    Satisfaction Anytime

I’ve stayed here so many times that I’ve lost count, but this time I visited with my parents for my birthday trip. No matter when I come, the food is always satisfying, the Room is wonderful, and the Onsen leaves your skin silky smooth—nothing to complain about. Also, the light snacks in the annex lounge are exquisite, which makes me want to stay here again. They even celebrated my birthday, and it was a fantastic trip right to the end. This is an Accommodation that never disappoints no matter how many times I visit, so I’d like to keep coming back. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

    A Grown-Up Summer Vacation

Stayed on August 18 My husband and I both turned 60 in July, so to celebrate we invited my 83-year-old mother and our 25-year-old daughter, and the four of us stayed here. We stayed at Hyakurakusou in Noto in March and were very satisfied, so we came this time with high expectations. We arrived too early and planned to wait in the parking lot, but a staff member noticed our car right away, hurried over, and guided us to the lobby. My elderly mother has trouble walking, so I was grateful that we were allowed to check in early. The hospitality was wonderful—everyone was attentive and thoughtful at every step. My mother was absolutely delighted and keeps saying she wants to come again. The meals were delicious and outstanding. Our daughter kept exclaiming “It’s an illusion!” as she marveled at everything with delight. It also became a great memory that you prepared a gorgeous dessert plate at dinner to celebrate our 60th birthdays as a couple. After being affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake and heavy rains two years ago, we had been unable to relax for a long time and felt stressed every day, but this trip truly healed both body and mind. It felt like a luxurious summer vacation. Thank you very much. We will stay again!

    Meal portion size

Regarding the meals, we ordered the “Three Major Specialties,” and with that the portion size was just right; without it, it would have felt a bit lacking. Could you consider improving the overall portioning a little more? There were no fried dishes or simmered dishes either... The amount of sashimi was also small. How about adding one more tasty, filling dish?

    An impeccable resort.

We stayed in the annex. A living room with a couch sofa and spacious twin beds. Right after arriving, we were able to unwind from the long journey and feel refreshed with the complimentary beer in the Room refrigerator. The indoor bath alone was more than satisfying, but we also really enjoyed the private bath and the lounge on the same floor. Everything was excellent—the glasses and furnishings, as well as the complimentary drinks, snacks, and macarons available in the lounge. After dinner, we played billiards in the main building for the first time in a while and had a great time. In the morning, we ground coffee beans with the Room coffee mill for a wake-up cup of coffee; after a generous breakfast, we enjoyed smoothies and coffee in the lounge—keeping our usual morning routine while still having a luxurious start to the day. Both the moss garden by the entrance and the lounge terrace were beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and truly wonderful.

    It was incredibly relaxing.

The hospitality staff’s smiles were wonderful. Everyone was young, and I was surprised that they were all so attractive. They had extensive knowledge of the services, including the cuisine, and provided a truly relaxing and calming experience. It felt like many of them were local young people. The complimentary afternoon tea served from around 2:30 p.m. featured Japanese-style flavors using local ingredients and was absolutely delicious. Dinner was a delight for the eyes as well, with artistic presentation on every plate. It generously featured premium local ingredients, and everything was excellent. We also enjoyed the private bath at a leisurely pace, and making a Reservation was easy. In addition, the in-Room bath always had fresh Onsen water flowing—an exceptional treat for Onsen lovers.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip. Many of the staff were young, and they were efficient and left a great impression. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. We also ordered an extra serving of nodoguro, which was rich and fatty, and we’re glad we did. The interior decor placed throughout the property was very stylish as well. Due to our schedule, our stay felt a bit rushed, but next time we’d love to come back for a more relaxed two-night stay. Thank you very much.

    Family Trip

We stayed here to celebrate our two children starting their new jobs. We added an optional meal, and both parents and kids became obsessed with the hairy crab (haha). The portions were more than we could finish, and the whole family was very satisfied. We also appreciated the attentive service—such as delivering leftover dessert and rice made into rice balls to our Room. The Room was clean, and my daughter and I were able to use the private bath comfortably. The staff were pleasant and helpful, making it a wonderful memory. The amenities were average. The in-room drinks may suit coffee lovers, but for tea drinkers… not so much. If I could make a few requests: depending on the time of day, there was no wine in the lounge and there were time limits; I also wish it had been clearly stated in advance what size to expect for afternoon tea (personally, it felt smaller than a typical afternoon tea). Also, we stayed at Annex Kagura: we went to the parking lot 10 minutes before check-in time, but there was no one outside to guide us in the rain. We went to the main building for help; after we told them we were staying at Annex Kagura, they contacted the annex for us. When we returned to the annex parking lot, staff came out to welcome us. Since we arrived a bit early, it may have been unavoidable—but with a little adjustment, this could become an even more appreciated service. Overall, it was a lovely Accommodation and became a great memory of our parent-child trip. Thank you very much.

    Stay in the Tatara Suite

We stayed as a couple in a spacious Room with an Onsen semi-open-air bath. It was spotlessly cleaned, the Kutani ware teacups were lovely, and we were able to relax. The Room itself is excellent. The meals were average. Personally, in Ishikawa I tend to use places like Kagaya or Matsuno Midori as my benchmark—though at this price point, I suppose it’s about what you’d expect. The lounge is usually unattended, which makes it relaxing, but there’s no support if you don’t know how to use things. Sometimes the snacks are also left empty. From a hospitality standpoint, it felt second-tier—maybe they rely on part-time staff? It really depends on what level of service and quality you’re looking for; at around 30,000 yen per person, I imagine many guests would be very satisfied. At the moment it sits in the middle—not quite luxury, not quite business. Since the Facility itself is so good, I personally would rather see them raise prices slightly and improve the food as well as the overall service and hospitality quality.

    Having stayed in Not...

Having stayed in Noto before and had a wonderful experience, we chose Hyakurakusou again this time. The meal service was perfectly timed, and we were very satisfied with the tableware and presentation, which made dining truly enjoyable. Even after we were completely full, we still enjoyed the late-night rice balls—they were delicious. We were able to relax and unwind, and if we have the chance, we would love to visit again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    It was the best Ryokan!

I stayed for one night, and everything was comfortable—from the staff’s hospitality to the meals and the in-house Facilities. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptionally delicious, offering a wonderful way to enjoy Kanazawa. The Room amenities and complimentary drinks such as water were also thoughtfully provided. The in-room bath, large public bath, and private bath were all very clean, allowing me to relax at ease. This is a charming Accommodation that I would love to visit again. Thank you very much for such a truly comfortable stay!

The staff’s warm smiles were truly soothing.

From the moment we arrived, the warm smiles of the young staff made us feel at ease. Everyone had such a gentle, welcoming presence that helped us truly relax. We were treated to afternoon tea with kind smiles, and items like the lightly salted ice cream especially gave us a real taste of Ishikawa. The salt was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine with both our eyes and our palate. Dinner was excellent, and we particularly loved how each piece of sashimi came with perfectly matched seasonings and condiments—it was a delight. Breakfast was also delicious and fun. The tableware was charming, and above all, the rice was outstanding!! We would love to visit again.

I stayed again for the first time in two years, and the meals I had been looking forward to exceeded my expectations once more—every dish was truly delicious and deeply moving. Since two of us were celebrating our birthday month, we asked if we could have cake in our Room, and they kindly lent us plates. They even gifted us a private bath, and we are truly grateful for such thoughtful hospitality. I was also impressed by the small updates throughout the property. The socks provided for use inside were more comfortable than before, and even the darts had been replaced with new ones. Seeing their continued commitment to improving even the smallest details reminded me again of what makes this Ryokan so special. Not only is the cuisine outstanding, but so are the hospitality and attentive care—an Accommodation that makes me look forward to returning. I will definitely visit again.

    Relaxing Accommodation

It was a relaxing, peaceful Accommodation. We enjoyed the lounge and had some drinks—this is an Accommodation where you can truly enjoy the Facility itself. There aren’t any entertainment facilities nearby, but it’s perfect for a laid-back adults-only getaway. The Onsen was great too, with private baths available by Reservation as well as private baths you can use without a Reservation, so Onsen lovers can take their time and enjoy a long soak. All the staff were young, and they were cheerful, friendly, and spoke clearly. The meals featured local ingredients; everything was delicious, starting with the sashimi. Since explanations about dinner/breakfast times, private bath times, lounge hours, etc. were given verbally, we asked a staff member to write out a schedule for us. It was neatly written and easy to understand, which really helped. If there had been memo paper and a pen in the Room, we wouldn’t have needed to ask… Overall, it was an Accommodation where we could enjoy a calm and relaxing adults’ trip.

We stayed in the Annex TATARA Suite Room. The hospitality and service were attentive, the Room was clean, and it was very spacious, so we could relax comfortably. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious, but if you enjoy it with alcohol, the additional charges can add up quite a bit. The private bath was described as open-air, but it only had large windows that open wide, so it may feel a bit underwhelming for those who prefer a true open-air bath.

We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

This was our first stay. Thanks to special discounts and other perks, we were able to stay at a great value. It felt almost all-inclusive. Although many of the staff were young, their hospitality was outstanding, and we had a wonderful time. On the Shuttle Service bus on the way back, the driver explained nearby facilities around the Accommodation. I thought it would have been helpful to hear that on the way there, as it could have been useful for a walk on our second day. We were very satisfied with both meals; for us as we are approaching our senior years, the portions were generous. However, we were told that optional add-ons must be selected by contacting you the day before (and one item was unavailable due to short notice). If this was due to our lack of awareness, I apologize, but we would appreciate earlier guidance or a clearer selection option on IKYU if possible. We would be very grateful if this could be improved. That said, everything about the Accommodation—including the staff and the Onsen—was excellent. We would definitely love to return.

    Thank you very much.

Thank you very much. Thanks to your warm hospitality, we were able to relax and unwind. ・The meals were extremely delicious. Our fifth-grade child is at an age where they want to enjoy the same meal as adults, so thank you for preparing a kaiseki course that was almost the same as the adult one. The afternoon tea after arrival was also wonderful. ・The futon in the Room was thick enough, and we rested well. ・The game Room had a calm atmosphere, and we enjoyed it at a leisurely pace. ・The private Onsen was excellent, but the large public bath felt a little lacking... That was the only disappointing point.

    Everything is wonderful.

Although there seem to be various reviews, for us as a couple, the hospitality, Room, and meals were all wonderful. Especially the meals—both dinner and breakfast—looked great, tasted excellent, and were well prepared; we enjoyed everything without leaving any behind. The only disappointment was that we arrived in an EV, but charging required payment via TOYOTA Wallet...

    I made a Reservation...

I made a Reservation because the convenient Shuttle Service from Kanazawa Station and the high Review ratings were deciding factors. The afternoon tea right after arriving at the Ryokan was wonderful, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. For dinner, we added an optional upgrade featuring three local delicacies (abalone, Noto beef, and blackthroat seaperch), and it was so impressive that we were completely satisfied. When making the Reservation, I mentioned that we would be staying for our wedding anniversary. As a kind gesture, they prepared a dessert plate with a message after the meal, which made us very happy. The Onsen was also great—besides the private open-air bath, having a semi-open-air bath in our Room was a nice touch. We also used the open-air bath at the large public bath area, and by chance no one else was there, so we could enjoy it comfortably as if it were private. All of the staff were kind, and both their hospitality and service exceeded our expectations. It was a truly wonderful Ryokan, and I would love to visit again.

    Family Trip

We chose Hyakurakuso at my daughter’s request—she said she wanted to go to an Onsen. After we arrived, we enjoyed matcha and afternoon tea, as well as the lounge where the offerings change by time slot. We also enjoyed the private bath after dinner. However, the water temperature felt a little lukewarm for me. All of the staff were young, cheerful, and attentive, and our conversation during dinner was delightful. I was able to spend a truly wonderful time with my daughter, who usually lives apart from me. Thank you very much. We will definitely visit again.

    We highly recommend Annex Kagura.

This time, we stayed at Bettei Kagura, which is in a higher price range. In the end, I felt it was well worth the splurge. First, we were able to use a simple lounge. There were sweets, alcohol, and snacks available, and we could relax and take our time. What concerned me slightly was how small the space was and how slowly drinks and food were replenished—I ended up calling the staff out of frustration. Since there is no time limit on usage, when groups stay for a long time, guests who arrive later may not be able to find seats. As there were no staff stationed in the lounge, it felt unmanaged. I think some measures are needed—such as setting rules, increasing staff patrols, or moving to a larger space. The high tea served at the main building was also great. However, it was disappointing that the fruit platter that should have been prepared in the Room was omitted. The Room itself was spacious, and having a separate living area made our stay very comfortable. The view from the Room was also outstanding—we truly enjoyed the peaceful snowy scenery. Next, having all baths as private reservable baths was an interesting system. There wasn’t much of a view, but they were spacious and relaxing. Also, as part of our benefits package, the private open-air bath at the main building was the best—open and with a great view. We didn’t have enough time to use the large public bath at the main building this time, so I’d love to try it on our next visit. We enjoyed our meals in a private dining room at a relaxed pace. Not only were the dishes original and creative; even the tableware showed thoughtful attention to detail—it really impressed me. Even breakfast offered choices with plenty of ingenuity; it felt like one new experience after another until the very end. The staff member who assisted us provided service that was very polite without being overbearing—I found it extremely pleasant. Since we arrived a bit early, they came out to meet us at the parking lot and guided us inside. I continued to be amazed by their attentive care throughout. I’m truly glad we stayed at Bettei Kagura—it exceeded its price in terms of service quality. I would like to stay again.

    We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed as a family. For the welcome drink, we were served matcha and lemon yokan, which we enjoyed very much. This time we stayed at Annex Kagura, and we were also able to go back and forth to the main building, where we had afternoon tea. It was excellent. Annex Kagura does not have a large public bath, but we could use the one in the main building. The bath in the annex was a private bath, and we were very satisfied because it was quite spacious for a private bath (and with only a small number of guest rooms, it was easy to use without any issues). The Room was clean, and we were happy that all drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary. What stood out most was dinner and breakfast—every dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The lounge was open until late at night, and we also appreciated the complimentary beer and wine. The service and hospitality were more than sufficient. We would love to stay again as a special reward trip.

We had a wonderful time as a family.

Whenever I visit Kanazawa, I’ve been staying here for the past few years. It’s wonderful that even after the bath, the whole family can relax together (having a beer, enjoying snacks, and playing puzzle rings). The meals were also delicious, and we really enjoyed the seafood. On the Shuttle Service bus on the way back, it left a lasting impression how the driver shared various stories about Kanazawa as he took us to our destination. This is a Ryokan I’d like to stay at again when I visit Kanazawa next year.

    A long-established Ryokan?

I booked a highly rated Accommodation in Kanazawa for a celebration. From the advance communications, I felt it truly lived up to its reputation as a long-established Ryokan. On the day of my stay, I took the Shuttle Service and immediately felt something was off. The guest demographic was very young—so much so that I wondered if I had made the wrong Reservation. The food was excellent, but it was disappointing that there was not enough guidance on amenities or explanations of the Facility (such as how to use the lounge). Also, when confirming dinner time, I would have appreciated having breakfast time confirmed at the same time. It seems to target younger guests, and most of the staff were also young. Given this concept, I don’t think I will use it again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to people around my age.

The layout of the private bath was disappointing.

The smoking room, lounge, and private bath are right next to each other, and the entire second floor smells strongly no matter where you are. As a non-smoker, I got a headache from the smell of cigarettes and e-cigarettes both while using the private bath and while eating and drinking in the lounge. For some people, rather than relaxing, it’s a stressful environment. Many of the other guests seemed to be smokers and were going back and forth between the smoking room and the lounge; I understood that these were people who know exactly how to enjoy this place. It seems to suit some people. Dinner was generally quite salty; about all that left an impression was the local sake and ochazuke. It was also disappointing that—unusually for this price range—you have to bring towels from your Room yourself. Overall, it was a stay that left me with many questions.

    Service Quality

It was a birthday stay, but I had serious doubts about the quality of the service. Email communication before our visit was smooth, which made it even more disappointing. The two of us were dining, but while we were still eating, the next dishes were brought out as if to rush us, and they almost tried to clear plates that we hadn’t finished yet. Also, I had mailed in a bottle of champagne for a surprise, but a staff member suddenly entered our private room and said, “I’ll pour the sparkling wine,” then opened it without warning. I was stunned by how casually it was served—almost as if it were an Hotel amenity. My companion didn’t even realize it was my gift, and being told it was “sparkling wine” despite me bringing champagne was also shocking. The steak had too much fat and made me feel sick. Even though we were dining in a private room and staying in a suite Room, no one even asked for feedback on the meal, and I felt we weren’t valued. Despite charging a Service Fee, I didn’t feel welcomed at all. The bath in the Room was unbelievably hot, while the Room itself was unbelievably cold and dry. The amenities, hair dryer, and other equipment all felt cheap. When I tried to watch YouTube or Netflix on the TV, the previous guest’s login information was still there. That made me worried about privacy. This is not an inexpensive rate at all, yet overall it wasn’t worth the price. I will not stay again and cannot recommend it.

    Kid-friendly & perfect for a relaxing stay!

We visited during a heavy snowfall caused by a cold wave. Due to a cancellation, we were upgraded and stayed in a Junior Suite! The room was very spacious, which was perfect for our active 3-year-old and 1-year-old children, allowing the parents to relax comfortably as well. Dinner featured an indulgent seafood-centered menu, while breakfast offered delicious local Japanese cuisine packed with regional charm—it was absolutely delightful. The sashimi, crab, Noto beef, nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and yellowtail were all incredibly tasty. The jibuni stew had such a gentle flavor that it warmed not only our stomachs but also our hearts. The staff members were kind and attentive; we especially enjoyed chatting with the shuttle bus driver on our way back. Our 3-year-old became very interested in "Himuro" after hearing his stories! Access was convenient as well—the hotel provided shuttle buses from Kanazawa Station or Kenrokuen Garden to the accommodation and even dropped us off at major sightseeing spots in the city on our return trip. If I may add one small request: I would have loved to know the brand of tea provided in the room. Also, while it's understandable due to the building's structure, there were many steps throughout—this made me think I should bring my parents here sooner rather than later (haha). Unfortunately, we couldn't visit the large public bath this time; however, even though it wasn't an Onsen bath, the private bathroom in our room was spacious enough for us to soak comfortably. The decorations in the lobby and hallways were charming—I found myself enchanted wherever I walked. Living in an area unfamiliar with snow made gazing at the snowy landscape outside our window feel exceptionally beautiful. This is such a wonderful accommodation that I can confidently recommend it to my friends. Thank you so much!
