    Room is Good, Meals are...

The room featured a wonderful open-air bath, allowing for a relaxing soak at just the right temperature. The room itself was more spacious than expected, and it was great to be able to adjust the air conditioning individually for each room. However, considering the price, I believe the amenities should be provided free of charge. The meals need improvement. On the reservation site, it stated: "Enjoy a buffet-style menu themed around 'Fujinokuni ~ Blessings of Izu ~,' featuring specialties from Shizuoka and Izu as well as seasonal ingredients." I was looking forward to this but was quite surprised upon arrival. There were only about 20 types of dishes available, and I didn’t feel much freshness or local ingredients in them. Additionally, dining in a dimly lit banquet hall made it difficult to enjoy the meal properly. Despite not being very crowded, seeing staff neglecting empty plates left me disappointed. Breakfast was similar; there wasn’t much that gave me a sense of being in Izu either. It might be wiser to consider using Marriott facilities or bringing your own food instead!

    Not sure.

I recently stayed at this accommodation. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a newly renovated feel. The onsen water, while not labeled with specific benefits, was gentle and left my skin smooth without being overly thick. However, the drinking water provided was only two 350cc bottles for two people. Although I heard tap water was drinkable, I wasn’t used to it and felt hesitant. Nowadays, many hotels provide unlimited bottled water. The meals were disappointing. The main fish and meat dishes at dinner lacked flavor! Meals are a significant part of the travel experience for me. Instead of serving both fish and meat, it might be better to allow guests to choose one option with an upgraded quality. Also, the pickles served with the final rice dish were quite underwhelming. For almost the same price, the neighboring Marriott offered delicious food and attentive service. The breakfast buffet here also seemed lacking; I would have appreciated an omelet station. The window facing the road in my room had shoji screens but also shades that I didn’t realize were there until my last day. As a result, I woke up too early due to excessive brightness in the morning light. Additionally, as someone dealing with cataracts, this caused headaches during my stay due to sensitivity to light glare. Perhaps consulting with reception could have helped; however, clearer instructions in the room would be appreciated since not everyone reads tablets! Lastly, both the bed and pillows felt too firm for me. I had high expectations but ended up disappointed overall.

    FANNY

This is the first time I have been so disappointed with a Hotel.

This stay was truly disappointing. First, from the moment of check-in, there were no smiles or greetings from the staff. The front desk staff remained silent and expressionless, showing no sense of hospitality toward guests. Due to the inconvenient location of the accommodation, I chose a plan that included breakfast and dinner. However, most of the meals provided seemed to be pre-made commercial products. On one evening, one dish was clearly spoiled with a sour taste and smell. When I informed the staff, the duty manager repeatedly insisted that "the meat is fine" without offering an apology and tried to divert attention from the issue with the spoiled side dish. Ultimately, all they provided as compensation was a single piece of meat as an afterthought. Is this kind of response acceptable in hospitality? The lack of sincerity left me feeling angry and disappointed. Additionally, there were significant hygiene issues in my room. The bathroom vent was covered in dust that had clearly accumulated over a long period without cleaning. Water stains were visible on the lid of the toilet paper holder—resembling streaks left after wiping carelessly with a cloth—suggesting poor cleaning practices likely involving just wiping lightly with towels found in-room. After checking out, I realized I had forgotten my facial cleanser on top of a black chair in the bathroom area but received no contact from hotel staff despite having provided my contact information at check-in. When I called them myself later on, they simply stated it "was not found," showing no effort or sincerity in their response. Having stayed at various accommodations before this experience stands out as one where every aspect—service quality cleanliness dining guest interaction—fell short leaving me deeply disappointed.I strongly urge improvements along w sincere efforts moving forward

    A drone was flying!

I stayed for three nights with my wife and two dogs in a room with an open-air bath, but the room was small, dirty, and dark, so we couldn't relax at all. Is the room where dogs stay also floored? It's my first time. Is it common? Anyway, the open-air bath was on a place like a veranda or terrace outside the room, and we had a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji right in front of us. However, when I entered the open-air bath at night and turned off the lights to relax, something flickering was flying around. At first, I thought it was an airplane flying by. But upon closer inspection, it was flying nearby and its movement stopped; I realized this wasn't an airplane but a drone! Thinking I needed evidence, I immediately took a video with my phone. The next day, I went to report yesterday's incident to the property's front desk. At first, I told one of the staff members about it but due to its seriousness, a person in charge came out. It was Mr. E., an assistant manager. After explaining everything from start to finish, the response from that person in charge! "We've never had such an incident before," "Since it's our property grounds if someone were to fly one they would need permission," etc., they didn't understand how serious this matter is... their response In conclusion, they suggested asking all other rooms if anyone saw any drones. Given how poorly handled things were by them, I considered contacting police; however since my wife mentioned we're here on vacation... Contacting police might involve site inspections? It could take up time? So ultimately decided against... In any case shocked by how poorly handled things were by them and learned never again will stay at properties under this chain. Not sure what exactly they were filming but ladies please be cautious

    The Last Trip

The view of Mt. Fuji from the room was amazing. This time, we stayed in the Yamashisuimei room with two pets and three family members. First, we were surprised by the cleanliness of the room, and we were able to relax and enjoy the open-air bath and the view with our pets, which was very satisfying. Although the property is working on environmental issues, I wondered about the fact that toothbrushes for guests are charged. Our beloved dog passed away after this trip, but we are very grateful for the wonderful memories we were able to make at the end.

    Not dog-friendly

The site mentioned in-room dining, but on the day, we were told that dogs cannot be taken to the restaurant, causing confusion... There's no way we can leave the dog in the room... The family in the next room, whom we met at the dog run, expressed the same dissatisfaction. Please announce this clearly when making a Reservation to avoid mistakes.

We stayed at Sanshisuimei for a family trip during the New Year. We were completely satisfied with everything! The room was clean, and the open-air bath was filled with onsen water, which was very pleasant. We used the tennis court and gymnasium! The children also enjoyed themselves. We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet both at night and in the morning. We are thinking of staying again next year!

The room and the onsen were very good, but it was disappointing that there were no facilities for children to play despite the very large grounds.

Perfect for traveling with your beloved dog!

I visited with my two beloved dogs, my mother, and my husband. There is an Onsen in the Room that you can enter at any time for 24 hours, so my body was always warm, and I was able to spend my time leisurely. The Room was also very clean. I would like to repeat many times in the future. Only the toilet heater was broken, so it would be helpful if it could be fixed for the coming season. I have also made a Reservation for the next time. Thank you very much.

I stayed for the first time. Since it opened in August, the room was as clean as new. This time, I had dinner served in the room, allowing me to enjoy it leisurely. The bath and terrace had a very nice atmosphere, and I went back and forth between the bathtub and terrace many times. However, it was a bit disappointing that the hot water had a chlorine smell. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely like to stay at this property again. The large public bath and breakfast restaurant required a car to get to, which was a bit inconvenient, but it was a very satisfying time. Thank you very much.

Stay with a dog. The Room was very clean, and above all, the Room bath was appreciated for those with pets. If I may say so, it would be a great service if meals could be eaten in the Room, even for an additional fee, so that pets would not be left in the Room.

Is the property challenging for seniors?

It was a trip with my parents who are over 90 years old. We moved to the restaurant building by car for breakfast, and when we pulled up to the entrance, the staff greeted us with a "Good morning" and immediately opened the back door without asking anything, saying, "Oh, it's not for golf," and closed the door, leaving us surprised. Of course, they apologized, but the same thing happened the next morning. This is extremely inconsiderate. Due to the structure of the building with the large public bath, cars cannot pull up to the entrance, and the distance from where we parked to the entrance was too far for the elderly to walk, so my parents gave up on bathing in the large public bath. My parents said they were satisfied because the open-air bath in the Room was pleasant, but...

    Staying at Building ...

Staying at Building No. 3. The new room has a scent of wood. The room with tatami mats has a scent of tatami. I made a reservation because it was a newly furnished room, and I'm glad I stayed. The open-air bath on the terrace is also new and has a luxurious bathtub. The temperature is constantly adjusted, and hot water is poured in, so you can enter at any time you like. The quality of the onsen itself is not great, but everything else is luxurious, so the satisfaction level is very high. There are two large TVs embedded in the wall. One in the bedroom and one in the living room. You can watch YouTube on the TV. It's a very wonderful TV. The room's interior, TV, toilet, shower room, terrace, onsen bathtub, washroom, and bed are all new and luxurious. I thought that if it were a hotel in the city, the accommodation fee would be very high... Since high-end hotels in the city don't have semi-open-air onsen bathtubs, the satisfaction level of this room is higher. Dinner was colorful and very delicious. The seasonal limited cocktail was also delicious. The breakfast buffet was neither good nor bad, just okay. I received a souvenir as a Diamond benefit. I received three times the amount of souvenirs I expected. I was surprised to receive so much, but I was happy. Despite the high satisfaction of the stay, the accommodation fee is not that high. I'm glad I stayed. The person accompanying me seems to have stayed here quite a while ago during a university seminar camp when they were a student. Of course, they didn't stay at Sanshisuimei, but they vaguely remembered and said it was nostalgic. The quality of the onsen is not great, and there is a chlorine smell, but I guess it means that proper hygiene measures are being taken. The quality of the onsen is not great, but the bath itself is wonderful. I entered about five times. It was a very nice property.

It was a Hotel I car...

It was a Hotel I carefully selected for my first trip with my beloved dog. We stayed for two nights and were able to spend a comfortable and pleasant time with my dog. Although I was a bit anxious because it was a separate building, we could see Mt. Fuji, and they brought us delicious meals like those in a traditional Japanese restaurant, which made us very satisfied. The bath was a little far, but it was not an inconvenient distance. It turned out to be a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

The open-air bath in the Room had good hot water.

The room was equipped with an open-air bath and was pet-friendly. We could see Mt. Fuji from the room, enjoy the open-air bath 24 hours a day, and the meals were wonderful and delicious. However, the room was dark, and I couldn't read the text. Am I the only one who thinks so? My brother, who went with me, also said it was dark. I feel it would be nice to have one more lamp in the room. For those staying with pets, it was stated that a stay agreement and rabies vaccination certificate are required and should be sent a week in advance, but I couldn't find where the stay agreement format was. When I called the hotel to ask them to send it, I was told it was paperless and available on the website. I made the reservation through IKYU, but I would have liked it to be noted that the format should be taken from the website. Also, I took screenshots of the vaccination certificates on my phone, but since I took four pictures for two dogs, the photos were too large to send as they were. I had to forward them to my daughter to reduce the size before attaching and sending them. I wonder if elderly people can manage such tasks. On the day of the trip, when I checked in at the front desk, I was asked if I had the vaccination certificates for the dogs. I wondered what all the effort to send them was for. We enjoyed the meals in the room, and even with the dogs, we could relax and fully enjoy the open-air bath in the room. It was great. Thank you very much.

After all, the Onsen feels good.

The first property I stayed at when I started "Drive Stay" was Sanshisuimei. This time, I stayed at the newly renovated Building No. 3. The view from the Amagiyama side was also open and wonderful. The spacious grounds offer relaxing spaces and onsen open-air baths. The room size, as well as the meals, are all of high quality and very comfortable. The balance with the price is also good.

I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days to focus on work.

【Good Points】 - At check-in, we were assisted by experienced staff, making the process pleasant. - Other detailed requests were also handled smoothly, resulting in a stress-free experience. - The private open-air bath in the guest room was excellent, although the view was a bit lacking... - The Room was spacious, the bed was fluffy, and the amenities were plentiful, which was appreciated. 【Bad Points】 - The front desk staff were working with a sigh. - Generally, all the young staff had a bad attitude. - Additionally, their processing speed was slow, giving the impression that they weren't thinking about anything.

I stayed with her and the dogs. I liked that the open-air bath attached to the Room was available 24 hours. A place I want to visit again!

This is my second time using this accommodation. Last time, I stayed in a room with an open-air bath without a terrace, and I could see Mt. Fuji from the bath, which was very nice. This time, I chose a room with an open-air bath and a terrace. The room was spacious, the terrace was pleasant, and it was perfect. Since my dog is 16 years old and the floor was slippery, I brought mats and rugs from home this time. One thing that bothered me was that the pillow was too hard, and I couldn't sleep last time, so I brought my own this time. (I forgot it and left it behind) It would be nice if they could provide a softer pillow as a spare. Since there are no shops around, if you don't include dinner, you have to bring your own, but it's a shame that the restaurant only offers a course menu for dinner. I would be happier if there were more casual dining options. However, the staff provided very pleasant service, and I had a comfortable stay. It has become a place I want to revisit. I will be back again. Thank you very much.

    Very good hotel

It is a very good hotel. First of all, the staff are very kind and courteous, truly the face of the hotel. The hot spring is easy to enter without any peculiarities. It seems they will improve the abundance of moss, so I look forward to that in the future. The facilities can be used without any problems. It's a bit disappointing that the amenities are not free. Considering the hotel accommodation fees, amenities represent the hotel's rank, so for those who want to enjoy a non-routine vacation, having an abundance of extraordinary amenities might allow them to fully enjoy their vacation. However, this hotel seems to cater more to those who play golf rather than tourists. There are no tourist spots nearby, nor is there a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji, so it's better to think of Mt. Fuji as something you might see faintly in the distance if the weather is good. The front desk and each room are separated, and you have to go uphill, which feels a bit inconvenient, but I think it's suitable for those who want to relax and enjoy a secluded hot spring experience since there's nothing else around.

    Dog Cottage with Open-Air Bath

This time, my husband, our dog, and I stayed in a dog-friendly cottage with an open-air bath. The room was spacious, equipped with everything necessary for both humans and our dog. There were two double-sized beds, yet the room still felt spacious. We were also delighted with the souvenir goods for our dog. The open-air bath was pleasant, with high-quality hot spring water. We enjoyed it multiple times during our stay. There was a microwave, so we could have a leisurely dinner indoors with our dog at night. For breakfast, we used the breakfast buffet. There was a wide variety of bread, but it was disappointing that they all tasted the same, and we wished there were more side dish options. We were very satisfied with the room, so we would like to stay again.

    I wanted to go to a ...

I wanted to go to a place with a hot spring where we could bring our pet dog, as per my wife's request, and we chose Laforet Shuzenji, which matched our criteria of not being too far and having a private bath in the room. We were completely satisfied with the room, bath, view, location, and meals. My wife was especially delighted with the dinner; the sashimi platter and steak were both excellent in presentation and taste. The staff's service was kind, and we had a pleasant dinner time. I would have liked to give five stars, but there was one issue: we had two dogs (a slightly larger Chihuahua and a Pomechi), but there was only one cage and one set of dishes, and it was particularly difficult to fit both dogs in the cage. Other than that, the quality of the hot spring was excellent, and it was perfect for a one-night trip. The beautiful golf course next door was very tempting, but I plan to enjoy that on our next visit.

    Chikuwa's Holiday

This was our second stay at Sanshisuimei. This time, it was a trip to celebrate the anniversary of our Shiba Inu joining our family last year. We soaked in the open-air bath multiple times in the modern Japanese-style room, relieving our daily fatigue. There is also a sufficient sense of privacy. Our dog was a bit nervous on his first trip, eating less and seeming a bit restless, but once he relaxed, he lay on the floor without barking and managed to stay overnight peacefully. The dog amenities were well-stocked, and there was even something like a quick wiper, which was very handy. Some amenities have been discontinued, so I recommend bringing your own toothbrush and toothpaste. There were samples of Sekkisei for skincare. It's a place rich in nature that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons. It was still quite hot in September, but we want to continue going out often, taking care of our dog's health, and creating wonderful memories. It was a joy to travel with the whole family, including our dog, after a long time.
