This is the Accommodation I’ve been curious about!
We are a couple in our 60s who are really into visiting different Onsen. This Accommodation had been on our radar for a long time because it seemed like good value, and we chose our Room and meal Plan based on Reviews. However, the Room we selected was up a steep staircase, and getting back and forth each time was difficult. We had read the Reviews and were mentally prepared in advance, but it still felt challenging... It might be too difficult for people in their late senior years? We are in our early senior years. It would have been even better if there had been an air purifier in the Room. The meals were great—the sashimi was fresh and very delicious. The baths were also wonderful: the Onsen water quality was excellent and left our skin feeling smooth, but there were a few spots where we wished there were handrails. There is a large parking lot right in front of the Accommodation, so we felt it is easy to visit by car.

The finest Accommodation with attentive, thoughtful hospitality
I was extremely satisfied with all the Facilities in the property. The all-inclusive plan and the amenities bar were both excellent. The meals were delicious, and they were served at just the right timing. I truly felt genuine hospitality from all the staff, and it was incredibly comfortable! I will definitely be back again.

At the end of summer vacation
The Room was spacious, drinks were available anytime and anywhere, and the bath was large, comfortable, and accessible at any time. The Accommodation was quiet all day with a calm atmosphere—nothing to complain about. By chance, we were also able to watch fireworks from the Room. However, I regret that the dining area had floor seating; I’ve lived in a Western-style lifestyle for decades. Even though I’m Japanese, I’m sorry about that.

Highly Satisfying Accommodation
We stayed for two nights. Both breakfast and dinner featured different dishes on the first and second nights, and the food was excellent. There was also a wide selection of alcohol at dinner, including many types of sake, which we enjoyed. Our Room had an open-air bath, and it was thoroughly cleaned, so we could relax comfortably. All the staff were pleasant, and we could tell they were well trained. Thank you for taking such good care of us. It was an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

Satisfied.
We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. We had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts, and on the second day they thoughtfully changed not only the dinner menu but also the breakfast menu. The meals were excellent in both portion size and taste. The bath was spacious and relaxing. (The space between washing areas is a bit narrow.) It was disappointing that we could only make one private bath Reservation per night, so we were only able to use two of the three private baths. It is all-inclusive with free drinks (self-service), but the drink corner opens at 7:00 a.m. in the morning and closes at 9:00 p.m. at night, so it would be even better if it opened one hour earlier in the morning and stayed open one hour later at night.

Couples’ Trip
We were very satisfied with the Room and the bath. However, it was disappointing that there was only one Room key. It would have been better to have two.

This is my favorite accommodation.
This was my fourth stay—I’m a repeat guest. I’m always comforted by the warm hospitality of the staff. I’m giving 4 stars because dinner felt less filling than before. I’d be happy if you could serve local fish. Breakfast was excellent, just as expected. I’d love to come again.

Excellent value for money in Room comfort
The Room was spacious and very comfortable for the price. The food was average, but hot dishes were served hot. The staff were efficient and cheerful, which made our stay pleasant. The private rooftop bath felt very exposed to view from the surroundings. The large open-air bath was excellent.

May be difficult for elderly guests.
I visited with my elderly mother, who uses a wheelchair. I’m sorry to be blunt, but there were many disappointing points. First, I cannot recommend this property for seniors (especially those with mobility issues). While some adjustments have been made so a wheelchair can manage in certain areas, the accessibility feels added on, and there are steps (stairs) throughout the building. We booked a Room with a semi-open-air Onsen bath, so I was able to help my mother use the Onsen in our Room, but neither of the two large public baths was accessible for her. There are steps (stairs) everywhere inside the building, and even as an able-bodied guest I had to be careful. It also seems they have moved to an all-inclusive style with free drinks during meals and other times, but it ends at 9:00 p.m., and after that there is absolutely no alcohol available for purchase—no vending machines and no service at the front desk. In other words, if you want alcohol after 9:00 p.m., you need to buy it in advance at a convenience store before arriving or before you start drinking after check-in (there isn’t one nearby once you arrive). The fridge in the Room was empty; free drinks as part of an all-inclusive plan is nice, but having no options at all after 9:00 p.m. was frustrating. I can see this long-established Ryokan is doing its best, but overall it felt half-finished in many respects. That said, both the quality of the Onsen water and the food are excellent. If you go with accurate information and realistic expectations, I think you can be very satisfied.

Outstanding value for money.
We stayed as a family of four for my wife’s birthday. This was our second stay, and we chose it again for the spacious connected Rooms, just like last time. When we arrived, a staff member escorted us to our Room and explained various things, including stories about Bokusui. The Room had two connected Rooms plus a tea room of about six tatami mats—essentially three Rooms in total—so it felt very spacious. It seems they started an all-inclusive plan about 10 days before our stay, and alcoholic drinks (including draft beer) were all-you-can-drink. There were snacks as well. This was available from check-in until 9:00 p.m., and you can also drink in the morning. The Room is old but well maintained and comfortable. We prepared the futons ourselves, which didn’t bother us. Amenities are picked up at the start, and they also helped fit yukata sizes. The food was delicious too—abalone grilled live-style, sukiyaki, and assorted sashimi were included—and drinks remained all-you-can-drink during dinner as well. The Onsen was great, especially the bath on the first floor. On departure, the staff even helped take photos and saw us off until the end—they were truly kind. We were very satisfied with both value for money and service; it honestly made me wonder how they make it work. My wife and our family were extremely happy and would love to return again. I really hope you continue offering this service going forward.

The Facility is old, but it is clean.
This Accommodation has a charming, nostalgic Showa-era feel. All the Facilities are old, but everything—down to the water faucets—is well polished and carefully maintained. Many of the staff are seasoned professionals, and their service is pleasantly welcoming. The meals were not overly large and were priced close to cost. At the end, they waved to us until we disappeared from view down the alleyway.

Stayed in the Crimso...
Stayed in the Crimson Room. No view—only the parking lot from the window. Spacious enough and reasonably clean. A slightly dark atmosphere with a black color scheme. Lotion and emulsion were provided, but there were no amenities such as a hairbrush or cotton pads. Cotton swabs were available at the large public bath. There are two large public baths with a男女入れ替え system (men/women switch by time). A notice at “Reijin-no-Yu” said it was limited to about 8 people to avoid crowding, which gives you an idea of its size. The open-air bath area had an unkempt garden and some puzzling decorations: 1) The rubber tree said to “release high-quality ions” had been completely cut down 2) A large ceramic frog ornament that felt like a later add-on 3) A sign reading “Reijin-no-Yu” lying sadly on its side next to the open-air bath 4) A mysterious plastic container placed right beside the open-air bath... It thoroughly ruined the mood for guests who come looking forward to enjoying the Onsen. To reach the baths you have to go up stairs and then down; there is no elevator, so it’s not suitable for elderly guests. The bath that switched over the next morning was larger, but its rubber tree had also been cut down. Because there’s even an explanatory sign about it, you can’t help noticing how completely it has been cut. There are three private rooftop baths (40 minutes for 1,100 yen). During daytime they are fully visible from surrounding buildings, so nighttime is recommended for women. Meals follow an old-fashioned style: most dishes are set out from the start and are fine at room temperature. Later, a boat platter of sashimi—one per person—was brought out as the highlight!? I felt sashimi at a Numazu Port lunch spot would be fresher. Hot dishes were sukiyaki hot pot and grilled dancing abalone; however, the abalone had a fishy smell and wasn’t very good, so I left it. Nothing stood out in either presentation or taste. While we were at dinner, futons were laid out in our Room. In my experience they usually replace used tea sets at that time as well, but despite being an established Ryokan there was no replacement—leaving me with a poor impression of hospitality—and everything was left on the table. After dinner I wanted to relax with tea in the Room, but it was disappointing having to wash things myself. They put away our futons during breakfast but still did not replace the tea set. It was good that they provided a cold-water pitcher. Overall, I rated this Accommodation low for its Onsen, food quality, and service; satisfaction was minimal and I do not feel like returning.

Satisfied.
We were very satisfied with the meals and the service. If I had to mention one point, the round bath felt small compared to the size of the terrace.

The Onsen is nice, but.
The Onsen was nice, but there were not enough handrails, so it was difficult to get in and out; I would like more handrails. The dinner ingredients were not very good. I was satisfied with breakfast.

Retro Showa-era Accommodation
I felt this was a prestigious Accommodation with a long history, where many important guests have stayed in the past. The Room I stayed in was spacious and very comfortable. However, I was surprised that there were so few dishes at dinner... I think I would have been more satisfied if there had been one more item—something like fried food or simmered fish—something that goes well with rice. I thought the overall portion size was good. The sashimi platter was also excellent. Still, it left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. In the bath area, even if it is considered artwork, I wasn’t sure about having nude female statues on display these days. The bath water itself felt very pleasant.

Thank you for a luxurious stay.
Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. Thanks to you, I was able to enjoy a luxurious escape from everyday life. Everyone’s thoughtfulness was truly outstanding. First, I was surprised that you prepared such a gorgeous corner Room with two connected rooms. Also, the bath was almost too luxurious—I thoroughly enjoyed it. As for dinner, the most delicious dish was the grilled beef yakiniku. It was tender and incredibly tasty. However, since this is Nishi-Izu, I would have liked more seafood. The quality of the sashimi was disappointing. I didn’t need the hot pot; I would have preferred something like simmered fish instead. Because it’s Nishi-Izu, I wanted you to showcase more seafood—I wanted to see Nishi-Izu pride in that sense. That’s just my personal preference. But breakfast was perfect—the dried horse mackerel was excellent. This breakfast really soothed me, and I even had a second serving of rice. There was also chilled water in the Room—this kind of small service made me happy. In the morning, I bought some dried fish in front of the front desk and really appreciated it. My complaint about dinner is minor—I'd almost feel bad criticizing this Accommodation at all. Above all, what mattered most was how cheerful and kind all of your staff were—that meant everything to me. Thank you very much; I may be switching from being a Hakone person to a Nishi-Izu person now!

Renovated Traditional Ryokan in West Izu
I was completely satisfied with the service, room, meals, and Onsen. The natural hot spring water was of high quality and abundant, and the cave open-air bath was especially warming. The meals were luxurious, the attentive service was much appreciated, and the room had a fresh and elegant design. This Ryokan, loved by numerous former prime ministers, literary figures, and cultural icons throughout history, exudes a sense of tradition. The value for money was exceptional to the point of being deeply moving.

We had a very satisfying dinner.
We decided to visit Izu on short notice and made a reservation after reading reviews praising the delicious food. The portions were just right for a couple in their 60s, and everything was absolutely delicious. The sukiyaki, in particular, had a slightly sweet flavor that perfectly matched our taste. We look forward to visiting again in a different season to enjoy new flavors.

Enjoy a Ryokan-Style Stay with Traditional Meals.
We stayed here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Despite the short notice, they kindly prepared a birthday cake for us. A confirmation call beforehand allowed us to head there with peace of mind. The facility has a charm that reflects its history and the passage of time, but it is well-maintained and thoroughly cleaned, giving an impression of careful preservation. Rather than being overly glamorous like foreign-owned accommodations, this unique charm tells the story of this accommodation's history, which I found very comforting. Although we had to give up on using the rooftop open-air bath due to strong winds, the large public bath was filled with clear water and seemed meticulously cleaned. Above all else, I was amazed by how luxurious and abundant the meals were for such a reasonable price! The dishes featured plenty of local ingredients and were so satisfying that I couldn't even finish my post-meal cake because I was so full! Additionally—though I'm not entirely sure—the manager or head server provided such pleasant service (I particularly remember them quietly clapping behind the curtain when bringing out the birthday cake). It made me want to support them in some way; more importantly, it made me want to stay here again someday. This accommodation is highly recommended for Japanese guests seeking quiet and enriching moments. Oh, just one thing—I think it might be better not to stick allergy notes directly on tables!

Good Onsen
The Onsen was excellent. It offers natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source and is accessible all night, with various types of baths to enjoy. The meals were great value for the price. The staff provided exceptional hospitality and service.

Traditional Ryokan
We stayed at the accommodation during the New Year holidays. We arrived around 1:30 PM due to avoiding traffic, but the place was completely dark, and no one was available to assist us with luggage storage. Therefore, we recommend arriving at the check-in time of 3:00 PM. Dinner had a variety of dishes, and the fresh fish was enjoyable. However, breakfast felt a bit lacking in comparison. Since it was New Year's Day morning, we were expecting a special holiday menu but found it to be quite similar to regular offerings. When using the large public bath after 11:00 PM, there were many hairs floating in the water which made us uncomfortable and leave immediately; this experience discouraged us from using it again in the morning. It was disappointing as we chose this ryokan for its onsen experience. The sink area and nearby spaces were wet and not very clean; more frequent cleaning would be appreciated. Additionally, having water available for guests after bathing at all times would be helpful.

Traditional Ryokan
Due to multiple expansions of this historic Ryokan, there are many stairs within the facility. Notably, accessing the special annex room requires climbing about 20 steps, and I lost count of how many times I went up and down during my stay. Additionally, when using the private rooftop open-air bath, the water temperature was not properly adjusted and was scaldingly hot. I ended up using it again in the morning, but unfortunately missed out on the sunset view that is a highlight of this Ryokan as sunrise is on the opposite side. That said, everything else—front desk service, luxury of the special room, and meal quality—was impeccable. It’s just a pity to have missed that sunset from the open-air bath.

The customer service...
The customer service was very satisfying. The Onsen in the room was excellent, and I used it multiple times. However, the meals felt very pre-made and did not provide a sense of satisfaction. I couldn't believe this course represented the best cuisine of this Ryokan. Next time, I would like to use the No Meals Included option and dine outside instead.

Calm and serene.
This was my first visit. While many Hotels and Ryokans have been renovated to adopt a buffet style in recent times, I appreciated the private dining rooms here. The meals were delicious and satisfying in quantity. Unlike many places that rely on written menus, each dish was explained individually, and the service was attentive. I also found it pleasant that many of the staff at the car stop, front desk, and those guiding us to our Room were older individuals—perhaps because I am older myself? The building has an old design with steps and stairs, but it has charm and provided a calming atmosphere. If possible, please maintain this current style without being swayed by trends over time.

Traditional Ryokan
The Room was spacious and beautifully renovated in a modern Japanese style, though climbing the steep stairs was challenging. For the bath, during the day, women could only use a small indoor bath and an open-air bath, which were crowded from check-in until dinner time, with even washing spots being fully occupied. On the other hand, men had access to three open-air baths with plenty of washing areas. It felt unfair that women could only use smaller baths during prime hours. A rotation or time-sharing system would be appreciated. The meals were average for a Ryokan; nothing particularly good or bad stood out. The only notable seafood near the ocean was abalone. The pillows were flat and small, making it hard to sleep comfortably. A staff member who guided us to our room mentioned that this is an old Ryokan—and indeed it felt like one!
