like bringing my parents along next time. This is truly a highly recommended facility for spending special moments with loved ones. Right after checking out, my husband and I started discussing with my parents whether to visit again for another anniversary or during a different season—we’re already looking forward to returning! Thank you again for such an incredible experience; we look forward to visiting again soon!

    Nightmare Birthday Trip, Anniversary Ruined Hotel

    It was a nightmare stay. My wife's birthday trip was ruined. Overall, the quality of staff and hospitality was extremely poor. The person in charge showed no sincerity. We had planned a Multiple Night Stay but cut it short to one night due to extreme discomfort and moved to another Hotel. Although they promised a refund for the second night, it wasn't processed for over two weeks until we contacted them again, at which point they responded immediately—it seemed like they had forgotten. - The most unpleasant and worst experience was when someone entered our Room without prior notice during our absence, touched our personal belongings (including underwear) and valuables left out, opened our suitcase, and cleaned the Room without permission while we were having breakfast. Items such as underwear, pajamas, and other valuables were moved without consent during cleaning—placed haphazardly on less-than-clean areas like bedside tables or sofas. Even sanitized baby bottles left out were vacuumed around carelessly. Entering the Room unannounced with all luggage spread out, moving personal items without permission while vacuuming—this shows zero sense of hygiene or respect for privacy. It wasn’t turndown service but an intrusive cleaning practice that is unacceptable. When brought up with the general manager, their response was that this is part of their service philosophy called "Magic Something," where they act before being asked by guests; apparently no other complaints have been received according to them. There was no sincere apology offered. For those planning a Multiple Night Stay: be aware that regardless of your preference for cleaning services or not, staff may enter your Room at their convenience to clean and handle personal belongings. - My wife’s birthday cake was supposed to be served in halves during dinner and breakfast but wasn’t served at breakfast due to being forgotten—we paid in full nonetheless. - We were forced to arrange an alternative Accommodation last minute with no assistance from staff—searching for Accommodation past noon on the same day felt like hell. - Due to sudden checkout preparations caused by these issues, we couldn’t enjoy lunch or lounge access included in our Plan (we still paid full price as per Plan). - Dinner on the previous day involved long waiting times despite mediocre quality. - Inclusive drink menus weren’t provided at lounges; only paid options were available. - Staff behavior across various instances reflected low standards: failing basic greetings within premises; using phones with hands in pockets near guests; hurriedly putting out cigarettes upon noticing us; walking away from breakfast service claiming lack of Japanese language skills without calling replacements—all unacceptable conduct levels among employees here!
