    I was able to refresh and recharge.

    We stayed in a spacious Japanese-style twin Room in the annex, and it was conveniently located right after getting off the elevator. The Room was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and we were very comfortable. Dinner was a kaiseki meal served in a private dining room, so we could relax and enjoy plenty of drinks together at our own pace. Both the fish and meat dishes were delicious and easy to eat. The staff member assisting us was kind and provided wonderful service. Since I have some concerns about my legs and felt uneasy going to the large public bath alone, reserving a private bath was absolutely the right choice. All Hotel staff were polite and friendly, and we were very satisfied. We would love to stay again.

    This was my first stay.

    This was my first stay. First, the place we stayed this time was the main building. It is an older building, and due to age there were some areas where the floors were not completely level. However, the room was carefully cleaned and felt very clean. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style. Unlike some other Hotels, it wasn’t very crowded, so I had time to look for what I wanted to eat. All of the food was delicious and I was very satisfied. As for the large public bath, depending on where you sit there are both newly renovated fixtures and older ones. If you use the older ones, you may want to be careful because adjusting the water temperature is quite sensitive. The bath promotes its gorge view, but perhaps because it was August, it was covered in greenery and we couldn’t really see it. Also, all of the staff were very kind and left a great impression. Next time, I’d like to try staying in an annex or a detached room as well.

    We stayed at the Kaw...

    We stayed at the Kawane Annex with our family of four during summer vacation, before the Obon holidays. The view from the Room was simply amazing—nothing but mountains and a river. With two spacious Japanese-style rooms, even four adults could relax comfortably. There is a slightly long corridor to the main building, but the carpet is plush and it’s air-conditioned, so it didn’t feel like a hassle at all. The Onsen manju provided in the Room were delicious—we bought them right away as souvenirs! The Onsen left our skin feeling moisturized and was wonderful. The spacious lounge can be used not only at check-in but also after check-out, so you can unwind with complimentary drinks in a relaxed setting. We have stayed at other Accommodations in Ashinomaki Onsen, but we regretted not staying two nights at Marumine. Excellent value for money! We would love to come back again.

    It was very good.

    Although it was a last-minute trip, we had a very comfortable stay at this Hotel. The dinner buffet was excellent—Aizu local specialties and everything else were all delicious. My husband said it was the best buffet of any Hotel we have stayed at while traveling. The bath was also spacious and clean. We had a wonderful stay.

    Staying Again After Several Years

    I had some business in the Aizu area and stayed overnight for the first time in a while. I was looking forward to this stay because I had loved the view from the open-air bath in my Room last time, and because meals had changed to a buffet. Even though I mentioned in my Reservation that I had stayed before, being asked at check-in, “Is this your first visit?” was a bit disappointing. Still, since it had been several years, I let it go. However, when I got to the Room, the view from the open-air bath I’d been looking forward to was unfortunately blocked by trees. I debated whether I should just give up on the view, but since I knew how it used to be, I couldn’t. When I consulted the front desk, they confirmed that an identical Room type was available and that I had noted the view at the time of Reservation, and they changed my Room for me—so that was a relief. Then another issue came up: water wouldn’t fill the open-air bath in the Room. The front desk assisted again, and it felt like an ultimate choice between keeping the view or having a usable bath. Also, the shower room drain before going out to the open-air bath didn’t drain at all, so we used it while letting water run outside. A few years ago I didn’t notice this level of aging Facilities, so this time was truly disappointing. However, what helped was how hard the front desk staff worked to come up with alternatives and support us. The Reservation staff also replied quickly, which was very helpful. It’s a Ryokan I like very much, so next time I hope for a smoother stay.

    Staying with Pets

    It was a spacious, relaxing Room. It was more than enough for our small dog. The sofa was roomy, so we could stretch out and watch TV. Access to the Room was a bit hard to understand at the last lattice sliding door. When I peeked in, there was a restroom sign, so I kept wondering if it was the entrance to the restroom and went back and forth a few times. I think it would be helpful to have a sign with the Room name on the wall by that final lattice sliding door leading to the Room. After going back and looking at the floor map, we both laughed and said, “Oh!” It really does look like the restroom entrance. Meals were buffet-style. Everything was delicious, and I think they make great snacks for those who drink alcohol. We used the large public bath many times, and my companion especially liked the ancient cypress bath. There is also a spacious lounge next to the front desk, and it was great too. There’s a coffee machine, and drinks are free-flow. The iced cocoa was genuinely delicious, so I recommend it.

    Staying with Your Dog

    We stayed for two nights and three days with our dog. The Room was spacious and clean, and we were able to spend a very comfortable time. On the other hand, there were some disappointing points about dinner (in-room dining). Dinner was served in a two-tiered bento box, with hot dishes on the top tier and cold dishes on the bottom tier. However, on the first day, both the hot and cold dishes had become lukewarm. The sashimi and abalone were watery, the main fish dish was dry, and the simmered dish did not seem well seasoned. On the second day, however, hot dishes were served hot and cold dishes cold, and we enjoyed every dish. It seemed there was a major event on the first day, so they may have been very busy. Even so, I think simple measures—such as carrying hot and cold items separately—could have made a big difference in how the food arrived. Most of the staff were pleasant. In particular, at dinner on the second day—although meals are normally handed over at the entrance—they offered to serve it in our Room. We declined because our dog tends to bark, but we appreciated their thoughtfulness. Because we were satisfied with both the Room and overall stay environment, it was especially disappointing that dinner on the first day fell short. We hope to see improvements going forward.

    We stayed in a room with an open-air bath overlooking the river. The view from the bath and both the breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent. We would love to stay again.

    Stayed on 5/20 in two rooms (12-tatami and 6-tatami) on the 5th floor. The Accommodation’s garden was very beautiful and a delight to see. The building was also thoroughly cleaned, so we were able to spend our time comfortably.

    The Onsen is great.

    When I’m tired, I use the business package as a solo Onsen getaway. There are several Onsen baths, and it’s rarely crowded, so I can relax and soak at my own pace. After that, a massage helps relieve my fatigue and lets me sleep soundly. The breakfast buffet the next morning is also excellent—I end up eating too much. Overall, it offers great value for money.

    If you’re staying in Ashinomaki Onsen

    If you’re staying in Ashinomaki Onsen, Marumine Kanko Hotel is highly recommended. The Rooms with an open-air bath overlooking the river are especially amazing. From check-in to check-out, you can fully enjoy free-flowing Onsen in your Room while taking in the view of the mountain stream. The dinner and breakfast buffets also offer a wide variety of dishes, including local specialties—so you’ll leave absolutely stuffed (laughs). The staff are always kind and attentive, and every time I stay here I feel truly happy that I chose this Hotel. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

    This was my second stay, and I enjoyed the Marumine kaiseki meal. When I mentioned that I can’t eat sashimi, they prepared an alternative dish for me—thank you very much. If I had one suggestion, it might be nice to pay a bit more attention to the plates and presentation. That said, I truly appreciated being able to enjoy seasonal ingredients at this price point. On the main building side, there was no basket to take to the large public bath, which was inconvenient (from a female guest’s perspective). It would be perfect if one were provided.

    Family Trip

    We stayed for one night on a family trip. The dinner buffet was very delicious. The steak was the best I’ve ever had at a Hotel buffet. There were also so many dishes that we couldn’t try everything. We tried the local dish “Kozuyu” for the first time, and it was very tasty. For some reason, the meat sauce was especially good and became our child’s favorite. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the meals. The Room was cleaned well, but it does feel old. Also, we found a toothpick that had fallen into a gap in the tatami mats. It’s easy to miss, but since children roll around on the floor, please be careful in the future. The tap water in the Room smelled of iron, but I guess that can’t be helped. We didn’t have any bugs in our Room, which was a relief (lol). The large public bath also feels old, but the bathtub is quite big and very relaxing. The sauna seemed to fit about eight people and wasn’t crowded, which was great. The open-air bath has almost no view. These days many Onsen Accommodations have partitions so you can’t enjoy any scenery at all anyway. If that’s the case, I’d rather they didn’t force an outdoor tub and instead added lots of chairs outside as a place to relax after using the sauna. By the way, there is table tennis in front of the large public bath area; if it’s available you can use it for free, so our kids were very happy—we ended up playing about four times during our stay. Also, my wife mentioned that there weren’t many amenities. We were very satisfied with the food overall. Considering the price, I think this is an Accommodation with great value and high satisfaction. If possible, it would be nice if there were more kid-friendly drink options in the lobby drinks area as well—such as orange juice.”

    For your wedding anniversary

    We stayed in the annex for 2 nights and 3 days. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the Room we stayed in was clean—making it a perfect wedding anniversary. The buffet included all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink, with a great selection, and we were very satisfied. I ate too much though… haha. As for nearby Facility options, there is only one convenience store; if you drive about 20 minutes, you can find various shops and stores. If I had to point out anything, it would have been nice to have amenities like face towels and floss. Also, it seemed like there were several unused areas of the venue, which felt a bit wasteful. Other than that, nothing in particular. Next time, I’d like to stay in one of the Rooms where dogs are allowed.

    Before our stay, the...

    Before our stay, they kindly called to check on my elderly parents who were staying with us, and on the day as well, all the staff greeted us with smiles and were very helpful. The kaiseki dinner had an impressive number of dishes; everything was beautifully presented, delicious, and we were completely satisfied. The breakfast buffet also offered local specialties, and the smoothies and croissants were especially tasty. However, there were many dead stink bugs scattered inside the lovely washi paper doll diorama; since many guests are likely to notice them, I think it would be better to remove them daily.

    Marumine Kanko Hotel.

    We stayed recently and truly appreciate your hospitality. We had a very comfortable and relaxing time. Our Room was Japanese-style, and we agreed that the Onsen area also had tatami mats. Enjoying tea and manju gave us a wonderful moment to share our gratitude together. Next time, if someone from overseas says “thank you,” I’d like to reply in English, “You’re welcome.” We’re looking forward to autumn.

    We chose the kaiseki course. The dinner featured plenty of seasonal ingredients and was very satisfying. The staff were kind and welcoming, which left a great impression.

    Well-equipped Accommodation

    I stayed with my husband, our dog, my mother, and my aunt. In the lobby, complimentary coffee is available, and you can relax in a calm atmosphere. We used a Room where we could stay with our dog and a Room with a private bath. We were able to unwind comfortably, and it was a wonderful way to treat my mother. Meals were served in a private dining room, and thanks to the attentive care of the staff member in charge, we enjoyed everything very much. I would like to stay again on our next opportunity.

    The view is spectacular.

    We had a wonderful time. In particular, the view from the Room, combined with the snowy scenery, was truly amazing! It seems to be an area with many deciduous trees, so the view looks enjoyable in summer and autumn as well. Also, the large public bath was impressive.

    Best value for money

    We stayed as a couple, and for about the price of one person, we got two meals included! The food was carefully prepared with no shortcuts—everything was delicious! Be careful not to overeat!

    The one-night stay with two meals included was an amazing deal—¥7,920 instead of ¥11,000 (tax included).

    I made a last-minute Reservation for the next day on IKYU Day. Since the plan was originally JPY 11,000 (tax included), I honestly didn’t expect much from the meals, but the buffet was outstanding. (This quality at this price… simply amazing.) No exaggeration—this is unbeatable value for money, easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Done: I’ll be back! Next time, I’d like to try booking for March–April on IKYU Day. Thank you for taking such great care of us.

    Stayed in a semi-ope...

    Stayed in a semi-open-air Room. The temperature settings of both the large public bath and the open-air bath were perfect. While I rated "Onsen/Bath" as 5 above, it would be 10 if possible. Especially the semi-open-air feature of the Room. Surrounded by walls on three sides, it allows just enough breeze to flow through. During an evening soak after dinner, the breeze was pleasant, and despite the hot water temperature, it induced a restful sleep after enjoying the Onsen. During an early morning soak, even though temperatures had dropped and winds had picked up (which should have cooled down the water), surprisingly, it felt hotter than last night—an ideal wake-up bath experience! After breakfast, I bathed again; this time too, the temperature harmonized perfectly with the breeze making me reluctant to leave. This is definitely a place worth returning to!

    Repeat stays welcome.

    I visited for the private open-air bath in the guest room. Both the view and the quality of the hot spring were very satisfying. The only downside was that two raw items at the dinner buffet had a fishy smell. Still, it was a Hotel I would love to visit again!

    Very nice accommodation

    Everything about this accommodation was incredibly comfortable. The staff were all calm and kind, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The facility was very clean, with flowers placed in the hallways and displays of Aizu's history, making every walk through the premises enjoyable. The meals were absolutely delicious. As someone with allergies, I truly appreciated the allergy information provided, which allowed me to eat with peace of mind (unlike some hotels that refuse guests with allergies due to lack of such measures). It was my first time staying in a Japanese-style room with beds, and it was both relaxing and beautifully maintained—an excellent experience overall. The onsen was clean, spacious, and incredibly soothing—a wonderful hot spring experience. From both the room and the onsen, I could enjoy breathtaking views of this year's first snowfall combined with autumn foliage—it was simply stunning! I also requested birthday flowers during my stay; they were fresh and beautiful local blooms from Fukushima that left me deeply moved. I've found an onsen accommodation I definitely want to visit again! Thank you for everything. To all the staff members—please take care as it gets colder outside. Thank you so much!

    The worst accommodation in my life

    Stayed with dinner and breakfast included. Dinner was a buffet featuring local Fukushima cuisine, which was satisfying in that aspect. However, the sushi from the live kitchen felt dry and lacked freshness, with an average taste. The tempura and steak were also just okay—neither great nor bad. Overall, the buffet wasn’t particularly impressive; it felt quite standard. If you go expecting exceptional food, you might be a bit disappointed. After returning to the room to relax, I heard a buzzing sound and found a stink bug... I tried to deal with it but didn’t want to crush it due to the smell, so I called the front desk for assistance. They advised using tape to remove it without causing odor. I decided not to let one bug ruin my stay and headed to the large public bath around 10 PM. It was quiet at that time, allowing me to enjoy a spacious bath peacefully. However, when I returned to my room and prepared for bed, there was suddenly a loud noise near my pillow—it was another stink bug... Once again called the front desk for help but couldn’t stop thinking about comments mentioning this hotel having frequent stink bug issues. This made it hard for me to fall asleep. As soon as I started dozing off again after hearing more buzzing sounds—another stink bug appeared… This cycle repeated several times throughout the night leaving me unable sleep properly! Feeling extremely uncomfortable by morning (around 6 AM), skipped breakfast entirely checked out early instead of waiting longer since restlessness persisted overnight due constant interruptions caused insects presence within accommodation environment itself... Planned sightseeing trip Aizu-Wakamatsu canceled exhaustion lack energy safely drive back home instead prioritizing safety over plans originally intended day ahead schedule ruined experience overall disappointment frustration towards management failure address pest control measures adequately prevent such occurrences future guests alike!

    Stayed with my beloved dog.

    It was great to stay with my beloved dog. My dog scratched the unfamiliar cage several times, and I comforted him each time. The Room and meals were perfect, and it became a wonderful memory. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The building and Fac...

    The building and Facility feel outdated. The air conditioning in the Room is also old, noisy, and ineffective. However, the dinner buffet exceeded expectations with delicious food. Dishes were promptly replenished without running out, and the serving staff worked diligently. Unfortunately, the Shuttle Service driver was extremely rude, making it an unpleasant experience. Additionally, the send-off staff stood idly at the entrance without any effort to assist, which was very disappointing. Please value Japan's "send-off culture."

    An Accommodation Beyond Expectations

    I had always wanted to stay here when visiting the Aizu region, as I was eager to experience the open-air bath in the room and its stunning view. The room's design and the spaciousness of the open-air bath exceeded my expectations, providing an exceptional accommodation experience. Additionally, the private dining with a kaiseki meal was highly satisfying in both quality and quantity. One area for improvement would be reducing delays in service timing, but everything else was perfect. This has become an accommodation I would love to visit again.
