    I’d love to stay here again.

    We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room with an open-air bath. The Facility was clean and relaxing, and we were able to unwind at our own pace. We truly appreciate how kindly and thoughtfully you accommodated our requests, such as a surprise cake and extra bath towels. Breakfast was delicious too!

    We made wonderful memories with our dog.

    We stayed in the Pet Suite with our small dog. The Room was right in front of the lower parking lot where we parked, which was very convenient since traveling with a dog means extra luggage. The Room had everything we needed for our dog, including wet wipes, pee pads, and a water bowl. There was also a crate, so our dog seemed comfortable staying alone and sleeping. Because the Room was away from the facilities for guests without pets, it was quiet. The breakfast venue is in a separate building, so we took the slope car to get there. It’s a bit of a distance but not an issue. However, on the way there, a boy wearing only underwear was loudly banging a decorative rabbit against the wall. We didn’t see his parents nearby, and he didn’t seem to understand Japanese. There wasn’t anywhere nearby to walk our dog, but aside from that everything was excellent. We would definitely like to stay again. We used only the in-room bath and not the Onsen facilities, so I’m giving 4 stars.

    Two generations, dogs allowed

    This was my first time staying in this Room with two generations of our family, our dog, and our first grandchild, although I have stayed here many times before. It did feel a bit small for all of us, but we enjoyed an evening walk around the grounds on a midsummer night, dinner at Ohran was the right choice, and we fully enjoyed the in-room open-air bath and the large public bath for a truly fulfilling stay. The staff at check-in and all other staff were very kind, and we returned home completely satisfied.

    Kyoto’s hidden retreat—an extraordinary space for relaxation

    This is a special place where you can unwind amid the beautiful ridgelines of Takamine and Washigamine and the soothing soft green of the trees. The large public bath was spotless, with excellent water quality—truly wonderful. The vegetable-focused Italian cuisine was also outstanding! Not only the staff but also other guests were very kind, allowing us to enjoy a truly fulfilling stay.

    It was more disappointing than I expected.

    We stayed at this Hotel with our dog. Even getting to the large public bath required taking a gondola, which was quite inconvenient, especially with children, and overall the Hotel felt inconvenient in many ways. The drink bar was also disappointing—there were no sodas like cola. Among the many places we’ve stayed, the breakfast buffet had a limited selection. The Room was spacious, but the bathroom floor got flooded with water. There are several areas I’d like to see improved.

    Consistently high quality

    As a Tokyu Harvest Club member’s family, we stay about five times a year. This time, member Reservations were fully booked, so we used the publicly available Hotel Harvest. Harvest properties offer consistently reliable quality, so we can relax with peace of mind. The Room, meals, and hospitality were all very good. Thank you. One concern: except at newer properties (it seems the same across the whole country), vending machines do not accept current banknotes or the current 500-yen coin and only take older notes and coins. This time, even the front desk did not have any older coins or notes available, which was very inconvenient. I believe this is an issue across Tokyu Harvest as a whole rather than at an individual Facility, and I hope it will be addressed.

    About the Room quality

    I made a Reservation after viewing the photos on IKYU, but in reality the Room was in the main building and had an unbearable, musty old smell. When I went to the south wing for breakfast, it was clearly newer and cleaner. The staff said both buildings were constructed at the same time, which I found hard to believe. For such a high price, this kind of outdated Room felt misleading compared with the photos, and it was a big disappointment after staying at an excellent Hotel the day before.

    Wonderful!

    Everything was wonderful! The surroundings were very pleasant and quiet, so I was able to relax during my stay. It is a very clean Hotel, the Room was spacious, and I could take my time enjoying the Onsen. I also enjoyed the slope car connecting the Main Building and the South Building. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I would love to visit again.

    Onsen in Kyoto

    Even though it was a three-day weekend, the Hotel was not crowded, so we could relax. The area was quiet, and Genko-an Temple and Imamiya Shrine were within walking distance; Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Kinkaku-ji Temple were also just a short taxi ride away. There is an Onsen and a sauna, and you can also stroll through the beautiful garden of Shozan Resort behind the property. If you plan to get around by taxi or car, this is a great place to enjoy an Onsen stay surrounded by nature while still sightseeing in Kyoto. This time we stayed in a room with an open-air bath, and the view was wonderful—an excellent stay.

    I felt truly refreshed.

    It was my first time back in Kyoto in a while, and this resort—set on vast grounds and surrounded by tranquil forest—was incredibly refreshing. The Onsen, spa, and Room all had a calm atmosphere, making it a wonderful vacation. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Kyoto.

    Modern Business Hotels often provide more reliable customer service. We stayed here for our wedding anniversary, but the service was truly disappointing from start to finish. Everything was self-service. A Hotel we will never visit again.

    The finest open-air bath surrounded by the scenic beauty of Takagamine

    Stayed for one night from December 8th. This time, we used the Hotel as a base for our couple's trip to enjoy Kyoto's autumn leaves. Since our previous stay was at a Hotel near Kennin-ji Temple in a lively area, we chose this Hotel hoping for a quieter place. As expected, it was a wonderful Hotel where we could fully enjoy the scenery of Takagamine. The view from the open-air bath attached to our Room was especially outstanding; soaking in the bath multiple times while admiring the late autumn foliage-covered mountains helped us unwind and relieve daily stress. Additionally, there are famous temples known for their autumn leaves and soy sauce shops nearby, making it conveniently located for sightseeing. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Onsen Accommodation in Kyoto City

    Stayed for the first time for 2 nights. Located in the mountains of Kyoto, so it’s a bit far, but the environment is excellent. Staff service varies depending on the person. The Onsen quality is good, but moving around inside the spacious facility can be tiring. Dinner options include Chinese and chicken-based Japanese cuisine; both were average. Breakfast was also average. Meals overall were ordinary. Surprised that even after a 2-night stay, only one bottle of mineral water was provided and everything except tea bags was charged—unexpected for this price range. Service didn’t match the cost; only highlight was the Onsen itself. The room was decent overall but nothing special. Pet-friendly rooms are available (dogs and cats allowed). Be prepared to walk as the premises are large; if staying in the main building, note that baths are far away and carrying luggage can be challenging. Restaurants are located in a garden area which is also distant from accommodations—Chinese and chicken restaurants require walking quite a bit or using taxis, especially for elderly guests. Surprisingly no shuttle service provided despite being part of what seems to be a membership-based hotel system. During my stay, there were almost no foreign guests which made it peaceful and comfortable with mostly older visitors creating a quiet atmosphere. Since there are very few Onsens within Kyoto city itself, this accommodation is highly recommended for those seeking an Onsen retreat in a tranquil setting!

    I had a comfortable stay.

    The Room was assigned by the Hotel, which initially made me a bit worried, but I ended up staying in a wonderful Room and had a very comfortable experience. I fully enjoyed my Hotel stay from check-in to check-out. The attentive service and thoughtful gestures during meals were impressive, making both breakfast and dinner highly enjoyable. The Onsen in Kyoto is truly special, and I would love to use this Facility again. Thank you very much!

    I stayed at a Hotel with an Onsen in Kyoto for the first time. The overall space was spacious, and the renovated interior made it very comfortable. The cable car connecting the main building and the south wing was also enjoyable. Everything was clean and well-maintained. I had both dinner and breakfast, and I was satisfied with both. The Japanese-style breakfast buffet, in particular, was so delicious that I would come back just for it. The menu featured a variety of dishes using Kyoto's unique ingredients, and the warabi mochi dessert was so good that I wanted to take some home. Although it's a bit far from the station and seemed inconvenient at first, it turned out to be quiet and relaxing because of that. The staff were young but very polite and pleasant. I would love to visit again!

    Compared to other ho...

    Compared to other hotels in the same price range, the service and facilities were slightly disappointing. The front desk staff were not very friendly, and I did not feel welcomed during check-in. I was surprised by their unenthusiastic response when I requested cutlery. In the room, only 500ml bottles of water were provided per person, and everything else came with an additional charge, which was disappointing. The informational card placed in the room also felt cheaply made. The location is not very convenient without a rental car or taxi, as it’s about a 10-minute walk to the nearest convenience store. While the room had an open-air bath and was spacious, I would not choose to stay here again.

    Relaxed stay in Kitayama

    I chose your Hotel to spend some quiet time away from the overwhelming crowds in central Kyoto, and it was absolutely the right decision. The Kitayama area was free from large inbound tourist groups, and even at Koetsuji Temple, I only encountered about two groups of four people. What left a strong impression during my stay at your Hotel were the bath (Mayu) and the spacious facilities inside (a very important aspect for me). Additionally, the grounds and gardens of Shozan Resort were wonderful. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn’t explore the southern side (the non-paid area), which was disappointing. Later on, I realized that the view from your Italian restaurant—featuring an artificial pond with water and bamboo scenery reminiscent of a modern art museum—was stunning. Next time, I’d love to dine there as well. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. If I had to point out anything: the bath towels provided felt thin and rough; for some reason, the lobby area didn’t quite exude a sense of luxury; also when told “you can buy beer from vending machines,” they were all sold out (though thankfully resolved by purchasing at your shop). I look forward to visiting again!

    Highly Satisfied

    I had another comfortable stay. Although it is difficult to make a reservation, this hotel is the best choice for accommodation in Kyoto. I will use it again. If possible, I would like to stay in a different room next time.

    There was no doorman.

    There was no doorman. Despite having reserved a regular charging spot for my car, both spaces were occupied by non-electric vehicles, and I couldn't charge my car. I had to use the rapid charging station instead. Additionally, there was no doorman again, and I couldn't locate the charging spots in the parking lot. With the increasing number of electric vehicles, allowing general cars to use EV charging spaces seems questionable. If a car needing a charge arrives, would you ask others to move? When boarding the slope car, pressing "South Wing" did not activate it, making it unusable. There was no apology from staff either; I had to carry my suitcase up the stairs on the slope's pathway instead. It seemed like there were many staff members in training; however, proper guidance for guests is necessary. The onsen was excellent.

    Quiet and relaxing

    A flawless Hotel after a long time... We stayed as a couple and truly relaxed. Amidst many luxurious hotels with flashy and glittering images, this place had no unpleasant aspects at all... It allowed us to experience true luxury in every sense.

    It was quiet and relaxing.

    Unlike the bustling center of Kyoto crowded with foreign tourists, it was very nice to spend time quietly and leisurely. The meal was breakfast only, but it was very delicious. The large public bath and the open-air bath in the Room were also excellent. However, I was surprised that the coffee in the Room was not free.

    I wanted to use the late check-out option.

    I stayed at the accommodation to celebrate a birthday. When I requested a late checkout at the front desk, I was told that only a 3:00 PM checkout was available with an additional charge of 30% of the accommodation fee. While members with free annual membership can extend their checkout time by one hour for free until 12:00 PM, it seemed unfair that general guests cannot even extend by one hour for an additional fee. Nowadays, most hotels allow hourly extensions with corresponding charges, so this policy was surprising. It’s disappointing that I couldn’t relax and enjoy such a special occasion. For those considering requesting late checkout on the day of your stay, please be cautious.

    The meals and the bath were excellent!

    We stayed with our beloved dog. Since the accommodation was like a villa and detached, it was very convenient for us to stay with our dog. The room was spacious, and our dog seemed very happy! We booked the 10th Anniversary Plan for meals, which were luxurious and delicious. The service was also excellent, making it a memorable experience. The only downside was that moving between the main building and the south wing was a bit inconvenient, but this seems unavoidable due to the structure. Additionally, I wished there were vending machines or shops in the main building. While there are vending machines available, they have limited options, so I hope this can be improved in the future. That said, it turned out to be a wonderful stay overall. Thank you very much!

    Third stay, and it was excellent again.

    This was my third stay. This time, I stayed in the South Wing instead of the Main Wing. The atmosphere of the room was different from that of the Main Wing, and I enjoyed it. Breakfast and the large public bath were conveniently located nearby. The view from the balcony in the Main Wing is more to my liking, but I also appreciated the ambiance of the South Wing. Since my husband is a local, he stepped out for a while at night, and during that time, I used the lounge alone. The bartender was very friendly and shared various stories with me, making it a wonderful experience. Next time, I'd like to enjoy it together with my husband. For dinner, we dined at Louran; breakfast was a Japanese buffet. The meals here are always exceptional no matter what you choose—truly impressive every time. Towels, bathrobes, and other amenities were provided in sufficient quantities within the facility. If I may suggest one improvement: having a place to hang bathrobes would be nice. Being close to Osaka makes it easy to visit again—I look forward to staying here on another spontaneous trip!

    Used for an anniversary trip.

    The calm atmosphere and attentive service were very impressive. The Room was exceptionally clean, with thoughtful details that left a lasting impression. It was also greatly appreciated that there was no crowding from inbound guests, allowing for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    We chose the "Room with Open-Air Bath - Leave it to Us Plan" and were delighted to stay at Takagamine River. Due to the holiday season, our preferred restaurant was fully booked, so we purchased a bento from a Kyoto-style restaurant at Kyoto Station's underground market and enjoyed it in our room, which turned out to be an excellent choice. There was also a microwave near the elevator for warming up food. The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking view from the open-air bath. Since traveling to the large public bath took time, the wonderful private bath in our room was more than sufficient. We had a relaxing time and would love to visit again during another season.

    Autumn Foliage Trip

    I visited during the best time for autumn leaves last year. Since I had never been to the Takagamine area, I was a bit nervous about whether I would reach there properly, as I traveled from Gion by subway and bus at night. There is also a Shuttle Service from Kyoto, but I wanted to enjoy the city a bit more, so I went to the Hotel on my own. However, on the day of check-in, I asked if I could be taken to Kyoto the next day, just in case. They said it would be possible if I didn't mind a jump seat, so I requested it. Thanks to the fact that other guests had little luggage on the day, they managed to secure two seats for me (right behind the driver's seat, offering a great view). I was able to return to Kyoto Station while enjoying the scenery from the car. Additionally, there are famous spots for autumn leaves in the Takagamine area, and it was great to be able to visit them first thing in the morning. The staff's service was excellent, and I had a pleasant stay. Thank you very much.
