    A great accommodation.

We stayed as a family in “Miharashi,” and just as the name suggests, the view was wonderful and truly relaxing. The attached open-air bath was spacious enough to stretch out comfortably, and since the water temperature can be adjusted in hourly increments, each of us could enjoy it at our preferred temperature. The private bath was also well maintained, and we found it more comfortable than systems where you can enter freely without reservations. Considering the price, I felt the meals could use slightly higher-grade ingredients, but overall they were more than satisfactory—for example, they included local fish in the sashimi. The specialty deep-fried rockfish with thick sauce was certainly delicious, though I also found myself wanting to try it simply with ponzu for a lighter taste. It would be great if guests could choose between options. The drink selection is quite extensive, but it was disappointing that many of the better items are sold only by the bottle. That said—this isn’t unique to Mizuno-san—but having dinner start no later than 6:30 p.m., even for a late seating, is a bit tough. If you could offer 7:00 p.m., or ideally up to 7:30 p.m., it would make it easier to enjoy lunch or afternoon tea without worrying about timing. It feels like this Accommodation has become an established long-standing one; please keep up this level of service going forward.

    We had a relaxing stay.

We enjoyed delicious meals and a scenic open-air bath, and were able to relax at a leisurely pace. It was disappointing that the Diamond benefits from our previous stay were not available.

    Dear Representative,

At dinner, the staff member in charge came across as curt when we spoke to them. I would have preferred warmer service rather than someone who simply couldn’t handle the job. When I asked for a refill of tea, they reacted as if surprised and ended up bringing only one serving, which made me wonder if they were short-staffed. For the price of this Accommodation, I expected service that matched it.

    Birthday celebration

I traveled with my 94-year-old mother. I was worried that her limited mobility might make things difficult, but the restroom was designed to be accessible by wheelchair, which was very convenient. The Hatsushima Room was very spacious, and the open-air Onsen bath in the Room had a wonderful location—we enjoyed soaking together many times while looking out at the sea. Listening to birdsong, we were able to relax and enjoy long conversations in the bath. Since meals were served in the Room, my mother didn’t have to move around much, which made it easy for her. Thank you for the celebratory champagne and wine. Everyone on staff was very kind, and we had a wonderful time. This is a great Accommodation that cherishes old things, and the furniture in the Room creates a calm, lovely atmosphere. It has become one of the Accommodations I would like to visit again.

    Thank you for your support.

All staff members were sincere and attentive. We truly appreciate your thoughtful care during our stay. One minor disappointment was that the floor mats in the private bath and along the way were soaking wet, and there was no body soap or shampoo provided at the Room’s open-air bath, so we had to bring them from the amenities. Overall, we were satisfied.

This was my first stay. The ocean view from the open-air bath in the Room was stunning, and seeing Hatsushima so close made the steep climb well worth it. The Onsen water was brown and slightly salty—also a first for me. Dinner was excellent, especially the spiny lobster sashimi and the deep-fried scorpionfish. The lobster head was served in miso soup the next morning, so nothing went to waste and I enjoyed it to the fullest. At breakfast, items like mentaiko and rock seaweed were all lightly seasoned with less salt, which I really appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

The ultimate relaxing Accommodation where everything feels perfect.

Perched at the top of a steep hill is the Ryokan “Chikurin-an Mizuno,” a place that feels as if you have the spectacular views all to yourself. Between the parking area and the building, koi fish greet you charmingly. The building itself uses pillars and beams brought from an old traditional house in Niigata, creating a calm, soothing atmosphere throughout. This time we stayed in the Room “Hatsushima.” From the open-air Onsen bath, you can see Hatsushima Island and, beyond it, even the Boso Peninsula—an incredible view. The attendant kindly explained, “It’s rare to see Oshima today.” The open-air Onsen is a brownish, cloudy spring with free-flowing natural hot spring water; living in Osaka, it reminded me of Arima Onsen. When sunlight hits this water, it shines golden and makes you feel truly elegant. After our bath, my wife and I visited the stables. There were two ponies and one thoroughbred—and although I wasn’t entirely sure of their breeds, there were two more horses as well. Every horse was friendly and let us pet them calmly. The caretaker even cut carrots for us to give them as treats, which seemed to make them like us even more. Of course that friendliness depends on each horse’s personality, but more than anything I felt it reflected the wonderful character of those who care for them—and that made me very happy. Dinner was something we looked forward to most: from the appetizers onward everything was thoughtfully prepared. None of the flavors were overly strong; each dish made us excited for what would come next as we checked the menu while waiting. I’m allergic to shrimp so I couldn’t try their famous spiny lobster and was a bit disappointed—but instead, the head chef served grilled blackthroat seaperch (Nodoguro). My wife looked envious (“Lucky!”), so we shared half-and-half. Just as a staff member said—“The chef likes adding beautiful touches”—the dish was garnished with iris flowers, letting us fully enjoy the feeling of May. Near the end of dinner, our attendant said, “Tomorrow’s sunrise is at 4:41 AM.” At first I wondered why she mentioned it—but then I realized we could see sunrise from this Room. My wife and I set our alarm for 4:30. When we woke up, the eastern sky had turned purple; soon after that a bright red sun began to rise. It was solemn in its own way—a view we will never forget. Lastly, my wife especially loved that even something as small as cups by the sink were beautiful ceramic goblets—thoughtful hospitality down to every detail. We will definitely return. Thank you very much.

    A uniquely relaxing Onsen.

This was my second stay. Compared to last time, I stayed in a Western-style Room and brought my pet. The bath was even better than before—slightly cloudy, with pleasantly salty mineral water. It’s spacious enough to stretch out and relax. The Facility garden also moved me deeply with its traditional Japanese design. There are horses as well. The sunrise from the Room and the Hotel’s charming architecture made it an unforgettable stay—definitely one of the Hotels I want to visit again.

    The deep-fried rockfish is exquisite!

We visited to celebrate a birthday. Everything was satisfying—our favorite Accommodation, the meals, the Room, the Onsen, the hospitality, and the location. In particular, the famous deep-fried scorpionfish was superb: crispy skin and fins with tender, flaky flesh. The dishes rich in dashi were also carefully prepared and delicious. The two-room suite featured a spacious dining area and a Japanese-Western style Room with beds that were comfortably firm. The rocking chair was so relaxing I didn’t want to move. The bath overlooking all of Sagami Bay offered a pleasantly salty, cloudy spring. The silky water soaks into your body and leaves your skin unmistakably smooth. The staff in charge of our room kept just the right distance while making conversation enjoyable. Thoughtful service that anticipates what you need—truly comfortable attention to detail. Gazing at the magnificent Sagami Bay right in front of you makes you lose track of time and feel completely relaxed. Highly recommended Accommodation.

An Accommodation That Maximizes Your Satisfaction

This was my first stay in a Room on Hatsushima. I had been really looking forward to it, and the view was even more breathtaking than I expected. We were blessed with great weather, and could clearly see Hatsushima, Oshima, the Miura Peninsula, and even the Boso Peninsula. The quality of the Onsen water and the excellent amenities go without saying. The private open-air bath was also wonderful—I enjoyed it during the day for the views, and at night to take in the sky. Meals are always my greatest pleasure when traveling, and this time was no exception—I was very satisfied. Not only were everything beautifully presented and delicious, with attentive service as well, but I also appreciated the health-conscious approach. It was also heartwarming to see international staff members and younger employees working so hard. Mizuno is a rare Accommodation that has it all—Onsen, cuisine, views, and hospitality—and staying here truly leaves you feeling refreshed. I would love to visit again when the season is pleasant.

    What a wonderful accommodation!!

This stay was truly soothing, thanks to the continuously flowing natural hot-spring bath and the impeccable service from the staff. Although it rained, the warm hospitality of the Shuttle Service team and the person in charge of our Room made us feel genuinely welcomed. The meals were also delicious, and we felt refreshed both physically and mentally—I was truly happy to have found such a wonderful Accommodation. Thank you to all the staff for such a lovely, dreamlike time. We will visit again with friends during the autumn foliage season.

    A Trip to Celebrate a 70th Birthday

Four senior women on a trip where chatting mattered more than sightseeing—even in the pick-up car, we felt like high school girls again, laughing and talking nonstop. After passing through a bamboo grove and getting out of the car, we were greeted by a charming sukiya-style gate. Stepping into the old-house-style entrance, everything was tatami! The Room even had table seating. From the window, the sea of Atami—and Hatsushima right in front of us! Welcomed with matcha tea, our travel mood instantly rose. We quickly headed to the open-air bath, changed into samue loungewear, and took a stroll around the garden. After climbing a slightly steep slope, a pony and horses greeted us leisurely (laugh). Dinner featured many elaborate dishes. Since they knew it was our 70th birthday celebration, they kindly provided a full bottle of champagne—and for me, since I can’t drink alcohol, they also prepared a small bottle of non-alcoholic champagne. Such thoughtful hospitality. They casually told us what time sunrise would be, so rather than forcing ourselves to wake up early, we woke naturally to birdsong and watched the sun rise! Then we enjoyed the private bath again and changed into yukata— Breakfast! Of course it was another spread with so many dishes you couldn’t decide where to start. Thank you to all the staff for preparing our meals and bedding—no matter how much we chatted and laughed loudly, everyone stayed smiling and efficient. The inn was so quiet it felt like only us and the staff were there—no crowds at all. The staff were wonderful, and the private baths were excellent too. The only thing is that the rockfish at dinner was so impressive that we couldn’t finish it—I’m sorry about that. When we left, everyone waved goodbye with warm smiles—it became an unforgettable anniversary trip. Thank you very much. This time I came with friends, but next time I’d love to visit with my husband.

Great views, a wonderful bath, and delicious meals

It was wonderful. The location is far from Atami and up a very steep hill, so it’s not ideal for walking, but I still highly recommend it. The view is spectacular, and the alkaline bath water is excellent. Above all, the meals were great—delicious, and the portions were just right even for us older guests. We would love to stay again!

I stayed here on a trip with friends. The Accommodation is on a hill, so the view was great. We could see the sunrise from our Room. Both the open-air bath in the Room and the private bath had wonderful water and left our skin feeling smooth. Since the baths outside the Room require a private Reservation, it can feel a bit time-pressured, but it was also nice that no other guests came in. The meals were more than enough in quantity. Plenty of seafood. The whole deep-fried scorpionfish, spiny lobster, and sea bream rice were especially luxurious. Our attendant was truly wonderful, and we had an enjoyable, lovely time.

In the midst of a once-in-a-generation heavy snowfall

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. The forecast had predicted snowfall and accumulation, but it ended up snowing far more than we ever expected. It was so cold that we couldn’t soak in the in-room open-air bath. However, since it was free-flowing hot spring water, the water itself was wonderfully warm, so we enjoyed it as a foot bath. The private bath requires stepping outside briefly to get there, but it was very spacious and amazing, so we ended up bathing many times—more than ever before. We were looking forward to the ocean view from above, but unfortunately we could hardly see it. Still, the snowy scenery was incredible. Sunlight streamed through gaps in the clouds and illuminated parts of the sea, and watching that light shift moment by moment felt almost mystical. On the morning of our departure it cleared up completely, so we were able to see the sunrise. It was a perfect morning with snow-covered scenery, sunshine, and the ocean. Meals were served in our Room. The staff member who assisted us took great care of us, and both dinner and breakfast were truly enjoyable and satisfying. We also mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary, and we sincerely appreciate all the thoughtful consideration. Everyone—from those who welcomed us to those at reception—was very kind and created such a warm atmosphere that we were able to relax throughout both days. Thank you very much. On our way home as well, a staff member guided our car even in the freezing cold on icy roads, which made us feel reassured. It really helped us—we got home safely thanks to you. There are still many things we haven’t had a chance to enjoy yet here, so we would definitely love to visit again.

    Relax and feel fully satisfied

We stayed on a warm day in January. It was very helpful that if we called as soon as we knew our arrival time, you would pick us up at the nearest station. Our Room was “Akatsuki,” and I will never forget the ocean view from the Room. It may not be as luxurious as some of the other Rooms, but it was spacious and more than enough for two people. The private open-air bath was very large, spotless, and truly luxurious. Because the spring water is very hot—and we were probably the first guests to use it that day—the water was too hot to enter without adding quite a lot of cold water. That’s part of what makes free-flowing hot spring water special, and even frantically adding water and mixing it became a fun memory. The open-air bath in our Room was also large enough to sit with our legs stretched out, and at night we could see the stars. On very cold midwinter days, it might be tough since the washing area is also outdoors. Also, because the glass panel by the bath was fogged over, we couldn’t soak up to our shoulders while looking out at the sea. Without realizing that sunrise would be directly in front of our Room in such an amazing location, we booked the private bath for sunrise time. From there you can just barely see sunrise near one edge—so when we returned to our Room and saw the sun right in front of us, we regretted not watching sunrise from our own bath! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious with satisfying portions. The spiny lobster sashimi and assorted sashimi were especially good. We ordered two preparations of scorpionfish—fried and simmered—for two people, and both were excellent. The sea bream rice cooked with salmon roe was delicious too, but I was so full that I couldn’t finish it—and I still regret that. As for the horses: when we walked up the slope and they came into view, two ponies came right over to us—I’ve never seen ponies this adorable! We wanted to see them again before leaving, so we went back once more. We chose Mizuno because we wanted a quiet, relaxing stay—and it was absolutely the right choice. We made wonderful memories here, and headed home talking about how we'd love to stay again someday.

    Had a relaxing stay.

The room's bath was spacious and featured a continuous flow of water, which was excellent. The private bath was also large and enjoyable. Meals were served in the room with a chair and table setup, providing ample space for two people, which was very comfortable. The staff were kind and attentive, making the stay pleasant. There was also a horse stable on-site that could be visited, which added to the experience. However, the washing area in the room was exposed to the elements, so it felt quite cold when washing on chilly days. Using the private bath for washing seemed better; adding some partitions would make it even more comfortable to use. The property is spacious but well-maintained and clean. Since most of the building is wooden, footsteps can be heard at times—those sensitive to noise might want to choose their room carefully. I look forward to visiting again when I have time!

A Wonderful Hot Spring and Luxurious Moments

I had a wonderful time staying at the accommodation I had been looking forward to for so long. When I entered the room, instead of artificial incense, tea leaves were used as incense, giving off a lovely scent that felt very characteristic of Shizuoka. The onsen with its own natural hot spring source was very hot and required some stirring or adding water to enter comfortably, but it had a slight saltiness and kept my body warm for a long time. The onsen in the room offered great views, and the private bath was spacious and absolutely fantastic. The meals featured an abundance of fresh seafood, and being able to choose part of the main dish was a much-appreciated service. Everything was delicious, and I finished every bite. The signature deep-fried rockfish dish was impressive in appearance as well. The staff were courteous and attentive, which I truly appreciated. Additionally, within Mizuno's premises, there were horses and ponies you could interact with—an incredibly soothing experience. One concern was that the small room's window had condensation stains on it; however, this might be unavoidable given the season. Staying on weekdays allowed for a quiet atmosphere with fewer people around—I’ll definitely consider visiting again during another season!

    Stunning Views and Horses

I love watching the sunrise. In Atami and Ajiro, the sunrise can be seen directly from your room, making it truly spectacular on clear days. The onsen here is also exceptional, with its silica-rich water providing a perfect beauty bath. The meals are incredibly delicious. With an additional charge, you can enjoy a luxurious set that includes a fruit platter, beef stew, and a full bottle of wine—an absolute treat for those who enjoy drinking. I gave it 4 stars because as a left-handed person, the breakfast setup was still arranged for right-handed guests. I hope for more attention to detail in this area. And above all—horses! The ryokan has its own riding ground where you can experience horseback riding for free—it’s truly amazing! Copernicus, the child of Deep Impact, is stunningly beautiful. John-kun, the horse I rode during my experience session, was very gentle and kind-hearted. Since it's located on high ground, horseback riding may not be possible when it's windy; however, the instructor was incredibly kind and professional. The experience itself felt authentic and well-organized. This has become one of my favorite accommodations that I would love to visit again!

    I had a relaxing stay.

I stayed in a room with a great view, and as the name suggests, the scenery was truly stunning. On clear days, the calm sea offers an amazing sight. The sunrise the next morning was also beautiful and moving. The bathroom in the room was spacious and open, allowing for a relaxing experience. It felt slightly cold when washing up, but soaking in the onsen warmed me up quickly—worth enduring for a bit! The onsen had a salty touch that made me thirsty, but having a water dispenser installed in the room was incredibly convenient. The meals were delicious, and I appreciated the perfect balance of attentiveness from the staff. On my way out in the morning, I had an opportunity to see horses and even feed them upon suggestion by one of their caretakers (?). Unfortunately, I injured my finger while feeding them (currently bruised), but interacting with these gentle creatures was very soothing nonetheless. I will consider staying here again when traveling to Ajiro. Thank you for providing such a relaxing stay!

This trip was for a couple's getaway, focusing on a private open-air hot spring bath with natural flowing water. The water quality was gentle, allowing us to soak and relax at our own pace. Blessed with good weather, the view of the star-filled sky from the open-air bath and the sunrise over the horizon were breathtaking. Dinner had quite a large portion for us as seniors, but since it was served in-room and we could take over two hours to enjoy it calmly, we managed to finish everything. The prices for beer and sake were reasonable, which was very helpful. Thank you very much!

An accommodation where you can enjoy high-quality onsen.

A memorable accommodation with high-quality, tea-brown Onsen water. This was our second stay, choosing a different room from the previous visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source. Blessed with good weather, the sunrise view from the private open-air bath attached to our room was exceptional. The signature dish, "Deep-fried Kasago Fish" with a refreshing sweet and sour sauce based on medicinal cuisine concepts, remains as delicious as ever. Adding such a unique dish to a traditional Japanese menu is one of my favorites. It was also delightful that the staff kindly cut it into easy-to-eat portions. This is definitely one of the accommodations I would love to visit again.

I visited with my elderly parents. The Ryokan is located on a hill accessible by a steep slope from the coastal road. When I informed them in advance about having someone with mobility issues, they kindly guided us to the parking lot closest to the entrance. Upon entering our Room, we were immediately served traditional Japanese sweets and matcha tea, which were absolutely delicious. The ocean view from the private open-air bath in our Room was breathtaking and truly spectacular! The private bath was also spacious, allowing us to relax comfortably. Dinner was served in our Room. The seafood dishes were exceptional, featuring fresh ingredients such as Ise lobster sashimi, scorpionfish, cutlassfish, and abalone (optional). Each dish highlighted the quality of its ingredients beautifully. During dinner, a staff member kindly informed us of the sunrise time for the next morning. We woke up at that time and enjoyed an incredible view while soaking in the morning open-air bath—it was truly moving! Before breakfast, another staff member brought us printed photos taken during sunrise—such thoughtful service! Everything about this stay was luxurious and of high quality; it provided an unforgettable experience of indulgence. Thank you so much to all the Ryokan staff for your hospitality—we look forward to visiting again!

Spacious and quiet rooms, an open-air bath, and excellent meals!

We were guided to our room without checking in at the front desk and were welcomed with cold matcha and traditional Japanese sweets. The room was spacious and clean! The open-air bath was also large, had a pleasant wooden aroma, and got us excited. The temperature was just right, with a view of Hatsushima Island, making for a truly relaxing bathing experience. The meals were impeccable in both presentation and taste. The deep-fried whole scorpionfish and steamed abalone were especially delicious as it was our first time trying them. For my husband's birthday celebration, we requested a birthday plate which came with a Happy Birthday song from the staff member; he was very pleased. Amenities included L'Occitane skincare products and a Dyson hairdryer. Breakfast was luxurious with many dishes to choose from, all of which were delicious. Both dinner and breakfast came with fresh wasabi that you could grate yourself using the provided grater—a delightful touch!
