    It was pretty much exactly as described in the Reviews, and we were very satisfied.

    It was almost exactly as described in the Reviews, which was great. The bathroom also seemed to be slip-resistant. However, one disappointing point was that while I was explaining two requests at the front desk, another staff member interrupted—perhaps because other guests were waiting behind me—and prioritized the guest behind me before my requests were finished.

    It was great.

    We stayed for one night on 8/7. It is a Hotel with classical Facilities, and my daughter took lots of photos because it looked great on Instagram. They also picked us up at Karuizawa Station, which was very helpful. We were very satisfied with both breakfast and dinner. We would like to stay again!

    We were very satisfied.

    I stayed here on the recommendation of an acquaintance who has visited Karuizawa many times. It was just a few minutes’ walk to Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza, so it was very convenient for exploring the area. The Room and the large public bath were both spacious, clean, and comfortable, and I really enjoyed both meals—they were delicious. I requested the Shuttle Service, and the vehicle was clean and the ride was excellent. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. If I had to mention one thing, it would have been even more comfortable if the TV supported network features. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Karuizawa.

    A Cozy Stay

    This was our first stay as three generations of mother and daughter. Since we were traveling with our 2-year-old granddaughter, we were able to enjoy a relaxed pace. We requested dinner on the day of arrival, and even though it was last-minute and fully booked, they kindly accommodated us. They also thoughtfully helped by providing a blanket when our granddaughter fell asleep during the meal, which we really appreciated. Of course, dinner was delicious!! However, the breakfast buffet felt a bit lacking, with limited choices of juices and breads. In the Room closet there were not many hangers and only limited storage space. The Room itself—especially the bed and bathroom—was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Although it seemed there were many guests at breakfast and dinner times, the guest room floor was quiet, which was nice. Also, we used the Shuttle Service between Karuizawa Station and the Hotel several times, which was very helpful. Thank you very much.

    It was quiet and nice.

    Although this Hotel faces the street and is close to Old Karuizawa Ginza, it was very quiet and relaxing once inside. The Shuttle Service to the station was helpful, and we appreciated the free drinks before check-in. The open-air bath in the large public bath also felt more spacious than expected. The Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The refrigerator did not cool very well. The breakfast buffet felt a little lacking, but it is a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

    It is a very lovely Hotel.

    First of all, the exterior is beautiful and really lifts your mood. Everyone passing by in front of the Hotel was taking photos. The Room was clean and spacious, and there is also a large public bath, but I especially liked the bath in the Room. The food was delicious, but if you call it “top-class French cuisine,” I’m not sure it truly qualifies as top-class. One downside is that the parking lot is small, and I felt the second parking lot was a bit far away. However, overall I am satisfied.

    The location is great, and it’s a comfortable place to stay. Breakfast doesn’t have a huge variety, but it’s delicious and can be enjoyed at a relaxed pace.

    It was a very good day.

    The Room was very comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were very clean. The course meal was filling and satisfying. The only drawback was that the breakfast buffet selection felt limited. I would have liked a greater variety of vegetables. Overall, I was very satisfied and would love to stay again.

    This was a wonderful Accommodation with a European-style, classic atmosphere. Thank you very much for upgrading our Room as well. The staff were extremely courteous and kind, the Room was clean, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious, so we had a very comfortable stay and made great memories. The only disappointing point was that while washing my hair in the large public bath shower area, water quickly pooled up and my feet ended up standing in it. I hope you might reconsider the cleaning approach on busy days. It rained and we couldn’t go to the open-air bath we had been looking forward to, so we’d like to visit again next time. Thank you very much.

    Wonderful

    We arrived a little earlier than planned and enjoyed a welcome drink of sparkling wine in the first-floor lounge. Perhaps because it was Friday, there were plenty of parking spaces available, so there was no problem. The Room was excellent. We went straight to the bath on the third floor; the open-air bath is beautiful and very relaxing. For dinner, we ordered a full-course French meal. It was delicious, and we enjoyed it with sparkling wine as a family. Breakfast is buffet-style, and the Japanese dishes are especially good. Dining while looking out at the view felt stylish—almost like being in Europe—and truly soothing. Thank you to all the staff for your warm smiles and pleasant service throughout our stay.

    We arranged a Reserv...

    We arranged a Reservation for pickup at Karuizawa Station (and if staff are available, they can also drop you off on the way back). Before the check-in time, we were able to enjoy sparkling wine and other complimentary drinks. Our assigned Room faced the road leading to Old Karuizawa Ginza, but it was quiet since there wasn’t much traffic late at night. The Room was right in front of the large public bath, making it very convenient to go back and forth—and loungewear was allowed—so my husband used it three times. We had dinner and breakfast included: a slightly luxurious full-course meal with generous portions, so we ended up leaving a little. One concern was that the lobster (I think) and other shellfish in the soup seemed overcooked and tough. They didn’t ask how we wanted the meat cooked, and the tea tasted like plain hot water—so I asked, “It has no aroma or flavor; is this how it’s supposed to be?” They replied, “Assam doesn’t develop color easily.” Isn’t Assam usually one of the stronger teas? I don’t drink tea often, so I’m not sure. Breakfast was better than a typical business hotel. The Room was spacious and gorgeous. I don’t think there were women’s amenities like cleansing oil or toner in the Room; they were available in the large public bath area. What bothered me was cleanliness: dust on the blinds around the clear glass in the bathroom (enough to look slightly white), brown staining inside the toilet bowl, visible black grime around part of the sink drain area, and ring marks on the round table—overall housekeeping felt lacking. There is only one elevator, so you may have to wait at times. The location was convenient: Old Karuizawa Ginza, the outlet mall, and Kumoba Pond are all within about a 20-minute walk.

    Service not worth the price

    Was this a Golden Week rate? Paying over JPY 130,000 for one night for two people didn’t feel commensurate with the service at this Hotel. With two meals included and dinner served as a course, I normally wouldn’t complain about the price! However, as an elderly couple who ended up having our course dinner with the crying of two small children as background noise, we couldn’t help but say something. It’s only natural that young couples should enjoy traveling while raising children… but even so, shouldn’t they have shown some consideration to nearby tables, or shouldn’t the Hotel staff have taken steps to be considerate of adjacent guests? The Hotel staff did not say a single word about this matter. This isn’t a lively family restaurant or food court… and since there was a spacious area next door, there should have been options such as moving seats. The young couple likely would have enjoyed themselves more too without worrying about those around them. All of the food was delicious, and the Hotel is small but well kept and clean in an area with excellent access—aside from the above issue, we were satisfied. Thank you for your hospitality.

    This was our second ...

    This was our second stay with the one-night, two-meals Plan. We really enjoyed the sparkling wine free-flow. We would love to stay again next time. A few points we noticed and requests: - The floor in the large public bath was slippery. There were anti-slip mats, but they were painful to walk on. - We would appreciate it if there could be a water dispenser in both the men’s and women’s baths. - For the breakfast buffet, we would be happy if fresh juice were available.

    My First Trip to Karuizawa

    A two-day trip to Karuizawa with the sole purpose of simply relaxing. The Room was spacious, and the surroundings were quiet, so we were able to unwind in peace. After a bit of sightseeing, we quickly returned to the Hotel, took a bath in the Room at 2:00 PM, and used the large public bath in the evening. On the second day, we used the large public bath from 3:00 PM. Both times no one else was there, so it felt like a private bath—such a luxury. There was also a free-flow sparkling wine service, and having it after bathing was amazing. While there, I had a chance to chat with one of your female staff members. That became my best memory from Karuizawa. I hoped I might see her at check-out, and I was so happy she was there. Sorry for talking for so long. Thank you very much for everything.

    Streamlined yet attentive service.

    I did not use the dining service, so I cannot rate it. However, the location (a 5-10 minute walk to Karuizawa Ginza was perfect for someone like me who prefers a quieter environment), the atmosphere and cleanliness of the facility, the onsen (I personally liked the slightly higher water temperature and found the amenities sufficient), and the staff's service with a comfortable balance of attentiveness were all highly satisfying. Additionally, my room was upgraded at check-in, allowing me to enjoy a truly comfortable two-night stay. I feel like I was able to fully recharge from daily fatigue. I would love to stay here again.

    The choice of this Hotel turned out to be excellent. Both the location and the feel of the Room were great, and the staff's service was pleasant, making me glad I chose this place. The public bath seemed popular among guests. It was well-maintained, clean, and enjoyable. Breakfast was also delicious. Above all, I loved the luxurious atmosphere upon entering the Room.

    It became a wonderful memory.

    The calm atmosphere and the excellent service from the staff made for a pleasant stay. The Room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The course dinner was also very delicious. Although we arrived before check-in time, they kindly stored our luggage, allowing us to leisurely explore the Old Karuizawa area and beyond. It was a memorable trip for us as a senior couple traveling together.

    The exterior, interior, and overall impression of the rooms were very clean. The room next to the lobby with a fireplace was particularly charming. It’s a short walk from Karuizawa Station on the side opposite the outlet mall, making it convenient to visit Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza shopping street. There are many stylish and delicious-looking shops along Karuizawa Main Street, and with a nearby bus stop, it’s an ideal location for sightseeing!

    First Trip to Karuizawa with Close Friends

    First trip to Karuizawa with close friends. We chose this Hotel because we were interested in the large bath and the beds. On the first day, there was some mist, but the outdoor large bath was magical, and we enjoyed a relaxing soak. The Room had twin beds that were spacious and very comfortable, allowing us to sleep soundly until morning. The staff were all friendly and provided excellent service. If given another chance, I would definitely stay at this Hotel again. Highly recommended!

    Satisfied with everything except the large public bath.

    The bath received a 3-star rating because the stone floor in the large public bath is slippery, which was the only downside. There was no crowd, and it felt like a private bath. The atmosphere of the large public bath is very nice, but it's unfortunate that the stone floor is slippery. The Room was spacious, and with an automatic toilet, my daughter begged me to install one at home as well. There were two pillows with different firmness levels, and each side had a different feel, so there were no issues with pillow comfort. The bed had just the right firmness for a good night's sleep. I purchased honey served at breakfast; its moderate sweetness makes it a great souvenir gift as well. This is a Hotel I would love to visit again!

    Satisfied with a stay for a family of five.

    We reserved 2 rooms for a family of 5. This is a hotel with an elegant atmosphere. The dinner was delicious, with each dish being satisfying and enjoyable. Unlike large hotels, there was no overlap with other guests in the elevator, and breakfast could be enjoyed at a relaxed pace. It felt as though time flowed gently here. Additionally, the room's solid door ensured that no noise from neighboring rooms could be heard. This is a hotel we would love to visit again. The bathroom received 3 stars because the floor was slippery, which was the only downside.

    Shower Water Volume and Settings

    The hotel's service and facilities are satisfactory, but when using the room's bathtub and shower simultaneously, the shower water pressure significantly decreases. Additionally, since the toilet is in the same space as the shower and bathtub, it can be slightly inconvenient to use. Other than that, its proximity to tourist spots and accessibility by car or on foot make it a great location for sightseeing!

    I can't wait to visit again.

    The petite accommodation in Karuizawa that we had been staying at for 30 years closed down a few years ago. Since then, we became "hotel gypsies," staying at various places, but this time, we finally found an accommodation that made us think, "This will be our regular place." That is Le Grand Kyukaruizawa. First, the parking lot. Since it is on the first floor of the building, even during a hot stay, our car was protected from UV rays in shaded parking instead of being exposed in an open-air lot. The front desk staff welcomed us with warm smiles. After toasting lightly with a welcome drink, we headed to our room. We chose a room with a balcony this time and stepped out to find Mount Asama right before us. The spacious room was filled with refreshing breezes—truly delightful! The bathroom and sink were spotless and came with fluffy towels. The large public bath is on the third floor. True to its name "Komorebi," the open-air bath offers such tranquility that you wouldn't believe you're in town—it was truly wonderful! At night under the starry sky, I relaxed my body completely and felt deeply rejuvenated. (However, upon entering the entrance where men’s and women’s baths are separated inside—I got confused as I couldn’t figure out how to proceed further into the women’s section initially! Gently opening one door clarified things quickly though; I noticed others experiencing similar confusion too—perhaps adding some explanation signage near entrances might help.) Dinner featured an elegant French full-course meal perfect for adults seeking calm ambiance; every dish reflected thoughtful preparation using local ingredients which tasted exceptional indeed! All serving staff wore bright smiles making dining experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast buffet next morning offered abundant variety amidst cool fresh air outdoors terrace seating options available too – drinks/fruits plentiful alongside unique items like curry/yakisoba delighted neighboring kids’ tables visibly thrilled! Location-wise unbeatable: My husband & I often attend performances held nearby Oga Hall conveniently reachable distance-wise while morning strolls around beloved Kumoba Pond perfectly complement itinerary likewise Old Karuizawa Ginza easily accessible ensuring utmost convenience overall leaving me wondering why hadn’t stayed sooner already? Lastly special mention regarding misplaced medicine box left behind breakfast table incidentally resolved promptly post-call assistance leading safe return homeward bound hassle-free thanks much appreciated indeed!!
