Comfortable pet room
We are a trio of onsen lovers, a couple and our senior dog, who enjoy pet-friendly ryokan and hotels in Hakone and Izu 2 to 3 times a month. Some pet-friendly rooms, no matter how luxurious, often lack views or are dark, making us feel disappointed as the accommodation fee is higher than regular rooms. However, at Ayakan this time, there were no buildings in front; we could see the bright sky through the trees and mountains in the distance. It was a pleasant room with an open-air onsen bath with flowing water that offered great value for money. The staff provided courteous service. We ordered additional lobster and scallops for our meal but found it somewhat lacking... Next time we might opt for No Meals Included or try an in-room bento-style meal.

Is it an Onsen????
Overall, it was not very pleasant. Onsen? The outdoor bath had a strong chlorine smell, and the indoor bath seemed to lack temperature control (the thermometer was out of the water). Dinner took too long from start to finish as they seemed to have seated many guests at the same time, and the quantity and quality did not match the price (New Year's Eve pricing). Regarding the room, there were several issues: ① The faucet in the washroom was wobbly. ② The entrance door opened in the opposite direction of evacuation. ③ The sliding door at the room entrance was off track (poor cleaning check). ④ There were too many gaps in synthetic fiber tatami mats (possibly with trash inside?). ⑤ Opening the toilet door hits the towel rack. ⑥ Poor handling of floor level differences (feet hit them). ⑦ Discrepancies between tablet content and printed materials received at check-in regarding times. ⑧ Window locks were broken. ⑨ Amenities could include at least a free toothbrush? No trash can in washroom either.⑩ Tablet explanations differed from reality photos (bathroom).⑪ Perhaps due to privacy concerns, but futons are left for each person without explanation... Other than that, removing shoes at entry might keep it clean? Are there slopes on corridors or floors? Structure is mediocre with several places where floors sink or creak significantly; toilet slippers are hard to wear (dangerous), PS keys in common areas were unlocked making pipe access easy; New Year’s morning offered sake but what about drivers?? These points stood out; overall impression wasn't good enough for recommending or returning—certainly not deserving a high rating like four stars—please reconsider ranking...

Enjoy to the fullest
Enjoy a course meal with Japanese cuisine using chopsticks. The cooking method allows you to savor the umami of fish, pork, and beef. It was excellent. Also, Japanese sake. I had a full breakfast as well. After all, it's Japanese cuisine. The open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water in the Room was quite large, allowing me to stretch my legs and enjoy a long soak under the starry sky. Both at night and in the morning. Although you have to go outside to move to the dining area or bath, the warm samue and jackets make it no problem even in sub-zero temperatures. The welcome drink-like service changed three times, and the champagne and chocolates were delicious.

It was unfortunate.
It can't be helped since it's the busy season. There are limits for a building rental company. The Facility was good. It was comfortable.
