    I stayed at Fuga for...

    I stayed at Fuga for my first trip with my boyfriend, and the staff provided very clear and polite explanations, which made everything easy to understand. The Room was clean and very nice! We talked about wanting to come back again on our way home!

    A Ryokan you'll want to stay at again and again.

    The cuisine is incredibly delicious. The traditional Japanese dishes, crafted with the essence of the 24 seasonal divisions and perfected over many years by the late head chef, continue to be faithfully passed down, leaving a deep impression on my heart. When I stayed here in early spring this year and expressed my gratitude by saying, "Thank you for always providing such wonderful meals," the head chef humbly responded with a radiant smile—a memory that remains vivid to this day. Meals with a story are truly delightful. This is a wonderful ryokan where you can always feel warm and gentle emotions.

    Completely satisfied.

    From the warm welcome to the farewell, every staff member we encountered at the hotel provided exceptional and pleasant service. The thoughtful touches, such as sherbet upon arrival and drinks in the evening or after using the large public bath, were delightful. Dinner was a feast of meticulously prepared dishes featuring high-quality Omi beef that we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for accommodating our surprise for a family member with such care. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, and being able to grill fresh seafood was an indulgent experience. Both the facility and room were impeccably clean. Although our elderly relatives chose not to use the large public bath, they were thrilled with having access to their private open-air bath in their room both at night and in the morning. While I am unsure about what constitutes a "reasonable price," based on the level of service, quality of meals, and overall impression of this accommodation's facilities, I believe it was worth every penny. In fact, I felt that the hospitality provided by your staff exceeded expectations for its cost. If given another opportunity to stay here again, I would love to try a different type of room!

    First Accommodation Trip with a Baby Under 1 Year Old!

    I stayed one night at "Manyo" because I wanted a Japanese-style room with a private bath. I was also happy that dinner was served in a private dining room. The room was more spacious than expected, making it a luxurious stay. There were many thoughtful touches, such as the availability of ReFa irons and curling wands, the option to choose colorful yukata freely, and the presence of a massage chair, all of which made for an extremely satisfying experience. The open-air bath in the room automatically filled with Onsen water, so there was no need to fill it manually—being able to bathe anytime was fantastic. However, since it seemed quite visible from outside (I think), using the blinds is essential. One small issue... The futon had noticeable folds from being triple-folded (hard to describe), and I found these creases somewhat uncomfortable when sleeping. Overall though, I thoroughly enjoyed my relaxing stay. This accommodation is also highly recommended for families with babies!

    Very good

    I stayed here for the first time on my way to Okayama. I didn't have high expectations due to the price, but I felt it offered excellent value for money. If I have the chance, I would like to stay at this accommodation again. However, the air conditioning in the hallway leading to the room seemed weak or old, making it hot and reducing my rating slightly. Overall though, it was a very good accommodation.

    Special Floor - Beglamping

    The staff were kind and had a welcoming smile, leaving a great impression. The room was spacious and new, with stylish and luxurious touches in the furniture, coffee cups, and even the complimentary drinks. It is one of the few accommodations I would love to visit again.

    Baby-Friendly Accommodation

    I stayed with my 11-month-old daughter. The accommodation provided baby amenities and rental items, and thanks to the baby bed lent to us during meals, we were able to enjoy our meals at a relaxed pace. The staff were kind, and the onsen was very pleasant. It would be even better if there were diaper-changing stations in the men's restroom. It was an accommodation I would love to use again. Thank you very much!

    We had a great time.

    The food was delicious, even with some adjustments made due to my dietary restrictions. I was especially surprised by the staff's willingness to adjust the temperature of the private open-air bath in our Room. Since it was a hot summer day, the water felt too warm for me to stay in for long. Initially, I thought it couldn't be helped because of the season and that it was a natural hot spring, but when I consulted with the staff, they kindly adjusted it for me. After that, I could enjoy longer and more relaxing baths. I rated three stars for the guest Room and amenities due to two points: 1) At check-in, we were told we could choose a yukata from various patterns if we preferred something other than what was provided in our Room. However, there was only one yukata available in our Room when we entered. This meant having to go back to reception later on just to pick one out. It would have been better if we had been given this option before heading into our Room initially. 2) It would be great if cotton swabs were added as part of the bathroom amenities. Watching the sunrise from our private open-air bath and enjoying an excellent breakfast buffet lineup were truly unforgettable experiences! Thank you very much!

    It was excellent!

    The accommodation was very clean and did not feel old at all. The room was very stylish, and the private bath was a relaxing and stylish space. The water had a silky texture, leaving my skin smooth. The room service was excellent, the bed had just the right firmness, and I slept soundly. The meals were plentiful, and every dish was truly delicious. Unusually for these days, there seemed to be more Japanese staff than foreign staff, with many senior staff members rather than younger ones. Everyone provided such warm hospitality that it felt truly comfortable. I also appreciated how kind they were to children. I travel often, but this has been the best accommodation I've stayed at in recent times. Thank you very much!

    Highly Satisfied

    We stayed as a couple. Stayed in a room with an open-air bath. The bath with a view of Lake Biwa was amazing. Both breakfast and dinner were very delicious and highly satisfying. Additionally, the staff's hospitality was excellent and greatly appreciated.

    Wedding Anniversary

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The open-air bath in the Room was amazing, and the food was delicious. We also enjoyed the festive May-themed tableware. The staff who served us were very polite and attentive. There was champagne and wine in the Room, and when we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, they kindly added a special dessert plate for us, which made us very happy. It was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you so much! We look forward to visiting again.

    It was a wonderful stay. Thank you very much. I was highly satisfied with both the Facility and the meals, and despite the rising Hotel prices, it felt like great value for money. The staff were incredibly kind, including providing tourist information, which deeply impressed me. I have three minor comments to share: 1. Upon arrival, many staff members welcomed us warmly, which was fantastic; however, it seems that guests are expected to park their own cars in the parking lot. It would be appreciated if valet parking could be offered where we could hand over our keys. 2. There is a magnificent grand piano in excellent condition that I had the chance to play briefly. It appears to be rarely used, which feels like a missed opportunity. Perhaps you could organize mini-concerts featuring local music students or piano teachers for short performances? 3. The happy hour was wonderful; however, drinks were self-service. It would enhance the experience if drinks could be served directly by staff in a bar-style setting instead of self-service options.

    This was our first time staying for one night. The meals were delicious, and the staff were very pleasant. The Omi beef shabu-shabu, in particular, was extremely tasty and made the whole family very satisfied. As for the Room, it felt a bit plain. Although there was an alcove, it lacked flowers or hanging scrolls, giving off a somewhat lonely atmosphere. The toilet got clogged during the night, and when I tried to call the front desk using the small in-house phone located under the TV shelf, it was hard to find and didn’t connect properly. In the end, I had to go directly to the front desk myself. There wasn’t a clock in the Room either; even a small one would have been convenient to have. Regarding amenities placed in the washroom—such as toothbrushes and combs—they were all piled up in a basket which made them difficult to take out without causing everything to topple over repeatedly. It would be better if they were arranged more clearly and accessibly. It also seemed odd that face towels were stored inside a closet instead of being placed in the washroom where they are needed most often. We chose this place because of its good Reviews; while we thoroughly enjoyed your delicious meals, some aspects left us feeling slightly disappointed overall!

    Unfortunately.

    I used this place once a year, but I probably won't go again. Prices are rising everywhere, making it tough. Cleaning can't be neglected, and cutting labor costs would make it like the nearby Hanakaido. However, the facility, cleaning, and service were good. That leaves the meals. More than half of the dishes were pre-made; while they use high-quality Omi beef as expected, the rest was... not impressive. 90% of the cost is for the Room fee and Omi beef. After being disappointed with Hanakaido, I had hopes for Ryokusuitei... It seems no one can beat skyrocketing prices these days.

    Highly recommended

    The atmosphere is wonderful, and both the Onsen and the private open-air bath in the room are exceptional! The ReFa device was also available, which made me very satisfied! The dinner was luxurious and enjoyable, though I personally would have preferred flavors that highlighted the natural taste of the ingredients. Breakfast was also lavish; however, while the fish didn't leave a strong impression, the bread was incredibly delicious—so much so that I wondered if it came from a bakery!

    Suitable for infants.

    I was looking at various accommodations because I had an infant, and I think many parents worry about amenities, baths, meals, etc. I was one of those who worried a lot too. However, this accommodation had rooms with open-air baths, baby food available, and even futons for babies, so I felt reassured and chose this place. When we actually visited, it was just as I imagined. During the meal, my child fell asleep and I wondered what to do when they surprised me by preparing a baby bed. Even with an infant, you can enjoy your trip with great peace of mind here. Highly recommended!

    I always stay at my regular accommodation in Ogoto Onsen.

    The cuisine is truly exceptional. Dishes beautifully express the changing Japanese seasons and the 24 solar terms, offering both visual and flavorful delight. Among them, the fermented fish dishes prepared by the head chef—funazushi, ayuzushi, and sabazushi—are exquisite. For connoisseurs of fine drinks, these are highly recommended as an additional order. The refreshing acidity and delicate umami are perfectly balanced with a rich aroma, creating a superb pairing with Japanese sake brewed from Omi rice. The onsen features a silky alkaline spring quality that is gentle on the skin, leaving it smooth and moisturized. Bathing while gazing at Lake Biwa offers an unparalleled sense of refreshment. All staff provide attentive service; however, the young staff at the private dining restaurant "Shi-Ki" deliver outstanding hospitality. Delicious cuisine and sake can be enjoyed even more deeply thanks to their excellent care. I am already looking forward to my next stay!

    Everything was perfect and truly impressive.

    I stayed at the accommodation with a long-time friend. Upon arrival, a staff member kindly greeted us at the parking lot, and throughout our stay until check-out, every staff member provided warm, attentive, and cheerful service that deeply moved us. The room offered a stunning view of Lake Biwa, and with the private open-air bath in the room, it felt as though we had traveled far away despite living locally. It was truly relaxing and inspiring. The next morning, we were able to witness an incredibly beautiful sunrise. Of course, the meals were not only delicious but also beautifully presented with great care and detail. We thoroughly enjoyed them. This stay created wonderful memories with my friend for which I am very grateful. I definitely plan to stay here again in the future. Thank you so much!

    Reserved a room with an open-air bath [Manyo]. Upon arrival, I was guided to a second-floor room near the main road, making it disappointing as passersby could see into the open-air bath. The dinner also did not meet my expectations, leaving me regretting trusting this site for the reservation. I should have researched more thoroughly.

    Every year, I stay at several ryokans and hotels, and all of them have been excellent accommodations. The hospitality was particularly impressive, with polite and kind communication. During meals, the attentive service left a very positive impression. The amenities were well-equipped, and I enjoyed a comfortable stay in a clean room.

    Overall, I am satisfied.

    While the hospitality, such as happy hour and post-bath ice cream, was appreciated, the welcome drink was just a cup of green tea, and the check-in process took too long (despite it not being crowded). The private open-air bath in the room was comfortable; however, the shower hose inside was discolored and dirty, which was unpleasant. On a positive note, the service during meals was excellent and made for an enjoyable experience.

    For a 60th birthday trip

    A colleague recommended this accommodation, saying it was wonderful, so we decided to reserve it for my husband's 60th birthday celebration. Before our stay, every time I saw my colleague, they would say how great it was and that they wanted to visit again—and now I truly understand why. The food was delicious, the room was comfortable, and we enjoyed the private bath multiple times. During dinner, when we toasted, a staff member kindly asked what the occasion was and offered us warm congratulations. They even prepared a celebratory dessert plate and gifted my husband a Shigaraki teacup. He was delighted, and our entire family had such a joyful and memorable trip. Thank you very much! We hope to return with our whole family again someday!

    A regular onsen Stays...

    The staff's attentiveness was wonderful. The free services at the Ao Terrace and the post-bath library were also very good. Dinner was visually appealing and delicious. We stayed in the Room Koyu, and the individual pudding for each person was delicious. The all-you-can-eat ice cream was also very good. I think the Bellaping breakfast set should be abolished immediately... I thought a regular breakfast would be better. It was disappointing that the Onsen was not a natural hot spring flow but circulated, and the large public bath was a bit small.

    I was extremely satisfied.

    This was my second visit. The Onsen was so smooth, like lotion, that I wanted to stay in it forever. For dinner, there were many ingredients that all of us were not fond of, so we left some behind. For breakfast, it was nice to be able to grill our favorite fish ourselves at the buffet. It would be nice if the checkout time was 30 minutes later.

    The food was delicio...

    The food was delicious, especially the Omi beef shabu-shabu was excellent. For us traveling by train, the shuttle service from the property was a very appreciated service, and this time the shuttle to the nearest cable car and Keihan station was particularly helpful. We are grateful for the staff's thoughtfulness.
