If you're a younger generation!
The staff were young and hardworking, which was great. While some could benefit from more experience and composure, it wasn't a major issue. The meals were delicious, featuring a variety of Japanese and Western dishes made with local ingredients. The Hotel's proud Onsen was enjoyable, but the not-so-spacious main bath and the separation of the outdoor bath were slightly concerning. Since it was an off-peak season, this wasn’t an issue, but I wonder how it would be during busy periods. The Room was spacious enough and functional; however, I felt that more thought should be given to the placement of heating equipment. The heater next to the bed wasn’t comfortable due to its noise and airflow. Additionally, during colder seasons with stronger heating needs, measures like humidifiers are essential to address dryness concerns. Overall impressions were good; however, as part of an older generation, navigating through the large facility could be confusing at times—perhaps this wouldn’t have been an issue if I were younger!

A stay with breathtaking snow-view Onsen and exquisite cuisine.
During the snowy season, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of a silver-white landscape from the open-air bath, truly experiencing the luxury of "Yukimi Onsen." The Onsen is spacious with perfectly warm water that soothes you to your core. The staff were kind and attentive, providing excellent Shuttle Service and handling luggage with care, making for a very comfortable stay. The nearby ski resort offered surprisingly good snow quality for March, allowing us to fully enjoy skiing and snowboarding. The slopes were not crowded, making it easy for beginners to practice and improve their skills. The meals were absolutely delicious. The kaiseki cuisine made with local ingredients was thoughtfully prepared in every dish, allowing us to savor the flavors of Gifu. The taste of Hida beef and fresh river fish was exceptional—mealtime became something we eagerly looked forward to. Next time we visit, I’d love to try spring mountain vegetable picking as well. It’s wonderful how each season offers its own unique charm. Overall, we had an amazing holiday enjoying Onsen baths amidst snowy scenery paired with exquisite cuisine. We look forward to visiting again in spring or summer to experience nature during those seasons as well. It was also delightful that both the head chef and manager personally greeted us during our stay!

The review was highly rated, but...
I stayed here with high review ratings while visiting Shirakawa-go, but I wondered if it was really that highly rated. They seemed to be particular about the meals, but there were many aspects that felt lacking. For example, I thought the steamed bun would be warm, but it was very cold to the touch. The braised pork with foie gras might be an attempt to add a touch of luxury, but it was just more fat on fatty pork. The whelk was rubbery, and I questioned the necessity of an escargot-style dish in this course. There was a detailed explanation of the soy sauce among the descriptions of the carefully selected ingredients, and when I looked it up, it was full of additives, which is rare for sweet soy sauce. The pickles were so vividly colored that I suspected they were dyed, among other personal concerns. The soba and sashimi were delicious. The meat was also tasty, but the enoki mushrooms on the side were dry, making them look sad. I think the bath is small for the size of the hotel. The semi-open-air bath feels quite cramped with about five people, and when I tried the single-person bath on the side, it was too lukewarm and cold. It was fortunate that a few people had just left, but you can't relax unless the bath is a bit larger. Also, while I understood their focus on the hot water, it felt like there wasn't enough. I've stayed at a ryokan in Gora where the washing area overflowed with water, and at a ryokan in Awara Onsen where the water gushed out with great force, and I thought, as an amateur, that if more water doesn't flow out, the old water won't be flushed out. The interior was also slightly chilly. Considering the price, I understand that not everything can be perfect, but since it's in the same price range as a hotel in Hakuba that I liked and stayed at several times, I couldn't help but compare and had some reservations. The staff were all pleasant, which was very nice.

Comfortable Stay
The staff's response was courteous and wonderful, and the Hotel was kept clean, allowing for a comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious, but personally, I would have preferred if the dinner included more food originating from Gifu rather than seafood. The quality of the Onsen water was excellent. It would be nice to have an open-air bath where you can gaze at the starry sky.
