    Thank you very much.

    We stayed as a family. This was our first family trip with two boys. We contacted the Ryokan in advance to make sure we wouldn’t cause any trouble, and thanks to their support we had a wonderful time. The water in Yumura has truly excellent quality. It was a hot day and our child had heat rash, but after the Onsen the itching seemed to go away. We will visit again. Thank you very much.

    Please think more from the guest’s perspective.

    We stayed in what was probably the best Room at Yuamu, but our dinner table was set right in front of an area where staff were constantly coming and going, and we were seated on the aisle side. I couldn’t relax at all. About four groups were placed in the same space; if we had at least been seated further inside, we wouldn’t have had to keep making eye contact with guests arriving one after another… I was so upset that I couldn’t sleep that night. Why weren’t we given a private dining room even though they have them? It felt like the only reason was that it was easier for the staff to handle those four groups all at once. Mealtimes are extremely important on a trip and one of the main things to look forward to, so this was deeply disappointing. It made me think we should have gone to another Ryokan for a similar price. Also, we chose this Room because we loved how spacious the open-air bath attached to it is, but there is no handrail next to the tub and there is a slight step, making it easy to trip or slip. There is also no changing area, so you have to change clothes next to the tub in the heat. Since the sink is in the same area as well, if someone is using the bath you can’t brush your teeth or do anything at the sink, which was inconvenient. At minimum, guests staying in a Room with an open-air bath could have been made to feel something more special.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    The view from the window was amazing, with the ocean and a pine forest. The meals were delicious, but it was disappointing that there was no coffee in the Room and we had to go far to get it.

    The staff at the Accommodation were kind and attentive. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with crab and fresh vegetables in such generous portions that we couldn’t finish everything. However, it was disappointing for someone like me who wants to take it slow that checkout is at 10:00 and everything closes at 10:00. This isn’t the Accommodation’s fault, but the Yumura Onsen town seemed less lively than it used to be. Also, Hamazaka felt far away, and Hamazaka Station has only stairs, which was tough for someone with limited mobility.

    We made wonderful memories on our first couples’ trip in a long time.

    I was able to make a last-minute Reservation for a stay starting on the final day of Golden Week, and they kindly accommodated me. Because it was a sudden Reservation, I couldn’t get exactly the Room I wanted, but from check-in to check-out I was able to relax and enjoy my stay without any stress. The meals were outstanding in both quality and quantity, and I truly enjoyed them—I was very satisfied. The Onsen water felt gentle on the skin, and I could soak at ease; I was very satisfied with that as well. I would definitely like to return.

    Just my daughter and me

    I’ve visited Yumura Onsen several times, but this was my first stay at Yuamu. Based on a Review, I set the police box as my navigation destination and arrived at the Ryokan smoothly. The staff member in the parking lot kindly guided me and even carried my luggage to my Room. He had a wonderful smile. After checking into the Room, I went straight to the bath. There were plenty of washing stations, and I relaxed in both the open-air bath and the indoor bath. Dinner was served from 6:00 PM. Every dish was carefully prepared. The tempura we ordered separately was truly light and crispy—delicious. After that we had meat as well, and I was completely full. The food was so good that we ended up enjoying quite a bit of alcohol too. Breakfast the next morning also included steamed dishes in a bamboo steamer, which I really enjoyed. It was a fulfilling two days and I felt refreshed. One small downside is that it would have been even better if they provided samue loungewear. Still, for that price, it’s a great deal. I’d love to visit again.

    This is my second stay.

    I was very satisfied with my previous stay (especially the meals), so I stayed again in a different season. Once again, I was extremely satisfied with the delicious and beautifully presented breakfast and dinner. The large public Onsen bath was also excellent. Last time I stayed in a Japanese-modern Room, so this time I chose a Western-style Room, but it felt a bit plain, which was disappointing. I also hope the quality of the toilet paper can be improved. The staff service was very good overall, but it was slightly disappointing that there were one or two people who seemed a bit unfriendly. In any case, it’s a wonderful Hotel with great value for money, so I will visit again in another season.

    I still love you, Yuamu.

    Arriving at Yuamu always makes me want to say, “I’m home!!” This time, we planned our visit for the day the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Since our wedding anniversary is in April, my husband and I have stayed at Yuamu every year because he loves it so much, but this was our first time during peak cherry blossom season. When I opened the Room window, the blossoms looked absolutely beautiful. While soaking in the open-air bath, cherry petals fluttered down into the clear water. The food was as delicious as ever and never disappoints, and the service was attentive without being intrusive—just what you’d expect from Yuamu.

    The Facility is old, but I was satisfied.

    - Building and Facility The building is old, but once you are in the Room it doesn’t bother you and it is clean. The slippers had flat, worn-out cushioning and didn’t look very clean, so I didn’t want to put my feet in them. - Meals I was extremely satisfied to be able to enjoy a variety of crab dishes. - Staff Everyone was kind and courteous. - Onsen One of the open-air baths was too deep to sit in, so I had to soak while slightly crouching. You can’t stay in for long.

    The food is delicious.

    It was wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff were mostly young, and they were polite and cheerful, which made us feel very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

    Overall, it was good. to=all:final

    The Onsen and the meals were great, but the staff member who explained the dishes spoke softly while wearing a mask, so neither of us could hear well due to our age and hearing difficulty. For the Shuttle Service from the bus stop, it would have been more considerate if they had asked about road conditions as well.

    First-time visit.

    I stayed at the accommodation for the first time on January 22. It took six hours to get to Yuamu from Osaka due to the severe cold wave. I felt relieved when I arrived at the accommodation. The snowy outdoor bath was amazing. The staff's hospitality was very polite and heartwarming. The meals were delicious, and the portions were just right. I was also satisfied with services like welcome drinks, massage chairs, and post-bath ice cream. I would love to stay again. Although getting there in the snow was challenging, it became a memorable experience as well. Thank you very much!

    Stayed with my mother for 2 nights.

    The Room and meals were excellent, but above all, the staff were kind, making our 2-day stay very comfortable. It happened to snow during our visit, and the open-air bath with a snowy view was breathtaking.

    It was a very pleasant accommodation.

    I have visited Yumura Onsen many times since childhood, often in conjunction with visiting family graves, but this was my first time staying at Yuamu. Based on the comments I left during the reservation, the staff provided thoughtful care from parking to meals and even check-out. I truly appreciate their attentiveness. The room and meals were stylish, wonderful, and allowed for a very comfortable stay. I can't believe such a fantastic accommodation exists! If given the chance, I would love to stay here again. As for why I rated the guest room 4 stars instead of 5: The bed was slightly low, which made it difficult for my elderly mother to sit down or stand up from it. For those without mobility issues, it would definitely be a 5-star experience.

    Satisfied with meals and bath.

    Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying, especially the delicious local cuisine. The open-air bath was slightly deep, but the quality of the hot spring water and the bath itself were excellent.

    Relaxing Yumura

    It takes about 3 hours from Kobe, and the distance from the highway felt long. The autumn leaves were beautiful. The Onsen town had a calm atmosphere, though it felt a bit quiet, which I personally liked. A short walk from the Hotel led to a public bathhouse. The meals were also very satisfying. I was able to relax and unwind at my own pace.

    The room was difficult to use.

    The room was very spacious and beautiful, but the sink was combined with the bathroom (next to the bathtub), making it very inconvenient to use. While someone is using the bath, you cannot even wash your hands. I also struggled with where to use the hairdryer or do my makeup. Although there is a covered outlet at the sink, since it’s integrated with the bathroom, it’s too humid to dry or style hair there. I ended up using outlets for the coffee maker and electric kettle for my hairdryer and curling iron. For makeup, I used a small tabletop mirror provided in the room and did it on a low table. Additionally, since there is only a window in the bathroom, it felt quite closed off. If staying as four people, two will sleep on beds in one bedroom while two others will sleep on futons in a small 4-tatami-sized room. The lighting could only be adjusted for most of the main areas together rather than individually; this meant moving around in dim light if someone was sleeping. Although this room has won an award for its design, functionally speaking, it was one of the least convenient rooms I’ve ever stayed in. That said, both our private bath and public bath were excellent. The private bath especially felt luxurious as it was spacious with flowing hot spring water directly supplied. The meals were served privately in our own dining space and included creative dishes that were absolutely delicious!

    We were very satisfied.

    We enjoyed the live crab course, which was expertly prepared and very easy to eat. The drinks and ice cream were delicious, and the complimentary massage chair was a nice touch. The staff were very kind, making our stay pleasant and comfortable. Great value for money—looking forward to visiting again!

    My disabled wife was able to enjoy the private open-air bath in the Room. We are very satisfied as she could finally experience an Onsen after many years of giving up. The meals were also delicious. Due to our age, we are not fond of buffets or fried foods, but both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The only downside was that the toilets outside the Room felt a bit outdated.

    It was my first time using it.

    This was our third visit to Yumura Onsen, but our first stay at Yuamu. The Kawami Room was wonderful and very comfortable. For an older couple, it felt almost too spacious. A lower-ranked room might have been sufficient, allowing us to upgrade the meal plan instead. The meals were creative and stylish, with unique combinations we had never tried before—delicious and enjoyable. We might come back again!

    A successful birthday celebration trip for two family members!

    The food was delicious, and I was able to make a very affordable reservation through IKYU, staying in a room with a massage chair. Although I checked in close to 6 PM and missed the Welcome Drink, they kindly provided coffee, which wasn’t included in the room amenities. I headed to the third floor for dinner right away. Since I usually stay at places with buffets during trips, the kaiseki-style meal at Yuamu allowed me to enjoy my meal slowly without overeating. The two celebrating their birthdays were deeply moved as well. If you enjoy sake, there’s an option for recommended pairings; however, our family—who aren’t strong drinkers—was satisfied with beer and pear chu-hi (delicious!). The dessert was also excellent—it was so amazing that I want to tell all my friends about it! The bathwater had a smooth texture that left my skin soft and moisturized even after getting out of the bath. Before bathing, there were free drinks and ice pops available—a truly thoughtful touch! As many reviews mention, not having to bring towels from your room is such a relief—it’s an incredibly convenient system! The massage chair provided just the right amount of kneading and tapping; though it was from an unfamiliar brand, it worked wonders on relieving tension. For breakfast the next morning, we enjoyed steamed dishes served in bamboo steamers as well as flounder fillets prepared without bones—perfect for my son who usually avoids fish due to fear of bones but could eat stress-free this time around. Even though he doesn’t like traditional Japanese sweets much, he found the kinako pudding surprisingly delicious—a rare occurrence! I’m already looking forward to experiencing more of this culinary magic by repeating our stay here—it’s decided! When making our reservation online through IKYU.com earlier on behalf of two family members celebrating their birthdays during this trip month—I noted these details—and we received lovely gifts upon arrival which made us feel truly grateful beyond words! My way of giving back would be recommending this wonderful hotel wholeheartedly among friends & acquaintances alike—the nighttime lanterns added such enchanting vibes too—I can’t wait till returning soon again!!

    Overall, it is a good accommodation.

    I stayed here for a solo trip. The food was incredibly delicious. I was especially impressed by the crab dishes. The Onsen was a bit smaller than I expected, which was slightly disappointing. However, I had a relaxing time and was very satisfied overall. The price is reasonable and budget-friendly.

    A Long-Awaited Visit to Yumura Onsen

    Planned a visit to Yumura Onsen after 20 years and chose "Yuamu" for our stay. We were looking forward to enjoying the open-air bath. Good: - The room was spacious and clean, which lifted our spirits! Meals were served in a private dining area, allowing us to relax while eating. - The staff in charge of meals provided excellent service. - Fish bones were removed beforehand, making it very easy to eat dishes like dried fish. - The open-air bath in the room was also spacious and allowed for a relaxing soak. - Bottled water was provided, which was very helpful. Bad: - Cleaning around water areas could be improved; there were water stains (toilet, sink) and moss (open-air bath). - The showerhead in the bathroom couldn’t be fixed in place and kept changing direction on its own (after some effort I managed to fix it myself). - While most of the food was delicious, some dishes seemed overly creative or unconventional, making them difficult for elderly guests to enjoy. It seems carts are left outside room entrances for convenience upon departure... but this might not look aesthetically pleasing. With more attention paid to detailed cleaning, this wonderful accommodation could become even better!

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. The food was delicious, and the room had a wonderful atmosphere. We also appreciate your consideration regarding my husband's shellfish allergy. We enjoyed making Onsen eggs as you kindly provided free eggs! (Although we were too full from the Ryokan meals to eat them in the end...) We would love to stay again!

    Second stay this month

    As it was my second stay in the same month, the meals were slightly adjusted for me. I was informed at check-in that the menu would be the same, so it was a delightful surprise.
