The bath and open-air bath were wonderful! The food was also delicious.

A Resort in the Forest
This large 11-story resort suddenly appeared as we drove along a rural mountain road. The building was clean and didn’t feel old at all. The Japanese-Western style Room was also very practical. The Onsen is a simple hot spring, but both the indoor and outdoor baths are spacious. At the back of the large open-air bath, there were various small tubs that looked like they had bath additives in them, which was fun in its own way. Meals were served buffet-style in a large restaurant. There was an incredible variety of dishes, and there was quite a long line in front of the Western food counter. It seems great for families with children to enjoy dining, but for older guests it’s hard to eat that much and tiring to walk around, so I wished there had been a set menu option. As a Diamond member benefit, we received a full-size bottle of sparkling wine and finished it, but it was too much for just the two of us as a couple. It would have been nice if we could choose something like two cans of beer instead.

This is an exceptionally large Hotel and Ryokan renowned for its Onsen.
Just as described on the Reservation site, the baths—especially the spacious open-air bath—are truly outstanding. Unfortunately, it rained during our stay, but soaking in the open-air bath while feeling the raindrops was wonderfully relaxing, with water at a perfect temperature that made you want to stay in forever. The renovations throughout the property—including the lobby restaurant and guest rooms—have been carried out thoroughly, and you can really feel that a tremendous investment has been made in upkeep. Thanks to that, we had an extremely comfortable and pleasant stay. The staff were also sincere and refreshing to watch as they worked hard to deliver genuine hospitality. Meals were served buffet-style in the dining area. As we were an elderly couple traveling together, we couldn’t try many dishes and could only eat what our appetites allowed. We also weren’t able to fully enjoy some of the perks, such as the free lounge or a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in our Room. Watching other families made us think how much more fun it would be next time if we could come with relatives once we have grandchildren. In the dining hall, families with children and adult-only groups were seated separately, so we could enjoy our meal in a calm atmosphere.

Please review the Plan details carefully.
The Plan description clearly stated “an executive Room with an open-air bath at a great price,” so I made a Reservation because it was affordable. However, the listing showed photos labeled as a “Special Japanese-style Room,” and although it was my mistake for misunderstanding, the Room—while on the executive floor—was disappointing. It felt old and didn’t excite me. The Premium Ladies’ Room I Reserved through another site was inexpensive and very nice. If you don’t review the Plan carefully before making a Reservation, it can really change your trip experience. Kitayuzawa is a very good Accommodation, but Rooms that haven’t been renovated yet still feel somewhat dated. It may be fine for those who like Japanese-style Rooms, but it didn’t suit me.

Very satisfied!
I’ve stayed at Nono Kaze before and had high expectations, and I was very satisfied! The room was spacious, very clean, and we were able to relax. There were also so many different types of baths that it was impossible to try them all! However, the fruit wasn’t ripe, and at check-in I was disappointed that there was no assistance with our luggage—even though I had seen staff carry other guests’ bags or provide luggage carts. We were the only ones there at the time. Other than that, we were very satisfied!

Because my child lov...
Because my child loves pools, I wanted to use Mori no Soranewa, but I wasn’t quite sure about staying there, so we chose this neighboring Accommodation instead. This time we booked a top-floor Room with a private bath, and the bath was very spacious with two washing areas, which made it extremely comfortable. However, although it was acceptable this time because we were able to stay at a very reasonable rate, if it’s JPY 80,000 per night then self check-in feels rather impersonal. At the very least, I think even just the Executive Rooms could offer lounge check-in. The open-air bath was truly wonderful—just as described, you can bathe while being surrounded by a breeze through lush greenery. Soaking in the Onsen amid fresh green leaves and blue skies while listening to higurashi and niinii cicadas was deeply moving. We chose the buffet for meals; it was neither particularly good nor bad, but considering the kids’ options and snacks for adults, it was well stocked. The flavors overall are on the salty/strong side. That said—the raw vegetables, soft-serve ice cream, and milk (at breakfast) were unbelievably delicious. I was genuinely surprised by how good they were. This isn’t the typical “buffet-style” imitation soft serve; it tastes like what you’d buy at an actual soft-serve shop for JPY 450. The milk had no odd aftertaste or distinctive smell at all—and it was very sweet. I love low-temperature pasteurized milk and have tried many around Hokkaido; personally this is the best I’ve ever had. Date Milk is outstanding. If you’re using the buffet, please try both! The vegetables are also fresh and crisp—really delicious. The in-room bath was excellent, but considering the overall service level, I feel that in the JPY 60,000 range it’s just barely worth it—so next time I stay here, a Premium Room should be enough for me. As for service from staff members: there didn’t seem to be any information sharing at all between them in some situations, which left me feeling disappointed at times; however, given that this is Noguchi’s second line brand and considering the price range overall، it felt about appropriate. I’d like to come again during the season of fresh greenery to enjoy the open-air bath once more.

It was excellent.
The buffet had many of the same items as dinner, but everything was very delicious and we were extremely satisfied. In particular, the limited-time items served from the roaming cart were excellent. The sashimi and seafood rice bowls were fresh, and we ate until we were full! The baths were spacious, and the sauna Facility was also very good. However, we visited on a warm day in May, and overall the indoor baths and the round open-air bath felt quite hot. It was a shame that we couldn’t soak slowly. The large open-air bath had the perfect temperature and was amazing! We would like to stay again if we have another opportunity.

It was a bit disappointing.
I stayed for two nights for the first time in a while. Breakfast and dinner were not particularly memorable. Overall, my rating is average. The sauna was very good, but there was no clock, so I couldn’t tell how long I had been in there.

Birthday Trip
We stayed for one night from 4/28 as a couple on a birthday trip, in an Executive Room with a top-floor scenic-view bath. The in-Room bath was luxurious, with free-flowing natural Onsen water. It was spacious enough for about four adults, and having two washing areas made it extremely convenient. The Onsen water is quite hot, so you adjust the temperature with cold water as you soak, but that also makes it feel like a true hot spring. The in-Room bath was so comfortable that we were fully satisfied without using the large public bath. Another highlight was the complimentary lounge available to guests of certain Rooms. There were alcoholic drinks and light snacks; the strawberry wine was especially delicious, and we ended up buying some at the shop. The snacks ranged from savory items like kaki-no-tane to sweets like candied sweet potatoes and chocolate muffins—everything was tasty. We visited before dinner and had to pace ourselves because it was so enjoyable. The dinner buffet offered a wide selection of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes. Everything tasted great and we were very satisfied. While it didn’t strongly emphasize Hokkaido specialties, it’s a lineup most guests can enjoy regardless of preference. The Room layout—with a separate tatami area and bedroom—was spacious and comfortable, and having two sinks made getting ready in the morning easy. Check-in/check-out is via self-service machines, but staff provided polite guidance throughout, so everything felt smooth and reassuring. Overall, this Accommodation had well-equipped Facilities and offered a consistently comfortable stay. Rather than surprising extras, it feels like an Hotel best suited for those who want to relax at ease and enjoy a calm getaway.

We stayed in a top-floor Room with a private Onsen. Meals were served as kaiseki cuisine. We were able to spend a quiet stay with hardly seeing anyone. The food was excellent. Thank you very much. We will come again.

Highly satisfied
Stayed one night with a friend on 3/30. We joined the “bluefin tuna carving show” before the dinner buffet and enjoyed freshly cut sashimi and nigiri sushi. The signature beef stew was truly outstanding, with slow-simmered meat and a mildly sweet-and-tangy cream sauce—of course I went back for seconds. There was a well-balanced selection of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, and everything was delicious. I was only disappointed that the steak pieces were cut small. The breakfast buffet was also nicely balanced, but I ended up overeating again because everything looked so tempting. The open-air bath here is one of the largest in Japan, and I could soak while taking in endless natural scenery. The forest walking baths offered a wide variety of scented baths, so it was fun to try several. The indoor bath was also large and relaxing. The washing area and changing room were so spacious that I wondered if they ever get crowded at all. All staff were pleasant—the team who welcomed us at the entrance, those handling check-in/check-out, and everyone at the buffet venue. We will visit again. One final complaint: before the buffet started, some guests entered the venue to take photos. It didn’t seem like media coverage—just regular guests—so please stop giving special treatment like that. We’d love to post on social media too, but it’s simply inconsiderate.

We visited for our w...
We visited for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay. At this time of year, it’s not too cold, and you can enjoy a snowy-view bath without worrying about insects or bears, so it was perfect. This time we splurged on an Executive Room. However, the scent in the Room (possibly from a diffuser) didn’t suit me and smelled slightly musty. I was also disappointed to find the glass door of the bath directly in front of us covered in water spots after cleaning, cobwebs on the wooden decoration by the entrance, and the overall amenities. The haori jacket was worn out and covered with pilling, and the samue loungewear was wrinkled and tired-looking. My husband felt embarrassed and stopped wearing the haori. The shampoo/conditioner and skincare were the same as in the public bath, while the hair dryer was worse than what’s provided there—honestly, the ladies’ room has far better amenities. I was quite disappointed overall, but the in-Room 전망 bath was very spacious and wonderful. The Room itself was comfortable for relaxing as well; however, since it is an Executive Room, I really hope more effort will be put into amenities and related details. It was also very inconvenient that there wasn’t a clock in the Room. We relaxed with drinks in the lounge with jazz playing, but although it is supposed to be on an upper floor for members only, anyone can enter if they register. In such a small space children were running around, and some guests took snacks as if it were “all-you-can-grab,” clearing them out completely. I’d like you to consider setting an age limit, expanding so anyone can use it comfortably instead of calling it exclusive—or creating another separate dedicated lounge. Dinner items like beef stew and desserts were as delicious as ever; however, compared with what I remember from before, the quality of raw items/seafood at the buffet wasn’t very good. The number of dishes has decreased as well—and things never seem to change… That said, vegetables plus Chinese/Japanese/Western dishes all tasted great… Also: despite being “Otaki,” there was no mushroom soup anymore—and even miso soup tasted thinner than before. Kaiseki dinner reservations were completely full so we couldn’t book at all—very disappointing. Since both bathing facilities and service are excellent otherwise, that made it even more unfortunate. This time we also used your observatory; although it was cloudy for stargazing, we were able to see a total lunar eclipse which was wonderful. The observatory experience itself was very fun. For Multiple Night Stays there is an additional fee option where lunch can be prepared for you. Onsen trips within Hokkaido are my hobby—I probably go about once a month on average. For anniversaries especially، Noguchi Kanko always helps us spend truly memorable time، which is why I love them۔ Among them، I especially love Midori no Kaze’s staff—it makes me want to visit again and again۔ Next time: definitely Kaiseki! Overall we had such a lovely time. One night isn’t enough—if you stay two nights، you won’t want to go home… That’s this Accommodation for us.

The Great Hotel
The staff were very friendly, the public pool was amazing, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The only downside was that the in-room bathrooms were a bit small and slightly dated, but this did not detract from our enjoyment of the hotel.

Everything is wonderful, as always!
I’m a repeat guest. Every year, I stay here as a birthday treat. From the moment I arrived at Midori no Kaze Resort, the staff responded quickly and were always smiling—truly wonderful. This time it was my birthday, so I brought a birthday cake. While I was checking in with my luggage on the cart, a staff member noticed the cake and kindly prepared plates, a knife, and forks for us. My partner and I were both amazed and so happy—we were really touched by their thoughtfulness! The meals were, of course, just as delicious as ever—varied and completely satisfying. The open-air bath is famous for being outstanding, and in winter, soaking in the open-air bath while snow falls is simply magical. It left a lasting impression on me and made me want to work hard again. I especially recommend visiting in winter. (Though you’ll need to brace yourself for the cold until you get into the bath!)

For guests staying for 3 or more nights, a little extra.
At check-in, IKYU Platinum members are greeted with a special treat of sparkling wine prepared in their room. Upon entering the room and opening the refrigerator, the sparkling wine awaits—a delightful surprise. To add to this, all items in the refrigerator, including alcohol, are complimentary. Truly impressive service. The accommodations and facilities were impeccably clean, from the guest rooms to the spacious open-air baths that exceeded expectations. Guests staying in certain higher-tier rooms also have access to an exclusive lounge where sparkling wine and other beverages are available free of charge—a luxurious touch that left us thoroughly satisfied. If there is one area for improvement, it would be regarding meal variety during a multiple night stay. We stayed for four nights and found that while breakfast and dinner were served buffet-style with different offerings between meals, they followed a repetitive pattern each day. Although dinner included one unique dish daily for guests staying three or more nights, it became somewhat monotonous over time. Adding variety to dishes like pizza, pasta, or curry could enhance the dining experience significantly and make it truly perfect. Overall, an exceptional stay with just this minor point feeling slightly unfortunate!

The large public bath was excellent, but it can be challenging to use in winter.
This was my first time staying at Green Wind Resort for a 1-night, 2-day winter trip in the Ladies' Room. The day I stayed happened to be the final day of fireworks, and I was lucky enough to enjoy them from my room. However, the facility felt a bit outdated, with a slightly musty smell from the air conditioner and noticeable coldness in the hallways and elevator area. On the other hand, I looked forward to using the large public bath, which truly lived up to its name as it was spacious and not crowded. That said, it was snowing heavily outside during my stay; while this added charm to the open-air bath with snowy views, it was very cold and caused the water temperature to drop (not something within the accommodation's control). Unfortunately, this made it difficult to fully enjoy touring all baths. It might be better to focus on indoor baths during winter and save bath-hopping for spring through autumn seasons. At mealtime, we enjoyed a buffet plan featuring Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes along with wagon service. While there seemed to be fewer options than expected, considering the accommodation cost overall value for money is good. This accommodation seems more suited for families rather than couples traveling together!

Stayed for two nights starting on New Year's Eve.
We stayed for three nights starting from New Year's Eve. The accommodation was booked through IKYU.com with a plan featuring a newly renovated sauna. However, it seemed there was some miscommunication between Noguchi Kanko and Midori no Kaze, as it took time to confirm details about the second day's lunch and the drinks in the refrigerator both before our stay and during check-in upon arrival. With multiple reservation sites and various plans available, this turned out to be quite stressful. The room we stayed in was a standard room. As mentioned by others, the unit bath felt very outdated and inconvenient to use. Since the facility has such extensive bathing options, perhaps having just a toilet and sink area instead of a unit bath would suffice. That said, the room itself was very spacious, with both the bed area and tatami space being comfortable for our stay. Watching fireworks from our room was also an excellent experience. The baths were incredibly large with numerous types available—so much so that trying them all felt like an adventure! The open-air bath was massive with great openness that made it enjoyable to visit multiple times. However, I noticed icy spots at entrances or along pathways like those leading to walking baths; these areas were slippery and seemed dangerous—perhaps some improvements could be made here? Additionally, there were guests with tattoos using the facilities; my husband mentioned seeing someone in the men's bath with full-back tattoos as well. The sauna renovated for their 10th anniversary was also very pleasant. Meals included fun elements like wagon services or desserts served at specific times but became repetitive since both dinner on day one and day two had nearly identical menus—it got monotonous quickly. On New Year’s Day morning though (day two), there were traditional New Year dishes included in breakfast which added variety but still left me wishing for more creativity considering guests staying multiple nights might expect something different each day. The tuna carving show on New Year’s Day evening dinner provided entertainment we thoroughly enjoyed! At Lounge ZEN where we spent time relaxing leisurely: sparkling wine varieties alongside red/white wines plus strawberry-flavored ones complemented non-alcoholic beverages paired nicely against diverse snacks offered too—all creating memorable moments thanks largely due efforts shown by hardworking international staff ensuring everything ran smoothly making us feel welcomed throughout! Special events organized around year-end holidays enhanced overall experience: - Soba noodles served during countdown festivities - Kagami-biraki ceremony & sake distribution celebrating January first - Tuna carving performance accompanying festive dining atmosphere Amidst rising costs globally nowadays evident corporate dedication towards maintaining quality stood out appreciatively—thank you!

Difficult to repeat.
〇 Meals were impressive with high entertainment value, such as the performance of notifying freshly baked apple pie with a bell, and a wide variety to enjoy. 〇 On the other hand, the guest rooms felt outdated with small toilets and baths, giving an impression of only superficial renovations. The shower was particularly inconvenient as it only had a spray mode, lacking practicality. 〇 The onsen features 20 open-air baths that provide a sense of adventure; however, the rocky surfaces are rough and visibility is poor due to steam, making it dangerous. There was even an incident where I injured my foot and bled, highlighting the need for safety improvements. Additionally, multiple users with prominent tattoos were observed, raising concerns about unclear policies. 〇 Regarding front desk staff service, there were moments when interactions with small children felt unpleasant due to insufficient attentiveness in customer service. This negatively impacted overall evaluation. 〇 Overall, the satisfaction level did not match the accommodation fee paid. As it stands now, revisiting would be difficult; this stay is likely to be a one-time experience only.

For a couple and the wife's mother.
The building is quite old, but I thought the maintenance and cleanliness were excellent. The open-air bath in the large public bath was spacious, but it was too cold to go further inside. The lounge ZEN was also nice, but if possible, please consider offering hard liquor at a reasonable price. Overall, I was impressed by the effort put into keeping the price (for 3 people) reasonable even on New Year's Day. However, upon departure, we faced difficulties due to a chartered bus for a group staying parked in front of the main entrance for an extended period. It made it very challenging to assist my elderly mother-in-law with mobility issues into our car. The slope made using a wheelchair impossible and caused significant trouble. Even when we informed staff at the entrance about this issue, they only mentioned that the bus would leave shortly without taking any action. In the end, we had to wait 15 minutes until everyone boarded and it departed. While I think this is a good accommodation overall, unless improvements are made—such as relocating bus boarding areas to below the slope—I do not plan on revisiting in the future.

The large public bath is exceptional.
I visit every year. The baths are spacious, and there are many types of open-air baths. I absolutely love Green Wind Resort; it’s my favorite Hotel. The sauna has been renovated and has a nice atmosphere, but I couldn’t tell the time as there was no clock. Additionally, the only clock in the open-air bath area was broken, which made it inconvenient. It would be helpful if more clocks were installed. The cold bath used to be around 18°C, but this time it was about 8°C, which was too cold for me to enter. At the dining venue, there were over 100 guests from a Chinese tour group filling up the space, making it noisy and difficult to enjoy a peaceful meal. When the bell rang for freshly made apple pie from the wagon service, all of them rushed at once and formed a long line, so I couldn’t get any. It was also disappointing that cakes and macarons were not replenished promptly.

It was a truly enchanting open-air bath!
On the night of November 17th, as snow began to fall, I enjoyed a relaxing time in the snowy open-air bath. Entering past midnight, I had the large outdoor bath all to myself under the falling snow—a truly luxurious experience! The room was a premium room on the 10th floor, spacious and clean. Complimentary drinks were plentiful, and I also enjoyed access to the lounge where I couldn't resist having seconds of their delicious panna cotta. Dinner included wagon service with entertaining staff interactions that made me eat more than expected despite being full! The dining area was spacious and comfortable for a leisurely meal. It was such a wonderful accommodation that I can't wait to visit again!

The bath and meals are top-class.
This was my third visit. After several years, I returned and found that the bath, breakfast, and dinner buffet remain top-class. The spacious bath and delicious meals were truly satisfying. However, the welcome drink that used to be available was no longer offered (perhaps it could still be requested, but check-in has been switched to an unmanned machine). On the other hand, one concerning point—also mentioned by the hotel staff—is the large number of stink bugs and ladybugs inside both public areas and rooms. For instance, they were clustered around elevator lights before boarding or left marks on room curtains where bugs had been squashed. This might be quite distressing for those who are not fond of insects... Although nearby accommodations seem to share access to baths, this hotel's facilities are more convenient and spacious. Perhaps offering alternative services would better satisfy guests staying here.

At this Accommodation Fee...
This time, we stayed as a group of three using the special Diamond Member benefits. We stayed in the Ladies' Premium 76 sqm room with two women and one man. By using points from Date City donations, we were able to stay at nearly half the price. Additionally, the stay included access to the N Lounge, where we enjoyed Toyoura strawberry wine. Upon entering the room, we were amazed by its spaciousness. The bathroom sinks could accommodate three people simultaneously. The refrigerator was stocked with four drinks per person, including alcoholic beverages, which was delightful. There was also a bottle of sparkling wine and a special pudding made by the head chef for each guest. At the dinner venue, each person was served a glass of sparkling wine. The sliding door between the bedroom and living room helped us avoid being disturbed by snoring, which was very important for our family. We usually book two rooms at hotels, which can be costly, so this was a great help. The breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious, though the tempura batter was a bit hard and not to our liking. The steak was tender and tasty, but when it comes to Green Wind Resort, we were hoping for roast beef, which was not offered this time, leaving us a bit disappointed. Overall, the flavors were mild and enjoyable. The foreign staff members were also doing their best. The baths and saunas were plentiful, allowing us to relax without feeling crowded. However, as is common with Noguchi Kanko hotels, the room windows resembled those of regular houses, and we felt they could use some improvement. Lastly, we played parent-child badminton with enthusiasm despite our age, but I ended up injuring myself by overexerting and tripping. Fortunately, it was just a bruise and nothing serious. Please be careful and enjoy the onsen!
