  An accommodation where you can relax and enjoy cuisine, wine, and an Onsen with your beloved dog.

  In Izu Kogen, this Accommodation was perfect for a trip where you want to relax and enjoy great food together with your dog. The two things we prioritized when choosing an Accommodation were the cuisine and a private open-air Onsen bath in the Room. We didn’t want to compromise on either, so we stayed at Belle Equipe. Belle Equipe is an auberge run by a wine-loving owner who enjoys around 2,000 bottles of wine each year. The dishes are created with wine pairings in mind. We chose a Plan with in-Room dining, so we could enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace without worrying about others. And the bread was truly amazing—so impressive. They also prepared handmade meals for our dog, and it was finished in no time. Our Room had an open-air Onsen bath, a dedicated bath just for dogs, and above all, we were very satisfied with the dog run—it was even larger and cleaner than we expected. The staff’s hospitality also felt just right: attentive without being intrusive. Delicious food and wine, Onsen, and time with your dog. This is an Accommodation I’d recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a slightly luxurious getaway with their dog in Izu Kogen.

  Thank you very much for choosing our Accommodation from among many options. We’re relieved to hear that you enjoyed your stay. I’m sorry my explanation wasn’t clear enough. It’s not that I “enjoy” wine tastings—I taste about 2,000 bottles a year as part of my work. At one of Japan’s largest tasting events, around 530 bottles are poured in a single session. In addition, one importer provides around 230 bottles each time in spring and autumn—nearly 1,000 bottles just from those two events. Even smaller tastings offer 50 to 100 bottles. Since these events take place almost every month, the total comes to roughly 2,000 bottles per year. At a 500-bottle tasting we go in order—sparkling, white, then red—but by the end my lips and tongue turn purple. So rather than “enjoying” it, the best way to describe it is that I’m learning and studying. I create our dishes with the idea of helping guests enjoy wine even more. Thank you for opening such a wonderful bottle of wine for us. I was truly happy to hear it suited your taste.   Auberge Where Pets Are Welcome

  This was our second stay. Since our third son (our beloved dog) joined our family five years ago, we only choose Accommodations where we can stay together, so we’ve stayed at many pet-friendly places around the Kanto area. With new Accommodations opening all the time, there are only a few we’ve ever revisited—but this one is exceptionally satisfying, so we returned during the Obon holiday period. With pet-friendly Accommodations, there’s often something you have to compromise on, but this place is almost perfect. The balcony of our guest Room had an open-air Onsen bath, a sauna, a cold plunge bath, and a relaxation area with a shower—plus an open-air bath for dogs. Inside the Room, there was a theater room with two massage chairs and a dining room where you can enjoy meals in your Room. The French cuisine served there is truly delicious. Recently, more and more Accommodations have excellent Facilities, but I don’t know any other place where you can enjoy food of this quality in your Room with your dog. Once again, everything was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for the best Accommodation to stay with your dog, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

We opened our Accommodation in 2008 with the hope that not only your beloved dog, but also you as the owner, would be fully satisfied. We are delighted to hear you felt that way. In particular, we put special care into the sauna in the Room you stayed in. Our signature “ultimate sauna reset” is an original experience developed exclusively by our Accommodation. We never cut corners with our cuisine—we prepare everything in-house. These days, most Hotels purchase ready-made sauces, but at our Accommodation we take over 30 hours to prepare sauces not only for owners, but also for dogs. That is why we can serve dog-friendly sauces without using ingredients such as onions. We cannot thank you enough for recommending us as well. Thank you sincerely. Please do come again.   A Couple’s Trip with Your Dog

  We stayed in the Room called “Camellia,” which comes with an open-air bath and a sauna. With plenty of lighting, it was very bright, and everything was spotless, making our stay truly comfortable. There were two massage chairs in the theater room, so the two of us could sit back and enjoy movies and TV while getting a massage. The open-air bath could also be turned into a jacuzzi at the push of a button, and it even had a TV, which we really enjoyed. There was also an open-air bath for dogs. Since it was still a bit chilly outside, we were glad there was an indoor shower booth—washing outside would have left us feeling cold. The dog run was spacious, beautifully maintained, and designed with safety in mind. Our dog was thrilled and ran around happily. Surrounded by trees and filled with birdsong, the garden was also very relaxing for us as a couple. Dinner was a full-course French meal. Thanks to the high-quality ingredients and the chef’s skill, everything—from start to dessert—was delicious without feeling heavy. Even our picky dog with a small appetite ate almost all of the tasty dog-friendly meal. Above all, we were deeply touched by the kindness and thoughtfulness of the Hotel staff. Thank you very much.

The Room you stayed in is the only one with a private sauna and cold plunge bath on the terrace, designed for the ultimate relaxation experience. It is currently our most popular Room. It is also the only Room with two massage chairs. The private open-air Onsen for the guest room is also spacious enough for four adults to soak comfortably. We are delighted that you enjoyed it. In our garden, there are seven fir trees over 300 years old, filling the air with refreshing negative ions. Some guests even tell us it was the first time they had ever seen their dog run freely. For our cuisine, we make it a priority to use plenty of fruits and vegetables. Based on repeat guests saying, “Whenever I come here, I somehow feel healthier,” we have refined this concept even further. We’re glad you enjoyed it. Please do come again.   Auberge

  This was my third visit yesterday. The Onsen is wonderfully gentle on the skin and absolutely satisfying, but the meals and wine at the restaurant were, as always, outstanding. There were many dishes you can’t experience elsewhere—like lightly searing fish stuffed with olives yourself right at the table. With freshly baked bread, it was hard not to keep enjoying more wine. An Accommodation where you can savor such delicious cuisine with your dog and also fully enjoy the Onsen—I’d love to stay again. Thank you for your continued hospitality.

  An Accommodation with outstanding hospitality!

  This was an Accommodation I’d been wanting to visit for a long time after a friend recommended it. Although we arrived late, we were welcomed with such warm, thoughtful hospitality. The Room’s open-air bath was amazing! Soaking at night while gazing at the starry sky is truly special. Dinner was delicious, with gentle, well-balanced seasoning. Above all, the freshly baked bread was outstanding. The service was wonderful as well, and their kind attentiveness was so soothing. An Accommodation I’d definitely love to visit again.

  If you have a car,

  I initially thought I couldn't stay without my dog, but upon inquiry, I found out it was possible and decided to visit for the first time. The quality of the hot spring in the private open-air bath in the room was excellent. Since I visited in November, there were trees next to the open-air bath, and fallen leaves kept getting into it. The staff kindly removed all the leaves after check-in and after meals, which I greatly appreciated. However, when I woke up the next day, the bath was again full of leaves. Feeling hesitant to ask for help again, I spent 20 minutes removing them myself. I believe that during a different season, this would be a very comfortable open-air bath experience. As an IKYU Diamond Member, I've stayed at many accommodations before; however, dinner here was undoubtedly the best among all accommodations or hotels I've visited so far. The taste, presentation, and ingredients were unique to Belle Équipe and left me deeply impressed. That said, breakfast fell short as the galette was overly salty despite how deliciously fresh the vegetables were—I couldn’t finish it unfortunately. Since this was my first visit here though perhaps it might have been just an exception this time around hence didn’t mention directly back then. Dinner alone deserves more than top marks (5 stars max on IKYU), honestly deserving 10 points if possible! Lastly regarding transportation: As someone without access by car—shuttle service availability would've made things perfect! On departure day while arranging taxis instead—it took over half-hour waiting due unavailability nearby drivers which slightly marred otherwise seamless experience overall (-1 point deducted). Still looking forward revisiting someday reliving unforgettable dining moments shared earlier! Thank You Belle Équipe Team!!

Even if you do not have a dog, it is fine as long as there are no allergies. Since we accept reservations from only three groups at a time, the chances of encountering other guests are minimal. We sincerely apologize for the fallen leaves issue. Although we have already trimmed many trees, we will consult with professionals again. However, overdoing it might harm the centuries-old fir trees, so finding the right balance is quite challenging. Your compliments on our meals mean so much to us—thank you! Being recognized by someone who has visited numerous accommodations motivates us even more to continue improving. Regarding the galette issue, we deeply apologize for this oversight. It was likely due to an error in measuring ingredients during preparation. We regret not noticing this earlier and sincerely apologize. Let me also explain about shuttle service: Due to challenges in securing staff and considering costs and time involved, we decided it would be better to focus those resources on enhancing our cuisine instead of providing shuttle services. We dedicate ourselves fully to ensuring your time after check-in is exceptional. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused and kindly ask for your understanding. There are three taxi companies nearby; however, due to impacts from COVID-19, calls often go unanswered or get declined when answered—a situation beyond our control. Upon inquiry with these companies, they mentioned that senior drivers who had been working hard retired during this period and could not return afterward—this has led to ongoing issues in transportation within this region including buses. While explaining over phone prior travel arrangements were suggested using taxi apps which seem less problematic currently compared direct calls taxis being separate entities outside management scope hence unable intervene directly here either recent mayoral election highlighted same concern locally too requesting assistance via app usage calling taxis greatly appreciated! Having brought such joy previously raises expectations next stay significantly yet remain committed humbly striving further improvement thank-you staying us!

  I had a relaxing stay.

  Both the room and meals were absolutely satisfying. It was a very quiet accommodation where we could relax and unwind. The meals were as delicious as mentioned in the reviews, the room was spacious, and the sauna was excellent. We had a luxurious holiday. Our two beloved dogs, an elderly one and an energetic one, were also well taken care of. Even though they usually dislike walks, they enjoyed the dog run and relaxed in the room. It was truly a perfect accommodation for our pets as well!

Firstly, regarding the clock being inaccurate, we believe this refers to the time display function on the speaker. Since it does not automatically sync with satellite time, any disconnection from power may cause a discrepancy in time. The speakers were installed in each room as they allow guests to link their phones for music or charge their devices simply by placing them on top, which we thought would be highly functional and satisfying. However, based on your feedback about its unclear functionality, we have decided to remove these devices from our rooms. Secondly, concerning the TV installed in the open-air bath area, upon inspection we confirmed that it powers on without any issues. This TV can be activated simply by pressing a button located at the bottom of its screen.   Excellent!!

  We stayed with our family of three and our dog. We were able to relax completely as it was very dog-friendly. The private open-air bath and sauna in the Room helped us refresh, and the meals were absolutely delicious, leaving us fully satisfied. Our dog also finished their meal completely. The soufflé at breakfast was excellent!

  The Ultimate Accommodation for Guests with Dogs

  I stayed at Auberge Belle Équipe. At first, I thought the accommodation fee was a bit high, but after staying there, I found the quality to be worth every penny. This hotel is limited to three groups per day, offering meticulous and attentive service. As mentioned in many reviews, the food was absolutely delicious and incredibly satisfying. Among dog-friendly accommodations, it felt like one of the best options available. The meals started with caviar and included fresh vegetable bagna cauda, lobster salad, oven-baked fish wrapped in salt crust, filet topped with foie gras, and dessert—all of which were truly delightful. The amazing food tempted us to open two bottles of wine (laughs). With an on-site winery offering a rich wine list, this place is especially recommended for wine enthusiasts. For breakfast, you can choose from options like galettes or French toast; both are generously portioned. I chose French toast and enjoyed the caramelizing performance using a burner—it was quite entertaining! The open-air bath features onsen water sourced from nearby Mount Omuro and includes both private baths and guest room baths for use. There’s also a grassy dog run where my beloved pet happily ran around with joy. It’s such a wonderful place that I’d love to visit again!

  A wonderful accommodation where you can stay with your dog.

  You can stay with your dog, and the room (with Onsen, massage chair, sauna, etc.) and meals were excellent. This is our second visit this year, and we stayed for two nights this time. It’s a very lovely accommodation where the owner and staff are kind, making it a relaxing place. The dogs also enjoyed the dog run. We will definitely come back again!

  Traveling with My Wife and Two Pets

  This is our second stay. Last time, we visited as a family of four with two pets, shortly after my wife’s foot surgery for her first Onsen experience. This time, it was just the two of us and our two pets. We love this accommodation for its delicious meals, wine, and relaxing atmosphere.   An accommodation with excellent hospitality and dog-friendly services.

  We experienced exceptional hospitality during our first visit to Izu Kogen. In the cozy lounge, we had adorable name cards made for our dog. Complimentary drinks in the Room, ice cream, milk, and mini beer after a bath made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The outdoor and indoor dog runs were a hit with our dog, who seemed to have a great time. The staff were all kind and attentive; their explanations of the dishes were clear, and the food was delicious, leaving us very satisfied. With private baths, saunas, and even a stylish open-air bath in the Room, we felt completely relaxed both physically and mentally. After check-out, we received commemorative photos and souvenirs as part of their service—making this trip truly memorable. We hope to visit again if given the opportunity!

  We visited to celebrate a birthday. The wonderful Room, exquisite wine, and the chef personally preparing dishes in the Room truly healed both our hearts and bodies. I don't think we mentioned it was a birthday beforehand, but you picked up on it through conversation and created many memorable moments for us, which deeply moved us.   It was the best auberge.

  This was our first time staying here with my mother and sister, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The accommodation had a great reputation, and everything was even better than we anticipated. From check-in to check-out, the service was excellent, and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. We learned that even the appetizers are prepared over the course of a week, and for repeat guests, they ensure that the menu never overlaps with previous stays—such thoughtful hospitality! And above all else, the room was outstanding. We stayed in the "Camellia" room, which was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly equipped. We definitely want to stay here again!

  Revisit with your beloved dog. A gourmet auberge you'll want to return to again and again.

  This was our second stay. Although we didn’t have a specific purpose, the previous visit left a strong impression with its "absolutely amazing meals," so we decided to return with our two beloved dogs. This time, we stayed in the "Cerisier" room. It offered a cozy and serene space—not too large—with an Onsen jacuzzi on the terrace that also provided direct access to the garden. The terrace even had an Onsen for dogs, allowing us and our pets to enjoy peaceful and luxurious moments together. The meals were once again truly exceptional; every dish was crafted to perfection, leaving us genuinely impressed by how delicious everything was. It was almost regretful that we couldn’t finish it all due to small appetites. Our dogs seemed to thoroughly enjoy their specially prepared meals as well, finishing them in no time. The staff’s attentiveness and warm hospitality were just as wonderful as before. Their kind demeanor toward our dogs made it clear how much they genuinely love animals. While there are many accommodations in Izu Kogen where you can stay with pets, this is the one we always aim for when visiting. Even though it takes about five hours by car from Tokyo, it’s absolutely worth the trip. Above all else, there’s no other accommodation where you can stay with your pets while enjoying such high-quality cuisine. The rooms and staff are undoubtedly fantastic too, but what makes Belle Époque stand out most is its “exceptional cuisine.” We will definitely return again with our beloved dogs!

  Your Dog's Birthday

  A charming Western-style villa located in a quiet resort area. As an auberge, the meals are exceptionally delicious, with thoughtful touches like offering rice alongside bread during the meat course (the slightly firm texture pairs perfectly with the dishes). The service strikes a perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The treatment of dogs is also outstanding; for example, during meals, they provide a special chair for your dog right next to you—a thoughtful setup that truly impresses. The garden's well-maintained grassy dog run is fantastic, and with only three rooms available, our dog had plenty of space to roam freely and enjoy exclusive use. We chose the Anniversary Plan and received flowers, cake, toys, and treats for our beloved pet—making it an unforgettable experience. We felt sorry we couldn’t finish the lovely cake! Upon departure, they even provided iced tea and Danish pastries for us to enjoy in the car—a gesture so considerate it warmed our hearts even more. This auberge offers such memorable stays that you'll want to return again!

  Exceptional Hospitality

  We stayed at the Japanese Suite Camellia with our beloved dog to celebrate my husband's birthday. From creating a name card for our dog upon arrival to the welcome fruits in the room, and the carefully prepared meals for dinner and breakfast, everything was delightful and delicious. Our dog especially enjoyed the venison dish we had requested in advance, licking the bowl clean at the end. The well-maintained lawn of the dog run was beautiful, and watching our dog run joyfully from one end to another during day, night, and morning was truly heartwarming. Our sauna-loving daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time as well, going in and out multiple times until just before check-out. She particularly loved experiencing the owner's unique invention of water pouring over her head—a sensation she had never felt before. Having seen an online commercial about this hotel long ago, we were finally able to visit. Despite causing some unexpected trouble during our stay, we deeply appreciate how kindly all staff members handled everything with grace. The thoughtful gesture we received after returning home brought us even more joy. We are eager to create another opportunity to stay at Belle Équipe again soon for its outstanding hospitality!

  We had a wonderful time.

  I visited for the first time in 10 years. I had stayed here several times with my previous dog and felt the same back then, but once again, I was able to relax comfortably with my dog this time. The staff's service was impeccable, and both the facilities and the garden (dog run) were well-maintained and clean. However, the highlight is definitely the food! It was already delicious before, but it has been upgraded even further. I will absolutely visit again!

  An Authentic Auberge

  We returned again, unable to forget the delicious meals and the staff's exceptional hospitality from last year. This is our second stay as a couple with our dog. We love the calm and quiet atmosphere of this accommodation with only three rooms. Thank you for your thoughtful services, such as shuttle service by cart, creating printed stickers of our dog, and family commemorative photo services. The stylish and clean guest room had an onsen jacuzzi and a massage chair, allowing us to relax both physically and mentally. The private onsen bath in the facility was also wonderful. The spacious dog run was well-maintained with lush grass, and our dog enjoyed running around happily. As for the highly anticipated meals, they were visually stunning and absolutely delicious—truly satisfying! Thank you for the feast!   I was so happy with the surprise birthday celebration for my dog. I had stayed here before, and just like last time, both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. Every dish was something I’d love to have again, but I couldn’t resist ordering the handmade bread separately once more. The elegant dog run allowed my dog to relax and enjoy freely. We borrowed a nostalgic DVD and had a great time watching it in the bedroom. I would love to stay here again! The cold drink we received on our way home was also much appreciated.

  Excellent

  This was our first time staying at this accommodation. About the staff: From the moment we arrived to the time we left, the staff provided warm and accommodating service. They were incredibly flexible in handling any issues, which was greatly appreciated. Everyone had such wonderful personalities, and even my shy husband commented on how great they were. About the room and facility: We stayed in Sapan for a multiple night stay with two people and two dogs. The space was more than sufficient, and the outdoor jacuzzi bath was amazing. The room was very clean with no trace of dog odors. Each room having its own TV was a big plus for us. My husband even fell asleep while using the massage chair! The garden, which doubles as a dog run, is truly fantastic—well-maintained lawns where our dogs happily ran around while we relaxed peacefully. With a maximum of three groups staying at once, there’s plenty of space to enjoy without feeling crowded. About meals: The welcome fruits were delightful! There were also snacks and drinks available freely—a testament to their high level of hospitality (though we didn’t use them much since we were so full from meals). Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious—better than what most accommodations can offer! It’s rare to find pet-friendly accommodations where both food quality and rooms are exceptional like this one. Overall: Before our stay, I wondered if it could really live up to its high ratings—but now I completely understand why it does! I honestly can’t think of any negatives about this place. Combined with how pet-welcoming Izu Kogen is as an area, this has become an accommodation that we’d love to visit again. It’s easy to see why they have so many repeat guests! If your schedule allows it, I highly recommend a multiple night stay here. Thank you so much for everything during our stay!

  Thank you very much for choosing our accommodation among many others. We are truly delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay. Our cleaning staff works very hard, ensuring there is no trace of pet odors and cleaning thoroughly even in the heat. They were thrilled to receive your compliments. The private bath on the first floor and the dog garden are designed so that overlaps with other guests are extremely rare, even during busy periods. As for the cuisine, as you kindly mentioned, we aim for a level that cannot be easily replicated elsewhere. Preparing each dish takes considerable time and effort; some dishes have undergone nearly a month of revisions before being finalized. We are glad our efforts resonated with you—it made all the hard work worthwhile. Many of our repeat guests return because they love our cuisine, with one guest having stayed over 40 times! Your kind words mean so much to us, and we sincerely thank you on behalf of all our staff members. Thank you again for staying with us for two nights!

  The Finest Auberge

  Visited for the first time last weekend. The building, interior, Room, Facility, and of course the meals were outstanding. Both dinner and breakfast were delicately and deliciously prepared by the owner-chef, offering top-notch service for guests with pets. The quality is on par with French restaurants in Tokyo. Moreover, the hospitality was impeccable; my wife and I agreed it was the best pet-friendly Hotel we’ve ever stayed at.

  a beautiful day

  Refresh with Onsen, French cuisine, and a dog run.

  We stayed with my husband and our dog (this is a repeat visit). This time, we revisited with the thought of "wanting to refresh with onsen and delicious food, and for our dog to enjoy," which turned out to be a great decision. Before dinner, we played at the dog run, refreshed in the room's onsen. For dinner, we chose Bordeaux wine from the property's wine cellar to match our meal. In a chic restaurant, we leisurely enjoyed a delicious French dinner using Izu vegetables, fish, and meat together with our dog. Our dog also thoroughly enjoyed the meal from the pet menu and the well-maintained dog run so much that he didn't want to leave (laughs). We have an electric vehicle, but Belle Equipe-san has EV charging facilities available which was very helpful as it filled up our car too. The staff were extremely kind and provided us with a pleasant experience. It is recommended for those who want to spend quality refreshing time with their dogs and humans alike.

  Thank you very much for choosing our Property among the many available. We also appreciate your prompt repeat visit. We are delighted that your dog seemed to enjoy the dog garden very much. We taste about 2,000 bottles of wine annually and carefully select them. We are glad you liked the one you chose from the three we brought. We prepared different dishes for returning guests like yourself compared to last time. It was worth taking the time to prepare as it suited your taste. The electric vehicle charging Facility was just installed at the end of January. We're glad you could use it. Please do visit us again. All our staff sincerely look forward to welcoming you back.   It was a good Property!

  Pet-friendly properties other than foreign-owned hotels often left much to be desired, but Belle Équipe was a highly satisfying property. I was especially delighted with the meals both in the morning and evening! I would love to use it again if I have the opportunity. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful time.
