    I was deeply moved by the heartfelt hospitality.

    We visited Tensui for the first time to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. When making the Reservation, I mentioned in the comment section that my father's knees were not in great condition. Upon arrival, the staff showed thoughtful care and had set up a table and chairs in our Room, which was very considerate. The well-maintained garden, the sound of waterfalls from our Room, and the open-air bath overlooking Sakura Falls were all incredibly soothing. The Onsen had a silky texture that left our skin feeling smooth. For dinner, we opted for in-room dining with a kaiseki course. During the meal, we were surprised with a beautiful platter and yellow celebratory attire (a vest and cap) for my mother’s milestone. They even took commemorative photos and gifted us a framed picture shortly after! Both dinner and breakfast featured meticulously prepared dishes made with carefully selected ingredients; everything was absolutely delicious. Thanks to their heartfelt hospitality, we enjoyed a relaxing stay filled with gratitude towards all of the staff. My mother was overjoyed as well—we are truly glad to have chosen Tensui. Thank you so much!

    It was a wonderful accommodation, perfect for concluding an anniversary trip.

    We visited as the final accommodation of our Kyushu tour to celebrate our child's success. We were drawn to the ambiance and the view from the open-air onsen, so we made a reservation. It was such a lovely accommodation that we decided to change clothes in the parking lot (as we had been doing activities in Aso since morning and were dressed casually) before heading in. However, a staff member warmly welcomed us with a smile at the parking lot, so we entered wearing casual attire, feeling slightly apologetic. Throughout our stay, it was evident that information was well-shared among staff members. Even when I got lost inside, they kindly addressed me by name and asked if I needed assistance, making for an incredibly comfortable experience. Whenever staff passed by us, they paused their work to greet us with smiles—it felt both ticklishly delightful and heartwarming. The open-air onsen had a wild charm; listening to the sounds of waterfalls and flowing onsen water was soothing. We enjoyed various onsens multiple times during our stay. The meals were visually stunning and delicious! They even took into account my child's preferences as well as my husband's likes and dislikes for breakfast—this thoughtful consideration was much appreciated. Although it's far away from where we live and visiting Amagase frequently may not be possible, my son enthusiastically said: "Why not go back to Amagase just for Tensui?" He has already started planning our next trip! This has become quite lengthy but let me conclude by saying thank you for allowing us such wonderful moments during our stay!

    It was relaxing.

    Nestled quietly along a remote mountain path, the accommodation surprised us with its stunning garden. The room we were guided to was a serene Japanese-style room with a round window. We immediately visited the open-air onsen overlooking a waterfall. It was well-maintained and free of unnecessary items. Dinner was incredibly delicious, and the alcoholic beverages listed on the menu were reasonably priced. The Japanese-style breakfast featured a variety of vegetable-based dishes, and there was also a salad bar where you could choose your favorites. Coffee could be taken back to your room in paper cups—a thoughtful touch indeed. Until now, I had only known Yufuin and Beppu Onsen, but staying at such an amazing onsen destination was truly enjoyable and left a lasting impression. Thank you to all the staff for taking care of us!

    It was my first trip to Oita.

    We stayed in a room with an open-air bath. Unlike the expensive accommodations in Beppu or Yufuin, we were completely satisfied with both the room and the meals. In particular, the staff member who attended to us for three days and the head chef were very kind. Their friendliness and sincere attitude made our stay truly memorable. It was also amusing how much they loved Haikyuu! There were many foreign guests, so I imagine work can be challenging, but please do your best without overexerting yourself.

    A lovely property in the primeval forest

    The yamame trout meal was plump and delicious. All the dishes were delicious. The room was renovated, but it still had a retro feel, which was nice. The manju in the room was also very delicious, so I ordered some as souvenirs. The open-air bath in the falling snow was also wonderful. The person who took care of us in our room had a pleasant demeanor, which was great. Recently, when I stayed at a luxury property in Amakusa and Kurume, there were no attendants; various people came and went for serving meals, which left me with only negative impressions. So having an attendant here made me feel relieved. One person worked hard to lay out the futon by themselves; I thought it would be nice if they had another person to help them out. On the other hand, there were too many staff members at the breakfast venue in the morning. Even though they stood off to one side, there were always many people standing around watching us attentively; it made eye contact unavoidable and eating uncomfortable. Overall it's a lovely property.

    It was a very lovely...

    It was a very lovely Property. Although we were a bit anxious about the weather, the staff's response was excellent. Above all, the unexpected Room upgrade was beyond our expectations and made us very satisfied. Perhaps due to the cold weather, some areas of the bath felt slightly chilly, so we deducted points for that, but overall, it was a very satisfying trip.

    A mountain lodge with a unique Onsen

    Takimiyu is an onsen property with an attraction-like feel, such as overlooking a waterfall. The entrance is hard to find, and the garden is splendid, so it's better to arrive while it's still light. Meals were served in the room, giving a special feeling like a hidden hot spring in a traditional mountain lodge. In winter, the stairs for moving around and the outdoor washing area are cold, but it was enjoyable.

    Impressive Stays

    We stayed as a family for the first time during the New Year. The vast grounds feature a beautiful Japanese garden, open-air baths, indoor baths, and family baths, making the onsen tour within the property enjoyable. You might not be able to experience it all in just a one-night, two-day stay. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were elaborate and impressive. The staff were cheerful and attentive, making it a truly wonderful property. The miso buns served upon arrival were exquisite, and we were able to order them at the shop, so we bought some to take home. You can reserve them the day before and pick them up the next day. We would love to visit again. Thank you to everyone at the property.

    I had a great time this year as well.

    Every year in December, we stay with my daughter's family. It's been about 10 years now, but there are new discoveries every year. This year, the room was modernized. There are also many baths, so it's rare to be with other guests, allowing you to enjoy the Onsen at your leisure. The meals change every time and are always delicious. They are also kind to the little ones (8 years old, 5 years old, 2 years old). We will continue to visit in the future.

    Thank you very much for your various considerations the other day. From the time of the room guidance, the very cheerful, energetic, and lovely staff treated us well, and we were able to stay in a good mood. The Onsen, which is heavenly for those living in Kansai, was overflowing, and it felt so good that I entered it five times. The cuisine was also wonderful, and the heartfelt dishes were truly amazing. The breakfast was also satisfying with plenty of side dishes, freshly grilled fish, rolled omelet, delicious Jersey milk, and everything was delicious and very satisfying. All the staff members were smiling and kind, making it a truly pleasant stay. It's far, but I would like to visit again.     It was good.

    It was December, but it was the best season with autumn leaves in full bloom. The open-air bath overlooking Sakura Falls, the elaborate and delicious meals, and the hospitality made it a very satisfying stay. The dobinmushi for dinner and chestnut ice cream were impressive. It was a property that makes you want to come again.

    Due to a cancellation, our room was upgraded. It was retro yet very clean, and we were very satisfied. My wife repeatedly said, "This is the best property." Thank you very much. We will visit again.

    Onsen indulgence

    The property exceeded expectations. Trees, rocks, a river, and a retro building. There were many onsen options, including open-air baths, large indoor baths, and five types of family baths, and the room also had an open-air bath, so I enjoyed the onsen more than ever before. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were very delicious. The staff were all very kind. Many of the female staff, in particular, served with a smile and were very courteous. If I had to say, there were some inconveniences, such as broken showers in the women's large bath and the lack of amenities like facial cleansers and lotions in baths other than the room, but these were minor issues compared to the overall satisfaction with the ryokan. Both inside and outside the building, everywhere you look is so beautiful that you want to take photos. I was very happy to have found a ryokan I absolutely want to stay at again, and I returned home with a very happy feeling.

    It became a good memory.

    I decided to go because of the high ratings in the reviews. The inn is designed to match its nature-rich location, with excellent service and hot springs. You can see a waterfall from the window, making it a highly satisfying inn for those living in the city.

    Second time using

    This time, we stayed to celebrate a birthday and retirement. Thank you for accommodating our requests so pleasantly and for the celebration! Last time it rained, but this time the weather was nice, and we could see different scenery, which was great. The room had a sense of the good old days and was a very relaxing space. The view from the open-air bath in the room allowed us to feel nature, and the sound of the waterfall was superb! The meals were also very delicious. Both of us love hot springs, and we have stayed at most of the well-reviewed hot spring inns in Kyushu, but overall, I think this is an exceptionally wonderful inn. We definitely want to stay here again. Thank you for taking care of us this time.
