    A one-of-a-kind special suite. It’s truly moving, but it also raises expectations.

    The “2026 Renovation: Special Room with a World Heritage View” we stayed in was brand new, just reopened after the renovation. At the time of our Reservation, there were still only a few photos available, so I was honestly quite anxious. But once we arrived, all of those worries disappeared. The Room is full of thoughtful touches and hidden surprises, making it genuinely fun—like exploring and wondering what you’ll find next. The sauna, cold plunge bath, and open-air bath alone are more than appealing, but beyond that you can feel the owner’s attention to detail and playful creativity throughout. The stay itself felt like an experience. The meals were excellent as well. What stood out most was the live flute performance during dinner. The musician played while moving from table to table, creating a special atmosphere that’s hard to find at large hotels. Another highlight is the warmth that comes with a privately run Accommodation. Everyone on staff was polite and kind, offering heartfelt hospitality rather than the standardized service typical of big Resort Hotels. That said, to be completely honest, the price is quite high. This Special Room is in a completely different price range compared with other rooms here, so naturally expectations for an exceptional level of exclusivity are higher. I was very satisfied with the Room, dining, and overall experience value; however, compared with other Accommodations in this price range, I found the welcome on arrival and send-off at departure slightly underwhelming. At luxury Ryokan and high-end hotels alike, first and last impressions are an important part of the service. If this area were strengthened further, overall satisfaction would improve significantly. Even so, this Room has a unique charm you won’t find elsewhere. It’s expensive, but it truly felt like a special stay worth experiencing at least once. Expanding the photos and videos would help more guests understand just how wonderful it is.

    It was a great trip!

    I stayed here during Golden Week! There were a lot of people around Nara Park, but the area around the Hotel felt like a quiet residential neighborhood, so I was able to relax in peace. I was a little disappointed that I had to close the curtain for privacy when using the open-air bath in the Room (though I understand it couldn’t be helped). The Room was spacious and very clean. Personally, I also loved how cute the coffee and tea cups were—it made me happy. I booked a plan with two meals included, and both were beautifully presented, with great taste and satisfying portions! I stopped by before check-in to leave my luggage, and they gave me a map of the area and explained recommended places in detail, including how long it would take from the Hotel. At check-in as well, the staff member who showed me to my Room told me about some famous shops—everyone’s thoughtfulness truly meant a lot to me. Thank you very much!!

    It’s a bit hard to understand.

    I was surprised that no one at the station could help. Even after arriving at the Accommodation, it was hard to find my way around, and the layout inside was confusing. However, the meals and bath were great, so I was able to relax.

    Accommodation near tourist attractions

    The room was a combination of two previous rooms, possibly because it was an annex. The open-air bath was old and narrow, so no one but me used it. There were two air conditioners, but they were inconvenient to operate. There were also two TVs in the room; if this is to be used as one room in the future, perhaps having one large TV would be better. It was convenient that the public bath was on the same floor. However, I felt that the bath towels became smaller midway through our stay. The meals were good overall. However, temperature control in the dining area was not ideal, and service was very slow. My second drink order at dinner never arrived and had to be canceled. During breakfast, one person’s soy sauce dish for sashimi had no soy sauce in it, and there seemed to be an inconsistency in portion sizes for small servings of salmon roe (I mentioned this directly). While I understand there may have been a shortage of staff during New Year’s holidays, if minimum service cannot be provided despite charging New Year rates, perhaps accommodations should limit guest intake during such times. Over recent years we’ve stayed at multiple accommodations via IKYU.com and finally managed to secure this place for a family gathering after a long time—but unfortunately it left us disappointed. Would staying at their newer accommodation have been better?

    The meals and service are satisfactory, but enhancing the public bath facilities, including open-air baths, would make it perfect.

    The staff are friendly.

    Unfortunately, I ended up with a Japanese-style room due to insufficient prior research, as I was hoping for a bed. However, thank you to all the staff for your thoughtfulness. The map showing the shortcut to Todai-ji Temple was very helpful. I also appreciated having dinner in a private room. I will visit again when I return to Nara!

    I hope to enjoy a meal here next time. Although it was a short stay, my journey in Nara became even more pleasant. Thank you for the memorable photo!

    Excellent hospitality

    The Room was 401, I believe. Although it was described as small, I didn’t feel it was too cramped. I have two requests: The outdoor hot spring bath, which I assume is available only in winter, felt lukewarm even at the hottest setting and was a bit cold. Hotter water would solve this issue. Also, while sleeping on the bed by the window at night, there seemed to be a draft making it chilly. An extra blanket provided in advance would help with this. Overall, I think it's an excellent Facility with great cost performance!
