    Excellent hospitality

    The most memorable aspect was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. Even from a distance, they were attentive to guests, which was truly impressive. While strolling through the garden, a staff member kindly brought us a handmade garden map detailing the plants. Additionally, when we were relaxing in the fire lounge after dinner, they noticed us ahead of schedule and lit the fire earlier than planned. The suite villa we stayed in was also wonderful. The private garden was spacious, and the view of the lake beyond it was breathtakingly serene and healing. Although I didn’t carefully select my meal plan and missed out on meat dishes, both dinner and breakfast were delicious overall. With outstanding service and location, I would love to visit again. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    Relaxing Accommodation for Adults

    We stayed as a couple for the first time. The hotel was a lovely accommodation with a natural and organic taste. The food was also very delicious. We were satisfied with everything—the facility, room, onsen, food, and service. It's an accommodation where we talked about wanting to stay again as a couple on our way home! Highly recommended!!

    Healthy for both mind and body

    The facility is not large, but it offers a spacious and simple modern interior that provides a sense of tranquility. This time, we stayed in a single building room and enjoyed a relaxing moment under the shade of the garden trees while feeling the breeze. Although the pool is small, it was enjoyable. The meals were excellent. The dishes featured locally grown organic vegetables and Italian cuisine with perfect balance in both portion and taste, promoting healthiness. The garden at night was magical, evoking memories of childhood scenery. Breakfast was also satisfying. It is served in the room, and the vegetable soup was exceptional.

    I love this Hotel.

    Since our first visit last year, both my mother and I have been very impressed. We love the peaceful atmosphere by the lakeside. The Room and the entire facility are impeccably clean with a natural feel, and the staff provide warm and genuine hospitality. This time, our Room was compact, convenient, and comfortable; my mother even said, "Let's choose this Room again next time." The meals were made with carefully selected ingredients that are gentle on the body—both breakfast and dinner were delicious and highly satisfying. We deeply appreciate your thoughtful arrangements for my elderly mother, such as providing a chair at the entrance of our Room and in the bathroom. Thank you for taking care of us so well. We look forward to staying with you again!

    Ultimate Luxury and Relaxation

    A warm and courteous welcome from the moment we arrived. Our expectations were raised immediately, and they never dropped after that! Check-in was quick, allowing us to relax with a welcome drink while gazing at the serene lake. It was an incredibly luxurious experience. The room was very clean and had a calming atmosphere—not overly stylish but perfectly comfortable. Having an Onsen in the room was absolutely amazing! One small concern: there was a hole in one of the paintings in the room, which caught my attention. I wondered if it was part of the design, but it didn’t seem so—it felt slightly unsettling. The meals were all delicious and left us impressed throughout our stay. The portions were just right, allowing us to savor each dish at a leisurely pace. All ingredients seemed to reflect this season and location perfectly, making me want to visit again during another season as well! The staff members were not only polite but also approachable—maintaining just the right balance between friendliness and professionalism for a truly comfortable experience. Conversations with them became cherished memories of our stay. Even as we departed, they waved enthusiastically until our car disappeared from view—despite not knowing if we could still see them or not—which made us feel genuinely appreciated. This Hotel remained warm and wonderful until the very end—a place I would wholeheartedly recommend to someone special!

    Excellent customer service.

    From the warm welcome to the Shuttle Service, the hospitality was exceptional. In particular, the assistant manager's service was truly professional and made me feel I had arrived at a great Hotel from the moment I checked in. I enjoyed a relaxing coffee time on the terrace while admiring the view. The music added to the atmosphere, and their original coffee was delicious and perfectly suited my taste. The Room wasn't on the lakeside, but I could still catch a glimpse of the lake. The shower room has been beautifully renovated, and I found the sofa very comfortable to sit on. It was a cozy Room overall. The meals were visually stunning, made with local ingredients, carefully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The service during dining was smooth and elegant, enhancing an already pleasant atmosphere. Although there seemed to be some miscommunication about arranging a Shuttle Service for my departure, they remembered that I had walked in upon check-in and kindly informed me about their Shuttle Service directly to my Room later on. This attention to detail left a positive impression. This Hotel offers an excellent combination of ambiance, hospitality, and cuisine—truly outstanding!

    Repeat stay.

    Stayed at the lakeside villa in winter 2023 and loved the crab Italian cuisine, the Room, and the Onsen so much that I decided to return with my daughter this time. The crab Italian cuisine was absolutely delicious again! This time, we stayed in a concept Room in the main building, which was just as relaxing as the lakeside villa. We had a wonderfully peaceful stay. I’m planning to visit again soon on a spontaneous trip. It will be my first time experiencing Kyotango outside of winter, so I’m looking forward to it!

    A lovely accommodation by the quiet lakeside

    The Hotel and Room exude the warmth of wood, offering a fresh, clean, and relaxing atmosphere. Stepping out onto the terrace from the Room reveals views of lush greenery and a lake, accompanied by the sound of chirping birds. The semi-open-air bath in the Room features beautifully patterned tiles, showcasing attention to detail. Even with three people staying, the extra bed had a thick mattress and was as comfortable as a regular bed. Although small, the public bath was charming with flowers blooming right in front of the open-air bath. One suggestion would be to place a water pitcher in the lobby if adding a water dispenser to the public bath is difficult. The meals were all delicious, but above all, everyone’s hospitality was exceptional.

    It was a great holiday!

    I enjoy spending time relaxing in the Room. The meals are Western-style, offering a nice change of pace. It was inconvenient that there was no shoehorn in the Room! I like the simple and understated decor. I will visit again.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I had a quiet and relaxing time. The meals, made with local ingredients, were delicious. From the large windows, I could enjoy the peaceful countryside scenery and the lake. The spacious room had a semi-open-air bath, allowing me to soak in the Onsen anytime and enjoy a leisurely vacation after a long time. I could also watch YouTube using the projector. The interior design and amenities were excellent as well. However, it would have been even better if cold drinks were provided after bathing. The friendly yet respectful service was very satisfying. On my way back, they kindly drove me to the station while considering my train schedule and even took a detour to show me views of the sea—such thoughtful hospitality was truly appreciated.     Clean and sophisticated

    This is my second stay. The accommodation is clean and comfortable. The room is calm and provides a very pleasant space. The meal portions are just right, and the healthy breakfast was satisfying. It would be even better if the bath were an onsen, but that can't be helped.

    Overall, this is a high-level Facility.

    Located in a quiet town, it offers a perfect balance of tranquility without being too silent or noisy, and is an ideal spot for staying near the lake. The entire accommodation is clean and well-maintained, leaving a positive impression. While there were minor signs of aging, such as a wobbly faucet in the restroom, the guest rooms were clean and very satisfying. Additionally, the food was exceptionally delicious—undoubtedly among the top-tier accommodations I have ever stayed at. However, upon reviewing my bill after returning home, I noticed that I had been charged for beer I did not consume. Since I failed to notice this during checkout and had already paid for it, I called to request a refund politely but found their response unsatisfactory. Due to this experience, I rated their customer service as 1 star; otherwise, this would have been an excellent facility deserving 4 or 5 stars across all aspects. That said, such incidents are likely rare. Future guests should be able to enjoy their stay with satisfaction!

    Hotel stay to enjoy crab

    It was so good that I am writing a review for the first time. Despite the sudden reservation, all the staff responded politely. The room had a very good sense of style. It was a mountain-side room, but I could see the sunrise scenery perfectly. The amenities also had a nice fragrance and were pleasant. However, there was always something like dust floating in the room's bath, which concerned me slightly. The meals were delicious both in the morning and evening, no matter what we ate or drank. Breakfast by the lakeside while watching birds was soothing. I've only ever had Japanese-style crab courses for dinner before; it was my first time trying an Italian one, and everything tasted new and delicious. Even my companion who is particular about food was impressed and said they wanted to visit that hotel again just to have appetizers there. I also bathed in the onsen; there were no people around so I could relax leisurely. When going to the onsen you have to step outside once, but seeing the starry sky at that moment left a strong impression as it was very beautiful. I would definitely like to visit again if given another opportunity.

    It was a wonderful property.

    I used it to celebrate with my partner. The room was clean, comfortable, and very pleasant. Although it wasn't on the lake side, the view was still nice and enjoyable. Above all, having a bath in the room available at any time was fantastic. The temperature was always just right, and I enjoyed it many times. It was a bit disappointing that there were few cosmetic amenities. It would be nice to have night and morning portions for each person, as well as body milk and hair care products. I would also be happier if there were lotions, cotton swabs, and cotton pads available in the large public bath area. Both the large public bath and open-air bath were lovely; however, it was cold in the changing room, and the jet nozzle in the open-air bath was not ideally positioned for use—this was unfortunate. We changed our meal from standard at reservation to a crab course upon request—thank you for accommodating us so kindly. All of the dishes were excellent; they truly lived up to being called an auberge (auberge). The taste as well as explanations were thorough; we even took photos of wine bottle labels. I definitely want to use this place again—thank you very much!

    Delighted with delicious food and tasty drinks.

    The room was a concept room with a lake view bath & terrace, and the meal was a course to fully enjoy crab with wood-fired cuisine. The room and bath were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were kind and accommodated a sudden change in breakfast time. The dish was Italian-style cooked snow crab, which was an impressive experience I had never had before. I was recommended a sake I had never tried before, which made the meal even more delicious. Thank you for allowing me to spend a quiet and pleasant time that makes me want to visit again in the summer.

    Overall,

    Satisfied, but unfortunately, the toilet in the Room was cheap. The view from the Room was good, but when the curtains were open, the next Room was visible, so I kept them closed. (When it gets dark outside, it's completely visible) The food was excellent.

    Stay in Stylish Casual

    It was a stylish property with a very nice atmosphere. The lobby and lounge were quiet and relaxing. To get to the large public bath, you had to go through a roofed garden, so it was a bit cold. Since it was a winter bath, the place to wash your body was cold. Dinner was casual and creative, with just the right amount and very delicious. Breakfast was also well put together with good taste. During meals, they lent us blankets, which was helpful. It might be inevitable since it is a stylish hotel with large glass windows, but it was a bit cold inside. This time, we stayed in a triple bed room, which was just the right size and well cleaned. Everything, including the price, facility, meals, and service, was good. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Whole building rental Room

    This was my second stay, and this time I stayed in a room with a wood stove in a whole building rental. The wood stove was warm, and the fire was pleasant, allowing for a comfortable stay. All the staff were attentive, and the meals were all delicious. I would like to visit again.

    It is a quiet and well-located, lovely place. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were elaborate and truly delicious. The Onsen was also nice.     Take it easy on the second day as well.

    This Room was also lovely. There was a space like a sunroom, four beds, and the bathroom was spacious and nice. I would like to come again with friends someday. The large public bath is in a separate building, so it might be difficult on rainy or snowy days. For dinner, we went to the restaurant you recommended. The Aori Squid set meal was delicious. There are several farms in Kyotango, so you can also enjoy delicious gelato. I would definitely like to visit in other seasons as well. Thank you for taking care of us.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    I like Kyotango because it is not too far from Kyoto city and offers an extraordinary experience. This property has a Scandinavian atmosphere and was very calming. The staff were friendly and provided a heartfelt hospitality that was not just routine, which was wonderful. The room was simple yet had a nook that made me want to stay in it forever, and both the public spaces and the garden were relaxing, making me wonder if this was really Kyoto. The meals were full of the charm of Tango and were very delicious. My elderly mother also liked it very much. Thank you.

    Thank you for your hospitality the other day. Although we had to wait a bit at check-in, the room was spacious with a great view of the lake, and the food was delicious.     It was a wonderful property with great taste.

    The meals featuring local produce, the well-designed room with a Nordic touch, and the onsen (especially if it's a natural hot spring) were wonderful. Personally, I would have appreciated it even more if the dishes prominently featured organically grown vegetables and fresh fish. I felt it was a good property that blends the new styles of ryokan and hotel. The service was excellent. I would like to visit again.

    Always wonderful.

    I have stayed here several times, and each time the food and service are attentive and excellent. I recommend checking in early to relax. You can enjoy a blissful time by looking at the lake, reading a book, and drinking coffee!
