  They provided attentive, detailed service.

  It was a truly wonderful Hotel. Not only the Onsen, but also the Room interior and the restaurant atmosphere blended Japanese elements with a touch of elegance, and we thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious setting. During our stay, we needed to visit a hospital, and the staff kindly found one for us and promptly arranged a taxi, which was a great help. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

  Birthday Visit

  I chose a room with an open-air bath. The bath was nice, but it was disappointing that there was no view at all. Also, the amenities were limited. Since this is a luxury Hotel, it would be better to provide branded amenities. There was bar soap at the sink, but it wasn’t convenient because it couldn’t be used immediately after pressing and took extra effort.

At the same time, we sincerely apologize that there were aspects of your stay you did not fully enjoy. Although you stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, we regret that we did not meet your expectations regarding the view. Our Rooms with open-air baths are designed with privacy in mind; however, for guests who prioritize the view, we will work to improve our process so that we can confirm preferences in advance and guide guests to a Room where they can better enjoy the scenery. As a luxury Hotel, we should provide quality and selection that fully satisfy our guests, and we take concerns about difficult-to-use pump dispensers and insufficient amenities very seriously.   The delicious dinner was truly soothing.

  I was really looking forward to dinner. It was extremely delicious. However, choosing a Room with an open-air bath was a mistake. The water felt slippery, and when I got out of the bath I slipped on the stone floor and fell, hitting both knees and my calves. I ended up with large bruises over my calves, and they have become scars that will never fade. I’m very sad. Please, I’m asking you—handrails are necessary. If an elderly person were to hit their head, it could be very serious. I will not stay at this Hotel again, because I don’t want to risk getting another permanent scar like this. That said, the dinner was delicious and the staff were friendly and smiling, so I may come back for a meal in the future. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

  We might be happy to welcome guests from overseas.

  The greenery and breeze of Arashiyama are wonderfully refreshing. Enjoying coffee on the terrace is pure bliss. Their response after I requested an air purifier was excellent. The meals were delicious for both dinner and breakfast, though the red miso soup with wakame was a bit disappointing. Having champagne in a separate building before dinner, served with snacks, was a nice touch. Overall, considering the Room design and layout, I felt it might be especially enjoyable for international guests.

  It was a great accommodation.

  The stay exceeded my expectations. This is a high-quality Hotel, recommended for travelers who want to indulge a little and truly relax. I made a Reservation for a standard Room through IKYU, then contacted the Hotel and upgraded to a Room with an open-air bath—highly recommended. Both dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented and delicious, and the service timing was excellent. We changed the rickshaw plan from the bamboo grove to a town tour starting from the Hotel; the driver’s conversation was enjoyable, they took photos for us, and it felt well worth the additional fee. From the evening champagne service through checkout the next day, we were able to spend quiet, unhurried time throughout our stay.

  The location along t...

  The location along the Arashiyama and Hozugawa River is wonderful, and we were able to enjoy a quiet time surrounded by nature. The interior has a calm atmosphere, offering a space where you can feel the unique charm of Kyoto. During our stay, we took a rickshaw from the Accommodation. The guide carefully explained Arashiyama’s scenery and history, and it was memorable to enjoy the area from a different perspective than on foot. Together with our stay, it became a special experience. I felt this Accommodation is perfect for those who want to enjoy sightseeing while also valuing time to relax at the Hotel.

  There are still some details to be improved.

  The amenities are too few, and there was no face wash. While focusing on Japanese style, the concept seems off—bathroom doors should open automatically. The front desk bathroom is too narrow, making it uncomfortable to use. It's unacceptable that there are no electric vehicle chargers, especially in Kyoto. All parking spaces should have 200-volt chargers installed, with at least two fast chargers of 150 kW in one area. Not having car chargers nowadays feels outdated. No car charger, narrow bathrooms that don't open automatically—it all feels old-fashioned. Room wear is needed; sleeping in a yukata is uncomfortable and cold. Electric blankets should be available for rent—other hotels provide them. For example, Roku Kyoto offers free parking and charging services. Most luxury hotels offer such amenities as standard; however, this Hotel lacks proper bathrooms and amenities and doesn't even provide EV charging facilities. Hotels like Shisui in Nara also fall short on these aspects of being a luxury hotel; it makes me not want to return despite the good service from staff—the female staff were all very kind and charming. While maintaining Japanese aesthetics is important for a high-end Hotel under Marriott's name, improvements are necessary. Additionally: - There aren't enough trash bins or tissues provided; the trash bins are too small to be practical. - The hairdryer provided was too heavy to use comfortably.

  The staff were warm ...

  The staff were warm and made for a healing time. It is the perfect location for sightseeing in Arashiyama! This time, it was with my husband on a business trip, but next time, I would like to bring my parents, children, and friends, as it is a highly recommended place.
