    This is my regular Accommodation.

    Beppu for the first time in a year—and GAHAMA Terrace. Nothing to complain about; we had a very comfortable stay. I really do love this place. I also love the view from the maisonette—being at eye level with the sea is wonderful—but it might be better if the plants were trimmed a bit. I know they grow back quickly in summer, so it may be difficult, but from inside, having the ocean fill the entire window is simply perfect. We’ll visit again when it gets cooler. GAHAMA is amazing, and Beppu is amazing too.

    Enjoy a luxuriously designed Hotel

    On the second day of our Golden Week trip to Beppu, we stayed one night in a GAHAMA Tower Japanese-Western Room with the “GAHAMA 10th Anniversary Special Kaiseki Featuring Seki Aji and Oita Wagyu” Plan. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit disappointing—heavy rain on arrival day, then sunshine the next day. Since there was no Shuttle Service available, we got around by rental car. First of all, I was amazed by how spacious the Room was. The large living area with a great view, the tatami room, and the relaxing bedroom were all separate spaces. It was also very convenient that the closet area included a dedicated makeup room. We enjoyed the bath with a nice view as well, but because check-in ended up being late, it was a shame we couldn’t make it to the large public bath at “AMANE RESORT SEIKAI” next door. Well, we’ll be sure to visit there on our next stay. Dinner was an upgraded course featuring Seki Aji and charcoal-grilled Oita Wagyu filet—pretty much as good as expected. Breakfast, including their signature ryukyu dish, was also delicious. We didn’t get to spend much time in the lounge with complimentary drinks including alcohol, but it was spacious and quiet, which was great. We also visited the bar and enjoyed various Facility offerings as well. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying stay.

    It far exceeded my expectations.

    We visited from Saitama Prefecture. Our Room was in a separate annex, and the in-room bath featured free-flowing hot spring water direct from the source. The staff provided attentive service. We thoroughly enjoyed the welcome drinks—along with alcohol, light snacks, and beautiful ocean views—in the dedicated lounge. The cuisine was exceptional as well. Although it is a bit far from the Kanto area, this has become one of the Accommodations we would love to visit again.

    The meals were very ...

    The meals were very delicious, and the Room was spacious, so we were satisfied. However, it was disappointing that there was no large public bath, and although the photos shown during the Reservation made it look like the Room faced the sea, in reality it was surrounded by walls.

    It was a comfortable trip!

    We stayed as a group of three and used a suite with two twin Rooms plus a living room. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and the living room looked out onto the garden with access to step outside. It also had a walk-in closet. The best part by far was the in-room Onsen bath. I’m 182 cm tall, and even stretching my legs out fully, I still couldn’t reach the other end of the tub. The water temperature was perfect. The vanity area was also wide and easy to use. Two sets of towels were provided, along with bathrobes. We were told we could also use the large public bath at the neighboring group Hotel, but we were more than satisfied with the in-room Onsen. I traveled with my 94-year-old mother, and when we mentioned she has difficulty sitting on the floor, they kindly prepared a slightly higher bath chair for her. We truly appreciated the staff’s thoughtful care. There is also a complimentary lounge in the Tower building offering wine, beer, snacks, and other refreshments. We chose Japanese cuisine for dinner and were very satisfied with both quality and portion size—especially the four kinds of fresh sashimi, spiny lobster gratin with sea urchin miso, and Oita Wagyu suki-shabu. The other dishes were also creatively prepared, and since we dined in a private room, we really enjoyed our meal. Beppu has many long-established Ryokan where you can enjoy various Onsen baths and great food as part of sightseeing, but this stay exceeded our expectations. We would love to return again.     Memories from 10 Years Ago

    Because we had such wonderful memories of staying at Shiosai no Yado (a property in the same group) 10 years ago, we decided to try Gahama Terrace this time, which was still under construction back then. The Room and the private open-air bath in the Room were excellent. However, although it is not mentioned much on YouTube or in Reviews, the listing says you can also use the large public bath at Shiosai no Yado “next door.” In reality, there is a large Nitori store between Gahama Terrace and Shiosai no Yado, so calling it “next door” is not accurate. We assumed they were on the same grounds, and having to walk past Nitori to get to the bath was quite disappointing. The food at the dining venue was delicious. However, it was served incredibly fast. We usually eat quickly and still often have some waiting time between courses elsewhere, but here the next dish arrived before we had finished—placed right in front of us with a bang—so we had no choice but to have our current plates cleared. It felt very rushed. We chose the last seating time, and it honestly made us wonder if they were worried about closing time; if so, perhaps they should simply remove that final seating. As for service: you could say it was competent, but what really stood out was how little energy or cheerfulness there seemed to be among most of the staff. The only people who provided genuinely warm hospitality with a Hotel-like smile were the sommelier at dinner and the man who saw us off at departure. With those Facilities plus meals included at this price, I don’t think it’s expensive at all—but I also didn’t feel it was a stay that left me feeling refreshed or uplifted.

    It’s a wonderful place.

    This is a place I have visited many times. My late husband also often stayed here, as well as at Harumi under the same group. Whenever I come, I am always comforted by the wonderful hospitality, meals, Room, and Onsen. This time, seven of us stayed in two Rooms. I sincerely apologize for any rudeness from some of our party and for making an unreasonable request after checkout, which you kindly accommodated. I am deeply grateful for the Hotel staff’s response.

    The hair dryer is disappointing.

    Overall, it was a comfortable Accommodation, but there were a few points that concerned me. First, regarding the hair dryer: the one provided had a burnt smell, so it was replaced with another dryer (SALONIA). The staff handled this smoothly, which I appreciated. However, since this is not an inexpensive Accommodation, I felt I would have been more satisfied if a higher-quality hair dryer had been provided from the start. As for dining, since we stayed two nights, we had dinner at a Japanese restaurant (Matsuhide) and at a French restaurant. For breakfast, we used Matsuhide and Seika’s buffet. The first breakfast at Matsuhide was good, but at Seika’s buffet on the second morning, many items felt similar to what we had already had for breakfast. That said, the buffet offered more variety overall and was more satisfying. Because there are many good aspects to this Accommodation, I hope to see further improvements in the future.

    We stayed with a chi...

    We stayed with a child and during pregnancy, and the staff flexibly adjusted the serving pace while keeping an eye on our child. They also kindly accommodated changes to the meal (no raw foods, no caffeine), which was very helpful. The Room was separated into a bedroom and living area, so even after our child fell asleep we could relax in the living room without worrying about lights or noise—highly recommended for families with children. The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful, so we would love to stay again.

    I was able to relax and unwind at my own pace.

    It was my first stay in two and a half years. Last time I stayed in the seaside maisonette, but this time I chose the Gahama Tower. As with Harumi, where I’ve stayed several times, the ocean-view balcony and open-air bath make for an amazing experience. The early-morning bath at dawn is especially exceptional. This time I booked a breakfast-only Plan, and Harumi’s breakfast buffet was as satisfying as ever, with a wide variety of options. If I have the chance next time, I’d love to enjoy a meal at Matsuhide. If I had to mention one thing, it felt like the club lounge light snacks (selection) were slightly downgraded compared to last time. I believe many guests—including my wife and me—look forward to this service, so I hope it will improve going forward. Overall, it’s definitely a Hotel you can be satisfied with.

    The jacuzzi is worth it.

    Easy to reach by rental car, and the location is easy to find along the coastline. We arrived before check-in, but they kindly showed us to our Room early. We stayed in a top-floor Room in the tower building with a jacuzzi. The indoor in-room Onsen was quite hot, so the open-air jacuzzi was more comfortable. I think it’s worth paying the extra fee for this alone. My only regret is that the weather wasn’t good, so we couldn’t see their famous sunrise. As for meals, both dinner and breakfast were excellent in both quality and quantity. The additional order of horse mackerel sashimi was also delicious.

    Highly satisfied

    My elderly father and my two daughters (three of us in total) stayed for two nights and three days. We were very satisfied with everything—the service, the Room, the meals, and the baths. However, when we asked about lunch on the second day, I wish we had been advised that a Reservation was required. If there had been nearby restaurants where we could eat, it wouldn’t have been an issue, but we ended up skipping lunch. I believe it’s important to provide proactive service that anticipates different situations. Still, this is a Hotel we would definitely like to stay at again. We look forward to seeing you then.     Thank you very much for your hospitality. This was our first trip with my mother and the children, and we made wonderful memories. The service, Onsen, meals, and the overall atmosphere of the Accommodation were all excellent. My mother would like to stay again for a Multiple Night Stay, so we hope to make another Reservation next time. I do have a couple of concerns I’d like to mention. One of the stone steps inside the bathtub was loose and wobbly; my mother has difficulty walking and nearly lost her balance, which was quite alarming. Also, while washing my face at the sink, I noticed some grime along the inner rim visible in the mirror, which was a bit disappointing. Sorry for being so particular.

    A Hotel I’d Like to Stay at Again

    I stayed in the tower with friends for a class reunion trip. The Room size, Onsen, views, and staff service were all excellent—nothing to complain about. Breakfast was also very delicious. Next time, I’d like to stay here with my family.

    It was excellent.

    Stayed at this hotel as my elderly mother wished to stay here with her grandchildren's family. The hospitality was excellent as always, and the meals at the Japanese restaurant were incredibly delicious and satisfying! The Onsen in the room was also very relaxing. What stood out the most was the lounge. When we arrived after 2 PM, the staff guided us to the lounge where we enjoyed light snacks and drinks, which helped relieve our travel fatigue.

    Positive Points: - Stayed at Gahama Tower; the room was spacious and very clean. - The private open-air bath in the room was large, had a great view, and allowed for temperature adjustment, which was very satisfying. - Access to the large public bath at the neighboring sister accommodation was excellent. Shuttle service was provided without any waiting time. The open-air bath there was spacious with an amazing view. - Dinner at the counter featured seasonal local ingredients and was incredibly delicious. - The lounge offered a wide variety of snacks and drinks, which were highly satisfying. Points of Concern: - While not bad, it would be nice if the quality of the hairdryer could be improved slightly. - There were no welcome drinks or sweets provided. Although the free lounge had a good selection, most accommodations offer something upon arrival, so this felt a bit disappointing. - Traveling to the sister accommodation for using their public bath can feel chilly during winter months despite having down jackets available; feet get cold when wearing yukata. - Breakfast felt ordinary compared to dinner, which stood out as exceptional; it lacked uniqueness or excitement in its menu options. - My name was mispronounced several times by multiple staff members despite their otherwise excellent service—this left me feeling slightly disappointed. - Despite informing about dietary restrictions beforehand and being assured they would accommodate them, some items were forgotten and served as is. These concerns are minor details I had to think hard about mentioning. Overall, it was an excellent stay that makes me want to return again—thank you!

    It was as expected, or even better.

    Stayed on the 9th floor of Gahama Tower. The room was impressively spacious, with a breathtaking ocean view right in front. Both the sofa and the chairs in the Japanese-style room were extremely comfortable. The Japanese dinner was absolutely delicious, every dish was perfect. The staff's service was excellent, making it a definite repeat for us. It’s worth every penny. Thank you very much!

    I was deeply moved.

    This was my first time staying here. I discovered this Hotel through highly positive reviews on social media. We chose the one-night stay with breakfast Plan, and the Room's spaciousness and private open-air bath were excellent, allowing us to relax comfortably. However, regarding the public bath at Harumi, it was a bit disappointing to have to pass through the adjacent Nitori parking lot to get there. It felt like being momentarily brought back to reality, and making eye contact with Nitori customers felt slightly awkward. For breakfast, we walked over to Harumi next door for their buffet. The food was very delicious, and we enjoyed it until closing time with great satisfaction. In terms of service, while we were guided courteously upon arrival, it would have been perfect if we had been seen off at our car upon departure; that part was a little disappointing. I would love to stay here again if I have another opportunity!

    It was absolutely the best.

    I stayed here with my family in April and had a great experience, so this time I came with four friends. We chose the same tower for our room as last time. With only two rooms per floor, it felt almost like having the entire floor to ourselves, allowing us to relax without worrying about others. Last time, we enjoyed the Teppanyaki Counter Plan for one group per day, but this time we opted for Japanese cuisine at Matsushou and were very satisfied with it as well. And of course, the lounge was a highlight again! As soon as we arrived, we enjoyed some alcoholic beverages together. The aperitifs available in the lounge were so delicious that we couldn’t help but indulge. We look forward to visiting again!

    Family Trip

    Previously stayed with a friend and enjoyed the delicious meals, so decided to stay again for a family trip. The room was thoroughly cleaned and very tidy. Forgot to request the beds to be arranged as Hollywood Twin, so on the first day, we had to push the beds together ourselves. However, by the next day, they were set up seamlessly without any noticeable gap, which was very thoughtful and impressive. It was hot in summer, and we had to cut our sightseeing short, but being able to use the lounge even before check-in was great. The meals were enjoyable except for some fatty cuts of meat.

    It exceeded expectations.

    The Hotel is located on a busy main street, and at first, I thought I might have made a mistake. However, once inside, it was incredibly quiet and offered a very relaxing atmosphere. The interior design reflects sincere respect for architecture and art, which made me feel warm and comfortable. The meals seemed slightly tailored to foreign guests, which felt a bit unfamiliar for someone from Kansai like me. However, the ingredients were of high quality and used with great care. The portions were quite large; unfortunately, I got full midway through the meal and couldn't fully enjoy the delicious meat. The open-air bath in the Room was heavenly. It was exceptionally clean with natural Onsen water flowing directly into it. Since the temperature is adjusted right before you enter, you can feel the pure power of the Onsen more directly than anywhere else I've experienced. Soaking in while gazing at the ocean brought immense happiness. The Hotel staff were kind yet maintained an unobtrusive presence that ensured an extremely comfortable experience overall. I will definitely visit again!

    It was amazing!

    It was amazing. We stayed at a Ryokan with a pool to create wonderful family memories, and the kids loved it. As soon as we arrived, the staff came to assist us right away, which made us feel at ease. From the moment we entered, it felt like a relaxing space. The Room was very satisfying. Both the pool and bath were excellent. The meals featured fresh seafood, including sashimi, and were very filling. My husband surprised me by ordering a cake in advance, and it was brought out at just the right timing. We also enjoyed working out at the gym and exploring historical buildings nearby—it made for an enjoyable walk too! Even after returning home, our family keeps talking about how much we want to visit again someday. Thank you so much!

    It was excellent.

    We visited with my parents for Respect for the Aged Day. Since they are elderly, traveling can be challenging, but we were kindly accommodated with a wheelchair. The Room was spacious, allowing us to relax and enjoy a luxurious time. The food was delicious, and my parents were very happy, making it a wonderful experience of filial piety. We would love to visit again!

    The best glamping experience ever!

    During our stay, there was a temporary inconvenience with the bathroom hot water. However, thanks to the staff's prompt and courteous response, we were able to continue our stay without significant dissatisfaction. The most memorable aspect was the spacious and sophisticated room with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. It offered a luxurious space with breathtaking views of nature, allowing us to fully enjoy an extraordinary experience. While there is room for improvement in some facilities, overall, it is an excellent accommodation that provided high satisfaction.

    Relaxing Resort Hotel
