    A Long-Awaited Return

    After several years, I had the pleasure of staying here again. The accommodation has been renovated, but it brought back nostalgic memories of my previous visit. The highlight of this hotel is undoubtedly the large public bath. With a gender-swapping system and an attached sauna, the water temperature is perfect, making it an exceptional onsen experience. For dinner, I appreciated being able to choose a smaller portion size, allowing me to enjoy everything with some drinks without leaving anything behind. The guest rooms are simple yet clean, with complimentary water provided in the refrigerator, offering great value for its reasonable accommodation cost. While there are minor inconveniences (such as limited replacements for bath towels or yukata), this traditional onsen accommodation provides a delightful and authentic experience.

    The meals are truly delicious.

    The meals were creative and absolutely delicious. The sashimi served at dinner was, of course, fresh, but the Isuzu Burger as a small dish was truly unexpected. It featured fried sweetfish and pickled vegetables, giving it a pop feel despite being part of a traditional Japanese meal—it was fantastic. While fried dishes are usually included in kaiseki meals, this burger turned out to be the only fried item this time. What a luxurious small dish! Additionally, the steamed dish with potatoes topped with tomatoes had a gentle flavor and was delightful. The dining experience deserves full marks. However, regarding the Facility side, I would appreciate consideration for having only one key available and security in the bathroom area. Overall though, it was an excellent stay—thank you very much!

    It was a wonderful Ryokan.

    This Golden Week, I stayed at the Yugawara Onsen accommodation I had always been curious about for the first time. Based on past reviews, I knew it was an older accommodation, and indeed it was, but it gave the impression of being well-maintained and cherished. The room was comfortable, and the futon provided a good night's sleep. The large public bath and the small attached open-air onsen were lovely, and I also enjoyed the private open-air onsen available for an additional fee. Above all, the food was delicious! Adding the simmered golden-eye snapper as an optional dish was definitely worth it! Personally, my satisfaction level was very high, and I would love to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    The food was incredi...

    The food was incredibly delicious, and the onsen left my skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated! The room had the soothing scent of fresh tatami, which was very relaxing. Additionally, the staff kindly recommended great restaurants and souvenir shops near the local fishing port. After our stay, we were able to visit these recommended spots, making it a truly satisfying trip. Thank you so much!

    Restoration is required.

    The bath is not bad. However, perhaps due to the building being from the Showa era and minimal investment in repairs, there are gaps in the walls, unidentified stains on the wallpaper that haven't been cleaned, a dusty air conditioner, and especially a sewage smell from the guest room toilet... It seems like there might not be anyone managing these issues. As a result, it does not justify the accommodation fee. While it may be slightly cheaper compared to others... I wouldn't stay here again.

    The Room was more spacious and cleaner than expected, with amenities provided, allowing for a comfortable stay. Although meals were not served in the Room, the food was delicious and very satisfying. I would love to use this accommodation again if I have the chance to visit.

    Thank you for your hospitality.

    I am satisfied with the service provided by the room staff. Although I was worried about the delay in bathing due to a boiler malfunction, I was able to enjoy a very pleasant large public bath. The meals were carefully prepared, each dish was delicious, and both dinner and breakfast exceeded my expectations. However, the Japanese-style beef stew and chicken rice at dinner were not very impressive. The facility, although old, has been updated, and I felt the utmost management effort, and I wish for further development in the future. The manager was friendly and approachable, and I would like to visit again.

    Excellent service and cuisine.

    We stayed for one night with three people for an event. The facility is a bit old, but the service and food were excellent. It is highly recommended, as there is a request to reserve here again for the next event.

    Very satisfied with the cuisine.

    We stayed with a total of seven people, including my daughter's family who live in Odawara. We were worried about the children's menu for the three young children who eat a lot, but they were very satisfied with the shrimp fry, hamburger, fried chicken, and the tuna roll that the children love. The review mentioned that the building and room were old, but the room was well cleaned. However, I was concerned about the smell of the air conditioner, the spider webs in the small garden in front of the room, and the large spider web in the parking lot. I hope they can remove them regularly. Considering the price, the meals, bath, room, and the staff's pleasant service, I thought it was very reasonable. I would like to visit again.

    Travel

    We used two rooms, a suite and a standard room, with my in-laws. We were unaware that the glasses, bath, and yukata in the suite were of a different grade than those in the standard room. My in-laws kindly offered us the larger room, so we used the suite, but I felt sorry because the clothing and contents were so different. The meals were very delicious. The room itself had mold and gave an overall impression of being quite old, but I think the cleaning was thorough.

    A delightful surprise at a hidden gem Ryokan

    As it started to get chilly, I wanted to relax in an onsen, so I visited. I've stayed at several ryokans in Yugawara, but this was my first time at this ryokan... and choosing Isuzu Hotel was the perfect decision. Honestly, I was just happy to be able to enter the onsen, and I saw in other reviews that the spring quality was the best in Yugawara Onsen, so I only had expectations for the onsen. As the reviews said, the water was excellent, with a mild spring quality that didn't irritate my sensitive skin, and I found myself soaking in it multiple times. Strangely, even though it was a large public bath, I almost always had it to myself... which, as a guest, was delightful (haha). The unexpected delight this time was the food... without a doubt, it was the best among all the properties I've visited so far. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and I savored them while thinking, "Ah, this is what delicious and profound taste means..." Meanwhile, my husband, who usually isn't that interested in Japanese kaiseki, was nodding in appreciation and finished everything cleanly. He seemed to like it so much that he said he wanted to come back to Isuzu just for the food. Enjoying the best onsen and indulging in the best cuisine, this is the essence of an onsen trip, and it turned out to be a trip that was 100% satisfying. By the way, the room was a standard Japanese-style room, but it was clean and perfectly fine. Many ryokan hotels in Yugawara Onsen are quite old, so it's common to feel a bit of age in the facilities. All the staff were pleasant, stopping to greet us with a smile whenever we passed by. When I mentioned that I wanted to bring my parents next time, they said they would prioritize a room close to the bath if available! I'm already looking forward to enjoying that onsen and cuisine again.

    I had a great day.

    I love onsens and travel regularly. I chose this property this time because of the excellent reputation of the cuisine. Not only was the food wonderful, but everyone at the property was warm and welcoming, allowing me to have a truly pleasant holiday. There is nothing particularly new about the building or the facilities, but it was evident that efforts were being made, as cleaning was done meticulously and repairs were being carried out. I believe that onsen properties rely on the baths, the food, and the people. I will definitely visit again! Thank you very much.
