A visit to Tateyama for mountain climbing after several years

It was my first visit in several years, and the onsen was perfect for soothing my tired body after climbing Mt. Tateyama. I stayed in a different room at the annex this time, which was spacious and comfortable. However, having to step outside to access the onsen was a slight drawback. The most disappointing aspect of my stay was the meals. Compared to before, there were fewer dishes and the quality seemed slightly diminished. At first, I thought I might have been mistaken about the room or misremembered, but when I checked photos from my previous visit on an old phone, it confirmed that both the number of dishes and their content had declined slightly. While this may be due to rising costs of goods and labor in recent times, meals are an essential part of travel enjoyment. It would be great if there were more options available in reservation plans with varying course selections to cater to different age groups. That said, the onsen remains excellent as always, and the staff continue to provide outstanding service just like before. It’s a very pleasant accommodation where you can truly relax—highly recommended for everyone!
