    I had a wonderful time.

    The staff's hospitality was truly exceptional. The open-air bath in the guest room was amazing. The Room retained its charming traditional features while being beautifully renovated with a focus on Japanese aesthetics, making it a very lovely space. Being welcomed with the aroma of tea was also wonderful. The meals were incredibly delicious, and the pork shabu-shabu was outstanding.

    Thank you always.

    Thank you for taking care of my 93-year-old mother. Unfortunately, she couldn't finish her meal. We would greatly appreciate it if you could consider a senior-friendly menu. As someone nearing 70 myself, it was also challenging to finish everything. Next time, I would like to request a Room with a bathtub equipped with handrails.

    A peaceful Ryokan surrounded by a grove of trees

    This was my first visit. The Ryokan is located in a quiet mountain area surrounded by lush greenery, offering a peaceful atmosphere. The Onsen had silky smooth water that deeply soothed my recovering body. Although I opted for a lighter meal, it was absolutely satisfying! Enjoying wine for the first time in 8 months made me so happy. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

    A wonderful accommodation you'll want to visit again!

    I enjoyed the skin-smoothing qualities of the Onsen at Miyanosho Onsen and Shibi Onsen during my solo trip. The staff's hospitality, the cuisine, and the quality of the Onsen were all exceptional at this accommodation! The lounge service offering drinks like alcohol, 100% juice, and coffee was also fantastic! For solo travelers, I highly recommend this place. One reason is that you can enjoy your meals in a semi-private dining area without encountering others, allowing you to relax with a drink while dining. Additionally, the timing of meal service by the staff was impeccable and truly impressive. This is one of the top-class luxury accommodations not only in Kagoshima Prefecture but also in Kyushu! I will definitely visit again soon. Thank you very much!

    Great value for money.

    The staff were all very kind. Especially the woman who guided us to our Room was extremely friendly and shared many things with us, though I didn’t catch her name. Room 218 is very spacious, with a view of greenery from the window, making it a great value. The bath and stone sauna were incredibly relaxing. The meals were delicious, but they felt like they were missing something special despite being tasty. However, considering the price for this level of meals/services/Facilities, it’s an excellent value and highly recommended!

    The private family o...

    The private family open-air bath was incredibly relaxing. The open-air bath in the room was spacious and comfortable, with a convenient layout connecting to the indoor shower room. I wished I could have looked at the sky while lying down after bathing or at night. A reclining chair that goes flat or a hammock might make stargazing more comfortable without straining the neck. The night sky was so breathtakingly beautiful that I ended up lying by the window in the room to gaze at it. It's amazing how clear and stunning the stars are in Kagoshima. Every meal was delicious, especially dinner featuring Kagoshima beef cooked personally on a grill—it was absolutely delightful! The freshly harvested rice was exceptionally tasty as well; even our children kept asking for seconds, saying how delicious it was as they ate heartily. Thank you so much! Overall, this is an excellent accommodation with great value for money. The hospitality is impeccable too!

    Summer Retreat

    Tezuka Ryokan has always been on my list due to its high ratings, but since it’s close to my home and not much of a drive, I never had the chance to visit. However, I recently stayed there for a solo trip. While there is a sense of renovation and renewal, the lounge, staff hospitality, and the quality of the onsen water made for an almost perfect experience. As someone who enjoys both cigarettes and iced coffee, I was able to indulge in both while enjoying the silky smooth onsen water that made my skin feel rejuvenated like a teenager's again despite being near sixty. Considering the overall experience including how to spend time within the ryokan, staff service, and meals provided, Tezuka Ryokan offers great value as an accommodation. It’s an ideal place for onsen enthusiasts who want to relax in warm waters and cool down in the lounge repeatedly. While it may not be located near any major tourist attractions, those who appreciate good ambiance and love baths should definitely consider staying here at least once!

    A quiet and peaceful place.

    This was our first time using the accommodation to celebrate my husband's birthday. The meals were filled with delicious dishes we don't usually have, and the staff kindly took photos for us. There was also a birthday cake plate, which made my husband very happy. Thanks to IKYU's special benefits, we enjoyed the stone sauna and private Onsen. The public bath had silky smooth water that left our skin feeling soft. Even my husband, who usually only bathes once during a stay if he's not impressed, went to the public bath four times! It turned out to be a wonderful celebration. Thank you very much!

    With a limited number of rooms, you can enjoy a calm and relaxing stay.

    You can fully enjoy Onsen with private baths, large public baths, and stone saunas. The meals and staff service were excellent, making it an accommodation I would like to stay at again. However, there are no convenience stores or pharmacies nearby, so it's better to finish shopping before check-in. An all-inclusive option would allow for a more carefree stay. Additionally, the room lighting could not be adjusted for sleeping; it was either completely dark or too bright. It would be great if indirect lighting could be used for better adjustment.

    Stayed here during a motorcycle touring trip.

    A covered bicycle parking space was provided. The location is very quiet, and I was able to relax with delicious food, a well-atmosphered Room, and a clean bath. The staff's service was very polite, and they recommended a course on my way back, introducing me to Sakamoto's kurozu (black vinegar), where I enjoyed a delicious lunch. Thank you all very much!

    Accommodation You'll Want to Visit Again

    I made a last-minute reservation for this accommodation due to a sudden change in plans, and it turned out to be such a wonderful place that I would love to visit again. The onsen, meals, and the staff's hospitality were all excellent. If I had to mention something, the shampoo and conditioner were quite traditional for an onsen facility; it would be nice if they offered more modern options. Also, the room felt slightly damp, which caught my attention. While Kirishima and Ibusuki are popular spots in Kagoshima, I think the onsen in this area is a hidden gem (a local guide mentioned that the quality of the onsen here is exceptional).

    Everything was satisfactory except for the glass of wine and the male server.

    Located in Satsumasendai, Kagoshima. The building is hidden among trees, making you wonder, "Am I in the right place?" But upon closer look, it quietly stands within the woods, creating a serene atmosphere. Inside, you'll find a calm Western-style lobby. The lounge gives off a vibe that might make you feel as if you're in Karuizawa. The Room features both a living room and bedroom with a spacious open-air bath on the balcony. Although there was a heavy rain warning on this day with pouring rain, we were grateful for the roof over the bath that allowed us to enjoy it despite the weather. The large public bath also had an excellent ambiance and perfectly warm water. However, due to the downpour of rain, the outdoor bath was slightly cooler than usual—but during this season, it felt just right and made for an enjoyable experience. As for meals, everything we tried was quite delicious and satisfying overall. However, when ordering red wine by glass—it had an unpleasant aroma and overly sweet taste that didn’t pair well with our meal at all (to an almost unbelievable extent). When mentioning this to one of the staff members serving us their response came across dismissive: “Isn’t that just personal preference?” Despite being knowledgeable about wines myself—I reiterated how unsuitable its flavor profile seemed alongside dinner only receiving comments like “It’s actually popular.” Eventually asking them simply take away what couldn’t be consumed resulted merely acknowledging "It didn’t suit your taste," without any apology whatsoever—leaving much desired regarding service etiquette here compared other attentive team members encountered throughout stay. Despite these issues surrounding wine & specific server interaction—the Ryokan itself remains wonderful overall; should those elements improve would gladly return again!

    The best accommodation.

    Stayed for 2 nights during Golden Week. As I prefer private baths over public ones, the room I stayed in had a private Onsen bath, which was absolutely wonderful. The meals were incredibly delicious, intricately prepared with creative touches, and beautifully presented—truly exceptional. In the stylish lounge, coffee, tea, and 100% juice were freely available—a delightful service that made me very happy. The staff were pleasant and provided excellent hospitality without being overly attentive. Although we arrived an hour late for dinner due to navigation issues while driving a rental car (a new road not on the GPS led us through endless mountain paths), the staff showed no displeasure and did not rush us at all—they were truly outstanding. This accommodation is one I highly recommend!

    Would love to visit again!

    As a returning guest, this Ryokan always makes me want to come back. The Onsen, facilities, and services are excellent, providing a relaxing and comfortable stay. However... this time, during breakfast, I was asked to "wait at the dinner table," but no one came for about 10 minutes. (That aside...) The free drinks and the variety of items in the shop have improved since my last visit, making it even more enjoyable. Coming from Osaka, I will definitely visit again! Thank you once again for a wonderful stay.

    The bath and hospitality are truly satisfying.

    I stayed with my pregnant wife, and we are truly grateful for the warm hospitality of the staff. The private open-air bath in our room, the reserved open-air bath, and the large public bath were all exceptional, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing and luxurious time. It was a stay that made us genuinely feel, "I'm glad we came." We hope to visit again after our child is born. Thank you very much.

    Looking for accommodation? We highly recommend this place. It was truly an excellent ryokan! From the entrance, a wonderful fragrance greeted us, setting the perfect mood. The welcoming atmosphere was enhanced by our favorite music playing softly in the background. The stone sauna was amazing, providing a refreshing and relaxing experience while enjoying more of our favorite tunes. The meals were exceptional in every way. We would love to stay here again!     We brought along our three noisy children, but thanks to your various considerations, we were able to enjoy our stay.     A lovely Ryokan surrounded by trees

    Tezuka Ryokan, where you can enjoy a serene and mature time amidst quiet trees. Thank you very much for your exceptional hospitality. As soon as we stepped inside, we were first soothed by the refreshing and calming citrus scent. The delicious juice in the lounge accompanied by healing music was also very relaxing. The private bath, which felt as if it was surrounded by nature, was wonderful and left us feeling warm and cozy. We also enjoyed the open-air bath in our Room. However, as it was quite a cold day, we also used the large public bath. Since it closed at 10 PM, it felt a bit rushed. If it were open until 11 PM, we could have relaxed more leisurely. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were served in a semi-private room and were exquisite, with great attention to detail and incredible flavors. The staff member who attended to us had a badge indicating they were "in training," but we didn’t feel that way at all. We were warmly welcomed with a kind smile. The sweets placed in our Room were so delicious that we asked for the shop's name and bought some as souvenirs. If I may make one suggestion, there was a smoking room in the hallway leading from the front desk to the Room. Considering the increasing number of people refraining from smoking, I wondered if it was necessary. I felt that space could be used for something else, such as placing books or displaying photos that tell the history of Tezuka Ryokan. Thank you for allowing us to spend such a quality time. Please take care of yourselves, and we look forward to visiting again to see your wonderful smiles.

    The property exceeded expectations.

    We used the property to celebrate a milestone anniversary. The staff kindly accommodated our dietary preferences by offering alternative menu options, and we were truly impressed by their thoughtfulness and hospitality. Although the open-air bath in the large public bath was unavailable due to the winter season, we enjoyed the private open-air bath and were able to relax in the hot water as a couple. We would love to stay at this Stays again when we visit Kyushu.

    Main first

    I think it would have been more delicious if the main course of dinner had been served first. The smell from the smoking area was noticeable right near the hallway of the accommodation rooms, which was unpleasant as a non-smoker. The room facilities were simplified and comfortable, and it was nice to use hand soap from a major cosmetics manufacturer for the first time.

    Repeat Stays! It was a blissful moment!

    I stayed here two years ago and had a wonderful experience, so I decided to stay again. This time, I enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay for two nights at Tezuka ryokan. Both two years ago and this time, I had a truly wonderful time. The excellence of the Onsen, the deliciousness of the food, and the atmosphere of the Facility are all top-notch. I am particularly soothed by the warm hospitality and greetings from all the staff. I love traveling and stay at various Stays, but I think the attention to detail here is top-level. I noticed that there are more young staff members this time, and I hope they continue to carry on the excellence. It's far away, so I can't visit often, but I would love to stay again.
