    The food was very de...

    The food was very delicious. The private bath was also beautifully maintained, and we were able to enjoy the 40 minutes comfortably. Overall we were satisfied and there were many good points, but there were also moments that made us feel uneasy. We aimed for a 3:00 p.m. check-in and walked from the bus stop to the Hotel. Right after getting off, we saw the Hotel sign, but there was a small uphill slope. On the way up to the entrance, a female staff member ran over to help us. That was very helpful and made us happy. In the lobby before 3:00 p.m., there were already four groups checking in. After we finished the welcome drink and explanations, a staff member said, “I will show you to your Room,” but then walked far ahead pulling our suitcase, waited at a distance while watching us from afar—something I had never experienced before in terms of lack of consideration. Then, as soon as the staff member unlocked our Room door, there were two people inside. They made direct eye contact with me but did nothing. The staff member showed no sign of urgency and simply said, “Oh, it’s still being cleaned,” closed the door again, and took us back by elevator to the check-in area. Then they brought another welcome drink. There were many situations like this—when we just wanted to relax quickly but ended up having to go through things twice—and once we started being guided somewhere, it often happened that we were told “Ah! This way,” and sent back again. It became exhausting. It is truly disappointing because the food was excellent, there were many wonderful art pieces throughout the Hotel, and the free-flowing Onsen is great—yet so much felt unfortunate. The service left us feeling uncomfortable throughout; we couldn’t relax at all. Having people inside our Room made me feel sickened as well. There was no explanation—only repeated apologies. This was my first time ever having an experience like this. Since this stay was an event my husband (who had temporarily returned from America) and I had been looking forward to so much, both of us decided to move on and accept it as “It can happen—we just had bad luck.”

    Hakone’s best. Wonderful again on our second stay.

    We arrived by car, and even in the heat we were greeted before we even reached the entrance. Sometimes you’re welcomed after arriving at the entrance, or staff are stationed at the entrance to greet you—but this time they were already waiting out front. Isn’t that almost too wonderful? The welcome drink was delicious as well. This time we chose a lower grade and stayed in the Residence building. Getting from the Main building to the Residence requires walking a short distance outside, so it might be a concern on rainy days. There are also a few stairs, but staff will carry your luggage, so it shouldn’t be an issue. There is a private Onsen along the way, so for those who plan to use it, staying in the Residence may actually be more convenient. The Room was spacious enough. Our pre-requested baby cot, diaper bin, baby bath, etc., were already set up in the Room, so families with babies can stay with peace of mind. The indoor bath is an Onsen with free-flowing natural spring water in the Room. The temperature was perfect—absolutely wonderful. The BVLGARI amenities were also great. Breakfast was delicious, and the portions were just right—more than enough. As for the cuisine overall, I think the chef’s skill is outstanding. At dinner service most guests dress neatly, so for men it’s better to wear something with a collar to match the atmosphere. On our first stay last time we didn’t know what to expect and dressed too casually—lesson learned. Shorts and a T-shirt would probably still be fine; this is simply about maintaining the overall ambiance. The outer-side seating likely has better views, but if you have children I recommend sitting on the lobby side—you don’t have to worry as much about others there, which really helps. If your baby starts crying hard nonstop (as babies do), you can simply step out. I’m very interested in dinner as well, but with a baby we couldn’t use it considering the atmosphere—hopefully someday. The evening ambiance is wonderful. Service is excellent as expected—from checkout through seeing us off was superb—and I honestly wonder if there is any Accommodation that surpasses this one. Given today’s times I imagine staff training must be challenging everywhere, but this Accommodation’s hospitality stands out as truly exceptional. Thank you to all staff members and chefs alike. Thank you again for another wonderful stay.

    Reliable comfort

    With more newly opened Hotels in Hakone, we have stayed at several, but after visiting Hiramatsu again for the first time in a while, we truly rediscovered how comfortable it is. My mother and I enjoyed a relaxing, unhurried stay, and we were very satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the meals. We will definitely return. Thank you again for everything.

    Finally, back to where you belong.

    “Luxury is sweetest when it arrives at exactly the right moment.” Room 1101. Someday, this will become my favorite place to come home to. And what makes this place truly irreplaceable is the hospitality of the staff. Thoughtful care in every gesture, Facilities maintained down to the smallest detail, an unforgettable breakfast, and above all, quiet moments of indulgence in a private open-air bath with sweeping views of beautiful nature. All of these come together to make Hiramatsu Sengokuhara a place I truly want to return to.

    Back from New York

    I stayed here as an IKYU Diamond member. After returning from New York, I drove to Hakone myself and chose this Accommodation hoping to spend my limited time off in Japan at a relaxed pace. I will refrain from naming her, but the female staff member who assisted me showed thoughtful attention and flexible consideration, for which I am truly grateful. I will also refrain from naming him, but the male staff member who handled the payment was calm throughout, and his wording was consistently courteous and refined. He left me with a pleasant afterglow that was a perfect way to conclude my stay. In Sengokuhara, I have often stayed at other Accommodations in the past, but after spending time here this visit, I felt that the gentle atmosphere created by all of your staff is also part of what makes this Accommodation so special. I would love to return in another season. Thank you very much.

    Wonderful! We warmly invite you to stay with us!

    From the phone service and warm welcome, to the spacious flat parking lot, welcome drink, Room size, cleanliness, smooth layout, tasteful Gabbeh rugs, BVLGARI amenities, Onsen, breakfast, and even the send-off—everything about this Accommodation was wonderful. We were provided with a baby bath, baby bed (crib), and diaper bin, and the washing area was spacious as well, so we were able to stay very comfortably. The guests having dinner also seemed lovely. Since it is free-flowing natural hot spring water direct from the source (kakenagashi), the water is very hot and you can’t just jump right in—you need to dilute it with cold water—but sometimes the drainage makes a loud gurgling sound, so if you bathe late at night it might disturb someone sleeping in the same Room. The only thing that could make it perfect would be upgrading the hair dryer to something like a Repronizer 7D. I had been interested for years but hadn’t been able to visit until now—this was my first stay. I think it’s one of the best Accommodations I’ve seen in recent years. I’ve stayed at various Hakone Onsen places in the 80,000–150,000 yen range, and this may be number one. I’m seriously considering coming back again. Thank you very much!

    This is a relaxing accommodation with attentive service.

    The staff were kind and attentive, and the service was excellent. The food was as delicious as its reputation, and I especially liked breakfast, where each dish was served one by one so I could enjoy it at a relaxed pace. The amenities and the items in the refrigerator were well stocked, and in particular, the Onsen at this Accommodation warmed me up more than any other place I stayed on this trip—I felt pleasantly warm even after getting out. If I may mention just one thing, the duvet seemed to have a slight masculine odor. It may have just been my imagination. In any case, thank you very much for taking care of us.

    Cuisine that won’t disappoint

    I wanted to enjoy both the Onsen and the food, and this stay was exactly what I hoped for. I visit Karuizawa every year, but I was also completely satisfied with Hakone. The in-Room free-flowing hot spring is great, and it’s also nice that there is a private bath. The private bath is reserved at check-in by choosing an available time slot, so I recommend checking in early. The meals I had been looking forward to were all outstanding. I usually eat a lot, but I was completely full. I had no complaints about the staff either, so I’d love to come back again. Thank you very much!

    Everything is perfect.

    This was my fifth stay. It’s natural to start noticing little things after visiting several times, but the excitement I felt on my first visit remains—and in fact, my satisfaction has only grown with each stay. The perfect balance of attentiveness and respectful distance, along with truly thoughtful hospitality. They see you off with a “Thank you,” but honestly, I’m the one who wants to say thank you.     Perfect view of Mt. Fuji

    This was my first visit of the year. From early Sunday morning, we had clear skies and were able to enjoy views of Mt. Fuji all morning. The new chef’s dishes were fresh and very satisfying. I was especially touched by your thoughtful attention to detail—thank you so much. I’ll be back again in autumn. While taking a walk this time, I noticed that development in Sengokuhara is moving at a rapid pace—please don’t let it outpace you! I’m cheering for you.

    Excellent!

    It’s always amazing whenever I visit! If I had to mention one thing, the extra bed wasn’t very comfortable. Also, the dark-colored bathroom walls in the Room felt a bit depressing. The best part was the hospitality—7/10!

    I found a wonderful Accommodation.

    I visit Hakone two or three times a year, but this was my first time staying at HIRAMATSU. I had wanted to visit for a long time, but it always felt a bit intimidating, so I never quite made it. In the end, that concern proved completely unfounded, and it turned into a wonderful stay. I was satisfied with everything—the staff’s perfectly balanced attentiveness, the clean Room and indoor bath, the breathtaking open-air bath, and the cuisine, with every dish outstanding in both presentation and flavor. Also, at check-in we were each handed the dinner menu and the next morning’s breakfast menu, and they carefully confirmed ingredients item by item while kindly accommodating some changes. That was a first for me, and it truly reminded me why HIRAMATSU is so highly regarded. Just one small point: at breakfast there was no breakfast menu on the table, so I couldn’t remember what had been explained at check-in and didn’t know the names of the dishes—something I found disappointing. We were blessed with great weather on both days, and seeing Mt. Fuji from our Room added an extra touch to an already lovely stay. Thank you for helping me discover an Accommodation that makes me want to return. My preconceived image of HIRAMATSU has also changed—in a good way—and I would love to visit other HIRAMATSU properties as well (including in Hakone). I look forward to staying with you again when that time comes.

    Thank you for your help.

    We had a hard time deciding which type of Room to choose when making our Reservation. The 4th floor of the Residence building doesn’t have a semi-open-air bath, but the Room is spacious and seemed to offer great views, so we booked it—and it was excellent. Not only the Room, but everywhere was very clean. Every staff member who assisted us was wonderful, and we are truly grateful for how quickly and kindly they helped us with an unexpected issue. Thank you for taking such good care of us. Based on YouTube videos and Reviews, we expected the meals might be a bit small, but even for someone like me who doesn’t eat lightly, the portions were more than enough. The food was delicious, and we were completely satisfied with everything. If I had one wish, it would be to have free drinks in the lounge so we could relax even more. This stay made us want to visit other HIRAMATSU properties as well.

    A Wonderful Vacation

    I stayed for one night and two days with a friend. As we walked up the hill, they came to greet us and guided us straight to the entrance. They were always waiting for us and showed us around smoothly—truly outstanding hospitality. The meals were even more delicious than we expected. I would love to visit again.

    We chose this place ...

    We chose this place for its delicious meals. Usually, we enjoy Onsen and then have dinner in our lounge wear, so we were a bit nervous about the formal dinner. However, thanks to the excellent service from the staff, we had a wonderful time. Some dishes felt slightly salty, but overall they were very tasty. For those with a sweet tooth, having two desserts was a delightful treat. The private bath was fantastic. The key is placed on your room's doorknob at your reserved time, allowing you to head to the bath smoothly without encountering anyone else. The room was clean and well-maintained with great amenities. It would be nice if there were a lounge where guests could relax with drinks. That said, since we stayed in the most affordable room option, it’s understandable that both windows faced the staff parking lot—though it was slightly disappointing.

    This was my fourth stay. I am always greeted with thoughtful hospitality and warm smiles, which fills me with excitement. The cuisine features wonderfully crafted menus, and my daughter was especially impressed by the white truffle. I had some ingredients I’m not fond of replaced, and I deeply appreciated it while thoroughly enjoying the meal. Thank you so much. The private open-air bath offered a serene atmosphere where I could relax to the sound of rustling bamboo and flowing water. It was delightful to have both room-temperature and cold water prepared for us. This is an exceptional accommodation that allows you to savor its charm even after returning home.

    First Stay in Hakone Accommodation

    Last year, I visited Hakone Owakudani for sightseeing, but this was my first time staying in accommodation in Hakone. The room at Hiramatsu was a bit compact, but the amenities like drinks were well-prepared, and the best part was the incredible comfort of the bath. It was so relaxing that I took a bath four times during this stay. Having an onsen in the room is truly amazing. In the morning, I could see the peak of Mt. Fuji from my room. The view of Mt. Fuji's summit above the autumn-colored maple tree in front of my room was breathtakingly beautiful and left me deeply impressed. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity!

    We visited as a group of four, including my elderly father with mobility issues, my sister, and my husband. From our arrival to the final farewell, the staff provided exceptionally attentive service. They arranged our dining area near the entrance so that my father wouldn’t have to walk far and shared many stories about Hakone. The aroma of the rare white truffle they recommended was incredible, making it a memorable experience for our family. From our Room on the 3rd floor, we enjoyed breathtaking views of Mount Fuji alongside autumn foliage from the bath. There are too many wonderful aspects to list here, but this Hotel offers hospitality that I hope everyone can experience. Thank you so much for everything. We look forward to visiting again with everyone!

    We had a luxurious time.

    The room, bath, and amenities were all excellent, allowing us to enjoy a luxurious stay. We only had breakfast, which was wonderful, and now regret not including dinner. However, this gives us a reason to return, and we look forward to enjoying dinner next time. Having an Onsen in the room available anytime was fantastic, but we also recommend trying the semi-open-air private bath! The amenities were incredibly well-stocked with items like hand cream, face masks, and BVLGARI products—truly exceptional. The chocolates given as a souvenir upon departure were a delightful touch of hospitality.

    This is my second stay at this accommodation. Once again, the meals were incredibly delicious and left a lasting impression. The non-alcoholic pairing was thoughtfully selected to complement the dishes, which was truly remarkable. The room service meals were also so delicious that I ended up ordering two more dishes even after dinner. The dining space is arranged to separate families from couples or pairs, allowing for a calm and relaxed dining experience. It’s a thoughtful gesture as sharing the same space with children can sometimes ruin the atmosphere of a special dinner. The room was spacious, and above all, the bathtub was large and seamlessly integrated into the room, making it very accessible. Even in accommodations within this price range, it’s rare to find such a spacious bathtub (comfortable for two people), which is excellent. Despite having a bathtub in the room, there were no issues with humidity thanks to superb air conditioning management. Additionally, underfloor heating ensures that wet areas dry quickly. The private bath was also very spacious and equipped with facilities like dual showers that allow two people to relax comfortably. The refrigerator in the room was well-stocked with luxurious items like Alain Milliat juices—such an impressive free drink selection is hard to come by. Moreover, thanks to the outstanding hospitality and wonderful service of all staff members, I had an incredibly relaxing stay. However, as I plan on returning again in the future, there are some points I hope can be improved: - The shower in our room felt inconvenient due to either low water pressure or poor showerhead performance; replacing it with something like ReFa would make it much better. - While Bulgari amenities add luxury appeal, not having pump-style shampoo or body soap in the shower area feels inconvenient—at least providing basic body soap would be appreciated. - Having pump-style hand soap at the sink area would also be helpful. - Breakfast portions seemed quite small; they might not satisfy male guests adequately. - There seemed to be an issue with our door lock—it wouldn’t open from outside at times despite multiple attempts; perhaps it needs inspection. Despite these points mentioned above for improvement overall satisfaction remains high—I had such peaceful moments during my stay here! Thank you very much!

    Everything is perfect.

    Stayed with two children and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, even when my son felt unwell during meals. Their kindness was truly touching. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were delicious, and the staff remained patient even when the kids got fussy. Their warmth left a lasting impression. The room was clean, the Onsen was fantastic, and the amenities were excellent. While not inexpensive, considering the service, meals, and amenities provided, it felt like great value for money. I genuinely look forward to staying here again in the future. Absolutely outstanding!

    We stayed for one ni...

    We stayed for one night to celebrate my husband's birthday. The meals were seasonal and delicious, with just the right portion size for me, as I can't eat large amounts anymore. All the staff demonstrated excellent hospitality and carried themselves with grace—it was truly impressive. Although it was a short stay due to work commitments, I hope to visit again and take my time next time.

    Meals may be slightly rich for elderly guests. The fitness center hours are now from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, so it is no longer available before breakfast or after dinner, which is unfortunate.

    This was my second visit. The meals were consistently delicious and visually stunning, and I was delighted by the unexpected birthday celebration. Although I usually prefer Japanese-style breakfasts, the Western breakfast here is exceptionally tasty, with a perfect balance of quality, quantity, and flavor—something I always look forward to. I also appreciated that the staff remembered my previous stay. Thanks to the IKYU Diamond benefits, I was able to enjoy a wonderful space at leisure and indulge in delicious treats—truly grateful for this experience. I look forward to visiting again.     The reviews were generally good, so it was a bit disappointing. However, as long as the onsen is good, that's what matters. The water temperature is adjusted with cold water—does this come from tap water or cooled onsen water? The meals were disappointing. Both the meat and fish dishes had very small portions, barely more than a bite. Living in Tokyo, I’ve tried many new Italian lunch spots, but as mentioned in other reviews, the food here was underwhelming. The stewed dish at breakfast felt like basic home cooking. Are desserts supposed to fill you up? Sweets should complement a fulfilling meal. The room's interior and the art pieces in the hall also fell short of expectations. Has management changed?
