    Bath Temperature

    This was my first stay at Gahama Terrace, and the lounge service, cuisine, room, and staff were all excellent. It was an accommodation that my family would love to visit again. However, the large bath at the neighboring Seikai Resort had a sign indicating "lukewarm water for summer," and both the indoor bath and open-air bath felt colder than a heated pool. Fortunately, our room had its own onsen bath where we could enjoy warm water, but having only the jacuzzi warm didn’t quite give us the full onsen experience. Since it had just stopped raining that day and the outside temperature was low, it might be nice if adjustments could be made depending on the day—such as heating either the indoor or outdoor baths more.

    The best meals ever.

    The Room was spacious, and the meals were absolutely delicious. After enjoying lunch at the Hotel, we completed check-in procedures at 1:30 PM and relaxed in the lounge before starting drinks at 2 PM. Later, we sweated it out in the sauna before having dinner. The private dining experience was relaxing, with exceptional sashimi and shabu-shabu being particularly delightful. Breakfast included individually cooked rice pots, and unlimited champagne refills in the morning added to our satisfaction. However, while moving to the large public bath via cart service was kind, it felt a bit hot—this was the only downside to an otherwise perfect stay.

    Good.

    Since it is a complex building, the front desk was a bit hard to find at first. Well, I did arrive a little early. The Room was on the top floor and very nice. It was spacious with a well-thought-out layout, and I loved the wooden materials used—it suited my taste perfectly. The price was reasonable, and the quality of this luxurious Room could easily rival those in big cities. The meals were great too! I would love to come back again.

    It was the best trip ever.

    We stayed here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room at Gahama Tower. First, we were impressed by the excellent interior design and the perfect balance of Japanese and Western styles. The staff were polite, friendly, and approachable, making us feel very relaxed. Both the large public bath and the private open-air bath in our room offered stunning views, and my husband was especially impressed by the view from the sauna. For dinner, we chose Western cuisine paired with wine—it was perfect. Breakfast was also delicious and satisfying in every way. We would love to stay at this accommodation again. Thank you very much!

    I stayed at the Gard...

    I stayed at the Garden Villa. It had a private pool, which was enjoyable. The room was spacious enough to relax comfortably. The provided attire was a yukata, but I would have preferred a separate type. Additionally, having nightwear available would have been nice. The accommodation was excellent overall.

    We stayed here to celebrate my father's recovery and create family memories. Although it started raining upon our arrival, the staff promptly greeted us with umbrellas, ensuring a smooth check-in and guiding us to our Room. The Room, meals, private open-air bath, and the attentive service from the staff were all absolutely satisfying. The meals, in particular, were plentiful for both breakfast and dinner and incredibly delicious—we were beyond satisfied! For my father with weak legs, the private open-air bath was perfect as he could relax while enjoying a serene view of the ocean. We created wonderful memories during our stay. We would love to visit again!

    Well-equipped lounge

    I visited after a long time. The lounge was as enjoyable and well-equipped as ever. Although the champagne had been replaced with cava, the cava was also delicious. I would love to visit again, but it might be difficult due to the distance and the fact that the reasonable Plan is non-refundable.

    Disappointing Open-Air Bath

    Stayed in a Seaside Maisonette (Japanese-Western style room). It was a detached two-story accommodation right by the sea. While the open-air bath and the terrace on the second floor were nice, there was one issue... Meals were served in private rooms, and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely satisfying. Now, about the open-air bath and terrace... Since it's located right by the sea, sand fleas appear. It's understandable given its proximity to the ocean, but still disappointing. Everything else was so great that it feels like a missed opportunity. I did come up with my own countermeasures; no insects appeared while I was bathing. However, when I checked back later, I saw a few crawling on walls or floors. My solution is to pour hot water vigorously across the entire floor of the open-air bath several times—especially targeting gaps—to keep them away for some time. Insects die at around 50°C (122°F), so I used hot water from the faucet to deal with them thoroughly. Well, after all, we humans are intruding on their natural habitat!

    Relax and enjoy the stunning ocean view while lounging on the balcony sofa.

    Relax on a shaded sofa bed while enjoying the sea breeze—an ideal environment to unwind on the last day of a long vacation. The meals were all delicious, and I was particularly impressed by the inclusion of premium Japanese sake in the all-inclusive package. It would have been even better if there was access to Netflix or Amazon Prime on the TV, as well as a refrigerator, but overall, it was an excellent stay!

    Wonderful detached Room, bath, and meals

    The accommodation on the second day of our family trip to Kyushu after 10 years was amazing... We enjoyed welcome drinks and light snacks, and the detached room featured a rock bath that opened up to an open-air Onsen... The natural hot spring water was so relaxing, and the meals were exceptional... The breakfast buffet was of high quality, making it a place we would love to visit again when we come back to Beppu Onsen.

    A relaxing accommodation.

    The staff were all polite, friendly, and provided excellent service. I stayed here for a birthday celebration, and they arranged the cake on time with great attention to detail. With fewer guest rooms, the accommodation was not crowded, allowing for a relaxing stay (weekday visit). Overall, I would rate it 5 stars; however, if I had to point out something, the breakfast felt slightly below the standard of the accommodation's quality. It might be because it was shared with Harumi accommodation guests—I'm not sure—but since everything else was excellent, breakfast was just a little underwhelming. That said, even with this minor issue in mind, it’s such an amazing accommodation that I’d love to visit again!

    Wheelchair users can also enjoy it thoroughly.

    We traveled with a companion who has difficulty walking and used a wheelchair during our stay. Thanks to your thoughtful attention to every detail, we had the most wonderful trip. The spacious room, the open sea view, the Onsen that made our skin smooth, and the delicious meals were all exceptional. Thank you so much. I will be undergoing surgery soon. After the surgery, I plan to work hard on rehabilitation and walk again so we can visit once more. We are looking forward to it. Thank you for your kind consideration despite being busy.

    Impressive dining experience

    It was a very satisfying Hotel. The Room was spacious, with a closet room, making it comfortable for our 2-night Multiple Night Stay trip with 4 adults and children. We could neatly store our luggage, which added to the comfort. The meals were served at perfect timing and were incredibly delicious, leaving us impressed. This is a Hotel I would recommend to acquaintances as well.

    It was excellent.

    I stayed during my onsen-hopping trip in Oita. The ocean-view room was a maisonette with an open-air bath and two bedrooms, allowing for a very relaxing stay. The view from the room was stunning, with both the sunrise over the horizon and the setting sun being beautiful. The baths included both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was buffet-style with a wide variety of delicious options. The staff were attentive and made it a wonderful trip. I hope to visit again if I have the chance!

    The breakfast is excellent.

    I was surprised that more than half of the staff were foreigners, but they were all fluent in Japanese and very kind. The breakfast included not only standard items but also creative menu options, and everything was delicious. The Room was incredibly spacious, almost luxurious, which made my family very happy. To access the large public bath and breakfast venue at the neighboring group Hotel, you need to cross one separate establishment. While they kindly offered a cart ride for this purpose, it felt a bit excessive and made me feel slightly apologetic—this might be the only downside.

    I had a relaxing vac...

    I had a relaxing vacation. The detached Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The SEIKAI public bath featured an infinity design, and the view was fantastic as the weather was great. We dined out for dinner, so we only had the breakfast buffet. The variety of dishes was excellent, and the seating area was spacious and comfortable. Regarding the club lounge, having a designated area for children might better cater to guests seeking a more tranquil experience.

    First stay with a fa...

    First stay with a family of three. We enjoyed a relaxing time in the two-bedroom (two-floor) accommodation with an open-air bath. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. (The rice was freshly cooked in front of us, and any leftovers were made into rice balls!) We would love to stay here again when visiting Beppu. (We'll be staying again next week!)

    Accommodation to Revisit

    Stayed at Gahama Tower with three people. Upon arrival at the accommodation, the response from the parking guide slightly diminished our expectations for this accommodation. However, everything changed with the excellent service from the front desk staff! The room, view, and meals were all satisfying, allowing us to relax and unwind. Although it might have been our misunderstanding, we thought futons would be laid out for us. Laying them out ourselves after returning from dinner was a bit inconvenient; it would have been better to do it before dinner. This has definitely become one of the accommodations we want to revisit!

    Shuttle Service to Breakfast Venue

    The Shuttle Service felt a bit unorganized. Even while waiting for the shuttle cart at the front desk, there were instances of not being called or being ignored, which could be an issue. The breakfast was also quite average without any standout features.

    Outdated overall (not updated or refreshed).

    The room's equipment (such as the TV) was outdated, which was very disappointing. The hairdryer also seemed to be a cheaper model, not matching the hotel's grade. I hope improvements can be made in finer details instead of relying solely on the location and Onsen. I stayed in the Tower building, but moving to the large public bath and dining area felt quite far. The Onsen, as expected from Beppu Onsen, was excellent.

    Used for her birthday gift.

    This was my first stay at the accommodation! I wanted to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, so I requested assistance with receiving a cake and borrowing a knife. The staff kindly accommodated all our requests and adjustments, which was very helpful. The all-you-can-eat and drink service was delightful, and we ended up indulging a bit too much. A-san at the entrance provided wonderful service as well, which made my girlfriend very happy. It seems we can't be satisfied anywhere else but here now! (Haha)

    Everything was perfe...

    Everything was perfect. The facility, meals, and service (hospitality) were all excellent. For example, when I inquired about dining out, I received a prompt and courteous response. There were many other thoughtful touches as well. It was an accommodation I would definitely like to visit again.

    Relax...

    I had a very relaxing and satisfying stay. The location allowed me to fully enjoy the ocean, and the meals were delicious. The weather was nice, but it was slightly disappointing that the view was hazy due to PM or yellow dust. The next morning was also a bit hazy, but I got to see a sunrise that felt different from usual. I enjoyed tea in the lounge and spent some relaxing time there... I was so satisfied with the bath in my Room that I missed visiting the large public bath (laughs). Additionally, I appreciated how an old villa has been preserved; this time, I took my time exploring Shōhaen Garden. The nostalgic irimoya-style building was truly wonderful.

    Excellent Accommodation

    We stayed in two villa-side Rooms for a three-generation family trip. Both Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the onsen baths were excellent. The pool was impressive. For meals, we dined at Kappo Matsuhide for both breakfast and dinner, where the refined cuisine exceeded our expectations with its delicious flavors. The lounge was luxurious with a great atmosphere and stunning views. The foreign staff members worked diligently, leaving a very positive impression. However, there were some minor issues with the Room that we pointed out in the survey provided. We hope these will be addressed promptly as it affected our overall rating slightly. Additionally, while the beds were very large and comfortable, it was a bit disappointing that only one pillow was provided per bed.
