    Accommodation for Adults

    When I arrived at the accommodation's parking lot, it was pouring rain, so I waited in the car for the rain to ease. To my surprise, when I looked out the window, a staff member was standing next to my car with an umbrella to escort me. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional overall; there wasn't a single moment of discomfort or unkindness. The interior and room were also very clean, allowing for a pleasant stay. The meals were all delicately seasoned without being overpowering, with plenty of variety and absolutely delicious. It felt like an accommodation for adults where one can relax quietly and peacefully. The only thing I thought could be improved is having a vending machine inside the facility.

    I stayed for my birt...

    I stayed for my birthday. Although I mentioned my birthday during check-in, there were no celebratory words during my stay. Since I paid over 50,000 yen per person, I expected a certain level of hospitality, but there was none, which was very disappointing. For those expecting such thoughtful gestures on special occasions like anniversaries, it seems necessary to clearly communicate this at the time of reservation. Unfortunately, by the time I checked out on my special day, I felt very sad.

    Definitely coming back.

    Finally, I was able to stay at this popular accommodation that is hard to book. With this, I have used all three Onsen at Shinyu, and among them, this accommodation stands out with an exceptionally high level of satisfaction. Being able to move around the facility without using slippers from the moment you take off your shoes in the lobby until checkout was very pleasant. The service was polite, and it gave the impression that staff training is thorough. It’s understandable why there are many international guests. The meals were satisfying in both quantity and taste while focusing on local production for local consumption. Thank you for the wonderful food. There wasn’t a single aspect of room amenities, towel quality and quantity, or mattress firmness that left me dissatisfied. This is truly remarkable. However, there is one point regarding the room that I hope can be improved: the sunshade for the window in the open-air bath. Due to strong afternoon sunlight coming from above, there were times when direct sunlight hit my face and I had to bathe with my back turned toward Lake Suwa. It’s a shame not being able to fully enjoy such a beautiful view of Lake Suwa. Even blinds would suffice; I hope measures can be taken to soften sunlight. I also used the open-air bath on the top floor with panoramic views but felt it would have been more relaxing if there were shaded spaces where one could rest after bathing. Despite these comments, it’s certain that I would definitely choose this accommodation again if given another opportunity!

    The accommodation is...

    The accommodation is compact, making it very easy to move around inside. Meals are served in private rooms, and perhaps due to the limited number of guest rooms, we hardly encountered other guests during our stay, which was nice. The food, onsen, guest room, and the hospitality of the staff were all satisfying. I think this is a very well-balanced accommodation.

    A relaxing accommodation, truly just as described.

    This was my first stay. I enjoyed the pleasant feel of tatami underfoot after removing my shoes at the entrance. The Onsen in the room, a cypress bath, was very relaxing, and the rooftop open-air bath offered stunning views of Lake Suwa with breathtaking sunsets, starry skies, and sunrises. The private dining experience for both dinner and breakfast was delicious and highly satisfying. I would love to visit again!

    A wonderful accommodation you'll want to visit again

    It was truly the "best" accommodation! The moment we entered the room, we were moved by the breathtaking view of Lake Suwa through the large windows. The bright and open interior, combined with a private hot spring bath offering a lake view, made for a luxurious experience. Both breakfast and dinner were carefully prepared and delicious, and the view from the panoramic bath was exceptional. Later, I realized that we had been guided to a room on a higher floor than what we reserved—an unexpected upgrade that made us very happy. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and it’s an accommodation I’d love to visit again in another season. I’m also interested in visiting other accommodations in this group!

    The Onsen in the room was excellent.

    It was amazing to enjoy the Onsen with natural hot spring water directly in the Room. The view was great, offering a very pleasant scenery.

    Enjoyed the Onsen.

    Arrived at Kami-Suwa Station at 17:12 and took a taxi as the shuttle bus service ended at 17:00. Reached the location by 17:20 and checked in. Dinner was scheduled for the latest time of 18:30, so after settling into the room, there was no time to enjoy the Onsen before dinner, making it a bit rushed. It would be better if check-in were available before 17:00. The bath experience was excellent, with both the indoor bath in the room and the open-air bath being Onsen, allowing for full enjoyment of hot springs.

    A relaxing one-night, two-day stay with exceptional hospitality to soothe both body and mind.

    I visited Kamisuwa for the first time on a long-awaited trip with my mother. The room, cuisine, and Onsen all exuded hospitality, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing and luxurious time. We traveled by train this time. The staff kindly assisted us with shuttle service to the station and directions to Kamisuwa Taisha Shrine, which was very helpful. We booked the All-Inclusive Plan for this stay and were delighted that we could order drinks from the menu directly from our room. Every drink was delicious, especially the sweetness of the amazake, which was surprising. While everything was highly satisfying overall, I noticed that in the natural hot spring bath (Gensen Kakenagashi), only a small amount of water flowed out. On the first day, it felt more like an ordinary bath as it took some effort to warm up properly after multiple attempts. It would be greatly appreciated if adjustments could be made in this regard.

    A quiet accommodation with a great view

    I stayed on the 4th floor and enjoyed the view of Lake Suwa from the room. The staff provided excellent hospitality with a perfect balance of attentiveness and smiles from check-in to check-out, making my stay very comfortable. Although there were other guests on the same floor, I didn't hear any noise at all and found it to be a very quiet accommodation.

    Excellent service.

    The female staff's hospitality was truly wonderful. The Room and the private open-air bath were also excellent. However, while the ingredients of the meals were good, the seasoning did not suit my taste. Especially for breakfast, the small dishes had a light flavor, and even the dashi tea rice felt bland—I wasn't sure how to enjoy it. For dinner, both the sukiyaki and shigure hot pot with Shinshu beef were overly seasoned, and without plain white rice to balance it out, it was quite overwhelming. It was very disappointing because everything else was so outstanding. Also, I found the incense in the lobby a bit too strong—perhaps staff members have become accustomed to it since they are always there. I am sensitive to smells so I may have noticed it more than others; however, even my companion mentioned that it was overpowering—it might be better if it's just a subtle scent instead... Despite all this feedback I've shared, I had a very enjoyable time overall!

    The highest level of hospitality

    I visited Suwa because I wanted to stay at this Hotel. From check-in to check-out, I was able to spend a comfortable time. The high-level hospitality and service of the staff were impressive and surprising. Although it was fully booked that day, I hardly encountered other guests, making me wonder if anyone else was staying there. The infinity open-air bath at sunset and the Room's bath allowed me to enjoy Onsen, which was great! The scenery was also wonderful; during the day, Lake Suwa could be seen beautifully, and at night, the moon appeared clearly. I could relax both physically and mentally and spent a luxurious time. This is a Property I'd recommend to others.

    First Time in Suwa

    My first trip to Suwa. From arrival to departure, the hospitality was impeccable. Thank you very much. The bus tour of Suwa Taisha Shrine was also very satisfying, as we were taught things we wouldn't have noticed on our own. After the tour, we warmed up in the bath, enjoyed meals made with local ingredients, and indulged in delicious sake. The pudding in the Room was also delightful. I also appreciated the gauze pajamas that didn't feel stuffy. I would love to visit again in a different season.

    It was very good! I want to go again.

    The onsen bath was very pleasant with a continuous flow of natural hot spring water. The room, as well as the entire hotel, is very clean, and the hospitality of the staff, including the shuttle service, is excellent. The meals are all delicious, and if you are looking for a place to relax comfortably as a couple, I would recommend this hotel.

    Hospitality Stays

    We received very warm hospitality, including shuttle service from the station to the property and attentive care at the property. The view of Lake Suwa from the top floor was like sightseeing from the room. The property was well-cleaned, and above all, the hot water was excellent.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality this time as well. Lake Suwa in winter... of course, it's cold, but the clear blue sky and crisp air feel very pleasant. Sui Suwako is a favorite Stays, a comfortable space where you don't need to go sightseeing anywhere else. The staff's service is always wonderful. During our 1-night, 2-day stay, we enjoyed the Onsen in the Room eight times in total, four times each, soothing our tired minds and bodies. As always, the meals, which are thoughtfully prepared to reflect the season, delighted our eyes, taste buds, and ears. We thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast this time as well. *The ears refer to the various stories and information shared by the staff about the dishes and related matters. We hope to visit again during the fireworks season. To all the staff! Thank you for your perfectly balanced and very warm hospitality this time as well.

    Birthday

    It was a trip to Nagano starting the day before my birthday. I had high hopes for snow, but unfortunately, there wasn't any. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the view of Lake Suwa right in front of me. From check-in to check-out, the same staff member attended to us during meals, always with a smile, which was very comforting. The open-air bath in the guest room was fed by a hot spring, and the meals were more than ample. The sashimi, a special service from the head chef, was also very delicious. I would definitely like to visit again in early summer.

    I was extremely satisfied!!!

    First Trip to Suwa Choosing this Property was the best decision ever!!!! When I informed them in advance that it was a birthday trip, they provided unexpected services, creating the best memories!!! The fact that there are few Rooms is also great, allowing for a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The Onsen on the rooftop was also nice. However, since it was the end of December this time, it was a bit cold due to the temperature, which was a bit disappointing. My ears were cold and hurt (laughs). I want to enter while watching the fireworks over Lake Suwa in the summer!! And since you wear a bathing suit, it's mixed bathing, so next time I can use it with friends of the opposite sex, and I want to come back! The food was delicious and very satisfying. I was surprised by the size of the melon the next morning, lol. The staff were all wonderful people, and I thought I would like to meet them again. And the bus tour service for visiting the four shrines was really good to request. The guide explained in an easy-to-understand and entertaining way that made it interesting. I really encountered a great Property this time! Thank you very much.

    I was able to spend a relaxing time.

    The staff maintained a good distance, allowing us to relax leisurely. We enjoyed local sake in a quiet space at the sake bar. The rooftop open-air bath offered a view of Lake Suwa, and we liked the water, but the Facility was a bit disappointing. It felt like a small pool. Bathing in the early morning is recommended as passing cars are not a concern.

    Every year, I visit ...

    Every year, I visit Suwa for a pilgrimage to Suwa Taisha. This time, I used the property for the first time and it was great. I love sake, so the all-inclusive plan and the local sake bar service were delightful. I was surprised to see Lake Suwa turn green. I don't think it's something the property can do anything about, but I hope the local government will make efforts. I plan to visit again next year.

    Luxury Ryokan by Lake Suwa

    I used this property during my trip to the Matsumoto area, visiting Ueda Castle, Matsumoto Castle, and Takashima Castle. It is located along the road by Lake Suwa, but it is a bit difficult to find and enter by car. The entrance and lobby are elegantly designed and gave a good impression. The entire building is equipped with tatami mats, and you have to take off your shoes, which was a bit surprising, but not bad. The lobby has a Marantz CD player and B&W speakers, a well-matched combination, so the sound quality is very good, but I thought the music selection could be improved. The staff's response was pleasant, although a bit slow, leaving a very good impression. I was concerned about the step in the approach to the room. The corridors are all tatami, and you don't use slippers, so why isn't the room barrier-free? I wondered if this couldn't be addressed during the renovation. The room was relatively convenient to use, and surprisingly, a high point was that bathrobes were provided. Now, here are some disappointing points. The rooftop open-air bath is visible from the surrounding buildings, and you have to wear a bathing suit, but I didn't feel it was worth the effort to enter. Indeed, you can soak in the bath while looking at Lake Suwa, but it's a bit narrow, and the view of the cars running on the road beside and the surrounding buildings is concerning. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were not satisfactory and did not match the price. I understand the effort to use local ingredients, but the only dish I found delicious was the mushroom hot pot. If you're going to serve snow trout sashimi (river fish has a smell), local chicken or game meat sashimi would have been better, and the local rice cooked in a clay pot was a bit sticky, so branded rice like Yukitsubaki cooked in a pot would have been better. This is the first ryokan where I couldn't enjoy the meals so much. For breakfast, I would have preferred white rice instead of porridge, and if you want to serve porridge, please make white rice an option. Also, the main dish, yudofu, was not tasty at all, and I couldn't bring myself to eat it. Since it's a mountain property, I didn't have high expectations for the meals, but I was disappointed. The building, facilities, room, and service are good for the price, but the meals lowered the evaluation, making it a property I can't highly recommend overall. I hope for improvements in the meals.

    Hospitality enhances satisfaction.

    The quality of the meals, the Onsen, the comfort of the room, and the amenities were all more than satisfactory, but above all, the hospitality and service of the staff greatly enhanced our satisfaction. From the welcome upon arrival by car to the guidance to the room, the meal guidance, and the final farewell, everything was flawless. In particular, the pleasant manner and content of the conversation with the person who attended to us during meals, as well as their demeanor while serving, were truly wonderful and added a special touch to our travel memories.

    The twilight is beautiful.

    I visited during the Suwa Lake Marathon. Upon arrival, I was immediately informed about the traffic regulations, and throughout my stay, I received greetings and assistance in various situations, making the hospitality very satisfying. The exterior of the property has a slightly old-fashioned feel, but once you pass through the entrance curtain, you can hear the sound of a shishi-odoshi, and the lobby is filled with the scent of incense. The tatami flooring throughout the entire property gives it a very clean and comfortable atmosphere. Regarding the bath, the rooftop bath had a great view, but the room bath allowed me to feel the heat and viscosity of the water more, making it hard to choose between the two. Both breakfast and dinner featured local ingredients from Nagano, regional cuisine, and autumn delicacies like matsutake mushrooms, providing a menu that allowed me to enjoy the season and a very satisfying meal. The highlight this time, as the title suggests, was the view from the room at dusk. The sunset over Lake Suwa with crimson clouds and people passing by the backlit lakeside gave me the illusion of looking at a painting. Additionally, I could see fireworks from the room, possibly from the marathon's eve festival, making it a highly satisfying stay. I will visit again.
