    We visited as a couple and had a very comfortable stay. Upon arrival, the seamless coordination with the staff from Sakura Tower heightened our expectations. Although late check-out was unavailable due to the Obon season, we were guided to a room with an amazing view and enjoyed breakfast leisurely in the Room. The allergy accommodations for my wife were perfect, and the hospitality throughout our stay was exceptional. Above all, being able to relax in the lounge away from the hustle and bustle during this season was truly wonderful. While we gave up on lounge hopping at GP due to long waiting times (laughs), enjoying both Sakura Tower and Hanakohro lounges was more than satisfying. At check-out, we received thoughtful assistance from the staff as well. My wife loved it so much that we're now planning to visit again with our family next time!

    It was an enjoyable summer vacation.

    I spent my summer vacation with my son in Tokyo for four days, and we stayed at Accommodation Hanakouro on the last day. It was an excellent choice. As I felt during our previous stay, although the building is old, it is well-maintained and has a calm atmosphere. The room was clean and allowed us to relax comfortably. The cocktail time dishes were beautifully presented in small portions, which paired perfectly with drinks. My son especially enjoyed the matcha latte (alcoholic) that was prepared for him. The staff at Hanakouro were always attentive and conveyed their hospitality warmly. For breakfast, we tried the restaurant buffet for the first time. While there weren’t many options, everything was delicious. The staff promptly cleared empty plates and replenished dishes to ensure nothing ran out, working efficiently to create a pleasant dining experience. I would love to visit again!

    A reliable accommodation.

    This year, we once again celebrated my birthday here with our family of four. Additionally, this time we also celebrated my daughter's engagement, making it an even more special occasion. We enjoyed plenty of wine as always—your selection is truly exceptional. Even after trying red and white wines at three other lounges, the taste here felt distinctly superior by at least two levels. The Chita whisky was also delightful, and by the end of the evening, I was completely satisfied. Yet somehow, I still managed to enjoy your castella cake and bonbon chocolates—it’s amazing! As always, our entire family left completely satisfied. On top of that, during turndown service, you thoughtfully placed bookmarks in my wife’s and daughter’s books—a small but incredibly meaningful gesture for book lovers like us that elevated our experience even further. We look forward to this annual tradition every year; however, we've decided to make it a biannual treat starting next year! Thank you in advance for your continued hospitality—we can’t wait to return!

    Luxury Ryokan in the Heart of the City

    Four lounges are available, offering a wonderful place to nourish both your body and soul. The Japanese breakfast served in the Room at Hanakouro was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.     Enjoy an extraordinary experience with peace of mind.

    Living in Tokyo, I started enjoying hotel stays within the city during the COVID-19 pandemic when overseas travel was difficult. Over time, I have stayed at almost all of the luxury hotels in Tokyo. When my favorite hotels became more defined, I came across Hanakohro a few years ago. This unique Ryokan-style accommodation quietly and beautifully nestled within a hotel is rare in Tokyo. The exceptional hospitality of the staff, serene rooms, and delightful breakfasts served in-room have made me return multiple times. Since developing food allergies, I have been deeply impressed by Hanakohro's perfect response and efforts to accommodate my needs every time. My evaluation of favorite accommodations has significantly changed based on their allergy-friendly services since then. Among domestic stays so far, this place stands out as offering the best allergy-conscious yet delicious meals. During our stay in March, they even prepared an allergy-friendly birthday cake with creative effort from their pastry chefs—a moment that brought me immense joy and remains unforgettable. As always during this stay as well, thanks to all the staff members' care and attention, we were able to relax completely and were thoroughly satisfied with everything. For us as a couple, Hanakohro is a precious sanctuary where we can safely enjoy an extraordinary experience filled with comfort and relaxation.

    We stayed as a group...

    We stayed as a group of six, including children aged 6, 14, and 16. The kids were thrilled with their first experience feeding koi fish. They also enjoyed grinding matcha and having anmitsu. Since it was summer vacation, the lounge seemed crowded and had a 45-minute time limit. Although we had made a reservation, we barely missed our slot and couldn't use it, which was disappointing. For breakfast, instead of the Japanese set meal, we dined at the Patio restaurant where the view was lovely. The children especially enjoyed plenty of melon and French fries. The staff there were all very kind and accommodating!

    The best accommodation in Tokyo

    The reviews were great, so I had high expectations, but my experience exceeded them. The location, price, room facilities, and service were all excellent, making it a perfect stay. In particular, the staff who guided me to my room and those who assisted me in the lounge upon arrival provided exceptional service. Thank you for the gift as well. Perhaps because I was staying alone, my room was upgraded, and I didn’t step outside the hotel at all. Listening to cicadas while soaking in the bath and grinding matcha myself were truly unique experiences. The only disappointment was during check-in when small children (possibly early elementary school or kindergarten age) were running around in the lounge. At checkout, I saw an older brother stuffing his pockets with snacks as they left. It momentarily disrupted the elegant atmosphere. However, this is more of a guest etiquette issue rather than a fault of the accommodation itself—their mother also seemed to take a large amount of snacks without addressing her children's behavior. That said, I have no complaints about the hotel itself at all. My stay coincided with an event celebrating Tsukurokuya night (26th night), allowing me to enjoy their beautiful garden as well. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

    Thank you for your patronage.

    I visited with my father. Due to the extreme heat that day, we went straight from the station to the Hotel and arrived about an hour early, but we were kindly allowed to rest in the lounge until our Room was ready. Thank you for changing our Room to one with a garden view. The staff at both Hanakohro and Takanawa were always warm and welcoming, allowing me to spend quality time with my father. Next time, I plan to visit in August with my son. I look forward to talking again with the staff at Hanakohro then. Thank you in advance!

    Experience the charm of a luxury Ryokan in Tokyo!

    Thank you for always being considerate of my elderly mother. Thanks to the staff, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. Despite being in the city, the atmosphere of a luxurious Ryokan can be felt here, and I am always impressed by the seasonal attention to detail in the Japanese sweets at Sakura Sai.     Ryokan-style Hotel Hanakohro, located within Hotel Takanawa, welcomes guests with a traditional Japanese atmosphere from the entrance, offering matcha and Japanese sweets as a welcome treat. We stayed in the Kinmokusei Deluxe Suite, a spacious Japanese-style room that comfortably accommodated our family of four. Guests staying at Hanakohro can enjoy lounge hopping across four lounges, including Hanakohro's own lounge and those in adjacent hotels. We visited all four during tea time and cocktail time. To reach each lounge, we walked through the beautifully maintained hotel garden illuminated by bamboo lanterns at night—a truly stunning sight. Each lounge offered a unique experience with different themes such as Japanese, Western, or Chinese styles. We also enjoyed the large jacuzzi at Sakura Tower's bath area—it was very relaxing! After bathing, we could unwind with drinks or alcohol in the lounge until 9:30 PM. In the morning, we had delicious Japanese breakfast at one of the lounges. Following breakfast was an enjoyable experience grinding matcha using a stone mill and then pouring it over anmitsu for dessert—a delightful service! With check-out set at 12 PM, we had plenty of time to revisit the jacuzzi and relax in the sauna in the morning before leaving. The staff members were dressed in traditional attire and provided excellent hospitality for which we are very grateful. We look forward to visiting again with our family—thank you for your wonderful service!

    It was a very lovely accommodation.

    The hospitality from check-in to check-out was exceptional, with everyone providing service with a smile and great attention to detail, making for a very pleasant stay. The 2:00 PM late check-out as part of the IKYU Diamond benefits allowed for a relaxing experience. I had plans to watch a movie at the cinema attached to Shinagawa Prince Hotel around 2:30 PM, so it worked out perfectly. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and being able to enjoy it as Room service was also wonderful. If I may suggest, having a menu available in the lounge would make ordering easier. A hinoki wood bathtub would be amazing!

    Chronic illness...

    I recently stayed for work. I arrived the day before my job and had planned to go shopping or sightseeing, but my companion felt unwell due to a chronic condition and the heat, making it difficult to walk. We decided to head to the Hotel and asked if we could check into our Room earlier than scheduled, even though we knew it might not be possible. They kindly allowed us in as soon as the Room was ready. It was truly a lifesaver. Additionally, the in-room dining staff went above and beyond by preparing something that wasn’t on the menu—I can’t thank them enough. Since chronic conditions can be unpredictable, I am deeply grateful for everyone’s help during this stay. Despite any inconvenience caused, they responded with smiles and kindness—thank you so much! I successfully completed my work and made it back home safely. Thank you again!

    I had a wonderfully elegant stay after a long time.

    This is my fourth visit. The Club Lounge has changed to a shoe-free style, which adds a nice Japanese touch. I enjoyed the matcha anmitsu, where you can grind your own matcha. The lounge popping offered three different flavors to enjoy. From the Room, I could view the garden, and the nighttime illumination was beautiful. Thank you very much!

    The best hospitality at Hotel and Ryokan

    This was my first stay, and it offered the hospitality of a Ryokan while being a Hotel. Within Hanakohro, you can relax and move freely to the lounge in yukata and geta. The Sakura Lounge is exclusively for Hanakohro guests, giving it a special feel, and the Japanese food presentation was excellent. My husband enjoyed sake, while my daughter and I experienced hand-ground matcha during check-out, savoring matcha cream anmitsu—a delightful end to our stay. Surrounded by a beautiful garden are Grand Prince Takanawa, Grand Prince New Takanawa, and The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo Hotels. We enjoyed "lounge hopping," which allowed us access to all their lounges—each offering unique atmospheres and experiences. This stay was meant as a refreshing break from work. Thanks to the kind and attentive staff, it was truly comfortable. I look forward to visiting again with my family during autumn foliage or cherry blossom season as recommended—it’s something exciting to anticipate!     There were good points, but some concerns.

    This is our second stay, and I brought my mother along again. We enjoyed hopping this time as well. She mentioned that whoever came up with this idea is truly a genius. However, during this visit, while returning to the room at night and moving from the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa to the Hanakohro elevator hall, a delivery worker who seemed to be waiting followed us and entered the elevator at the same time. They looked at us as if to say, "Hurry up and scan your room card," which was unpleasant. It did not feel like a private space.

    It was a highly satisfying accommodation.

    The hospitality at this Hotel was truly exceptional, and I was deeply impressed by the heartfelt service provided by the staff in traditional Japanese attire from check-in to check-out. The Room's bed was very comfortable, allowing for a relaxing stay, and the lounge hopping experience between the adjacent Hotel's Club Lounge and Executive Lounge offered a variety of sweets and light meals that left me completely satisfied. In the evening, strolling through the beautifully lit Japanese garden was delightful.     I recently visited after a long time. Although I arrived a bit early, I was promptly guided from Grand Prince Takanawa to Hanakohro, and the staff at both accommodations provided exceptionally courteous service. Check-in was conducted in the club lounge, where I was welcomed with seasonal Japanese sweets and matcha tea, allowing for a relaxed check-in process. Not only the staff assisting me but everyone offered attentive and thoughtful service throughout my stay. The lounge is not particularly spacious, so conversations of other guests staying at the accommodation can be overheard to some extent. However, due to the limited number of rooms available, it never felt crowded during my stay. Seasonal Japanese sweets with different designs depending on the time of day and other light meals made to order were served, making for a comfortable experience. As for the room itself, both its size and amenities in the tatami room with sleeping facilities were more than sufficient. The garden strolls and lounge hopping added an enjoyable touch to this wonderful hotel experience. I would love to visit again soon! Thank you very much for such a delightful stay this time!

    Experience the ultimate Ryokan atmosphere in the heart of Tokyo!

    This is my elderly mother's favorite place, and we use it regularly as traveling far has become difficult for her. The extraordinary atmosphere, where you can feel like you're in a luxurious Ryokan while still being in Tokyo, is simply amazing. The Room amenities were thoughtfully prepared, allowing us to relax comfortably. I hope to visit again during a different season. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Everything about this stay was comfortable once again. During Golden Week, other lounges were crowded (with waiting lines), so we relaxed at the Hanakouji Lounge. The meals were delicious and satisfying. My wife mentioned that it would be lovely to wear the beautiful yukata provided and take a stroll in the garden. I had work in the morning, so I appreciated being able to use the Diamond Member benefit of late check-out during that time. The staff here are kind, and it’s always a place where we can truly unwind. We’ll visit again soon—thank you for your hospitality!

    Maybe my expectations were too high.

    I booked an accommodation for my parents and accompanied them for check-in and check-out at the hotel. However, it was unclear where to check in upon arrival. When we reached the hotel, I thought of asking at the Takanawa front desk on the first floor but had to wait a long time. Although there were four counters, all were occupied, and we waited 15 minutes before being attended to. The staff then informed us that check-in was on the fourth floor at Hanakohro reception—this information wasn’t clearly indicated anywhere. After getting out of a taxi at the entrance, there was no doorman or clear signage guiding us inside. If there were signs, they weren’t noticeable enough. Check-in should have been possible from 3 PM, but we had to wait another 10 minutes in the first-floor lobby as they prepared everything—leaving my parents exhausted from traveling all morning waiting in discomfort. Check-out was also inconvenient; keys were collected on the fourth floor while payment for Accommodation Tax had to be made separately at the first-floor front desk. When I asked if this could be done on the fourth floor instead, I was told it could—but why wasn’t this streamlined? For a hotel under Prince Hotels’ name with such pricing, this level of service is disappointing compared to even standard business hotels offering better hospitality. If asked whether I’d use this accommodation again—the answer is no. A truly disappointing experience overall!

    I wanted to spend some relaxing time nearby, so I decided to stay here. This is a rare accommodation in Tokyo where you can experience the tranquility of a Ryokan. The charm of this place lies in enjoying both the serenity of Hanakohro and the relaxing atmosphere of Takanawa Prince Hotel. The Forbes Travel Guide five-star rating truly reflects the dedication of the staff. Although many staff members are young, their earnest efforts are evident, and their smiles were very comforting. The cuisine was delicately flavored and refined. I was delighted that my room was upgraded—it made my stay even more special. As someone who pays attention to interiors due to my profession, I noticed how this older building has been beautifully transformed into a smart Japanese-modern style room with an elegant touch. The bathroom was minimalistic yet highly functional. A hotel is ultimately about its people; no matter how grand a building may be, it cannot provide an elegant experience without excellent service from its staff. One suggestion: while the food is exceptional, upgrading the tableware slightly could enhance its luxurious feel even further—after all, it’s a five-star establishment!     Highly Satisfying Property

    I stayed at a Prince Hotel for the first time in a while, and I was very satisfied with the property, enjoying a comfortable time. Every staff member I encountered from arrival by car to departure was friendly, pleasant, and helpful with smiles. Hanakohro had a calm atmosphere like a ryokan, and both the room and lounge were lovely for relaxing. The room upgrade was also a delightful surprise! Thank you very much. It was my first experience touring lounges, each having its own unique charm which made it enjoyable. The meals at Hanakohro were the most delicious without being crowded, making it comfortable. Additionally, I enjoyed various activities such as garden walks and spa use. The benefits of being an IKYU Diamond member were also appreciated. The 3,000 yen hotel credit allowed me to purchase cake and drinks to take out from Shin-Takanawa Hotel (Shin-Takanawa Hoteru) which I enjoyed at home. After staying this time, I personally understood why the reviews are good! Thank you very much for your hospitality. I'd like to visit again in another season.

    I was completely rejuvenated!

    My mother liked it and we revisited. From the requested amenities in advance to check-in on the day and check-out the next day, the hospitality of all the staff was wonderful, and as always, I was impressed. We were also very grateful for being moved to a window-side Room due to availability, and for placing a chair at the entrance to serve as a handrail for my elderly mother. Thank you very much. As it becomes increasingly difficult to travel far each year, my mother appreciates being able to enjoy the Ryokan atmosphere in Tokyo, so we would like to visit again in a different season.

    We enjoyed an authentic Ryokan experience.

    I stayed at the end of the New Year holiday. For various reasons I couldn’t travel far this year, but even while staying at a Hotel in Tokyo, it had a Ryokan-like atmosphere. With a limited number of Rooms, it wasn’t crowded, and I was able to relax and unwind. Lately, it’s disappointing that more lounges no longer offer champagne, so I really appreciated that you still do. The small bites during bar time were also delicious. It would be nice if there were a few more self-serve food options, but given the small number of Rooms and the post-COVID situation, that may be difficult. As always, the staff were attentive and made my stay very comfortable. The Room felt a bit cold, and I was also concerned that it didn’t humidify well and felt quite dry. I’d love to visit again when there is availability. It made for a wonderful New Year holiday.

    I had a fulfilling time.

    I stayed in a 50 square meter Japanese-style room from Friday the 20th to Sunday the 22nd. Every year, we stay at a city hotel around this time for our wedding anniversary, but this year, since our eldest son has started walking, we thought a Japanese-style room would be better and chose your hotel. Additionally, your hotel offers a daycare center (Shinagawa Prince) and babysitter services, allowing us to dine out while leaving our child in care. It was unfortunate that there was no doorman upon our arrival at the hotel, and no one approached us until I signaled. Perhaps it was because there were many banquet guests in the evening. However, once we moved to Hanakohro, a different world awaited us. It was quiet as there were no general guests due to the exclusive elevator. Also, check-in was done in the room, which was convenient. The setup of the crib for the baby, removal of the shoji screens, and relocation of the vase were promptly handled. Of course, the bouquet for my wife, which I had requested in advance, was also properly prepared. We visited the exclusive Hanakohro lounge after dinner. The service content varies by time, and each can be enjoyed. It seems that lounges other than Hanakohro (such as Shintakanawa and Sakura Tower) are also available. The bathroom and washroom had the atmosphere of a ryokan, were user-friendly, and had a full range of amenities. Additionally, since it was the winter solstice, yuzu was also provided. Breakfast was Japanese-style in the lounge. If desired, a buffet on the first floor dining is also possible. We decided to enjoy both the room and lounge. Both days offered different and very delicious breakfasts. The next day, we had a sitter arranged by the hotel come, and my spouse and I went out during the day. We had a very enjoyable time. The garden had illuminations, enhancing the Christmas mood. The ice sculptures were quite impressive and nice. It was like a dream for three days. Finally, I would like to mention some points of concern. Perhaps because Hanakohro was set up after renovation, the view from the window was of the rooftop with weeds, which was not very appealing. The angle also made the view from regular rooms concerning. It seems that higher rooms offer a garden view, but since this room is also a high-priced suite, I wish something could be done. Additionally, the performance of the humidifier was insufficient. The bathroom is far, so it was challenging to deal with dryness. Similarly, since the view cannot be seen from the lounge, perhaps the lounge should be on the garden side? The exclusive lounge felt somewhat incomplete. Also, the baby chair in the lounge was dirty. Nevertheless, experiencing a Japanese ryokan while staying at a hotel was very enjoyable, true to the concept. I would like to visit again.

    Is it the second tim...

    Is it the second time this year? We were both looking forward to visiting Hanakouro after a long time. We were able to take a break, so we made a sudden reservation, but we were able to spend our time comfortably and leisurely this time as well. The breakfast was very delicious. I left a little early for work, but since we were given a late checkout, my wife was able to enjoy a walk in the garden and had a pleasant time. Thank you to all the staff. We will visit again.
