    This is my second st...

    This is my second stay. Everything was excellent last time, and I had no hesitation in choosing this place again. The lounge was even better than before, exceeding my expectations. I would love to stay here again!

    We stayed with my 93...

    We stayed with my 93-year-old mother and two daughters. Access from Kansai is quite challenging, but this Hotel offers a Shuttle Service to Mishima Station, making it very convenient for my elderly mother. In the Room, we enjoyed a relaxing open-air bath with views of Mt. Fuji, and in the morning, the view of Mt. Fuji from the rooftop open-air bath was truly breathtaking. The temperature was much cooler and more comfortable compared to our home, allowing us to spend an absolutely blissful time. The portion sizes of the meals were just right for our age group; however, both dinner and breakfast felt slightly under-seasoned. It would have been nice if salt and pepper sets were provided on the side. We also appreciated having access to a lounge where we could enjoy soft drinks or alcohol as well as booking a Plan that included access to the Yamanashi Wine Lounge—this allowed us to relax over drinks and conversations before and after meals. Additionally, I had just celebrated my birthday five days prior, so receiving a surprise gift from the Hotel was incredibly touching! It became such a wonderful memory for me. The Room was so lovely that I wished we could have stayed longer until check-out at 11:00 AM; however, since the Shuttle Service bus departs at 10:15 AM for Mishima Station, it felt rushed. If only they could set the bus departure an hour later—it would allow guests like us to enjoy a leisurely late breakfast followed by some time in the open-air bath or relaxing in the lounge afterward!

    Wedding Anniversary

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth as it could be done on the 4th floor. Since my husband has many food restrictions, we informed them in advance, and they kindly accommodated us, allowing us to enjoy a delicious meal. Everything felt carefully prepared, and warm dishes were served while still hot, which made them even more enjoyable. As we chose a Room service Plan, we were able to relax at our own pace. We also enjoyed several bars within the facility; the wine bar had a wide selection and was very satisfying. The hospitality was excellent as well. However, one downside was that the air conditioning didn’t work well, making it slightly warm in the room. It was cloudy during our stay, so next time we hope to visit on a day when Mount Fuji can be seen from the bath! Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience!!

    Accommodation with a view of Mount Fuji!

    We discovered this accommodation in Yamanashi Prefecture while searching for a place where my parents, visiting from afar, could enjoy views of Mt. Fuji! We stayed in Room 441, Type A at Fukuchi. The room was spacious and perfect for my elderly parents, with dinner and breakfast served in the room and even a private open-air bath—truly an exceptional stay! The lounge offered unlimited beer, sparkling wine, white and red wine, soft drinks, coffee, snacks, and sweets—a fantastic touch! The view from the room and the meals were outstanding. The staff member who attended to us during meals was incredibly thoughtful and had such a warm demeanor that it made our time even more enjoyable. After dinner, we enjoyed various events like a taiko drum show, bingo tournament, live piano performance at the bar with drinks—it was so much more than just an ordinary accommodation or hotel stay. These activities made it truly memorable! Among them all, the taiko drum show left a deep impression—the powerful sound resonated through our bodies as we watched the performers' passionate display. It was truly moving. The bingo tournament brought back childhood memories; I believe these moments will remain cherished memories as time goes by. Most importantly, seeing my parents' joyful expressions made everything worthwhile! Thank you so much for providing us with such wonderful moments! We will definitely visit again!

    Relax in the club lo...

    Relax in the club lounge, enjoy matcha and amazake while strolling through the beautiful courtyard. Admire Mount Fuji from the panoramic bath before dinner, followed by a taiko drum show and bingo. Thanks to all these wonderful experiences, time flew by, and we had an amazing stay.     The guidance was disappointing.

    It was quite surprising. Upon arrival, we were made to stand on the lobby stairs while being given an explanation of the facility. The lounge explanation only covered the 4th floor, and we were unaware that there was also a lounge available on the 1st floor. There was no explanation about the Room either. At the dining venue, communication about meal details did not go smoothly. While I understand there may be staff shortages, it turned out to be a very disappointing trip. I had heard this was a good Ryokan and was looking forward to it, but it ended up being ruined. I would have appreciated clear explanations about the open-air bath hours as well; when I went intending to use it, it was already closed. I cannot understand why I had such an unpleasant experience despite paying such a high cost for my stay.

    Amenities include...

    I made a reservation to see Mount Fuji up close, and it truly is Japan's most magnificent mountain. During my stay, I was able to admire it thoroughly whenever it appeared. Although the yellow dust made the sky hazy and photos didn't turn out great, I was delighted to unexpectedly enjoy the full bloom of cherry blossoms. The rooftop open-air bath was amazing, and the onsen in the room had a gentle quality that I loved. The food was also incredibly delicious. It was disappointing that there wasn't any Mount Fuji tofu at breakfast. The room itself was excellent, but the amenities were quite disappointing—my wife's cleansing cream didn't work properly, and personal amenities weren't provided. However, we enjoyed the breathtaking views, delicious meals, and events like taiko performances. Thank you very much!

    An accommodation that never gets boring.

    Upon arrival, enjoy matcha and traditional Japanese sweets in the tea room while listening to the soothing sound of the river, followed by amazake in a separate building and a stroll through the garden. The accommodation offers three types of onsen: a semi-open-air bath in your room, a large public bath, and an open-air bath on the rooftop. Before dinner, relax in the lounges on the 1st and 4th floors with beer, wine, and light snacks. After dinner, enjoy a taiko drum show, followed by a bingo game, and from 9 PM, a cocktail time ensures an entertaining evening until bedtime. To fully enjoy your stay, early check-in is recommended. Except for beverages during dinner, all of the above is included in the accommodation fee. Looking forward to your next stay!

    Decline in service for children and decrease in both the quality and quantity of meals.

    This was my 7th stay at the accommodation. Compared to my stay in November two years ago, the dinner menu during my stay in December last year and this time has seen the removal of items such as appetizers, simmered dishes, and palate cleansers, leaving noticeable gaps in the menu. While the number of inbound guests has increased and prices have risen, the quality and quantity of meals have declined. For first-time guests, this might seem acceptable, but for those of us who know the previous excellence in quality and quantity, it is disappointing. Additionally, in the past, snacks were provided for both of my children, but this time, no drinks or snacks were offered upon arrival for them. We also did not receive the matcha tickets that were previously given. Furthermore, amenities such as toothbrushes for children were not prepared in the room. This has never happened before when booking with bedding and meals for children at the villa, but the service for children seems to have deteriorated. The facilities, including the wine lounge, onsen, drum show, and garden, remain excellent, and I would like to continue visiting. However, I would appreciate it if you could prepare meal courses with quality and quantity, even if the price increases. Lastly, there was an incident where inbound guests seemed to be waiting for others to exit the wine lounge. As we were leaving, they quickly entered through the automatic doors. For guests paying the high wine lounge usage fee, this feels unfair. It might be better to check if they have the exclusive key before allowing entry.

    Stunning views at night

    Last February, it was rainy, and we couldn't see Mount Fuji at all, but this February, the weather was clear with almost no clouds, and we could even see Mount Fuji at night. The meals were perfectly portioned—not too much or too little—and the quality was excellent. The bath temperature set at 42°C was just right, and for the first time during the 8:30 PM taiko drum performance, there was a solo act that was truly impressive. It became a wonderful accommodation experience to celebrate our engagement anniversary.

    Impressed by Mount Fuji and our service!

    This was our first time staying at Bessho Sasa as a family of four. The weather was perfect with clear skies! The view of Mt. Fuji from the 5th floor Fukuchi room was even more magnificent than on the website, leaving us in awe. We have stayed at many accommodations around Lake Kawaguchi, but this is undoubtedly No.1! The service was excellent, from the warm welcome at the entrance to check-in in our room (with an explanation of the facilities) and check-out at the exclusive lounge on the 4th floor. What impressed us most was the dinner service in our room—the timing of serving dishes, explanations about each dish, and their response to our photo requests were all outstanding. The facilities offered a quiet and relaxing atmosphere with exclusive lounges (on both 1st and 4th floors) providing light snacks and beverages, as well as sweet sake, matcha tea with sweets in the garden area. After dinner entertainment included a taiko drum show and bingo game (we won second and third prizes!), making for an enjoyable experience overall. Strolling through their expansive and beautiful garden was also delightful. As mentioned in their email, checking in at 2:30 PM turned out to be perfect timing—thank you for that recommendation! The private onsen bath in our room allowed two people to relax comfortably while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji. There is one suggestion we’d like to make for improvement: please consider updating your beverage menu during dinner service. It felt outdated without clear recommendations or highlights. A separate menu featuring recommended drinks with descriptions and photos would be helpful (other accommodations often provide local specialty drink menus). This time we visited during January’s winter season but look forward to returning during Lake Kawaguchi’s autumn foliage festival next time!

    It was excellent.

    Soaking in the Onsen in the room while enjoying a close-up view of Mt. Fuji was a dream come true, making it a truly wonderful trip. The staff's hospitality was attentive, and the meals were absolutely delicious. This time, I viewed Mt. Fuji from the plane, the bullet train, and from your property, but the view from your property was the best. I hope to visit again to experience the beauty of all four seasons. Looking forward to the next time!

    A beautiful Hotel with a semi-open-air Room offering views of Mt. Fuji, a garden for strolling, and a footbath. The Hotel provides plenty of entertainment to keep you engaged, such as taiko drum performances, piano recitals, and bingo games after dinner. The lounge is well-stocked with snacks and drinks, creating a bright and clean atmosphere that’s welcoming even for solo travelers. While the cleaning staff and meal servers were very pleasant, the front desk service could use some improvement (e.g., when reporting an issue in the public bath area, their response felt somewhat lacking in urgency or courtesy).

    The value of the Hotel depends on the weather.

    I booked the accommodation to see Mt. Fuji, but unfortunately, I couldn't see it at all for two days. Although I stayed in a room with an open-air bath, my satisfaction decreased since Mt. Fuji was not visible. The building itself is old, and for this room with a bath, 110,000 yen feels expensive. There were many staff members at the entrance to greet guests, but they didn't particularly do anything helpful despite their numbers. I think this hotel’s evaluation greatly depends on whether you can see Mt. Fuji or not.

    Luxurious Time

    It was a one-night trip with my daughter to express gratitude for recovering from a serious illness. I was very satisfied with the setup of the Room, the meals, and the hospitality in the lounge. The in-room dining was served at just the right timing, allowing us to enjoy it warm and delicious. I would love to visit again if given the opportunity.

    The staff member made me feel uncomfortable.

    I usually avoid writing negative reviews, but this being my fourth visit and feeling quite disappointed, I decided to share my experience. I have always loved the stunning views, facilities, and Onsen here, which is why I kept coming back. However, has there been a change in management recently? One of the highlights for me was enjoying the rooftop open-air bath with a view of Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, there was no proper information about its availability, and I ended up missing it entirely. Additionally, for a group of four women staying together, only three beers were provided in the fridge—this choice of drinks felt odd and inadequate. The dining experience was also disappointing; although we were supposed to enjoy meals served in our Room at our own pace, dishes were cleared away without notice even before we had finished eating—it was truly upsetting. Moreover, the Shuttle Service to Oshino Hakkai that used to be available is no longer offered now—another letdown during this stay. The only saving grace was the wonderful drum show and breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji from our Room!

    Club Lounge Services

    This is my third stay at Bessho Sasa. Last time, the draft beer in the club lounge was out of stock, and this time it was also unavailable. Are you learning from past feedback? Considering the high price we pay to stay here, even one negative aspect can result in a one-star rating. The more I stay, the less I want to return. Please think carefully about this.

    Despite arriving aft...

    Despite arriving after the meal time, we were warmly welcomed, which we greatly appreciated. The food was exceptionally delicious and thoughtfully prepared, allowing my 90-year-old mother with dental issues to almost finish her meal. The open-air bath was wonderful and so relaxing that I wanted to stay in it forever. It was unfortunate that we couldn't see Mount Fuji due to the rain. We also regret not having enough time to fully enjoy the Ryokan experience. We hope to visit again soon for a second chance!
