    My spouse and I were able to relax and unwind at our own pace.

    We stayed here before, but this time was even better. Choosing this Hotel to celebrate my husband’s recovery was absolutely the right decision. The Room was very clean, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The Room also had a jet bath, a Dyson fan, and a ReFa hair dryer—everything was excellent. The garden is amazing, and this is a Hotel we definitely want to visit again during the fresh greenery season or autumn foliage season. However, the meals felt more luxurious last time.

    A First-Time Big Win in Kaga

    Thank you for your hospitality. The Room was clean, the meals were delicious, and the spacious garden was beautifully maintained—we were very satisfied. We felt refreshed thanks to the Onsen and spa treatments. We would love to visit again.

    I’m satisfied.

    I’ve been staying here since last year, and this was my third visit. The Room was clean and nice. The lounge had a great selection of alcoholic drinks. However, it was disappointing that the in-room safe battery was dead.

    We had a fulfilling vacation as a couple.

    A luxurious twin Room with a large bed and an open-air bath. We were completely satisfied with everything—the private lounge offering alcoholic drinks, coffee, and chocolates, two large public baths, and the enjoyable corridor strolls. The gym was also free to use, making it a perfect Facility for us as a couple who do light workouts every day. The meals were so plentiful that we couldn’t finish them—sorry for leaving some. If I could make one request, we would have been even happier if there had been some fruit. We’d love to stay in a different Room next time.

    The gardens at Mori ...

    The gardens at Mori no Sumika Resort & Spa were truly beautiful and impeccably maintained in every detail. We also had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful staff. In particular, the female staff member who escorted us to our Room and provided a thorough explanation was exceptionally kind and attentive to our child, for which we are sincerely grateful.

    It was great.

    It was wonderful to have the gym and heated pool all to ourselves. There were two large public baths, and we really enjoyed both. Having a sauna as well was great. At dinner, we were able to do a sake tasting of Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute, and although my spouse and I don’t usually drink much sake, we were impressed by how delicious it was. We also had access to the lounge and spent a lovely time there. Thank you very much.

    I stayed at the annex, Komorebi.

    I used the lounge exclusively for Komorebi guests, but the view from the lounge was not very good. Even though it is surrounded by forest, I wish it had been located in a spot with a better view. Also, canned beer was available, but they were all low-malt beer, which was a bit disappointing.

    Good value for the price.

    I stayed with the Annex seafood & meat grilling course. The Room felt appropriate for the price, but the dining experience was a bit underwhelming. I understood from the start that we would grill the meat and seafood ourselves, but since it was done on a hot plate—likely to reduce smoke—it ended up feeling like something we do at home. I also ordered a celebration cake separately, and they kindly brought it out as a surprise after dinner and even asked, “Would you like to eat it in your Room?” That part was great, but taking it to the Room was self-service. I didn’t expect to walk through the Accommodation carrying a cake box along with a tray holding plates and forks. If this were around ¥20,000–¥30,000 for two people, I could understand that level of service. But considering we paid about twice that, it felt lacking in attentiveness. This is just my personal view, but regarding the Onsen as well: I think access to the Annex Onsen should be limited to guests staying in the Annex only, as it would enhance the sense of exclusivity. Overall, there’s no doubt this is an environment where you can truly relax—the Rooms and Facilities are excellent. However, I’d say both presentation of the food and service are still developing. If I stay again next time, I hope those aspects will have improved even slightly.

    Very dissatisfied with the staff.

    We stayed with our child. The Facility and the Room themselves were great, but there were a few points that concerned us. First, at check-in, while assisting us, a staff member was approached by another guest and switched to helping them without any explanation, and there was no follow-up afterward. It may be a small thing, but it felt lacking in consideration. Next, regarding being shown to our room: it took quite a long time to get there, and since I was carrying my child, it was a bit difficult. We were informed in advance that it would be better not to use a stroller, but as I am also pregnant, I would have appreciated more consideration or alternative suggestions. At dinner, even after pressing the call button, staff did not come for quite some time, so refills of drinks and rice took longer than expected. Our child started getting fussy, and there were times when we had to go and call someone ourselves. Also regarding the course meal, we noticed that the order of dishes served differed from what was listed on the menu. There were even moments when food was served after dessert; since we were looking forward to enjoying the flow of the meal course-by-course, this was disappointing. Overall, we felt that a bit more attention to detail in service would have made for an even better stay. The Room and the private open-air bath were outstanding.

    The atmosphere insid...

    The atmosphere inside the Accommodation was calm, but I did not feel that the meal quality and the management of in-room amenities were worth the price. I had high expectations for the dinner tasting of Noto beef and domestic beef, but the cuts contained an excessive amount of fat with poor balance against lean meat. They were also sliced unnaturally thick, and rather than bringing out umami, the heaviness of the fat stood out. It was not a dish that conveyed a sense of quality. Some of the strawberries served for dessert were clearly spoiled, which gave me the impression that they had not been properly checked before being served. The cake also looked like a ready-made product and did not feel special as a finale. Breakfast the next morning was overall quite simple, with nothing memorable in terms of flavor, and I did not feel satisfied with the meals as a whole given the accommodation price. In addition, there was visible dust on both the air purifier and hair dryer in my room, which made me concerned about hygiene management. I shared these points with them, but their response was limited to an apology; I did not receive any specific explanation or sense of commitment to improvement, which was very disappointing. The Facility’s atmosphere itself is not bad, which makes it all the more concerning that there are major issues with quality control and how concerns are handled. I do not think I would return.

    It was great to stay here.

    Despite the heavy snow, the service was excellent. I had a great experience last summer as well, and the winter scenery was beautiful. Although it was cold outside, I was very satisfied.

    It was cold.

    The Hotel was amazing, but it was inconvenient without power outlets near the bed. The Room was spacious and lovely, but it felt cold. There’s a step when going to the bedroom area, and I kept bumping into it—hope that can be improved. The restaurant staff member was incredibly kind; I wish I had asked for her name. She was a wonderful and pleasant lady, making the dining experience enjoyable. The shuttle driver was also very polite and left a great impression!

    It was a top-ranked Resort Hotel.

    The location is fantastic, sparking excitement from the moment you approach the entrance. The room bath and large public bath were impressively warm and well-considered, even in winter. (Unlike many other hotels where there are often temperature differences.) Of course, the meals were delicious and freshly prepared each time. This is a popular accommodation that's hard to book, but I would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    Overall, it was good.

    Overall, it was okay, but having cold water after the sauna would be nice, and mats or towels to sit on during the sauna would be helpful. The temperature and humidity of the sauna and the Onsen were great! However, I noticed that a young male staff member had no smile and left shoes scattered around. The Room and meals were excellent!

    Repeaters Done!

    Everything was absolutely wonderful. We stayed as a family of three to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, recommended by our daughter. We were truly happy to celebrate at this accommodation. We are deeply grateful for the thoughtful care of the staff. Without a doubt, we will be returning guests.

    Thank you for taking care of us during our 1-night, 2-day stay. This was our first time staying, and we used the special room in the annex. The room, meals, Onsen, and hospitality were all exceptional.

    Very good.

    Amenities are not provided in the room, so please take what you need from the amenity station. The open-air bath and meals are excellent. The shuttle bus will leave promptly even if you have a reservation, so it may be necessary to contact in advance if you're running late. I would like to use this service again.

    Recently, I often found places that were cheap but lacked creativity or good but overpriced. However, this Onsen was reasonably priced and extremely satisfying!     Solo Journey for the 60th Birthday Celebration

    We stayed here to celebrate a 60th birthday. The "Villa Komorebi Garden Suite" was an incredibly spacious special room where we enjoyed a luxurious time with a sauna and an open-air bath overlooking the garden. The autumn leaves visible from the large public bath were stunning, providing relaxation for both body and mind, making it the perfect trip. We are also deeply grateful for the warm hospitality of the staff.     The facility itself ...

    The facility itself is beautifully designed, but it felt like its potential was not fully utilized. The staff explanations seemed to be recited from a manual, and when I asked questions midway, they were either unanswered or interrupted. While relaxing in the lounge, a group explanation session started, making it uncomfortable to stay there. I felt that hospitality could be improved. I chose a higher-tier meal option, but it seemed like the only difference was the portion size. If that's the case, I wish it had been clearly stated beforehand. It was disappointing because the autumn leaves were beautiful and the facility was great. I hope this feedback helps and look forward to better services in the future.

    I recently made a reservation for a 10-tatami mat Japanese-style room, but it took too long to be guided to the room upon arrival. There was only one towel provided for the bath, and there were no bath towels available when using the bathroom in the room, which was inconvenient. Since only 10-tatami mat rooms were available, it couldn't be helped, but the distance from the room to the bath was far. I was surprised to find a copy of a meeting document from previous guests in the guidebook in my room. The customer service was excellent.

    This was my second stay. The first experience was great, so I decided to stay here again. The room had a view of the garden right in front, with no buildings or structures in sight, making it feel like being truly in the middle of a forest—unlike other Ryokans. Although it is a traditional Ryokan, the bath was modern and clean. The staff were friendly and kind, offering guidance and engaging with us warmly. Meals were well-balanced with both meat and fish served at just the right timing. Hot dishes were served hot, and cold ones remained cold. I was very satisfied overall. Time flowed so peacefully that I wish check-in and check-out times could be extended by an hour each. If I visit Yamashiro Onsen again, I would definitely choose to stay here!

    The Ultimate Journey

    A solo trip at its best. The facility, exterior, and service are impeccable. From the moment you step into the entrance, you feel liberated from everyday life. The large public bath is, of course, different from ordinary public baths. Especially the washing area will change your perception. Seeing is believing. The staff's hospitality is something to aspire to. I would love to visit again, and if recommending to friends, I would definitely suggest "Mori no Sumika."

    We look forward to the day you can once again experience the essence of Mori no Sumika.

    During my previous stay at the annex, I was impressed by the handwritten menu and creative dishes. This time, I opted for a reasonably priced weekday plan, but the quality of the cuisine had significantly declined, and I couldn't feel the unique charm of Morinosumika. Cuisine is one of the most important aspects of a ryokan, so I hope that a certain level of quality will be maintained regardless of the plan's price. Additionally, I would like to request improvements in facilities and amenities. Even recent business hotels show innovation in items like hair dryers, showerheads, and amenities; however, this time my room had outdated yukata and basic supplies that made it uncomfortable to relax or enjoy my stay. Morinosumika holds special memories for me. That’s why I am sharing this feedback honestly. I sincerely hope you will work on these improvements so that guests can once again feel delighted to stay here.

    Amazing!

    I love traveling both domestically and internationally, and since COVID, I have been frequently enjoying domestic trips. I usually don't post reviews, but this trip was so memorable that I decided to share my experience. The room, facility, furniture—all were incredibly stylish, with a subtle fragrance and beautiful background music creating a perfect atmosphere! First of all, I was amazed by the spaciousness and luxury of the room. The two onsen facilities were absolutely fantastic. Above all, both dinner and breakfast were truly delicious and left a lasting impression! Just recently, we stayed at a high-end ryokan in a famous onsen town; however, personally speaking, I much preferred this accommodation. From the warm welcome to the guided tour of the facility—it exceeded all my expectations. This has become our favorite accommodation as a couple! Thank you very much.

    Accommodation to Fully Enjoy Nature

    The large windows in the rooms, public bath, restaurant, and other facilities are well-maintained, offering stunning views of the beautiful garden and lush green mountains. Although I was initially concerned after reading some reviews about the meals, they turned out to be delicious. The dessert selection was abundant and clearly given special attention, which made me very happy. Despite being located in the heart of nature, there were no issues with insects. You can fully enjoy your stay within the accommodation with amenities such as a public bath, a smaller bath area, a pool, garden walks, and a lounge that doubles as a library. Even though I chose the most affordable plan, it was an incredibly satisfying stay. Thank you very much!

    You can enjoy an extraordinary space and time.

    Used for a birthday celebration, I didn't have high expectations, but the garden, greenery, spacious Room, and meals were wonderful. The only downside was the 10:00 AM checkout time, which felt rushed. Since most guests seemed to come here to relax, a later checkout time would be appreciated. I look forward to visiting again if I have the chance.

    Beloved Accommodation.

    Thank you for your hospitality the other day. Being a Monday right after the Obon holiday, I was grateful to stay at a very reasonable price. The room with a living area was very spacious, and both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious, leaving me fully satisfied. The view of the garden from the entrance was stunning, truly embodying the essence of "a retreat in the forest." I absolutely loved how harmoniously it blended with nature.     It became a wonderful memory!

    Surrounded by nature, I felt truly relaxed in this quiet space away from daily life! The Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable to stay in. The dishes were not only visually stunning but also incredibly delicious—every bite was impressive!
