This is truly a wonderful accommodation.

I’m a repeat guest and a devoted fan of Ubud. It’s a wonderful Accommodation that welcomes you with “Welcome back.” The atmosphere throughout the property, the Asian-style background music playing all day, the dog-friendly staff, the tasteful fresh flowers in the rooms, the Onsen, and the meals—everything is deeply satisfying and truly relaxing. The other guests (and their owners) also tend to be calm and considerate, with good manners. Above all, the spotless cleanliness and thoughtful attention to detail are outstanding; every time I stay, I find myself wondering how they maintain such an incredible level of cleanliness. At checkout they see you off with “Have a good day,” and those words always make me think, “I’ll definitely come back.”

Our senior dog enjoyed the stay.

The all-inclusive plan was great, and we were able to use both the large public bath and the five private baths comfortably without running into other guests. There was a strong ammonia smell when we first entered the Room, but after running the deodorizer, air purifier, and air conditioner at full power for a while, it went away. It was also great that we could bring our dog almost everywhere. Our senior dog, who doesn’t like typical dog runs, happily walked around in the wood-chip dog run.

    It was a wonderful anniversary.

This was our first stay here. I had checked your SNS in advance and thought I had a good idea of what to expect, but the actual experience far exceeded my expectations in every way. All of the staff were incredibly kind to our dog, and even though he gets scared and barks, they spoke to him gently again and again. Both the Room and the Onsen were impeccably maintained down to every detail, so we were able to relax in complete comfort. It was also wonderful that we could use multiple baths even late at night. The restaurant’s course meal—a delicious blend of Japanese and Western cuisine—was excellent, and our children loved it too. As this trip was for our 20th wedding anniversary, I secretly arranged a cake and bouquet in advance without telling my family. After dinner, you brought out a surprise cake with candles lit along with the bouquet, played celebratory background music, and all the staff congratulated us—it truly moved me. My wife was in tears (in a good way), and it became a very special anniversary for our family. You kindly cut the cake for us, and we enjoyed it in our Room. We had such a great time that it felt like there wasn’t enough time—we wished we could have stayed longer. This is an Accommodation where you truly want to slow down and relax. Thank you so much!!

    We had a relaxing stay.

This was my second stay, and my first time staying in the annex. From the welcome at check-in to check-out, your courteous service was truly appreciated. The Room was clean with no odors, and there was even a Famicom set up, so I enjoyed playing with my child for the first time in a while. The meals were delicious as they were last time. The meat in particular was tender, and our dog stared at me as if to say, “Give me some” (I gave a little). Breakfast was also satisfying from the morning, with delicious dried horse mackerel and pork shabu-shabu included. The only disappointing point was that there wasn’t any fresh wasabi to grate myself (was it a poor harvest?). Other than that, I was very satisfied overall. I would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Summer Vacation Memories

Our First Visit to Ubud no Mori All of the staff were incredibly kind and spoke to our dog so warmly. Thanks to them, we felt welcomed and comfortable from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious—we were more than satisfied!! We even got to enjoy the late-night soba, which made the evening even happier. Being able to relax and have such a wonderful time with our dog became a truly special memory for us. We would love to visit again! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

    Wonderful

This was my first stay. It was a one-night, two-day trip, and I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful Hotel Facility. The staff were also very kind to our dog, which truly impressed me. The Onsen was excellent as well. I would love to come back for a Multiple Night Stay.

    We stayed in the ann...

We stayed in the annex. The Room was very clean, and it was extremely convenient with easy access to the lounge and karaoke. Some L’OCCITANE amenities were provided as well, which delighted the women in our group. All staff were very friendly and truly dog-first, which we really appreciated. Food at dog-friendly Accommodation can often be just average, but here it was on par with a luxury Accommodation, and our whole family was satisfied. The sashimi in particular was excellent—we regretted not ordering the optional boat platter. The dried fish at breakfast was also delicious. Since our family doesn’t eat large portions, both dinner and breakfast felt just right. As for meals for dogs, we were served the same dish each time, so we’d love to see more variety. We also noticed that the doorway into the Room was narrow, making it a bit difficult to enter while carrying two dogs. That said, we were very happy overall—especially with the free drinks and late-night ramen—and would love to return if we have another chance.

This Facility was very considerate for dogs. The staff were extremely attentive, and we had a very pleasant stay. The meals were delicious, and the additional red sea bream shabu-shabu was outstanding. We look forward to staying with you again.

    This Accommodation is truly wonderful.

We stayed at the Gratys Annex. This was our fifth visit, and it’s still the best. The staff, Room, meals, and baths were all excellent—no matter how many times we come, we never get tired of it. There are plenty of private baths, and you can quickly check availability by scanning a QR code on your smartphone, so you can use one right away. Karaoke is just as easy to access. The late-night ramen served during bar time is the perfect size. We also loved that they even provide a yukata-style outfit for dogs. It makes us want to come back again soon.

    It was my second stay.

We stayed with you about six months ago, and that visit was so wonderful that we decided to celebrate a family birthday here this time. Thanks to your kindness, we were able to make even better memories than last time—and our dog was very happy too. We also got to make a keychain at the workshop. Our family had been looking forward to the popcorn we enjoyed on our previous visit, so it was a bit disappointing that it wasn’t available this time. The in-Room Onsen was lovely as well, but since there was no air conditioner in the washroom area, using the hair dryer while sweating was a little tough (in a good-humored way). As for amenities, there were two cleansing products but no lotion, which made us pause for a moment—but we were happy to have L’OCCITANE amenities and used those for our baths at the end of the day (we bathed many times). As before, all of your staff were outstanding. Our Schnauzer tends to bark defensively at unfamiliar men—especially those wearing black—but one staff member sensed this and gently chose to pet our dog (who is picky but loves being petted), which helped reassure him. We’re already thinking about when we should come next.

    Our dog-friendly staff

This was our first stay, and we were truly happy to feel that all the staff genuinely love dogs. In particular, the staff member who took photos for us during the meal provided outstanding service, and our dog looked relaxed in the pictures—making them a precious memory. There were several private open-air baths, each with its own unique atmosphere, which we really enjoyed. We would like to visit again during a cooler season.

    It was amazing!

We’ve traveled with our dog to many places, but this was our first stay here. First of all, the dog amenities were excellent—everything was provided. We could have come empty-handed with no problem. The Room was clean, and while the private bath isn’t very large, dogs are allowed all the way to the changing area. It’s great that you can spend almost the entire time together with your dog. The dog run was spacious, and we were very satisfied—the meals we looked forward to were delicious as well. All of the staff were kind and friendly to our dog. We’d love to come again. Thank you very much!

Safe and sound with the family again this year!

In June, when my dog was 15, he underwent surgery to have nearly ten teeth extracted due to periodontal disease, and I honestly thought traveling this year would be impossible. But he recovered amazingly well, so we came to celebrate his recovery! The staff are wonderfully thoughtful, and it’s a Hotel that truly caters to guests traveling with dogs—we love it. We’re planning to visit once more this year.

I’d love to stay here again.

The detached Room was spacious and came with both an indoor bath and an open-air bath fed by Onsen water, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Also, by opening the locked gate from the private dog run, you can access the shared dog run as well, and our dog seemed very happy. Most notably, the staff’s hospitality was exceptional; they accommodated our requests during meals, allowing us to fully enjoy the delicious cuisine. Thank you for a wonderful memory.

    A Fulfilling Stay

Both dogs and people can enjoy themselves. The staff’s hospitality is always wonderful. They truly understand how dogs feel and how to make them happy, which is very inspiring. Ubud is well equipped with amenities for both guests and dogs, so even if you forget something, you can feel at ease. It also helps keep your luggage light, which is a huge help. Other Accommodations may offer amenities too, but I have never seen anything as well stocked as Ubud. This was my first time staying in the Gratis Room with a private dog run, and both the Room and the dog run were spacious and great. Depending on how busy it is on the day of your stay, it may vary, but we were able to relax in peace and quiet. I would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

    Outstanding quality.

This Accommodation is well-known as a place where you can stay with your dog, and it truly lived up to its reputation—wonderful. The Hotel staff’s hospitality was exceptional, both toward people and toward dogs. If I had to mention anything, it would be the smoking area location—I wasn’t sure where it was. While using the private bath in the main building, I noticed a faint smell of cigarette smoke, which was a bit disappointing. Also, the air conditioner had a slight musty smell, possibly mold. The food is delicious, you can enjoy drinks, and you can be with your dog at all times—during activities and in the baths. The late-night ramen is great too! It will be a worthwhile one-night stay!

    It was very good.

Thank you very much for your hospitality. From the warm welcome to the send-off, everything felt wonderful. The meals were delicious, and we really enjoyed the all-you-can-drink option. The baths were great as well. On the way to the open-air bath, we noticed some insects, but that can’t be helped given the season—haha. We should have checked in earlier so we could relax longer. Thank you again. We would love to stay here again.

Anytime is better with your dog.

We stayed in the detached Hibikizuki. It was our first time, and it’s perfect for dog lovers. We truly appreciated that dogs are welcome everywhere on the property—this is something I really want to emphasize. Our dog is a senior, so we feel a bit uneasy leaving him alone, but here we could be together at all times and felt completely at ease. The building isn’t brand-new, but it’s well maintained and very relaxing. The meals were delicious, and we were grateful for the complimentary drinks as well. Our dog seemed to enjoy his meal too—just be careful not to overfeed! The Onsen was very comfortable. The open-air bath in the Room was wonderful, and the private baths also had great Onsen water. There always seemed to be one available, so it was relatively easy to use them. Another big plus is that towels are provided, so you can go empty-handed. Because our dog is elderly, he couldn’t handle the slope at the dog run, but it was well cared for and many guests were using it. Above all, the staff’s thoughtful hospitality toward both dogs and people made our stay exceptionally comfortable—we felt truly looked after in every way. Next time, we’d love a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much for everything.

    A dog lover’s paradise.

I stayed with one senior dog and two adults. This is my perspective as someone who has never stayed at an Accommodation where guests with dogs make up 100% of the clientele. First and foremost, for dogs that love other dogs, and for owners who don’t mind being around other dogs, this is an excellent Accommodation. However, it’s not just “not barrier-free”—the walkways are such that even a man in his 40s needs to be careful, especially on rainy days, as it feels easy to slip or fall. The staff were wonderful, and I never once felt uncomfortable. Our Room this time was a standalone house with a traditional farmhouse style, but everything was quite small. And I tripped more times than I can count (laugh). Overall it has an old-fashioned layout; in particular, the bed—more like a raised mattress—was difficult to get up from. It may suit couples in their 20s–30s well, but for me as an older guy, it was tough. Our dog became unwell during the meal so we couldn’t eat any of the dinner; what we did see didn’t feel especially distinctive. The free-flow inclusive drinks were appreciated as someone who enjoys alcohol. The hot spring water quality was good. I’m not bothered by insects, but it’s fairly wild in that regard. Cleaning was thorough. Because I usually stay at Accommodations where only a limited number of Rooms allow dogs, I don’t think this place suited me personally. That said, the concept—an Accommodation for dogs—was faithfully delivered. All of the staff were excellent. Since whether it suits you is subjective, this is a good Accommodation for those who are used to traveling with dogs. Thank you very much.

Our whole family was able to relax and enjoy a wonderful time together.

This was our second trip traveling with our dog. We’d been a little anxious because he started barking around the age of two, but your website said, “If your dog keeps barking for a long time, please gently soothe them,” and we thought what a truly dog-friendly Hotel this is—so we decided to stay. The weather was bad that day, but even though we arrived early, we were kindly allowed to relax in the lounge, which we really appreciated. What surprised us most was that all the staff remembered our dog’s name and spoke to him so warmly. Maybe because our whole family could relax, he barked less than we expected, and we were able to take it easy as well. Dog amenities were available throughout the building, and there was even an all-you-can-choose dog treat buffet—we were so grateful. In our Room, just like for us owners, there was bottled water and treats prepared for our dog too. It was such heartwarming hospitality. Our dog was welcome at meals as well; the food was delicious and we were completely satisfied—we could enjoy it at a relaxed pace. There were various baths too; my son tried different ones five times and seemed very happy, saying he had a relaxing stay. We’d only been to a dog run once before and were really looking forward to it, but unfortunately it rained. Still, on the first day we could play in the indoor dog run, and by morning the rain had stopped so we went to the outdoor one as well. Since it felt like we had it all to ourselves, he ran around happily at full speed. Seeing him like that made us want to come back again when we can take more time—Ubud no Mori is that kind of place for us. On our way home, we bought some cute coasters and a samue outfit for our pup. Thank you very much for such a wonderful stay.

A dog-friendly Accommodation where your pup comes first

Before our visit, I felt a bit uneasy after reading Reviews on another travel site, but in reality, every issue mentioned there had been improved. Some Accommodations don’t make any changes even when things are pointed out in Reviews, so it was a big plus to see the effort being made. Thoughtful touches for dogs were everywhere. Even though our dogs look very similar to others at first glance, the staff took the time to ask how to tell them apart so they could call each one by name and speak to them properly. That kind of consideration made me very happy. And of course, the same care was shown toward guests as well, which made our stay very comfortable—thank you. Since this is a dog-friendly Accommodation it may be unavoidable, but I did notice some stains on the living room floor (I’m a bit sensitive about that; some people may not mind). However, amenities that had been criticized in past Reviews (on another site) had clearly been improved and were more than sufficient. The hair dryer and other items provided in the Room also felt appropriate for a suite. The building itself is old, but the bed was clean and it seemed like cleaning—especially around the bathroom—was done properly. All of the staff spoke kindly to our dogs and showed consideration throughout our stay. I’d love to come back again. I prefer having an Onsen in the Room, so I’d like to stay in one of the detached rooms again next time.

    First-time experience

This was our first stay. All of the staff were incredibly kind—speaking to our dog when he couldn’t quite settle down in the restaurant, turning our chairs, and showing such thoughtful attention. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. The room was spotless, and the greenery outside the window was so soothing. The bed height was low, so we could relax without worrying about our dog jumping and straining his back—and above all, we were amazed by how comfortable it was. What brand is the mattress? We had such a great time making many special memories we’ve never experienced anywhere else, like karaoke with our dog and even enjoying an Onsen with our dog. After checkout my husband got injured, so we had to head home without doing much sightseeing, which was disappointing. We’d love to try an Izu trip again next year—and when we do, we would definitely like to stay with you again!

    Memorable Hospitality

This was our first stay in three years. At check-in, the staff confirmed, “You’re here with Hana-chan (female Yorkie) today, right?” and asked, “Where is Alto-kun (male Yorkie)?” We told them he passed away two years ago. At dinner, they prepared not only Hana’s meal but also a memorial place setting for Alto, along with a card bearing his name! Our whole family was truly touched by your warm hospitality and felt very grateful. Thank you again. We will visit again!

A true paradise for guests traveling with dogs!

This was a wonderful Accommodation with exceptional consideration for pets. This time we stayed in the Annex Gratis in a Room with a private dog run, and since our dog isn’t comfortable around other dogs, this Facility was incredibly helpful. Inside the building (except inside some of the baths), pets can move around freely, and of course they can join you for meals as well. Above all, there were plenty of pet amenities throughout the property, which made us feel at ease. What was also outstanding were the additional services: it’s basically all-inclusive including alcohol (excluding some premium drinks), there are unlimited drinks in the lounge, and to make sure guests can enjoy themselves even on rainy days there’s karaoke, billiards, table tennis... Since it rained during our stay, this really saved us. (The kids were totally absorbed in the Nintendo Classic Mini provided in the Room.) The dining options weren’t just great for pets—both dinner and breakfast had more than enough quality and quantity as well. It was almost perfect. If I had to nitpick: there wasn’t even a shower in the Room (let alone a bath), which was disappointing; and since we stayed during Golden Week, the price was about double compared to cheaper seasons. On the other hand, that means if you visit during regular periods, you’ll get all of these great points plus unbeatable value for money. We’d love to come back during a more reasonably priced season next time. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

It always has very high ratings, so I arrived with great expectations. The meals were not tasty. The sashimi was fine, but there was something like a white asparagus mousse, and rather than an asparagus flavor, the strong “green” smell stood out. Alcohol was offered as a free-flow option, but it felt like the kind of all-you-can-drink plan you’d get at an izakaya. In that case, I would have preferred good wine by the glass or a bottle. The dog run had wood chips. The garden path to get there also still smelled of urine, and although I had planned to let my dog play a lot, my dog didn’t really want to. Old buildings are the same everywhere, and I think it’s fine as long as they’re kept clean. However, here—combined with how dim the lighting in the Room was—it didn’t look clean. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I usually stay until right before checkout, but I left early this time. I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, and this is the first time I’ve felt there would not be a second visit.

    It was a comfortable stay.

This was our first stay. Our family of four (a couple, our daughter, and our dog) enjoyed a comfortable two-night, three-day stay in a Room on the 2nd floor of the annex. Our dog became restless from the moment we left home and was exhausted by the time we arrived at Ubud. But everyone spoke to him kindly and he seemed so happy, which really put us at ease. The Hotel Room was spotless, with no odors at all—clean and wonderful. The meals were delicious and luxurious on both days, perfectly seasoned, and left us completely satisfied. For our family, good food and a great Room can really make or break a trip’s excitement level—so we were more than thrilled with Ubud. The baths were clean as well, and the Onsen was very relaxing. We also enjoyed the entertainment area such as karaoke—it was such a happy time being able to sing karaoke together with our dog. Bar time had a lovely grown-up atmosphere too. Even though we were full, we still managed to enjoy the late-night ramen; it was light yet flavorful. There was also paper on the table for writing senryu about your dog. Thinking about our dog while writing made my affection for him overflow even more—it became a truly special moment. Our high-school-aged daughter was especially excited about the ReFa shower head and hair dryer, as well as being able to choose from various shampoos and conditioners in the private bath—and amenities like a Dyson hair dryer. Thank you so much for an amazing trip with our beloved dog. The weather wasn’t on our side during this trip, but thanks to Ubud we could spend such comfortable time at the Hotel, making it a wonderful journey overall. It was such a great Accommodation that on the drive home we were already asking each other, “When should we come next?” We hope to visit again soon. And thank you very much for giving Moco so much kind attention.

    Annex Kyogetsu

We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s first birthday. This was our second stay, and this time we chose the detached Room we had been wanting to try. It was very convenient to be able to access the dog run directly from our private garden, and the Room had a nostalgic atmosphere. The corridor that surrounds the tatami room also felt like an indoor dog run for our dog, who happily ran around in circles. We enjoyed both the in-room open-air bath and the outdoor open-air bath many times, and were soothed both body and mind by petals floating in the water and squirrels crossing through the trees. The meals were excellent as well—my mother, who usually prefers Japanese cuisine, ate almost everything. There was just one small thing: I remember that on our previous visit (it was my first time in Ubud), we booked an anniversary Plan and our dog was served a cake. This time we also booked an anniversary Plan and told them it was our dog’s birthday, so I mistakenly expected a cake again and felt a little disappointed. That said, everything else made for a very satisfying trip. One night wasn’t enough—maybe next time we’ll stay two nights.

    The hospitality is attentive.

The staff were incredibly kind, and their hospitality was outstanding. I had a very comfortable stay. The Room didn’t have any dog smell at all, which made it easy to relax. The late-night ramen was delicious. The grilled fish in the morning was thick and fluffy, and I really enjoyed it. The only disappointing points were that the hair dryer intake in the private family bath had a heavy buildup of dust, and the tray for placing the humidifier water tank on the Room’s air purifier seemed not to have been cleaned at all—it was slimy with pink mold—so I couldn’t use it. I hope these points will be improved. Also, it would be nice to have one more indoor bath in the private family bath area.

We look forward to welcoming you again in 2026.

This is our second year in a row staying here. We originally planned to stay three nights during the 2025 Christmas season, but had to change it to two nights due to an unexpected matter. This time we stayed in the detached annex. Since it’s an older building, it does feel a bit dated, but the interior was clean and well maintained, and housekeeping was thorough. There were no noticeable odors. The annex is very close to the main building, the private open-air Onsen baths, and the dog run, so we went straight to the dog run as soon as we woke up in the morning. Our dogs had a great time playing. The annex also has its own Onsen; even the indoor bath is fed by Onsen water. Izu Kogen can be a bit chilly during Christmas season, so we really enjoyed soaking indoors. The water quality was excellent. For dinner on both nights, we were seated in semi-private dining rooms in the main building. The assorted sashimi boat platter we ordered separately was as gorgeous as ever and delicious. We always come during Christmas season for my husband’s birthday—and our Charles also has a December birthday—so it was a triple celebration this time as well. Bringing our own dog cake was no problem. At dinner, guests staying in the annex received a special extra dish. As always, everything was delicious. On the second night I caused a small incident at dinner, and even then the head chef came out to greet us. Our dogs also had meals included for both days and didn’t need any food we brought ourselves. The amenities were well stocked and very convenient. The service was wonderful as always—thank you for remembering our dogs’ names and welcoming us back with “Welcome home.” Our dogs were clearly very happy too. Sorry for posting this Review so late. We look forward to seeing you again in 2026.
