    For guests seeking a quiet stay

    [Pros] - The service itself is good, though the staff seem a bit hesitant with international guests. - If you like Hakone’s hot spring water quality, this Accommodation is definitely a great choice. [Cons] - The open-air bath tub in the guest room is small. - Even when Chinese guests were speaking loudly on a video call in the dining area, the staff did not intervene. - A white foreign guest was filming something like YouTube in the elevator and was in the way, but again the staff did not intervene.

    Highly satisfied

    We were completely satisfied with everything from start to finish. The meals were delicious, and we really appreciated being able to choose between Japanese or Western breakfast. The bath was spacious enough for two people. The welcome drinks and sweets were better than at any other Accommodation we have stayed at. As others have mentioned, it would be nice if the Room lighting could be a bit brighter. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again!

    Excellent service.

    As always, the service was excellent. Everything I requested during my previous visit was properly carried over, and I was able to stay with absolutely no stress. I visited to celebrate a birthday, and we received a surprise service that made my partner truly happy. Thank you very much. The meals and the bath were as wonderful as ever.     It was an Accommodation that made me want to stay again.

    Wanting a relaxing getaway nearby, I was looking in Hakone for a Ryokan with a private open-air bath in the Room fed by free-flowing hot spring water, and decided to stay at this Ryokan that I’d had my eye on for some time. It was exactly as I’d seen on YouTube, and I appreciated the staff’s courteous service. Some Reviews mentioned that most of the staff were foreigners, but from what I saw, everyone was Japanese. The complimentary drinks were more than sufficient, and rather than focusing on sheer volume like some Onsen Ryokan meals do, the food was high quality and truly delicious. Check-out is at 11:00 a.m., which made it perfect for an unhurried stay. If I had to mention any negatives, it would be the noise from cars on National Route 1, having to walk around the washbasin area to get from the bed to the toilet right in front of it, and that the sink felt somewhat lacking both functionally and design-wise. I can’t think of much more to ask for; although it was a bit pricey, I felt very satisfied overall. It’s an Accommodation I’d happily stay at again if given the chance.

    It was a wonderful birthday celebration.

    I’d been wanting to stay here for a long time, and we stayed at Kinnotake Tonosawa to celebrate my birthday trip. We arrived early, but the staff kindly served welcome drinks and sweets in the lounge ahead of time, and chatted with us with warm smiles while taking care of everything until check-in—my expectations were high from the very start. When we were shown to our Room, I was truly moved to see an anniversary cake made from towels on the bed, and I couldn’t help but look forward to what would come next. Dinner was a course at the teppanyaki restaurant “Zen.” The Ishigaki Island beef was outstanding, and paired with conversation with the chef it was even more enjoyable—and delicious. Thank you as well for raising a toast with us for our anniversary, and for the anniversary plate. It became an unforgettable celebration. This is an Accommodation that never disappoints. Even though many of the staff are young, their conversation and service are polite and attentive, and they offer hospitality in abundance. After checkout we couldn’t make a taxi Reservation, so since the weather was nice we decided to walk across the suspension bridge to the bus stop. While my husband and I were taking photos on the bridge, a kind staff member actually came after us just to say, “I can take one for you,” and took our photo—thank you so much. Right up until the very end they never let their attention slip, bowing again and again. Thank you for your thoughtfulness all the way through. We will visit again.

    The hospitality and meals were very satisfying.

    We stayed as a family of three. When traveling to or from the accommodation by car towards Yumoto, it is advisable to anticipate heavy traffic from right in front of the accommodation to Yumoto Station and plan accordingly. Overall, we were reasonably satisfied with our stay. The customer service and meals were particularly commendable. As I am sensitive to caffeine, I appreciated that most of the provided beverages were non-caffeinated—a thoughtful touch not often seen even when requested at other accommodations. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, featured seasonal and local ingredients in abundance and were exceptionally delicious with satisfying portions. Breakfast included unlimited refills of rice (cooked Koshihikari), bread, miso soup, and minestrone soup; the rice was especially flavorful, as was the bread. We also enjoyed an additional order of grilled spiny lobster which was delightful; however, it wasn’t included in our bill during checkout—only the Hot Spring Tax was charged initially—but this was corrected upon pointing it out. On a less positive note, there were several personal drawbacks regarding the room and bath facilities. One unfortunate incident involved a family member sustaining an injury after slipping while trying to use the private open-air bath attached to our room. The distance between the shower booth and open-air bath felt unnecessarily far apart—while some may appreciate this for its spaciousness or sense of openness—it seemed impractical given that the cypress tub itself wasn’t particularly large. The biggest dissatisfaction came from poor water pressure in the shower—it lacked force making usage inconvenient—and low-quality wash towels that didn’t lather well enough for use comfortably during colder seasons could be unpleasant too. Additionally disappointing for this class level: only one sink at vanity area paired alongside just one mirror without any full-length option available felt inadequate; insufficient hangers/towels required extra requests adding minor inconvenience; limited power outlets/trash bins (only one trash bin provided) posed challenges especially having just dim lighting throughout rooms where brighter options would’ve been welcome alternative choices!

    Visited again on the...

    Visited again on the first day of March, following my visit on the first day of February. The young trainee staff member, who had just started four weeks ago and was still learning, has grown remarkably and felt very reliable. The taste of the dishes was more consistent than last time, and I enjoyed them thoroughly. I accidentally burned myself in the Room just before check-out, but when I contacted the staff, they promptly brought medicine and ice to assist me. I will visit again.

    I would like to visit again.

    The atmosphere in the Room, dining area, and lounge was pleasant, and above all, the staff's hospitality was excellent. I definitely plan to visit again. If I had to mention anything, it would be the following two points: 1. The bathroom in the Room felt a bit cramped. Since it's a rare opportunity for a hot spring bath, I'd like to soak for a long time; it would be nice if there were something to sit on in the bathtub. 2. Dinner was impeccable and delicious; however, I felt that many items on the Japanese breakfast menu were quite salty. Thank you very much for taking care of us in various ways. We look forward to visiting again next time as well.

    Stays for wedding anniversary

    From the moment we crossed the suspension bridge and arrived at the Stays, we were enveloped in heartfelt hospitality, making our 25th wedding anniversary an unforgettable journey. In particular, the teppanyaki dinner at "Zen," which we added as an option, was a truly moving experience, allowing us to enjoy the chef's exquisite skills right before our eyes while savoring the superb cuisine. We definitely want to visit again.

    As per the Review, the natural Onsen flowing open-air bath and the lounge's drink service were excellent. The cuisine was quite delicious for a Ryokan, but it was a bit disappointing that some dishes confused being lightly seasoned with lacking a definitive flavor. However, overall, it was a very comfortable Ryokan, and I believe it ranks among the top five in Hakone. I highly recommend staying here at least once. To the trainees who interacted with guests with a sense of value, please keep up the great work.

    I had a wonderful time.

    I treated myself to a stay for one person, and from the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell, the staff's attentive service and hospitality truly impressed me. The food was absolutely delicious, and the Onsen in the Room with natural hot spring water was exceptional. The day after my stay happened to be my birthday, and even though I hadn't mentioned it, they surprised me by serving the dessert at dinner as a birthday plate. It made me so happy—thank you so much. It was a truly blissful time, perfect for a special treat. I would love to visit again.

    A reward for yourself

    It was my second stay, and I was able to refresh myself with a Room featuring an open-air bath and delicious meals. The staff were friendly yet discreet, making my stay very comfortable. Upon arrival, I was surprised when the greeter mentioned, "I assisted you last time," and I was further amazed during check-in when they already knew about the ingredients I dislike. This delightful surprise marked the beginning of a rewarding stay, and I had such a wonderful time that I look forward to coming back again.

The staff maintained a perfect balance of attentiveness and distance, and I had a wonderful time enjoying the delicious premium beef teppanyaki dinner I chose this time, along with the excellent breakfast.     Relax at the end of the year in an adult space.

    I had wanted to visit because of the spacious Room with an open-air bath. Although I arrived nearly an hour early, they hurriedly prepared the Room for me. The interior of the Hotel, as well as the Room, was chic and simple, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The bath was spacious, allowing for multiple uses. The dinner course was not overly elaborate, and the seasoning was not too strong, making it delicious. The breakfast also had perfectly seasoned dried fish, allowing me to enjoy Japanese cuisine. If I may say, it would have been nice if the welcome dessert matched the quality of the other dishes a bit more. All the staff were very kind and helpful. Thank you very much.

    We used it for an anniversary!

    This was my first time using this service. The deciding factor in choosing the Stays was the Review ratings. Most of the guests were highly satisfied, and the Review content was written carefully, which left a good impression. I planned to drive to the Stays this time, but due to concerns about the weather, I called at 9 a.m. to inquire about snow and ice. They answered promptly and assisted me, so I decided to depart by car. Upon arrival at the Stays, the staff welcomed us and guided us to the lobby. There, we were offered drinks and tea snacks. We met the staff member who would be attending to us during our stay and headed to the Room. Thanks to that staff member, this stay became a wonderful memory. They worked with us to make our stay enjoyable, providing Facility tours, towel art, a whole cake, and more. The Room layout, amenities, open-air bath temperature, dinner, breakfast, and bar were all excellent. I believe there are many good aspects of the Stays' Rooms and Facilities, but the customer service was the most impressive I've ever experienced. It was the first time I felt such a difference in perception due to the quality of service and hospitality. I would like to use this service again.

    Kanreki Celebration Trip

    The room was spacious and comfortable as expected. I had informed them at the time of reservation that it was a trip to celebrate my 60th birthday, and they prepared surprises for us upon arrival and during dinner. On the day, I wasn't feeling well due to a cold, and when I requested to change dinner from teppanyaki to kaiseki cuisine upon arrival, they kindly accommodated my request. The kaiseki cuisine was very delicious, and the seating had a sense of privacy, which was nice. The open-air bath was also clean, and the water temperature was perfect.

    Stays of Beauty and Gourmet

    It was a lovely room. I relaxed in the open-air bath in the room and enjoyed a teppanyaki course for dinner. I had premium beef from Ishigaki Island's Kita-Uchi Farm, which is available at only a few places in Japan. The fat of the sirloin, which has a low melting point, was very smooth and not greasy at all. I would love to eat it again when staying here. The staff were all smiling, and their courteous service was pleasant. Thank you very much.

    The meals were excellent!

    I have stayed at various Stays in Hakone before, but this was "the most delicious Stays." The dinner had just switched to a new menu that day, and I was told by the staff that the chef was looking forward to comments, so I was prepared, but it was simply wonderfully delicious. A number of beautifully crafted dishes that make full use of good ingredients from all over the whole country. There was nothing like pre-made dishes; freshly made dishes were served one after another, and in the end, I could only say "delicious!" and felt sorry for not being able to give a more thoughtful comment. This was the same for the breakfast the next day. Even a single grilled horse mackerel was beautifully prepared and easy to eat, which was impressive. The only disappointment was that when I looked at the drink menu to pair with the dinner, I was surprised at how expensive the glass wine was. Of course, I think they only have good alcohol to match the class of the Property, but it was quite expensive compared to restaurants and Hotels in the city, so it would be appreciated if they could offer glass wine at a more affordable price range. I didn't drink the free wine in the room's refrigerator, but maybe it's a balance with that. In the end, I ordered a reasonably priced wine from the wine list by the bottle, and it was very delicious, allowing me to enjoy the meal even more. The Room was simple, and the granite open-air bath had good water quality and temperature, allowing me to spend an exquisite moment while gazing at the bamboo grove in front of me. From check-in to the end, all the staff had wonderful smiles and provided very pleasant service, for which I am grateful. I will visit again!

    [Shizuku] We stayed in a room with an open-air granite bath for three people. 1. Some properties may refer to semi-open-air baths as open-air baths, but here you can experience a bath that is close to a true open-air bath. The view from the first floor is also excellent. 2. We often visit ryokans in a similar price range, but the variety of fish and the seasoning were outstanding with no repetition. They offer a relatively large selection of local sake and local products. 3. In my opinion, Kagoshima Gajoen < Senjuan < Kintake < Kagoshima Ishiharaso

    The World Across the Bridge

    I always wondered what kind of paradise lay beyond the bridge, as I gazed at it. Upon arrival, I was immediately soothed by the pleasant fragrance. However, the initial welcome this time was disappointing. When we crossed the bridge and came up the slope with our suitcases, unlike last time when someone ran from the gate to help us with our luggage, this time two young men and women stood there, pretending not to notice us even as we approached. I was surprised as this was the first time such a thing happened. Naturally, there was no greeting, and as we passed by and headed for the door, they chased after us asking, "Excuse me, may I have your name?" I wondered if they hadn't seen us until then. After that, we had no issues. The young man who supported us during meals was always smiling, attentive, and truly soothing. The free drinks were made individually, which was a lovely service. The sauna was new and nice, but it would be even better with a clock. Also, I wasn't sure where to place small items like glasses, and when I tried to put them on a pool chair, they slid off due to the modern design lacking a flat surface, so I ended up placing them on the floor. The meals were delicious. The teppanyaki seemed popular, and I would love to try it again. The open-air bath in the Room was also excellent. A woman saw us off at the gate. Although I said it was fine because she was busy, she sent us off with a smile. Overall, it was wonderful and soothing. Thank you very much.

    I was very satisfied.

    We stayed for one night as a couple. The spacious bath was at a comfortable temperature and felt very pleasant, allowing us to relax both physically and mentally by taking multiple baths. We chose teppanyaki for dinner, and not only was the meal delicious, but chatting with the chef was also enjoyable, making for a great time. Thank you for the meal. The female staff member who assisted us (I remember her name but will refrain from mentioning it) left a good impression with her smile, and she took care of us from check-in to seeing us off, allowing us to have a wonderful time. This is a Hotel we would like to visit again. We will come again.

    I used it for the first time. It was a space and hospitality that made me feel extraordinary. In the lounge, there were many types of free drinks, and I had fun choosing. The Room was quiet, uncluttered, and felt open. The closet was completely open, which was innovative as it was part of the design. The sashimi was very delicious, and the portion was just right. The serving was very polite, which made the food taste even better. It was a pity that the large public bath was closed. Everything was relaxing, and I would like to use it again.

    We hope to become a prestigious Ryokan.

    First, despite being close to Hakone Yumoto, it boasts an outstanding location as a hidden retreat surrounded by bamboo groves. Enjoy the view of the autumn foliage while soaking in the open-air cypress bath. The contrast between the meticulously designed interior and the simple rooms is also remarkable. Moreover, the dinner and breakfast are very delicious. There are no complaints, but to become a prestigious Ryokan, I hope the youthful and energetic staff can be further trained in a positive way.

    A New Beginning

    I used this place last July, and this is my second time. Last time, I visited in the midst of an illness, but this time, I came to celebrate my recovery one year after treatment. I am very satisfied with the consistently excellent hospitality. However, I rated the meals a 4 because two dishes were a bit too salty, and the meat was too fatty, which overshadowed the natural flavor of the meat (it would be nice to have a lean option). Even so, I was amazed by the large number of Western guests.

    Considering the pric...

    Considering the price, the room felt like a studio apartment, with an unusual layout where the washroom was in the living room. Perhaps because there were many foreign guests, the room was very dark, making it difficult to apply makeup. The only bath available was the open-air bath attached to the room; the main bath was under renovation and could not be used. If this was known, it should have been communicated in advance. If it was under repair, I would have canceled the Reservation. There were also few towels provided, and there was nowhere to hang used towels. I was very disappointed as I had high expectations.

    I was healed by the kindness.

    The staff were all kind, and I felt healed for the first time in a while. The room and facilities were clean and tidy. The fragrance was also soothing. This time, I mistakenly got the reservation date wrong and ended up visiting a day early, unable to stay anywhere, and had to return home. This was the first time we made such a mistake. I called the day before our visit to confirm the parking reservation and other details by giving my name, and it would have been even more helpful if I had been informed of the mistake at that time. However, the kindness of the staff surpassed that, and my sad mood from the previous day was healed. Thank you very much. I will visit again.

    First Trip to Hakone

    It was my first time in Hakone, and I got a little lost on the way, but I was able to relax and enjoy a leisurely 2-night stay. The Room's indoor bath made me feel like I was in the forest, which was nice, and the food was really delicious, with a light flavor that suited us Kansai people. We also enjoyed the all-inclusive drinks. I was very pleased that the staff from the previous day passed on information to the next person in charge, and we received a lot of attention. I was able to visit the long-awaited Lake Ashi, and it was a very satisfying trip. I would like to stay again next time.
