    The perfect accommodation for guests traveling with dogs

    We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath and a private dog run. All meals were served in the Room, so we could dine together with our dog. We enjoyed the open-air bath while watching our dog play in the dog run. The Room was spotless and very well cleaned. All the staff were dog lovers and treated our dog wonderfully. The meat at dinner was delicious—on par with a high-end restaurant. However, we have big appetites, so we would have liked a bit more food. This has become an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again. Please give it a try!

    First Visit to Hakone Ungaiso

    For trips with our dog, we always choose the Regina group Hotels for their outstanding staff hospitality. This time, we finally made our first visit to this property, which we’d had our eye on for a while. With just 10 Rooms, it’s a compact Facility where you can complete everything—check-in and check-out, an open-air Onsen bath with excellent water quality, and carefully crafted kaiseki cuisine—all in your Room. The morning soak while enjoying views of the Hakone outer rim mountains from our second-floor Room was simply the best.

    The meals felt a bit...

    The meals felt a bit limited, and I noticed a dog smell in the lobby. The Onsen was excellent, and the view was great. Next time, I’d like to stay at the newer property in Karuizawa.

    The food was very good, but

    The room attendant’s service and the food were excellent, but considering the price range of a luxury Ryokan, we could constantly hear noise from the floor above; we heard footsteps and loud voices all night and couldn’t sleep.

    This is a repeat booking.

    We stayed at another Accommodation last month, and every Accommodation was wonderful not only for dogs but also for people. The meals were delicious, and our dog was thrilled. We will visit again in autumn.

    Puppy’s First Trip

    This was our first stay with our dog. All the staff remembered our dog’s name and called him by it, and we could truly feel everyone’s love for dogs, which made our stay very warm and comforting. The Room was very clean, and there was no odor at all—something that can often be a concern at dog-friendly Accommodations. The food was also excellent, and our dog happily finished his meal for dogs. We think this is a wonderful Accommodation where both dogs and their owners can relax with peace of mind. We would definitely like to stay again.

    Excellent cuisine and spotless guest rooms

    Sakura, our 2 kg female Pomeranian, is very sensitive and really struggles to dine with everyone in a restaurant. We chose Ungaiso this time because in-room dining was available. A clean Room with absolutely no odors. Sakura stayed relaxed the entire time, as if she were at home. The price is certainly on the higher side, but it was a wonderful 2 nights and 3 days that will remain a lifelong memory. The private open-air Onsen bath attached to the Room was also outstanding. The meals in particular were lightly seasoned with flavorful dashi that brought out the quality of the ingredients; the rice was freshly cooked and the miso soup was delicious—we ended up finishing everything. This Hotel truly embodies heartfelt service. A perfect stay in every way. Thank you very much.

    I’m glad we were abl...

    I’m glad we were able to stay with our 17-year-old senior dog. We could enjoy both the meals and the Onsen in the Room, so we felt at ease staying together. Because our dog is elderly and wakes up many times during the night to use the toilet and sometimes walks around in circles, we mentioned this in advance, and they prepared a large, lightweight round pen for us. Thanks to that, our dog was able to spend time as usual. The Onsen in the Room had a large sliding door, giving it an open-air bath feel. The meals were also very delicious. Above all, everyone on the staff had wonderful smiles and service—this was truly a heartwarming Accommodation.

    It was a great trip.

    This was my third stay at Regina, and the in-Room dining was so comfortable—it was my first time trying it. At the restaurant, our dog couldn’t settle down and we couldn’t enjoy our meal, but this time we were able to dine calmly in the Room. We stayed with a newborn, and they prepared various items such as a bed and amenities for us, which was very helpful. All the staff were friendly, and their thoughtful attention to detail made our stay very comfortable. The only thing that concerned me was that when I opened the bathroom window, I could smell cigarette smoke from next door (maybe?), so I ended up closing it. I understand it may be difficult to change operations, but it would have been even better if all Rooms were non-smoking. Overall, we were very satisfied.

    Thank you for your hospitality. It was a dog-friendly Accommodation.

    We stayed as a family of three with two small dogs in a Room with a private dog run. The Room was spacious, and the non-slip flooring made it safe and comfortable for our dogs. Puppy pads and paw wipes were also provided, which was reassuring. The dog run was covered with wood chips, and our dogs happily played there. There is no large public bath, but the in-room open-air bath has great water quality, so we enjoyed it many times. The meals served in the Room were delicious, and we were able to relax. I think even large dogs could stay here without any issues. There is a 200V charger in the parking lot, but it requires a Reservation and comes with an additional fee. We noticed some footsteps from the second floor until late at night, but since this isn’t an exclusive-use property, that’s understandable. It’s very close to Gora Station, making sightseeing very convenient. The staff were polite and spoke kindly to our dogs—I almost felt bad for how attentive they were. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality.

    The Room was disappointing.

    I stayed in a first-floor Room with a wood-chip garden. The Onsen was fed directly from the source and was very good. However, the garden was surrounded by walls and felt enclosed. The Room was also small, and the furniture felt like that of a Business Hotel. The cleaning was thorough and everything was clean, and the staff were very pleasant and provided great service, but I don’t think I would stay again. The meals were Japanese for both nights, and on the second day I ended up leaving quite a lot. It would be nice to have a Western option. Even just some plants or flowers in the Room or garden would help reduce the closed-in feeling.

    Everything is excellent, but?

    I enjoyed the open-air bath in the Room five times, and the staff’s hospitality—and of course the food—were outstanding. However, one thing concerned me: a young female staff member stood by the gate at the entrance in the cold, continuing to wait to greet arriving guests. It was an extremely cold day with light snow falling, and I felt very sorry for her—it was heartbreaking. These days most people arrive using navigation systems, so I wondered whether this level of service is really necessary.

    Dog-friendly Accommodation

    Having stayed at several accommodations in the Regina group, all of which are dog-friendly and leave a good impression, this particular accommodation stood out as especially welcoming to dogs. From check-in to in-room dining, the staff interacted with our dog at various moments, leaving them looking very satisfied. The meals served for in-room dining were delicious and flawless. The room's private open-air bath was a great feature, allowing use at any time. However, since there are no vending machines available, it might be slightly inconvenient if you need drinks like alcohol at night. It’s recommended to purchase and bring them beforehand.

    Delicious meals

    The warm smiles of the staff were so comforting, allowing us to relax and unwind. Even our little one, who was initially anxious in an unfamiliar place, was lovingly cared for and happily wagged their tail. The meals are the most important part for me as a pet owner. I find joy in savoring delicious dishes little by little, and with such a variety offered, I enjoyed every bite in no time—it was pure happiness. The flavors were just to my liking, with a gentle taste enhanced by rich dashi broth. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you!

    A Reward for Your Family

    I recently stayed at Regina Resort Hakone Ungaiso. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality; all the staff were always smiling and amazing. Even our dog seemed to enjoy it! The meals, in particular, showcased the chef's dedication, and I was pleasantly surprised by how sweet and delicious the rice was. Every dish was excellent. Having stayed at many places before, this resort ranks in my top three. Everything was so good that I didn’t leave a single bite behind. I look forward to visiting again in the future!

    I have visited vario...

    I have visited various facilities because I love Regina, but this one was particularly satisfying. Our family dog is usually very shy and doesn't warm up to anyone, but here, she became attached to two female staff members, which surprised us. Perhaps dogs can sense these things (laughs). She also seemed to adore the staff member in charge of serving meals and eagerly waited for her arrival with excitement. Additionally, a male staff member kindly provided the bus schedule promptly and noticed when our dog needed water, preparing it right away with care. Thanks to all the warm support from the staff, we had a very comfortable stay. We would love to visit again!

    Highly Satisfied

    We have stayed at various accommodations that allow pets, but this accommodation is among the best. Each time, we prioritize hospitality, meals, and services for pets. For us as a senior couple with a senior dog, our main goal for travel is to relax in a comfortable room, enjoy the onsen, and savor delicious meals. Perhaps younger and more energetic large dogs might benefit from having a spacious dog run. Although it can be difficult to secure a reservation here, we would love to stay again.

    Satisfaction guaranteed at 200%!

    This is probably my 5th or 6th stay, and every time I leave feeling extremely satisfied and happy. This time, something truly wonderful happened for our dog, and I am filled with gratitude. Not only was the meal for our dog excellent, but the in-room dining was also incredibly delicious. This is an accommodation I would want to visit even if I no longer have a dog in the future.

    It was our first trip with our beloved dog and our first stay at Regina Resort. There were various experiences, but in one word, it was an excellent Hotel, and we definitely want to stay again. During our stay, due to our carelessness, there was a small accident involving our dog. However, the staff responded with such kindness and warmth that we truly felt saved. Our dog might have been momentarily startled, but thanks to the heartfelt support from check-in to check-out, we were able to spend our time with peace of mind. The food was delicious, and we are filled with gratitude for the warm atmosphere throughout the Hotel. Thank you so much! We will come again.

    We offer excellent service and hospitality.

    One of the few pet-friendly accommodations we can visit without a car. We stayed here before and were very satisfied, so we made a reservation again this year. Conveniently located just a short uphill walk from Gora Station. The flooring and in-room dining are designed to ensure comfort for your beloved pet. Amenities and pet supplies are well-prepared and available for use. There is also a variety of meals and treats for pets to choose from, which was delightful. The staff showed great affection towards pets, making our dog extremely happy. On our way back, they even provided an ice pack for our pet's carrier bag, allowing us to travel home comfortably even in the heat. Of course, the quality of meals and the relaxing baths were exceptional for humans as well. We enjoyed a luxurious time at this accommodation.

    Relax and unwind.

    This is our second stay at this accommodation. Once again, despite bringing along our barking dog, the kind staff made both the dog and us feel relaxed and refreshed. Having meals in the room was truly stress-free, allowing us to savor the dishes at our own pace—absolutely satisfying.     First Trip with Your Dog

    The staff's thoughtfulness was truly touching. Not only were they kind to dogs, but their service to people was also exceptional. The meals were perfectly portioned and seasoned, which delighted my mother and aunt. Unfortunately, it rained, so we couldn't let the dog run freely in the garden, but we enjoyed making paw print stamps and relaxing in the Onsen in our room. The wood chips were soft and gentle on the feet. Although there were quite a few bugs during this season, which was a bit disappointing, it couldn't be helped. Overall, it was a very satisfying trip. We would love to visit again!

    The hospitality and meals were excellent, living up to the Regina name, and we were satisfied overall. However, considering the price of 90,000 yen for two people in one Room with one dog (almost full price before discounts) and comparing it to other Regina locations even within Hakone Gora, there is room for improvement in terms of luxury and uniqueness of the Facility. Additionally, while the limited space is understandable, the front desk felt too small, and the dog run could be improved as well. These are areas that could be refined moving forward.

    Traveling with both children and dogs often requires some compromises, but the clean room, private open-air bath, and in-room dining allowed us to relax without worrying about our surroundings.     Exceptional hospitality

    I stayed for one night with the Standard Plan. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive, even remembering the names of our two dogs in advance, which made us feel very welcomed from check-in. The room was exceptionally clean and well-prepared, and there was no pet odor anywhere in the accommodation; every corner was meticulously cared for. The dog run was a great feature, and perhaps because there aren’t too many rooms, we didn’t overlap with other dogs during our time there. This allowed our timid dogs to enjoy themselves comfortably. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, making for a truly satisfying experience. Even when our dogs barked during meal service, the staff remained kind and understanding without showing any discomfort—this made us so glad we chose this accommodation. Upon departure, a male staff member who we hadn’t met since check-in guided us to our car and kindly asked if “Rita-chan” and “Juni-chan” had enjoyed their stay—it left such an impression on us! Beyond just cleanliness or delicious meals, it’s clear that the exceptional hospitality of your staff is what makes this accommodation truly special. We also received a paw print stamp as a keepsake; even then, your team treated us warmly with great care—it was deeply moving. Every single member of your team showed genuine kindness and attention to detail throughout our stay. Although it was only one night this time around, I hope to visit again for a longer stay next time. Thank you so much for all your thoughtful gestures from arrival to departure—I look forward to visiting again!
