    This was my fourth stay. As always, the meal in the Room I wanted was very delicious. The service was also good, and the bath was great. This time, I used the private open-air bath for the first time, and it was wonderful. The only disappointing points were that there were not enough hair dryers in the bathing area and the amenities were not very good, but for this price it is truly a great Accommodation.

    Thank you for a truly blissful trip.

    Everything—from the cuisine and the Onsen to the private dining room prepared for our meals—was wonderful, and we were able to truly relax from the bottom of our hearts. The food in particular was exceptional; each dish reflected careful craftsmanship, leaving us deeply satisfied. Above all, the Onsen was truly outstanding, and we enjoyed it three times during our stay. The water felt wonderfully gentle on the skin, bringing a soothing warmth that seemed to melt away tension from deep within. We were able to fully savor the blessings of Yugawara’s hot springs. The comforting afterglow lingered long after bathing—it was a genuinely healing experience. Thanks to you, this became a very memorable stay. We would love to visit again.

    It was a spacious and relaxing Accommodation.

    Basically, one staff member took care of everything—from preparing the Room (laying out and putting away the futon) to greeting us at the dining venue and serving our meals—so we were able to stay very comfortably. As for the baths, with two switches between men’s and women’s baths, we could enjoy both, and they were very pleasant. The meal service was well-timed, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed a variety of ingredients.

    It was great. We were also able to see fireflies.

    Well, the Room and Facility were decent, but the meals, baths, and service were great. It was a week after the Firefly Festival so there were only a few, but we still got to see fireflies and were satisfied. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to see in Yugawara town, but it has a nice atmosphere and works well as a stopover. I’d like to visit again—next time for Iida Shoten.

    I chose Yugawara to ...

    I chose Yugawara to relax. Unlike Hakone or Atami, it was quiet and peaceful. The hot spring water was wonderful. It was convenient to have our Room on the same floor as the large public bath and dining area. The kibi mochi sweets were delicious, and when I went to the front desk to order some, the shop’s business hours had already ended, but thank you for kindly helping me anyway.

    Your First Time in Yugawara

    We stayed here for a family trip. The bath and meals were excellent, and the staff’s attentive hospitality was outstanding. Thanks to you, we had a wonderful family vacation.

    The food was delicious, but overall it was a truly disappointing trip.

    I rarely write a Review, but I decided to share this one. We chose Isuzu Hotel because it had strong ratings. The meals were among the very best we have had at any Ryokan we have stayed at, and the service during dining was also excellent—our whole family was very impressed. However, everything else was truly disappointing. First, the Room was extremely dark even during the day, and there was almost no explanation after we entered. Also regarding checkout the next day, charges for items such as chuhai and snacks—things we did not order at all—were included. They corrected it immediately when we pointed it out, but we have never experienced anything like this at any Accommodation booked through IKYU before. Because it happened at the very end of our trip, it left us feeling genuinely disappointed. If not for these issues, our overall impression would have been quite different. The meals are outstanding without exaggeration.

    Simply disappointing (tears)

    Simply disappointing. The proprietress’ thoughtful hospitality was wonderful—she is a lovely person—and the head chef kindly accommodated my allergies, so I truly believed this was the best Accommodation. But then, at the banquet hall, slippers from different people were left mixed together. Even though it was clearly a different grade of Room, it was the worst. If someone had athlete’s foot, that’s disgusting—so disappointing, so disappointing. Because I thought it was a good Accommodation, it made it even more disappointing. You should come up with measures such as storing slippers separately for each banquet-room group or attaching tags to them! It was truly unpleasant. After that incident, at the large public bath I stopped leaving my slippers on the floor and started putting them in my own basket. I’m really disappointed and hope you will improve. Also, Hakone Yumoto Chimoto’s yumochi and Yugawara Koumedo’s karukan manju—I left them on the table in my Room and was looking forward to eating them after returning from a walk, but since it was a Multiple Night Stay, they seem to have been thrown away as trash during housekeeping (tears). I contacted you to complain, but the proprietress completely denied it by saying their company would never do such a thing, which made me even more disappointed. I certainly don’t think I stayed in a cheap Room, but this is nothing but disappointment. I’m sad. It hurts. Was I mistaken?

    Is that for real!? Unbelievable.

    Outdated! Wallpaper is peeling off everywhere. Despite the relatively high room rate, it's questionable where the money is being spent. It was crowded on the day of our stay as well. In the early morning, I tried to take a shower in the room, but there was no hot water. Unbelievable for a hotel. The Onsen was good, but it felt different from other Onsen experiences. I went to Atami last week too, but after this Onsen, my body didn’t feel warmed up—it just felt like taking a regular bath and getting out. Amenities: Don’t expect much; they might be worse than an average business hotel. As for meals, the simmered golden-eye snapper was excellent, but everything else was ordinary. In conclusion, not worth the price at all. There are plenty of cheaper and better places elsewhere. They must be relying on first-time visitors who don’t know better to run their business—yet they still manage to operate because it’s Yugawara!

    We had a relaxing time with our family during the New Year holidays.

    This was our first family stay, and it was wonderful. The accommodation is not new, but it has the charm of a traditional ryokan, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Fresh flowers were arranged beautifully, and the facility felt clean and welcoming. The layout of the room we stayed in was excellent. There was a large room and a smaller one; the smaller room had a Japanese-style dresser that made it convenient for my daughter and me to do makeup or change clothes while my husband relaxed in the larger room. This arrangement worked perfectly for us. Although I was initially concerned about the lack of a car drop-off area, parking was close to the entrance, so there were no issues at all. Check-in took place comfortably in our room, which added to our relaxation. The young male staff member who assisted us provided excellent service and made our stay very pleasant. The onsen left my skin feeling smooth; there’s also a sauna as well as an open-air bath available. However, I felt slightly uneasy about visibility from outside when using the open-air bath—it's best to be cautious when entering. Meals were delicious! The private dining rooms were spacious and allowed us to enjoy meals at ease without any rush—it truly felt luxurious. The menu included personalized details like names with thoughtful messages written on it, which gave such warmth that we deeply appreciated it! During New Year’s celebrations especially they used creative wordplay reflecting festive themes—a lovely touch showing great attention to detail. One downside during checkout: It got crowded unfortunately—perhaps staggering times by rooms could improve this experience further? Overall though—it’s an accommodation we’d love returning someday again if given another chance! Spending quality time together over New Year holidays here created unforgettable memories—thank you so much for making everything special!

    The meals were excellent.

    Our family of four visited Yugawara for the first time, and the meals were exceptional. The young head chef's skills truly stood out. At dinner, a personalized menu with our names was thoughtfully prepared, and the staff were efficient and pleasant. For breakfast, we all enjoyed freshly cooked glossy rice with second helpings, paired perfectly with dried horse mackerel.

    Impressive Cuisine

    I stayed at this accommodation, which I had wanted to visit for a long time due to its high ratings for meals and baths at a reasonable price. Thank you for providing an extra bed for my companion who needed one. The dinner was full of creativity in every dish, reflecting the chef's passion, and the taste was impeccable. I even finished all the broth. The portion size was just right for us older guests, but younger visitors might find it slightly insufficient. The large public bath had a warm ambiance, perhaps due to its color scheme, which I really liked. Next time, I would like to try the private bath as well. The room showed some signs of aging but posed no issues in terms of use. It felt spacious and well-constructed overall. While it would be nice if more renovations were made to create stylish rooms or ones with beds installed, my priority is returning to enjoy another menu offering first!

    Relax and enjoy in-room dining.

    The bath was excellent, and I enjoyed relaxing in the sauna. The dining experience was unique, and I had fun reading through the menu. The staff member in charge was very attentive and kind.

    Weak Wi-Fi

    I stayed during my late summer vacation and thoroughly enjoyed the meals, which reflected the highly praised attention to detail. The bath was spacious, and despite traveling with a preschooler, we were treated exceptionally well in the room and throughout the accommodation. Thank you very much. I would love to stay again if I have another opportunity. That said, I have two points to mention: The room had a Fire Stick TV logged in with the facility's account, but it seemed like it wasn't a Prime membership account as there were limited videos available. Traveling with children, I was initially impressed but ended up feeling disappointed. Additionally, the room's Wi-Fi appeared to be of 5 or 4 standards; however, the signal was weak and slow, making it difficult to download videos for children.

    This is my third vis...

    This is my third visit. I stayed with my mother after a long time. The room dining allowed us to relax, and as always, the meals were truly delicious. The staff in charge of the room was polite and very pleasant. Although the building is old, which might be unavoidable, basic amenities are provided. It's a bit disappointing that there are no massage services or similar options available. However, I was fully satisfied with relaxing through the meals and baths!

    2-night, 3-day family trip

    I chose this accommodation based on the food reviews. The meals were not flashy, but they gave the impression of being carefully prepared, gentle on the stomach, and genuinely enjoyable. Since it was a multiple night stay, the menu was changed for the second day, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Breakfast included plenty of side dishes that paired perfectly with rice, and I ended up eating more rice than usual.

    The meals were delicious.

    Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was a bit salty, so it could use some improvement, but I still enjoyed the meal. The water in the outdoor Onsen at night was too lukewarm, which affects the rating for the Facility. I was looking forward to enjoying the Onsen, so it was disappointing. The staff were kind and helpful.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    This time, I stayed to relax. The Room was spacious, had a view of the sea, and was very quiet. I enjoyed a relaxing time using the private open-air bath included in the Plan and the all-you-can-drink refrigerator. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with ingredients that reflected the season. The Facility felt somewhat old but it didn’t bother me much. I would love to stay again!

    Unfortunately...

    I was really looking forward to this, so it’s truly disappointing... The Room I stayed in had an overwhelming moldy smell, making it a tough experience. The meals were delicious, and the staff in charge of the Room were very pleasant. Since this trip was meant to be enjoyable, I tried hard to focus only on the good aspects and not let negative feelings take over, but it was impossible (tears). The smell was something I had never experienced before, and I could hardly sleep at night. (It might depend on the Room though.)

    The overall atmosphere felt outdated.

    The private baths and large public bath were excellent, but the Ryokan itself felt older than expected overall, which was a bit disappointing for me personally.

    Delicious meals!!!

    Searched for an accommodation known for delicious cuisine and made a reservation. Dinner and breakfast did not disappoint, and we were extremely satisfied. The flavors rival those of famous Japanese restaurants and kappo in Tokyo. Stayed here as part of a ladies' gathering in our 50s, and it was a relaxing time that eased our daily fatigue. Upon arrival at the ryokan, we were slightly surprised by the retro feel of the facility, but the rooms, hallways, and banquet hall were well-cleaned, allowing us to stay comfortably. There were moments where we felt its age; for instance, the room door was hard to close properly, and the toilet ventilation was slow—these aspects stood out slightly. However, there were no troubles at all during our stay. The staff's hospitality was very kind as well. That said, it was disappointing to see cobwebs and insects around the lighting in the bath's washing area.

    Very satisfied

    Stayed with a friend from my company days who is over 60. We arrived at the hotel a bit earlier than expected, but the friendly female staff in traditional attire at the front desk kindly assisted us. The room included in-room dining, and the staff member serving us was very polite, providing detailed explanations about nearby tourist spots and engaging in delightful conversations. The meals were beautifully presented, delicious, and just the right portion size. The large public bath also had an open-air bath, which was wonderful. The futon bedding had just the right firmness for sleeping and softness for comfort. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. I would love to stay here again!

    For a stay on 6/13, an Accommodation Tax of ¥200 per person was charged. I believe this is the first time for a stay at Yugawara Onsen. When did this tax start? I noticed the Accommodation Tax after checking the Receipt at home.

    Room Assigned on Arrival (Japanese-style Room, 10 Tatami Mats + Enclosed Veranda) (Japanese-style Room)

    The room was as expected for the price, but we were very grateful for the shuttle service provided by the accommodation during heavy rain when it was difficult to get a taxi. Additionally, the billiards in the lobby were enjoyable, and the children had fun playing until just before check-in.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I arrived earlier than the check-in time, but the Room was ready, and I was immediately guided to it. The check-in process was conducted in the Room, allowing me to relax. The Room was quite spacious, featuring both Japanese-style and Western-style areas, making it very comfortable. I would love to visit again.

    We decided to visit relatives in Yugawara with my elderly parents and found this accommodation at the last minute. As mentioned in the description, it was an affordable plan with a randomly assigned room, and while the facilities like the toilet and bathroom were quite old, everything was kept very clean. Since I had informed them beforehand about bringing my parents who have difficulty walking, they kindly prepared a room close to the bath and provided simple beds for my parents who cannot sleep on futons. Although taxis were initially unavailable when we were leaving, they managed to arrange one for us so we could get to the station safely. The staff we encountered throughout the facility greeted us warmly, showcasing excellent hospitality. The large public bath and open-air hot spring were also wonderful. I was able to give my parents a lovely experience. Thank you very much!

    A Long-Awaited Return

    After several years, I had the pleasure of staying here again. The accommodation has been renovated, but it brought back nostalgic memories of my previous visit. The highlight of this hotel is undoubtedly the large public bath. With a gender-swapping system and an attached sauna, the water temperature is perfect, making it an exceptional onsen experience. For dinner, I appreciated being able to choose a smaller portion size, allowing me to enjoy everything with some drinks without leaving anything behind. The guest rooms are simple yet clean, with complimentary water provided in the refrigerator, offering great value for its reasonable accommodation cost. While there are minor inconveniences (such as limited replacements for bath towels or yukata), this traditional onsen accommodation provides a delightful and authentic experience.
