    A wonderful Hotel you'd want to visit again

    Check-in after 8 PM. Upon entering the room, I was greeted by the aroma of tea, which made me feel delighted by the hotel's hospitality. Although I initially felt disappointed about staying without dinner due to arriving after an event, I managed to visit Yamanote Café before it closed at 9 PM. There, I ground coffee beans and enjoyed a cup of coffee along with a cookie and a slice of cake, which allowed me to relax. The onsen was excellent as well; with the sudden autumn chill in the air, the warm water soothed my soul and helped me sleep soundly. Breakfast was filled with Akita's seasonal flavors! From junsai and tonburi to iburigakko, fresh eggs with care in preparation, and hotpot—I thoroughly enjoyed it all before heading off to Mount Chokai. Next time, I'd like to savor this museum-like hotel more fully along with dinner. It was a wonderful hotel!

    Onsen with silky smooth water quality

    Across the road, there are numerous tennis courts, possibly part of a municipal facility or a school. Despite the unexpected location, the Hotel offers a tranquil atmosphere surrounded by a forest once you step inside. The free drink café provides beverages and snacks. There is also an indoor pool. The Onsen features silky, soothing water, and the open-air bath is exceptionally relaxing. Dinner is a French course meal made with local ingredients, while breakfast is a Japanese-style meal featuring Akita's famous Akitakomachi rice. The complimentary gift for Diamond members was impressive—thank you very much!

    Beware of bear sightings.

    A truly wonderful Resort Hotel for adults. The meals were particularly satisfying with generous portions and high quality, served in stylish tableware. Although the surrounding area is a resort destination with many sports facilities, the hotel's location on a mountainside had signs warning of bear sightings, which was quite concerning. Since we traveled by car, it was not an issue at all, but it discouraged us from taking morning or evening walks around the area.

    A charming forest resort located in the hills

    Arriving at the Hotel after a Shuttle Service from Omagari Station, the journey transitioned from city streets to mountain roads, revealing breathtaking highland scenery before reaching this charming retreat nestled in the forest. The staff provided calm, precise, and welcoming service, leaving a positive impression. The Hotel's spacious design allowed for ultimate relaxation. Dinner featured creative French cuisine made with local ingredients and delicious sauces, while breakfast offered a traditional Akita-style meal complete with Kiritanpo. The Onsen was delightful, with an open-air bath surrounded by the forest where you could hear birds chirping. Although we couldn't fully utilize the expansive living room reminiscent of "party rooms" from the bubble era, we enjoyed beer via room service after bathing and indulged on a spacious terrace filled with forest aromas. This is truly a wonderful Hotel that embodies its name with an abundance of "forest charm" and "mountain elegance."

    It felt like being in the forest, allowing for a relaxing stay.

    We stayed as a couple in our 60s and 70s. The place was very quiet, and the Room was very clean, allowing us to relax. The meals were just the right portion for our age group and were very delicious. The staff were all pleasant, making us want to visit again. If I may add a wish, it would be great if there were Rooms with beds available. Thank you for your hospitality!

    A Relaxing Accommodation Surrounded by Forest

    When returning to Akita, I chose this onsen accommodation with shuttle service from the Shinkansen station due to its great reviews and Western-style cuisine. The staff contacted me twice in advance to confirm my stay, which was very courteous and left a good impression even before arriving. Dinner was creative French cuisine served with chopsticks, skillfully incorporating Akita's local ingredients, and it was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was Japanese-style with kiritanpo soup; however, I felt damako mochi might have been more fitting for the soup dish. The onsen had a silky texture and felt amazing, but it was overheated for summer, making long soaks difficult—this was a bit disappointing. Amenities are minimal, so be sure not to forget your essentials. The free café offered a wide variety of coffee and tea options that were enjoyable!

    It was a good Hotel.

    The spacious design of the accommodation and the limited number of rooms allow for a relaxing stay. While it may not be a new facility, it is well-maintained and offers a pleasant experience. Although not affiliated with IKYU, we were delighted by the sincere and professional hospitality from all staff members, especially after staying at an unpleasant accommodation in northern Akita Prefecture the previous day. We reserved a standard meal plan but found the food to be more delicious than expected—having baguettes would have been an added bonus. The impressive large public bath was always available for private use, providing a comfortable bathing experience. Despite signage indicating circulation and disinfection, it was an excellent onsen. This is an accommodation we would love to visit again in another season.

    Quiet Resort Hotel

    The Onsen is particularly wonderful. The water quality is excellent, highly recommended for true Onsen enthusiasts. The room was spacious and relaxing, providing a soothing experience. However, the wine served at the restaurant was disappointing; it would be better if it were tasted before serving.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    The driver, front desk staff, room attendants, and restaurant staff all provided genuine hospitality, allowing us to relax completely. Although the facility is old, it was impeccably clean and comfortable everywhere. From the moment we entered the room, we were soothed by the aroma of a tea incense burner. A teabag filled with plenty of tea leaves was also prepared along with a teapot, making it easy to enjoy delicious tea right after our arrival when we were tired. The samue provided in the room was also very convenient. Surrounded by forest both outside the room and at the open-air bath, we felt refreshed. The dinner course featured excellent local ingredients and every dish was incredibly delicious (though I found the flavor of the oyakodon a bit strong). At checkout, I even received an expensive souvenir for IKYU Diamond members—an unexpected gesture that left me humbled. It was a delightful treat that I had hoped to buy in Omagari anyway! This truly is an exceptional accommodation. I would love to visit again someday!

    We felt hospitality in every detail.

    Our family of five enjoyed a multiple night stay at your accommodation. What stood out the most was the hospitality of the staff, who clearly wanted guests to have a pleasant experience. Before our stay, we received detailed explanations over the phone about meals and parking locations. During our stay, in addition to confirming meal times, there was a form in our room for cleaning preferences since we were staying multiple nights. We could choose from options like full cleaning and replacement, towel replacement only, or leaving the bedding as is. I was impressed by this guest-oriented approach despite it likely being extra work for the staff. The extended hours of the CAFE corner and handmade treats by your patissier felt truly luxurious—I couldn’t resist indulging! All staff members—from reception to restaurant and room attendants—provided attentive service with ease, making our stay very comfortable. We had been following your Instagram posts about meals with great anticipation, and they exceeded expectations! My husband, who prefers Japanese cuisine, still says days later how delicious everything was. For me personally, adding a touch of vinegar to the oyakodon dish made it memorable—it provided a refreshing finish to an already impressive course. Regarding children’s meals: while they were so well-prepared that even adults would want some bites (and we did!), one small suggestion would be providing simple guidance on menu structure beforehand. On day one after receiving an elaborate dish followed later by grilled items unexpectedly arriving afterward—we assumed similar pacing on day two but finished too quickly thinking another plate might follow when none did arrive afterward! While not needing adult-style menus per se; brief notes such as “Soup & final plate coming next” versus “Only soup remains ahead” upfront helps parents/children better pace themselves accordingly overall! This being first-time visiting Akita prefecture altogether left lasting impressions thanks warm-hearted locals alongside unforgettable moments spent within hotel premises alike genuinely grateful experiences shared here today sincerely hope returning someday soon again thank-you much indeed!!

    Beautiful paintings

    The beautiful paintings displayed in the hallway lifted my spirits. The meals were delicious, and I had a relaxing time in the Onsen, followed by coffee in the lounge for a wonderful experience.

    It was a hectic trip, but we were able to relax with the warm hospitality and the onsen. The kids seemed to really enjoy the private pool. The creative French dinner with a Japanese twist was refreshing. While the parent-and-child rice bowl at the end of dinner had a slightly unusual taste due to vinegar, the Kiritanpo hot pot for breakfast was absolutely delicious! On our way back, we realized that my daughter had forgotten her accessory at the accommodation, but they kindly mailed it to us, which was incredibly helpful. Thank you so much!

    The meals are exceptional, providing a high level of satisfaction.

    Based on the Review, the Onsen and meals were highly praised, so despite being slightly off the tourist route, we decided to stay here. As a result, it received rave reviews from all family members who accompanied me. The food was absolutely delicious. After returning home and checking Instagram, I could see how much effort was put into it. The Onsen was also excellent. I never expected to have such a cost-effective experience during Golden Week... As for the IKYU Diamond Member benefits, they hadn't left much of an impression on me before, but this time I truly enjoyed the local sweets souvenir!

    Stylish Hotel

    It was an accommodation filled with the owner's unique touches. The facility featured displays such as Seiji Fujishiro's paper cutouts and a collection of kokeshi dolls, creating a stylish atmosphere without typical souvenir items. The room we stayed in had a view of another facility's tennis court, but during summer, the view might be different as it could be hidden by trees. The dinner concept of French cuisine enjoyed with chopsticks was elegant. Without using particularly luxurious ingredients, the dishes were creatively prepared from a fresh perspective. However, considering our age, we preferred thinly sliced beef over beef cheek meat and found Hinai chicken more enjoyable in the breakfast hot pot than in the elaborate dinner rice bowl. We loved the bath facilities—spacious, clean, and seemingly with excellent water quality. Last year during our trip to Tohoku, we stayed at another memorable hotel and later discovered it belonged to the same group as this one—Mountain Hand Hotel—which made perfect sense to us. This is a hotel we'd love to revisit if given another opportunity!

    Thank you for the Shuttle Service from Omagari Station. Everyone was very kind and accommodating, which was wonderful. The only issue was the large number of stink bugs, but everything else was highly satisfactory.

    Warm hospitality and delicious meals

    The staff contacted us multiple times before our departure to confirm details, and their thoughtful care continued during our stay. The meals were absolutely delicious. Ramps and handrails were installed throughout the facility to accommodate any level differences. We hope to visit again during the Omagari Fireworks Festival. Thank you very much!

    The Onsen was wonderful.

    The onsen was pleasantly lukewarm, allowing for a long and relaxing soak. The meals were delicious, though I found the game meat a bit challenging to eat as it’s not my preference—I wish I had mentioned this in advance. I chose the Junior Suite for its bed, but the room felt too spacious. It would be great if beds could be placed in Japanese-style rooms so they can be reserved as twin rooms. Alternatively, adding an onsen to the Junior Suite would make it even more appealing. I look forward to visiting again—thank you!

    A local-loving accommodation, fully satisfying!

    Drawn by the high reviews, we visited Yamanote Hotel for a stay with three generations: an elderly couple and their grandchild. The silky onsen, kind staff, beautiful meals featuring local ingredients, and handmade sweets by the chef in both the lounge and our room were delightful. In the lounge, you can enjoy tea, rooibos tea, fruit water, or even grind your own coffee beans to brew coffee. (Thank you for helping us when we struggled with it—sorry for the trouble!) The pre-arrival call to confirm our reservation details was very considerate. When I mentioned that my elementary school-aged grandchild wanted adult meals and that we had booked for three adults accordingly, the chef kindly prepared a different sorbet without alcohol just for them. It made us happy to see each guest treated with such care—even children. We were informed by staff that dinner menus change seasonally; as we stayed on April 1st, it was explained that this was the first day of their spring menu. The dishes beautifully captured springtime essence; every dish was exquisite and served on lovely tableware. However, perhaps making the braised beef cheek a bit more tender would make it easier for older guests to enjoy. For breakfast, I tried "Kimi no Yoin" raw egg over rice—it was rich and absolutely delicious! The kiritanpo hot pot soup, junsai (water shield), strawberries, grated daikon radish... everything local tasted amazing and brought happiness from morning onwards. Our room was clean and quiet; we enjoyed a peaceful stay throughout. However, there seemed to be ants marching in line at the men's bath dressing area—perhaps it's due to spring bringing out insects? At checkout as an IKYU Diamond Member benefit gift set from local confectioner Tsujiyama surprised us with its grandeur! We truly felt your love for your region through this thoughtful gesture. After returning home safely together as family members savored these treats gratefully too! We look forward visiting again once summer menu arrives soon thank-you so much!

    Onsen, cuisine, and service - all exceptional.

    This was a Hotel I had been curious about for a long time. The day before my stay, I received a confirmation call from the Hotel, which gave me peace of mind. Although I arrived slightly earlier than planned, there was a small lounge where I enjoyed tea and cookies. These cookies were handmade by the chef and were absolutely delicious. The Onsen, which I was most looking forward to, was impeccably clean and very relaxing. The open-air bath, in particular, allowed me to unwind completely on my own. It was so wonderful that I ended up using it five times during my stay. The meals were also delicious, and I finished everything without leaving any leftovers. Even though there were ingredients I didn’t like, they kindly replaced them with alternatives and even updated the menu accordingly. Such thoughtful attention to detail is rare. This is definitely an Accommodation I'll be returning to!

    It was a wonderful stay.

    Famous for its fireworks, Omagari was our destination this time as we wanted a relaxing stay, and we found this accommodation. Since it was still a cold season, it was great to spend time leisurely within the hotel premises. Grinding coffee beans with a mill after a long time was slightly bitter but an enjoyable experience. The hotel-made pound cake was also delicious and satisfying. Above all, my companion seemed to really enjoy the meals (both breakfast and dinner), and upon learning that other meal plans were available, they expressed their desire to visit again with joy, which made me happy too. The onsen in the large public bath left my skin feeling smooth, and the open-air bath was very pleasant as well. Perhaps because of the spaciousness of the hotel and the distance between rooms, even though there were groups staying there too, I didn’t hear any noise at all. I would love to stay here again!

    I found this accommodation in Akita Prefecture through the recommended section and decided to make a reservation. The meals at the restaurant were served as course dishes and were extremely delicious. I would love to use this accommodation again if I have the chance next time.

    It was very comfortable!

    We stayed as a group of seven spanning four generations. The accommodation had about three rooms, providing plenty of space to relax. Although we were informed there were no convenience stores nearby, coffee and tea were available in the room and at the beverage corner, so we didn’t need to bring anything ourselves. Additionally, handmade petit desserts by the chef were provided both in the room and at the beverage corner, which were absolutely delicious. It was delightful to see such thoughtful handmade touches that are rare these days. The French cuisine served with chopsticks was exquisite. The table seating had a stylish ambiance, while the Japanese-style room we used was spacious and thoughtfully prepared with futons laid out for our 1-year-old child to nap anytime comfortably. The attention to detail was truly appreciated. Special care seemed to be given to ingredients like rice and eggs, both of which had exceptional flavors that stood out. The Onsen temperature was perfect, and even the private bath in our room was beautifully designed and pristine. Shuttle Service made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. My mother especially cherished spending relaxing time with her great-grandchild; it brought her immense joy. All staff members were incredibly warm-hearted; their genuine hospitality truly shone through. Thank you for taking care of us so well! We look forward to visiting again as a family!

    Only 10 rooms available, yet offering excellent facilities, a beautiful Onsen, and stunning surroundings. Enjoy breathtaking snowy views from both the room and the restaurant.     We stayed here during a family road trip from the Kanto region. The Plan included both dinner and breakfast, which turned out to be an excellent choice! They even prepared separate meals for the children, and every dish was beautifully crafted with great care and absolutely delicious. Since we were unfamiliar with the area, we had some questions, but the staff provided very detailed and kind assistance, leaving our family completely satisfied. This is a private resort that truly helps you unwind from daily life or long journeys. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

    Room & Amenities: The Japanese-style room with a bed was comfortable. Amenities were sufficient, but having a bathrobe would be appreciated. Service: A phone call before the meal was helpful, and we were guided to our table without needing to mention the room number. Onsen & Bath: The Onsen was spacious enough for the number of guests. However, it was disappointing that there were no bath baskets. The bathroom stool in the room was too low and difficult to use. Facility: The distance between the entrance and parking lot is considerable; while guidance and shuttle service are available, valet parking would be a welcome addition. Dining: Beautiful dishes with elegant presentation and delicious flavors made for an enjoyable experience. I’d love to visit again in another season.

    Stylish café corner

    It was my first visit, and it was a relaxing accommodation. The welcome drink was delicious, but the newly opened café had great drink selections and very tasty cookies. It was nice to be able to take them to the room and enjoy them at leisure. The room was very spacious, which surprised me. The meals were creative, but I thought it would be nice if there were detailed explanations on the menu (since various flowers and vegetables are used, having them listed on the menu would make it more enjoyable). The in-house wear was very stylish and comfortable to wear. The large public bath had an outdoor section that felt slightly lukewarm due to the snow, while the indoor bath was quite spacious. I also appreciated being provided with shuttle service to the nearest station. Thank you for everything!

    The accommodation provided excellent service, making my stay very pleasant. The coffee, rooibos tea, and baked goods at the café corner were delicious. I had a multiple night stay, and the meal on the second night was completely different from the first, which I enjoyed. I requested only a towel exchange at the entrance as I preferred no one to enter my room; however, I noticed that the trash bin was emptied, indicating someone had entered. The room was clean, but it was inconvenient to have to step down into the entryway every time I needed to wash my hands or use the restroom.
