    Kagaribi Gozen at Kagaribi no Yu

    I took my parents, who are over 85 years old, on this trip. The Onsen was pleasant and satisfying, but the distance to the Kagari-bi open-air bath was a bit far... My father only went once, and my mother didn't go at all. I visited three times and enjoyed every visit. For elderly guests, I recommend not overexerting themselves... but it is worth a visit. For dinner, we had the Kagari-bi Gozen, which was delicious, filling, and left no leftovers. The breakfast buffet was also abundant in variety and very tasty. Especially, the recommended waffles were outstanding. The dining Room was spacious and provided a pleasant atmosphere. The souvenir shop inside the facility had a wide selection, and the beer at the beer counter after the Onsen was excellent. I was very satisfied, but... my parents found the facility too large and worried about getting lost, so they relaxed in the Room. The Room was spacious, and they seemed satisfied with its comfort.

    After being guided to the Room, I felt a bit sad to find belongings from the previous guest left on the tatami in the Room.

    The meals and hospitality are excellent, but there is room for improvement in the Facility.

    I stayed during the New Year. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with the Sendai beef steak at dinner being particularly exceptional. The breakfast offered a wide variety of both Japanese and Western options, which was very satisfying. It was disappointing that there were no towels provided in the washroom of the Room, only paper towels. Using paper every time I washed my hands filled up the trash bin quickly, and I was unsure how to manage when washing my face. The system of bringing bath towels and face towels from the Room to the bath was also not ideal. Considering this is a luxury Property with a relatively high price, it would be nice if guests didn’t have to deal with such inconveniences. Additionally, the quality of the bath towels was quite thin; I would prefer them to be thicker. The elevator and lobby were cold, possibly due to the age of the building, but it felt like I might catch a chill after bathing. I hope this can be improved. Since there is some distance from the large public bath to the open-air bath, it would be nice to have something like a bathrobe to wear during the winter. The open-air bath with bonfire lighting was beautiful, but it was too cold to enjoy, which was a shame. Although I have mentioned several areas for improvement, I am grateful to the staff for their pleasant service, which made this trip a memorable one.

    It was a fresh experience.

    The open-air bath with bonfire was fantastic and had a magical atmosphere. The staff's dialect matched the Ryokan perfectly, which was delightful.

    The satisfaction lev...

    The satisfaction level decreased as I was really looking forward to and had high expectations for the meals. This is just my personal opinion, but I didn't find the food delicious, and it was also disappointing that during dinner, the dishes (appetizers) were already set on the table with covers on them. It felt more like a banquet... Am I the only one who feels this way?

    The bonfire is wonderful.

    I chose the Plan with twin beds and had a truly relaxing and calm stay. It is a long-established Ryokan where the former Emperor and Empress also stayed. The open-air bath with bonfire at night was fantastic, with excellent spring quality. However, it was disappointing that the meals were not in a private room. Breakfast was also a buffet in a large venue, and since I haven't been to such buffets recently, it was quite disappointing. The taste was fine, but perhaps the atmosphere was lacking. I think it would be better if there were more tailored options for guests who are paying a certain amount.

    I was able to relax.

    The room facilities, large public bath, and meals were all excellent. The staff's service was also good. It is a property I would definitely like to stay at again.

    I was concerned abou...

    I was concerned about hearing voices from the next room and the hallway in the guest room. Also, perhaps because it is a Facility with a large capacity, there were many group guests, which created a somewhat unsettling atmosphere. Overall, it was neither good nor bad.

    Almost perfect. Very satisfied.

    I used it for the first time on a wedding anniversary trip. It was a very comfortable Room with the pleasant scent of tatami. The food was wonderful, and every dish was very delicious. I enjoyed a lot of the original beer, Kagari-bi, which suited my taste. Also, I felt reassured as they carefully confirmed my requests regarding allergies. Overall, I was very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone. However, there were a few minor concerns. - The amount of food might be a bit too much. I was satisfied with the generous portions, but my wife seemed to struggle a bit. - I appreciate the tabi socks provided in the Room, but they don't pair well with the tatami, making it very slippery. There were a few moments of concern. I didn't find my personal socks to be as slippery, so it might be a material issue. I hope you will consider this.

    Special Room

    I used the property for an anniversary stay. I had wanted to stay once due to previous reviews, and I finally got a reservation, so I was taken care of. It was raining on the day, so I thought the open-air bath in the room I was looking forward to might be impossible, but the rain stopped for a moment, and I took the opportunity to enter. The temperature setting was changed upon request, so I was able to enjoy the bath at just the right temperature. The meal was served in the room, and I was able to enjoy various drinks and leisurely savor seasonal dishes. When taking a bath in the open-air bath, it would be helpful to have a little more lighting on the stairs when going down. It was dark due to the rain and mist, and I thought older people might find it scary. The water in the garden was drained due to construction, but I thought it would be a magnificent garden if it were filled with water. I would like to stay again.

    Be soothed by the Onsen while gazing absentmindedly at the bonfire.

    It was truly wonderful to stay at this Property for my first visit to Akiu Onsen. The onsen with bonfire was many times more beautiful than the photos on the website. While soaking in the green, viscous water, I could gaze at the bonfire endlessly. It really cleared my busy mind and was truly healing. After getting out of the onsen, I met my husband at the beer counter, and the Property's original beer was very delicious. The dinner was also truly amazing, with each dish being wonderful. The steamed abalone, Sendai beef, and the hoya I tried for the first time were all really delicious. I was surprised at how well the dessert crème brûlée paired with the hot hojicha! Then, when we returned to the Room, the futon was laid out, and there was a pitcher of what seemed to be Akiu's water, which was incredibly delicious. Recently, it seems like the frequency of encountering such subtle services has decreased, so I was really pleased this time. The futon was also very comfortable, and I slept soundly. The next morning, I was lucky enough to see the sunrise from the Room, which felt like it boosted my fortune. The morning bath, with the sunlight streaming in, had a different charm from the night bath with the bonfire, and it was the best. The breakfast buffet was colorful and made it hard to choose. The chef's omelet, beef tongue curry, fruits, and everything else were delicious. Lastly, the bus driver, the front desk staff, the person who served us dinner, and the person who served us at the beer counter all provided service with a smile, leaving a very good impression. The handmade clothespin with the Room number to prevent mix-ups showed thoughtfulness. Also, the cleaning was thorough, allowing for a pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

    I enjoyed the luxuri...

    I enjoyed the luxurious atmosphere and various amenities at the hotel with its beautiful views and spacious areas. However, the large dining hall for dinner, while understandably lacking an outside view, was lit with overly bright fluorescent lights, which made it hard to relax. The bluish-white fluorescent lighting during dinner was quite off-putting. I thought that simply changing to atmospheric incandescent lighting could alter the impression significantly. Additionally, regarding the meal, I would prefer an improvement in the quality of each dish rather than an increase in the number of items. Also, during checkout, when leaving the hotel with large luggage in the rain, there was no one to assist, which felt lonely, especially since the welcome was so lively.
